Great stay in Narvik at the Royal. Great breakfast included. Old school bar restaurant attached. If you’re skiing and don’t have a car, it’s a 20-30 minute hike up the hill. Call a taxi. Good lobby snacks including sandwiches if you arrive late. Rooms w view of the ski hill are available. Check that ski hill is fully open when planning. Gondola was closed and 3 slopes were open in Feb 2026 as they prepared for World Championships

Good location

The cleanliness is good, location is also very convenient. The aiport bus stops directly in front of the hotel. There’s a shopping mall just across the road with a supermarket too.
Only complaint is that there is no bathroom slippers and toothbrush kit provided.

They checked us into an old room that was really hot and dirty. A very high step into the bathroom which made it easy to fall. Very unsafe for elderly or kids. They did upgrade our room to a renovated one, but with a fee of 200 NOK. Better be safe than sorry!

Clean and cozy room, affordable price, location good.

The room temperature was not adjustable and hence it was too hot to sleep. Would have kept window open but the traffic noise was too loud.

Would not come back during summer. The most important thing about a hotel is to offer a good night’s sleep, this hotel could not deliver that.

Extreme variability room to room

This hotel is basically two hotels. The first room I was given was in the older section of the hotel and was not at all reflective of the photos on the site. I've uploaded photos here so you can see it. I spoke to the reception and they offered me another room (which was in the newer section) for a small upgrade (50 NOK/night, about $5/night). The difference was extreme! Everything from the hallway, the doors to the rooms, to the room and bathroom were drastically different. The new room was fantastic and I was very happy with it. The photos on the site are accurate reflections of the new rooms. Just be aware that you may need to go back and request a different room if you're placed in the older section, and that they may ask for a small upgrade fee (well worth it, though not especially honest since the photos on the site only show the newer rooms).

This hotel is a straight shot up from the bus station. Very friendly checking staff who looked city bus schedule up for us! Clean hotel, great bartender and an amazing chicken Caesar salad! Negative, if any, small room. Would stay here again!

Nice hotel in a good location

A decent enough hotel located fairly centrally in Narvik. Rooms were just what you would expect for a large chain hotel of this type. Clean, comfortable, well equipped rooms, but nothing to elaborate. The staff were friendly enough and the food was generally good. The breakfast is a typical Scandinavian buffet affair, there is a downstairs pub/restaurant which serves great burgers, ribs, tex mex, pizza, etc. Upstairs there is a more formal restaurant which has spectacular panoramic views from the top floor of the hotel. The menu however, is “esoteric” and the cost…. Well if you have to ask, you can’t afford it. My advice, go up and have a look at the view, and then go downstairs for a burger.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Cecilie! She was so helpful and sweet. She recommended Viva Restaurant. We had dinner there and it was one of the best meals in Norway.
Our bed was comfortable. We had large fluffy towels and a bright light at the mirrow in the bathroom.
There was a nice long table/desk with a fridge underneath one end. There was a table w/ 2 chairs in the room. We enjoyed our breakfast. Parking was convenient in the garage next to the hotel.

Rommet var fantastisk selv om det er et av dem som ikke er pusset opp. Det eneste var det lille badet med en liten og litt gammel dusj som ikke var det trivligste og være på. Men ellers veldig fint rom og hotell. Anbefales virkelig og grei pris og hyggelige ansatte.

Fine fellesområder, sentral beliggenhet, god frokost og adgang til treningssenter trekker opp, men det klarer ikke å veie opp for at rommet er lite og slitt, med dårlig luft og lite belysning. Badet er knøttlite og ekstremt slitt med knekte fliser og flekker som ligner mugg i taket. Når man dusjer flyter vannet over hele badegulvet. De kunne i det minste ha lagt igjen et ekstra håndkle til å tørke opp..

Hotellet er sentralt og fin plassering rommet var slitent, veldig varmt.
Veldig dårlig vasket var syltetøy rester opp langs vegger og masse hår over alt, under senga var det masse støv.
Varmvannet i dusjen var lunka og dopapiret var små servietter nesten.

Was asked at check-in if I wanted to pay for an upgrade because my room had \"limited ventilation\". The problem turned out to be that the window could not be opened properly, which made the room very hot. This is not normal.

Vi lå på et gammelt rom, ingen ventilasjon, kunne ikke ha vinduet åpent pga trafikkstøy. Badet er det dårligste vi har hatt, det var rent men en ubestemmelig lukt, det var utrolig lite, og vanskelig å komme seg inn i dusjen selv for små og slanke personer. Stor høydeforskjell på badet og selve rommet. Det var skummelt. Frokosten var veldig bra, god mat og god plass😊

Hotelli oli ihan ok. Huoneessa oli todella tunkkainen ilma. Vessa oli aika ahdas. Sänky oli todella pehmeä ja kapea. Yöunista ei sen takia tullut mitään ja kun huoneessa oli vielä kaiken päälle kuuma. Ikkunaa ei voinut melun takia pitää koko yötä auki. Aamupala oli monipuolinen. Siitä plussaa. Henkilökunta oli ihan mukava. Pysäköintihalli oli aika kallis. Noin 12 tuntia maksoi 180kr
