A lovely little place just off the beaten track. Checked in after hours and had been sent a text with instructions so absolutely no hassles. Room was roomy. Bathroom has been renovated and was lovely. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Very quiet. A free breakfast was available in a central kitchen which felt just like home. Great touch.

Our hostess put the heating on for us so we arrived to a warm, inviting room and also arranged for us to check ourselves in on arrival. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom with a walk in shower and its own heater, we slept very well. We cooked ourselves toast, bacon and eggs in the communal kitchen with nice cups of tea from the supplied goods in the fridge. A great stay and we will definitely return.

Considering it was off the busy road it was super quiet, couldn’t here a car drive past. The bed was super comfortable and soft. The showers water pressure was amazing. We will definitely be coming back in the future

The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious enough for husband and I and our kelpi cross. Had jug, coffee/tea supplies and microwave which was great heating up food. Continental breakfast included in price setup in communal dining area if we wanted but didn’t need it. On site, a large fire pit/grass area where our dog could wonder/explore, midnite ‘pee’ breaks on leash/rope, great local walks/hike for us and dog. Spacious onsite parking. Woodend was 10mins from hotel which had Coles and lots of ‘pet-friendly’ restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed our stay. highly recommended this hotel.

Couldn't stay the 2 nights we had booked - no power in Macedon due to major storm damage through out Victoria. Staff were friendly, apologised & explained the situation-it was out of their control
Getting our money back was impossible !!! Will not to use these booking sites again.

Nice stop for one night. Hotel was quiet so they upgraded our room for free which was good. Clean, comfortable, plenty of parking. Nice DIY. breakfast. Only negative on a cold evening the heater struggled to fully warm the room.

Cute little roadside motel with a make your own breakfast option. Could have been cleaner (bug carcasses and cobwebs) but being this close to nature I expect a few interloper critters. End of spring and the heat was on, so we had to google the instructions for the heat/ac unit. Directions would have been nice. Come here for pleasure, not work, as the WiFi is free but very weak. Was honestly too tired to use the spa tub, but it was very clean! Nice people, great bed, cool little patio with an awning. Would surely stay here again!

Convenient hotel with family rooms

We were very pleased to find that the Black Forest Motel had family rooms when we wanted to visit Macedon overnight. We were delighted to find that breakfast was included and that it was a clever cook it yourself in a common area option which worked very well for our family of five.

Nice motel

Only stayed overnight but it was situated close to a function I had to attend. Other friends were also staying at this motel and we had a lovely communal breakfast in the outdoor/indoor kitchen area.
