This is the best place I've ever stayed. The owner could not have been more helpful. She is wonderful!! The place is beautiful, and impeccably clean. We stayed 4 nights, and I wish we could have stayed longer! The staff did everthing to make our stay comfortable and convenient...welcome drink and cool cloth, getting us settled, recommendations, driving us to the American consulate, water and snacks and all without extra cost. I totally recommend Chankam Boutique Hotel.

My husband and the other couple we traveled with loved this property. We will stay here again. It was in a very quiet area, but very accessible to shopping and restaurants. The property is quaint and quiet; very clean. The room was so clean! The bed was extremely comfortable and I looked forward every night to sleeping well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Available, but not intrusive. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Charming boutique hotel

I had a lovely time. The Lobby is charming and stylish. Staff is welcoming and helpful. I enjoyed the jet tub and rainfall shower head. I also used their free city bicycles to travel all over the old city. Location was perfect as well. I highly recommend.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They took very good care of me. I had a really late check in and the reception was just as inviting as any other time. Even went as far as offering tea and a moist towel to freshen up. The rooms were very nice and had a “feels like home” atmosphere.
The concierge helped with events and motor rental and make everything so easy. I took a tuk tuk and the driver didn’t have chance and the hotel covered my fair and later added it to my bill! How wonderful is that?

A peaceful hotel with respectful guests

The hotel is quiet, comfortable with kind staff and guests. I did not smell cigarette or cannabis smoke once in the hotel which was a nice reprieve from most accommodations in Thailand today. Some people have just lost all respect for one another in this regard. I did smell cannabis in the stairwell (presumably from a neighbouring parking lot) but never in my room. I’m grateful for this and hope it shows the type of guest demographic that suits these accommodations.

The rooms had modern technology like a doorbell and indicator lights for do not disturb or cleaning requests. The cleaning staff were such kind hearts and were basically on call during my stay, I loved this and was very unique out of thousands of hotels I’ve stayed.

It’s a tropical climate so there were ants and mosquitoes and it will take some fine tuning by the facilities staff. I highly recommend using Tero liquid ant traps to deal with the ants and address all air leaks in the HVAC system to deal with the mosquitoes. Better sealing will also improve cooling efficiency.

For the internet connection they need to switch to a single wifi next work for all guests to use. Their login system does not work well and a single network with extenders to cover the hotel will serve them much better. The existing wifi setup could easily be configured for this.

Overall I loved the tranquility of the hotel, there was some construction noise but it didn’t bother me every day.

We stayed at Chankam as part of our 3 day Chiang Mai tour. The location was central and the staff was beyond amazing. Since it was our honeymoon, they decorated our room with flower petals, which was a wonderful surprise. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful! The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure and temperature were perfect. We would recommend this hotel to our family and friends and we would come back!

Unfortunately the place is old and run down. The air conditioner in our room didn’t work and it over an hour to convince the night manger that there was a problem. It then took her another 30 minutes to find us another room even though we and travelling companion were the only ones staying there. We tried to breakfast one day but the chef was having the day off. We had to get up early the next day and did provide us with toast and coffee as requested. Overall disappointing.

They charge for every drink inside the room. If you don’t want to pay extra, don’t drink or have any extra items they provide. Otherwise, the room is nice and clean. The walking distance from the hotel to street food vendors is about 5 minutes, friendly staff. The hotel is also close to the airport. If you need a ride to the airport, let them know ahead of time.

This is a beautiful hotel and Rinradee the manageress is so welcoming and so helpful.
The hotel is an oasis of calm in a busy city. The staff cannot do enough for you. It is a very comfortable hotel, we couldn’t wait to get back everyday and enjoy the super comfortable bed and beautiful crisp clean sheets!

This is a beautiful hotel. It is quiet with comfortable beds. We got two free bottles of water (can't drink the tap water), for a seven day stay. After that, there is a charge for every bottle of water. Also, we received a 1 inch by 1 inch square of soap for our entire stay. The hotel is beautiful but these small inconsistancies are grating

The rustic feel of the property may attract some people. The property is old. The balcony door needs to be locked by clicking the lock at a certain angle. The toilet shower door cannot be closed properly. The worse experience was the TV was not functioning properly. We cannot hear the sound and they could not get it rectified.

We were recommended this hotel but my partner’s sister who stayed there the previous year. I am so happy we found his fantastic hotel. From the very first time we met the staff at the airport to check out we felt like VIPs the whole time. I have never met such an incredible team, from the reception staff to the waiters, to the cleaner and the security guard, everyone were so kind and friendly, super helpful, telling us where to go and what we could do. We really were overwhelmed by the service we got. The room was absolutely fantastic, the decor and attention to detail were amazing, we really felt like we were in Thailand there. The breakfast was to die for as well, so plentiful and delicious. If only the other hotels in Thailand were half as good, our expectations were so high after visiting the Chankam Boutique Hotel. Thank you so much to all of the staff, you are all incredible. We will be back :)

We loved this boutique hotel. Right in the old town of Chiang mai. Quiet residential area. Staff extremely friendly, polite and couldn’t do enough to help make our stay more enjoyable.

Some taxis unfortunately couldn’t find the hotel. But if you have a map and show them they were more than happy to take you to the door.
The free Bikes available are an excellent idea and we made the most of them to explore this beautiful city. Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely be back.

Quiet, Quaint Boutique Hotel

This hotel is tucked away down a side road. For those who want quiet this is perfect. You don’t see any other guests either! Lovely sitting area, nobody around!
It is out of the way so expect to do a lot of walking or grabbing tuk tuk/taxis.

Other reviews are correct about the breakfast def not worth the price (toast and coffee only). We were surprised when they gave us a voucher for a discount on the breakfast (at checkout) ; the must have read the reviews.

We loved the hotel. It was perfectly located in the middle of old city! It is easy to walk from here to all the cultural sites, restaurants, and shops in the old city. Its quietly located down to side streets so your are close the bustling city but not hearing all the noise. The hotel was lovely- rooms were well appointed and very clean. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to try and help us. The breakfast each morning was delicious and made to order- I loved the thai style congee. My husband was vegetarian and they were happy to make food to order for us. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Charming quiet Boutique hotel

My daughter and I had a wonderful 2 night stay here. It is hidden away from the bustling city activity, and only a short tuk-tuk ride to the action. Very friendly staff and very nice included breakfast. The rooms have a lot of character with very comfortable beds and a nice modern bathroom . It was a great value. I was s little surprised that they charged me about 200 baht ($6.00US) for the very small coffee pods I used on the room. But, all in all, I would definitely go back there.

Very nice and quiet place to stay.

Nice updated rooms, very quiet and clean. Do not expect a view out of the window(s). Located amidst local residents' homes. There is a cooking school called Akha Thai that seems worth checking out (I didn't have enough time). I would advise going out for breakfast rather than getting it at the hotel. Taa Peng Cat cafe is a good option.

Great Hotel - Perfectly off the busy roads

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and loved it! It is off the major roads in a fairly quiet neighborhood, which makes for a nice getaway from traffic and noise. It was a great location and easily walkable to everything in old town.

The staff was fantastic, helped us with booking a day rental car and provided many recommendations on things to do and see in the area.

The rooms were nice, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The little patio was a nice touch and the breakfast was good.

I highly recommend this hotel!

We arrived very early in the morning, having caught the sleeper train up from Bangkok - we were told by the staff that our room wasn't yet ready as we'd arrived so early, but they went to great lengths to make sure we could freshen up, store our luggage and get out to explore Chiang Mai so as not to waste the day. We came back to find that our room had been upgraded to the Grand Suite, which was a lovely surprise and an exceptionally comfortable room.

The hotel itself is tucked away on a back street and can be tricky to find, but it's well placed for the rest of Chiang Mai and you can very easily wander into the centre of town and, of an evening, the night bazaar is probably 20 minutes away.

Overall, a great stay and very helpful, attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Great Boutique hotel in the old city og Chaing Mai

Clea and comfortable small hotel on a quiet side street. Very friendly staff and huge breakfasts included in room rates. Walking distance to nearby temple and eating places. Chiang Mai is much quieter than Bangkok and Pattaya and the air is much cleaner. Lots of sights within 15 km of hotel via scooter or tour bus. Watch out for police road blocks targeting tourists driving without an international licence...500 baht fine!

Had a really nice stay here, rooms have beautiful decor and details, with comfortable beds. They are a bit small, but there is a balcony with a little table and chair which is nice. The only annoying thing is that the only coffee in the room is via the pod/machine, which is 90 baht.. kind of a rip off. Located in old town, there isn't anything directly outside the hotel, but restaurants just a few minutes walk in any of the directions. The hotel has free bicycles to use which is great, I didn't use a tuk tuk or taxi the whole weekend. And the staff was nice to let me use the bike even after check out.

Great place and location

Comfortable bed and linens. Great area, really nice clean and spacious room and shower. Only issue, Air conditioning temp was adjustable but location was blowing right onto the bed even with lowest fan setting. Maybe it is different setup in another room, we were in 306. Could use bedside lamp as switch for overhead is not handy when ur in bed

Lovely hotel in a quiet location.

The hotel and bedrooms are very nicely decorated and with good facilities. The shower is AMAZING! The hotel itself is on a quiet, residential road which is about a 20 minute walk away from the daily night market. You can borrow bikes too if you want to cycle around town. The staff are lovely and very friendly. Overall a good hotel.

A diamond in the rough

Chankam Boutique Hotel is impeccably kept, serviced, and provides first class service to it's clientele.

The hotel sits in the middle of the old city of Chiang Mai, in a residential area, with winding narrow streets. The staff, what can be said to improve on total satisfaction, and comfort!
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted very graciously by all the staff, in the open air lobby, along with moist towelettes and a cold fruit drink, while were sat down to relax while checking in. Never before in any hotel did we ever get this level of service.
The General Manager, Yospat Chansawan, was hand selected for this family owned hotel to oversee operations and to personally assure that guests are pampered.
When guests arrive, they are told that breakfast is served when guests can enjoy breakfast at any time of day, and not restricted by timetable.
Mr. Chansawan, is very approachable and friendly, in fact over time we became friends. Friends can call him \"Rocket\". Not sure why, but I must ask.
When we return to Chiang Mai, there is no question as to where we will stay. Chankam Boutique will always be our preferred accommodations in Chiang Mai.

Inside the old city. Close by to most stuff.

Nice hotel inside the old city. Walking distance to the Saturday and Sunday market. Located on a narrow road so the songathew taxi cannot access but the tuk tuk were pretty cheap. Hotel had free bike rentals, although we didn't make use of them since we felt like it was safer to walk. Hotel had a nice open ambience. Room was okay but we did find a big cockroach on our wall one night. They also charged us for the water bottle in the room so don't be fooled it's not complimentary

Very convenient staff was wonderful.

First time stay in this hotel is kind of hard to find but when you know it. Its so convenient to go around. Staff all friendly and professional the hotel itself so beautiful. Very quiet and clean I recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Chiang Mai.

Beautiful hotel close to downtown

Location is close to all activities specially night market on Sunday.
The hotel was clean and the staff pleasant, however, it would be better that the staff speaks English. The breakfast and beverage prices were very expensive. For example: small cup of coffee was more than $3 and everywhere less that $1; the breakfast for one person was more than $8.

Overall the hotel was clean and the staff pleasant, however, we had a hard time communicating with the staff a lot of the time. There was definitely a language barrier but they really made the effort to find someone who spoke English when we needed it. The food and beverage prices were more than we experienced other places. It was cheaper to get a massage than a glass of wine!

Great little place in a convenient part of town

This place is adorable. Would absolutely stay here again. The hotel itself is well maintained, well decorated, and very clean. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to help you. They have a cold drink and cool towel waiting for you immediately when you arrive and they just keep going from there. Great location. Right off of a main road with a beautiful canal and lots of shops and Only a short/cheap tuk-tuk ride from the night market. They also have a delicious breakfast! We got it every morning we were here.
