It was a random booking on a long drive from the West of France to Denmark and it turned out to be really nice. In woodland, just off the motorway. It was clealry a fancy resort hotel and some of the public areas felt slightly tired but the lake and restaurant and bedrooms were all good / generous

We had an unexpected layover in Venlo and stayed here 1 night. It is a beautiful, quiet property nestled in a forest area. The staff was accommodating and the room was very nice. It was not walking distance to Venlo or the train station but the taxi ride was inexpensive. No restaurants near the hotel but the hotel does have a bar/restaurant with a picturesque patio area and friendly staff.

This hotel has lovely big rooms with a great restaurant and swimming pool. Breakfast was delicious. It is set in woodlands with a lake.
My only criticism would be older people would fine it difficult to get in the shower as it in within a bath and you have to lift your leg over the bath sides to get in.

What a shame - I used to stay at this hotel when I worked for a Dutch company many years ago.
Now it’s tired and badly needs renovation.
Curtains hanging off the rails and as per the attached images - the balcony is covered in leaves and green algae - not cleaned in months. Dreadful white stain in the corridor carpet.
Give this hotel a very wide berth!

The swimming pool was opened from 7am and was almost empty. Kids had lots of fun swimming, then trainspotting and walking in the woods.
Everyone was spoiled with choice at the breakfast.
Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful.

something can be improved, window curtain is not very good, the room became very bright in the morning so i couldn’t sleep because it’s too bright. the bed cover is too thick for summer, since there is no AC in the room, why not change a summer cover which is thinner.

We stayed with you in February 2019 and throughly enjoyed ourselves so as we were coming back for the limberg carnival Feb 2020 we booked again. My husband booked an executive suite and it was lovely so clean and such a comfortable bed the breakfast staff and bar and restaurant staff made us feel very welcome and we will definitely book again.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Venlo but it is a easy drive to get there.
The hotel is located next to a pond in a wooded area and the building is very quaint.
The reception is super helpful, the rooms are super modern and the beds are super comfortable.
The walls are a bit on thin side and unfortunately it is quite a noisy hotel due to the door locks used and the nearby very busy train line.
The hotel restaurant is excellent but the staff were either understaffed or just really slow when we were there.
The hotel pool is excellent and so is the breakfast.
I would recommend the hotel to people passing through as a totally worthwhile stay if you do not want to stay close to the motorway.

2 very comfortable nights near Venlo

This was our 3rd visit to the Bilderberg De Bovenste Molen Hotel. We enjoyed the previous visits and this one was no exception. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were relaxed and enjoyed every minute of it.
On arrival; we we were looked after by the receptionist who spoke excellent English, as did all the rest of the staff we had contact with.
The room was an executive room with the usual mini bar TV etc, but with an excellent desk and chair for those that may have to do that bit of work during their stay.
We can honestly say that the beds were the most comfotable hotel beds we have ever slept in, and we have slept in quite a few. There was a choice of pillows with 3 differing softness, which was great because my wife finds it difficult to sleep on a hard pillow.
Likewise. the buffet breakfast is amongst the best we have ever tasted. The array of breads was amazing. We had an execellent dinner in the evening which has tables with a beautiful view across the lake. Plenty of tables outside on the terrace, very pleasant for the warm evenings. We sat outside enjoying the tranquility, which is only spoilt occasionally, by the ringing of bells from a nearby railway crossing. The train noise is insignificant as they pass slowly. With your drinks you receieve a very generous complimentary helping of peanuts.
We hope we get the chance to visit again or maybe we should try one of the other Bilderberg hotels, there are few of them around.

Lovely hotel with very attentive staff. I'd forgotten to bring a hairbrush on my short overnight trip and they kindly lent me one!
Great room, clean and welcoming, great breakfast selection with a stunning view over the water.

Would recommend to anyone doing a short trip. Equally I'd like to come back and spend more time there!

My second stay here, this time for 3 nights. I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed this hotel, the only downfall is it's proximity to the railway line which has a crossing with warning bells and trains regular both night and day, we did however, get used to this and it was not too much of an annoyance. The Hotel is well maintained, tastefully designed and very comfortable. It has a nice swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is of a very high standard, they provided a good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice of food and the restaurant a la carte meals were excellent; not a big menu, but something for all tastes. It is conveniently situated by a lake in the countryside, but only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Venlo.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking comfort and good value.

Great Hotel in a lovely location.

Our second stay at the hotel and yet again a great stop-over. Managed to take advantage of the indoor pool and sauna area which was a great way to relax after driving there, this was followed by a really good meal in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was really good with a wide choice of hot/cold dishes.
Overall a great place to stay and we look forward to our next visit.

We stayed two nights while visiting the Floriade horticultural show. This is a lovely hotel, with excellent service, in a quiet location (despite the proximity of a railway line). We particularly liked the walks around the hotel grounds, and the swimming pool. The restaurant is excellent, but somewhat expensive and there is no alternative within walking distance. Highly recommended.

Old World Charm in a Beautiful Setting

Just lovely hotel with helpful staff and really nice dining room. Nice location but at least a mile and half walk to Venlo train station and 2 miles to the center of town. Bring comfortable walking shoes or expect to shell out quite a bit for expensive cab rides back and forth to the hotel. The setting in the back of the hotel is just beautiful and tranquil. Great spa facilities and a huge pool. If I ever find myself in Venlo again I will surely stay here!

Fantastic quiet retreat in the forest, on a small lake.
You'll need directions to find it, but it's well worth the short drive. Bilderberg has never failed us in beauty of location, comfort of room, and a nice sauna and pool indoors. Friendly staff. The decor is curious and maybe too modern for the setting.
