It’s a good resort, the location and design was good. Despite there being many guests you didn’t feel like you were falling over people. Having access to the beach from the resort was good.
However, it is looking a bit tired. Despite a message to keep the door closed to avoid sandflies it wasn’t possible to close the door to the balcony fully as it needed maintenance (which also meant if we had the aircon on it would have wasted energy). We were offered drinks and canapés is the lounge at sunset, was a nice touch. However, they had none of the ingredients for the cocktails on their menu. Some of the pool loungers needed repairing. Items on the menu were well over priced.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

I checked in and my bed side Lamp was not working. Had to call housekeeping. No hot water to bathe until I checked out two days later. When I checked in, it was 10 pm and raining. I had no help to get to my room which was in a jungle and me dragging my bag into a dark unknown. I hated it. All wet and tired. No onceirge….? Toilet paper nil. Tissue paper nil. Very scarce and basic amenities. Considering i paid for premium water front chalet. Absolute let down. Will not stay again.

Excellent retreat

It was the perfect three-day respite after a week in KL and before going to Malacca. We had a cottage with a full view of the Malacca Strait that had an excellent breeze going through the entire space. Very comfortable with warm and friendly service.

This is my 3rd time staying in avillion. Will put in point as below:-
1) the property is old lots of maintenance work is needed. Room wifi is weak.
2) The room bedsheet is not clean there are stain. Pillow is too soft. Room toilet needed to repair too. There are ants crawling around
3) restaurant table is old and sticky
4) love the children's friendly hotel vibes
5) the mini zoo is a plus point
6) The friday n sat bar live band is excellent place for relax
7) hotel staff is friendly and try their best to give their best they could.
8) peacock, peahen and rooster walking around the hotel make it so unique point for this resort and love it especially for those which kids

Check-in experience - worst! I had 5 nights stay under 3 different bookings. I emailed to the property beforehand to ask combine all the bookings in one room for my convenience because I traveled with a toddler and they acknowledged it. But, upon check-in the staff said no and asked me to move from room to room based on the booking. I went to the check-in counter on the 3rd night for questions as I was not technically check-out from the property. Guess what, the staff asked me why I didn't want to combine the bookings that was too much trouble to move around. I was surprised with them threw me back the question. Ms. Farhana solved the issue and I got to stay in the same room without going through the trouble of moving room to room.

Hotel cleanliness - worst nightmare ever! Check-in counter area dirty and full of lizards poops. Room - they gave me a room with full of birds/animals poops - the deck and the bathroom, ants and bugs everywhere, extremely dirty room, no drinking water provided. They changed me another room with a stunning sunset view but that still not able to offset with the dirtiness, ants crawling everywhere, some unknown black dirt/poop on the desk, Dust and dirty in every corner of the room. At least the bed looks white and not causing allergy on my skin. The AC broken on day 3 and we got power outrage.

This hotel needs a major refurbishment. Not going back for sure. Lastly, they only had 1 bell boy and the security guard did his job for us.

Did not get a king size bed as per my booking. Instead, i get two single beds even though i have paid extra headcount for the third pax. Room cleanliness is disappointing, surface of the furniture is very dusty with spider web, floor is dirty with hair strands, pillow has a dusty smell. I hope Avillion improves the room cleanliness.

A major disappointment. The resort is tired, run-down
poorly maintained and is not a 4-star luxury resort at all. Mouldy walls, dirt in lights, cracking walls and the room amenities are old and unusable e.g safe did not work properly. Slow room service and not-so-friendly staff outside of the reception. The resort needs to be upgraded. Very low value for money. The stay was not comfortable and not suitable for a beach holiday resort to chill out in.

The views were amazing!

The bathrooms had green fungus. Floors dusty and dirty. My comforter had a large stain of God knows what! Only 1 towel provided and toiletries for 2 instead of 3. Comforter for only 2 persons though rooms booked for 3. So many things wrong. Waited nearly 40 mins for our drinks. Unworthy of a 5 star! Made an official complaint. Have photographic evidence of the condition of the 3 rooms I booked.

I'd say this place will need a massive makeover. Parking was great. Front office was warm and loving, in fact Hidayah even upgraded us to a premium chalet. The place has aged for sure but my disappointment was with the chalet. It didnt shout 5 star as it used to be. Paints fading and wooden floors & frames were clearly old. I found lizard in the room and of course its dropping as well. Breakfast buffet was alright. Nasi lemak sambal was good (spicy), Pretty good local and a hint of American options were available

We booked 2 rooms 716 and 715. 715 had bed bugs, large collection of hair and blood stains on the bed sheets. Not responsive only when we pushed things got done. We got another room at 5.20 pm despite our complaint at 2.45,but even that room had ants all over. Totally upset with the management.
Next day breakfast, we went at 8am, no coffee and tea because of circuit breaker issue, only got it done at 9. No action plan at all. They could used urns instead.
This place is not lighted up at night, need torch lights.
My suggestion, close the resort and do a thorough cleaning using professional cleaners.
The management should look into refurbishment.
You are not cheap after all.

Disappointing overall. Stayed here a few years ago. Deteriorated since then. Smelly toilet when we first entered the chalet. Trash in room not taken out before we checked in. Noisy premier water chalet because near public beach. Paid RM850 for it and totally overpriced for the condition of the room. Hotel.com service equally bad. Promised a king room but we got a twin room instead. Shouldn’t have that option when you know it had sold out.

Book this during mco, although facilities were closed but it doesn’t make sense to close the lounge area which was the most attractive place in this hotel. We requested to only take pictures but was not allowed despite it was included in the booking. Water chalet is nice but there are lots of birds flying around in and out of the chalet which is uncomfortable. Already requested to the property to have 2 single bed and was agreed on phone, however upon arrival was given king bed due to single bed room no longer available. I want to thank porter and restaurant staff who were very helpful with our request.

Positives:-
1. Got my requested seaview garden chalet. View was mesmerising at times.
2. Major love for the comfy bed/mattress
3. Loved the large ensuite bathroom/wardrobe area although it occupies nearly half the room but very practical for our family of 3.
4. Lush, verdant, landscape gave a true resort feel not quite seen in other supposedly resorts in P.D.
5. The beach during low tide was awesome. Hard to beat this!
6. Nasi lemak for breakfast was really good.

Negatives:-
1. Had to brace through after the rain wet staircase and balcony to get to our 1st floor chalet upon checkin.
2. Overall cleanliness was around 7/10
3. The main pool is not big enough for a resort. Guests had to take turn to use the pool. Maximum 20 for 1 hour only. Even the kids' pool is just too tiny.
4. Breakfast selections were too limited. No greens/salads at all except for the cucumber that came with the nasi lemak.
5. Only 1 restaurant within easy walking distance from the hotel but there was no proper walking pavement and the road was super busy and at a bend. Otherwise, newd to drive out.

Nice homely and peaceful place. Love the Kampung feel. Nice friendly staff. Really thank the front desk manager who help called the previous hotel in Ipoh Havens to local my missing camera which I left there. A big thank you.

Area of improvement:
Wish the swimming pool and Jacuzzi could extend the operating hours to 10:30pm instead of 9pm. Missed the complimentary beach activities like the giant bubbles the last time I came. The Water Chalets need to recheck on safety as some floor wooden boards were rotting and the foundation beams to some chalets were not vertical. It's probably time for a renovation and restoration work done. At night there were no lights on the wooden pavements to our chalet and pretty dark. We need to use our own torchlight.

The hotel resort is lovely. Food in both restaurants was great. The sky bar is good with singers each evening. Plenty to do on site especially for families.
The water chalets were terrible! We complained about our chalet because of a bad smell and broken, ripped blinds and furniture. We were given another chalet facing the beach which was only slightly better. The staff were helpful and when we complained again about the toilet flush broken, it was fixed straight away.
The beach looked lovely but there are warnings about sand flies and recommendations to apply repellent before going on the beach.
There is nothing to do if you go off site it is a small quiet resort.
It was too quiet for us.
The water chalets are in urgent need of updating, they could be great with some time and money spending on them.

It was a unique experience. The pool, mini farm and the private beaches was fun. However, would like the hotel to kindly do timely maintanance of rooms and toilets. My toilet choked when we first arrived, the balcony door was misaligned, nails were sticking out of bed ( had young kid running around) and the beds were dusty. Nevertheless the stay was enjoyable. The room services promptness can also be improved. Please have clearer telephone connections and more tv channels.

It was a very good stay. The staff were friendly and did accommodate our request.

On the downside, check-in is already very late at 3 pm and there was a long guest check-in line. We got our room key almost at 4 pm.

The aircon inside the chalet got a problem which was immediately fixed by their staff which was quite impressive given the late hours of work.

Overall the stay was very good.

The water chalet was huge and the bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows were wonderful. I love the day bed as well good for watching the scene outside while staying cool inside. The huge bathroom with the rain shower is lovely.
The adults only pool is a godsend. The gym is small but functional.

There are lots of child friendly activities and nature. Love the sound of water lapping and night walks on the decks. The room floor was not very clean and they didn’t provide floor towels which I thought a RM500 room should have. Especially after bath outdoors, to walk back into the room with wet feet? The fridge was also not working, so the food I brought for my child went bad real quick. The lounge toilet at the galley, was a horrific state! Eeek... still, all that aside, I’d still go back but check the condition and ask for room change.

Hotel is dated and need total renovation. Towels were not provided in the room and had to asked for them. Everything in the hotel are dated. The only good thing is that it’s next to a local public beach. But it was crowded and many set up camp sites there to spend the night or holidays.

Property is huge, reception area is pretty. However, it seems that rooms are quite dated. Wood on the doors, floors, windows are showing signs of wear and tear and aging. Cleanliness can be improved, extra bedsheets, bedsheets were showing stains. Amenities were okay, great for families. Only the croissants were good from breakfast. Service staff were not very hospitable, maybe they were understaffed to handle peak period of guests. But it shouldn't be too difficult to give a smile and acknowledge your guests right?

Loved the over water bungalow and bungalow themselves especially bathroom. Service was lacking . No service by adult pool. No towels and asked one staff who never came back. Then I had to go and find some towels and they acted like I was going to steal them . No towels in bathroom in check in . Very strange

Enjoyed our stay. Overall the stay was fun. The accommodation needs a face lift , certain areas noted to be in run down condition. Seem like less attention given to upkeep of the resort.
Do something before the whole place turns into a shamble.

Like the environment, even thought it is not new but it is well maintained.
Most of the staffs are polite and helpful.
During the breakfast time, I noticed the staffs even notice a couple use the outdoor dining, the staff make an initiative to bring the cutlery over and on the fan for them. Even thought it is little effort but can see it is from the heart, as the indoor dining is still empty.

Limited car parks, Rooms were dusty, bed sheets and towel had stains. My TV was not working when we first came in. Upkeep required.

Good thing is that the view is nice as I got an unobstructed view of the sea. and we managed to walk along the beach during low tide to see the small crabs. Kids enjoyed the pool and the petting farm.

Check in took more than half an hour, Ants in room, was bitten by bugs from the bed, there is still water in the kettle when we came into the room, sliding door lock was unable to lock... very disappointed....

dont judge the cover..

the room was very nice,the breakfast was good,hi tea in avi lounge also good.house keeper also very good attitude.the server in cafe also nice
the only problem is the corridor of room full of bird shit.the night we arrived around 8pm,with tired body,long way driving and we need to searching the room..yes, the reception told us where the room and even giving us map,but not enough. i roam around almost 15 min just to look for the room.why not assign someone to sent or atleast to show the way to go..i feel not like other 5 star hotel..we used to travel,almost all the hotel show us the room even 3 star hotel.when we arrived no one at reception,may be busy with changing shift or chatting,until i asked no one at reception.i dont want spoil my holiday mood so i just kept quiet.is it customer 1st??and why reception left without attending??may be the look at my appearance like poor people thats why just ignore me.
just want to asked,how long the bedsheet left until u received new customer? my skin type is very sensitive to dust,the 1st nite i cannot slept because very itchy for whole body.lucky nothing happen to me.and last thing,if the bedsheet already tear,dont used it again..

Shattered glass everywhere in room!

Bad and bad experience! Never stay again!
When I check out on 7th March 2019 morning, only realised that a lot of shattered glass on the floor and my bed too. Very lucky that not hurt me!
Talk to hotel receptionist, she replied Oooh you got hurt, I say no. She said ok, we will talk to higher management. After I send video to them and told them reply me what is outcome? She saw my massage but not reply anything!
I really NOT satisfy their response since this was cetogolize in 5 star hotel even maybe 6 star!!!

Relax & Rejuvenate @ Avillion Port Dickson

Avillion Port Dickson has been our favorite short holiday destination for the family. We like the Premium Water Chalet and the access to the lounge. It has privacy and a resort atmosphere where you feel relaxed and refreshed. It helps having 2 pools, one for children near the restaurant (for children & adults) and another in the park for adults only (more privacy) open 24 hours a day. The food is good at all the restaurants. So if you want a short stint away from town for relaxation and rejuvenation, choose this resort.
