This was a very nice hotel in a great location in Nice. The tour companies pick up and drop off at this hotel which makes it easy for tourists to participate in tours. We enjoyed our three nights at this hotel.

Overall fine but the mattress was very uncomfortable and because I was in 1st floor I cloud here music and breakfast. It was ok. Breakfast buffet was average. Recommend going across to the Flav cafe instead. Lovely patio though

Beautiful hotel & checkin/out process was fast & efficient. Staff so friendly! Rooms not huge & very dimm lighting but sufficient for our quick stay. Bathroom & shower are great! Close to tram to old town and a quick walk to beach. Breakfast items couldve been replenished more when big crowd. If you dont want cappuccino from machine you can pay extra for authentic…may take a while to get it.

A lovely chique hotel in an excellent location to explore Nice and the surrounding Cote d’Azur region. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and tastefully decorated. The room was clean, comfortable bed and a good breakfast choice. The hotel is well located for a short walk to the train station, the promenade, shops, the old town and there is a tram stop nearby.

This will be a lovely hotel with great location, pleasant staff on reception (although not able to do much) and nice decor.
Unfortunately hotel undergoing renovations with staff giving empty promises on completion.

Currently dusty and no bar.
Even once completed there will be a major flaw in that there is one lift which can take up to 300kg but in reality only 2 people at a time, due to its size.
Hotel has accommodation over 6 floors.
Please read reviews carefully as little mention of work being undertaken and hotel and booking sites don't mention it. We found neither hotels.com nor hotel itself wouldn't help once we had booked.

Bel hôtel bien situé et très bien entretenu et propre. Petit déjeuner excellent. Personnel attentif à nos besoins.
Seuls points négatifs, le wifi assez faible dans les chambres et la douche coulait un peu dans la salle de bain.
Mais je recommande cet hôtel sans hésitation. D'autant plus que les récentes rénovations ont ajouté une terrasse-café trés jolie.

Visited with friends last week, lovely hotel with chatacter. We received a friendly welcome from reception staff. Rooms were bigger than expected, clean, smart and the little balcony made the room light & airy, a pleasant surprise. Kettle & hairdryer in rooms. Lift was small (max 4 persons) but in full working order. Breakfast was ample, continental- selection of fruit, yoghurts, hams, cheeses, cakes/ pastries etc.. a new breakfast room was being built which will give more room. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the train station (10 mins) promenade de anglaise, restaurants, old town & the market. We will be back!

The room was nice and large. The bathroom was very nice including a towel warmer. The staff were nice and helpful except one of the breakfast monitors. The location is excellent and and close to everything, but not too close. It made for a quiet stay , but the ability to get to the action quickly. The train station is within walking distance. The remodel being done is going to make the lobby area even nicer.
There are three things that would have made the stay five stars: Access to buy something to drink for the room, ice which was said that they had no access to any ice. Last if there had been an agreement with a laundry service rather than having to find one on your own.

The hotel is undergoing renovation to the front. Only one elevator works and fits only 4 people or less with luggage. The elevator does not work consistently from the basement up and breakfast is in the basement. There was much construction noise and workers yelling but we could only hear it in the lobby. Our room was spacious and had a huge bathroom with towel heater. The staff let us check in early and are mailing me items I accidentally left behind. Wonderful staff. The elevator was only an issue for check in, check out, and busy times( breakfast) because I broke my ankle before arrival.

The check-in was extremely slow with the male receptionist. I was kept waiting for a long time. The female receptionist was very nice and helpful. They seem very strict about the check-in time too whereas other hotels have some flexibility if the room is ready. The room on the top floor had great views.

Location is great to walk to the old town and beach. Hotel is clean reception staff helpful . However it is currently under refurbishment so there is no bar or outside terrace as advertised. We were woken up early by workmen directly outside our room window.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room was large with a nice bathroom. Breakfast was very good every morning. The location was good. It was only a six minute walk from the L2 Tram from the airport. It was also about an eight minute walk to the promenade de Anglais. Niece is beautiful with a lot of elegant buildings. If I come again, I would be quite happy staying at hotel Villa Victor Hugo.

On the night of my arrival on a freezing night in January the hotel did not have heat in the building!
After flying for over 15 hours I had the most unpleasant freezing night I ever had in my life! They were unable to fix the heat until next day because “it was national holiday “ or offer a portable heater.
I had send multiple emails to management asking for a refund for that night but was mostly ignored and told by someone that they gave me a 15e free breakfast as apology ☹️

Not as good as we'd been led to expect. It was disheartening to turn up and find hoarding around the hotel door and scaffolding covering most of the front (including 2 of our rooms). In other circumstances I've been warned before arrival. No heating in two of the rooms for 3 out of 4 nights was bad and no compensation offered.

First I want to express how amazing all of the staff was. They were friendly, extremely accommodating and helpful with all of our questions. Especially Raluca. I didn’t get the names of all of the staff, but there was one young woman who went us her travel card because we were only going to do one trip.
The interior of this hotel is beautiful. It is well cared for and was kept very clean. We were very comfortable in our room.
My complaint with this hotel is that when we booked the reservations, we were not informed that there was major outside renovation going on. When we arrived, our balcony was completely obstructed by construction materials. The staff was amazing. They allowed me to look at many rooms until I finally found the one room that had an unobstructed balcony.
It is my impression that if construction is being done on a hotel during booking there usually is a message indicating that. Or a message from the hotel will come in through my Expedia account email. This was not done. I hope Expedia expresses to hotel owners and management that this is something that should be indicated.
We will make this our first choice when we return to Nice. We will just be sure to communicate ahead of time to make sure there everything is as should be.
Again, I cannot express how amazing the staff is here. Also, the location is perfect. It is walking distance to all of the main areas and the beach, but removed enough that you feel like you’re in a little bit of a neighborhood.

Location is good. Two big issues: Rooms are way too cold and Wifi Service in the Rooms is terrible. Wifi in the room is practically non-existent which is a HUGE inconvenience for foreign travelers. I had to go down to the lobby for working Wifi. Very inconvenient. I visited end of November and the rooms will not get heat. I was way too cold. 22 degrees celcius was the highest for room temperature and honestly it felt colder than that in the room. A standard minimum for a hotel is to provide proper heat in the rooms, and working Wifi.

Hotel looked good and should have been lovely but the exterior of the building is being renovated and is mostly covered in scaffolding and tarpaulin.
Our first room had no view of the outside, the balcony was fully covered with plastic sheeting. We were moved to a room with a marginally better view but in the day light it was again not good and we were woken up at 8am by builders banging right outside our window. We couldn’t open the curtains as they were on our balcony!
We complained and after much wasted time were downgraded to an inferior room. We had to argue to get the difference in room rate refunded and then they would only do that for the 2 following nights, not the disturbed night. Receptionists very helpful, management lacking any customer service.
The owners are refusing to mention the works online and are mis selling the hotel currently vs the pictures that are shown. Avoid until works are completed!

We made a two day reservation on the day we arrived in Nice. The VRBO we originally reserved was a 4 flight climb with luggage. I had strained my back that morning at the train station, so we had to make new plans. Hotel La Nice was perfect for us. Small, clean, and friendly in a charming location near the promenade and reasonably priced. The elevator, standing shower, and small balcony overlooking the street with double doors I could leave open, all helped me recuperate quickly. After recovering, local restaurants and a stroll along the nearby promenade gave us a brief but enjoyable taste of Nice. We highly recommend it.

Nice smaller boutique style hotel. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. I got a larger room and it was bigger than expected with a larger bathroom and clean. The only thing is the hotel was being remodeled and there was a construction platform and plastic right outside of my window and others blocking most of the window. The bathroom has a small balcony and I couldn’t go outside as it was blocked by the platforms, which was disappointing. But other than that I like this hotel and the beautiful architecture of the building. Breakfast was very good too and it’s within walking distance to the train station and main areas.

My room with a view of the scaffolding and construction starts early.
I am in the building business and I understand that but that is what I was trying to get away from for a few days.
If I was in the other part of the building it would had been superb.

This property would have been 5 stars if only cleanliness and staff had been considered. However they mention having a bar area…yet there was never a bartender. Also scaffolding covered the front and all of a sudden one day, it blocked our view of the street and banged all day. I realize maintenance needs to be done sometimes but it detracted from the experience. The breakfast was adequate and the staff was friendly however. Also the check in process was efficient. The room was spotlessly clean. Just a few small issues corrected would have made this a 5 star property.
