Our stay was excellent at this hotel, everything was clean and functioning, the service was excellent the only minus thing was the breakfast. It has everything for a standard continental breakfast but most of the things were over cooked.

Good space with lots of room. Living area has separate AC and two couches, which were okay but not super comfortable. Deck with couple chairs and table, place to hang clothes, was a good size and we overlooked the pool. Bedroom had two singles pushed together with separate sheets but bed was comfortable and room had separate AC and large closet. Kitchen fridge was a little small. Had most kitchen necessities but not alot of extras. Cleaning service was good and shower had good water pressure and temperature. Laundry -washer and dryer-unit available for additional charge in basement-4 euros each wash- and soap available at front desk. Good parking in back area. Close to fig tree and other beaches along the coast- less than 5 minutes to closest beach. Nice area very walkable to many restaurants. Recommend Sonja Grill. Great value

We'd definitely stay there again.

We had a fantastic family holiday at the Alva.
It's in a great position central to all the many many restaurants ( with fantastic food and options), bars and shops.
The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and cleaned every day with fresh towels. The kitchen area is basic but funtional with an under counter fridge, toaster, kettle and a two pan electric hob. The air conditioning serves the room very well.
The pool area is good with a small bar.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. And it's literally a 2 or 3 minute walk to the beach.
The resort was pretty busy but it's a family resort so no idiots and wasn't very expensive to dine out (which we did every night). We thought it was cheaper than the canaries and some of the Greek island resorts we've been to.

So yeah, all in all it was perfect for us and would 100% stay there again if we were doing Cyprus.

The staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Management went above and beyond to make me happy. The day I checked out I lost a Diamond earring. The wine staff pitched in to help me find it AND THEY DID! I love Alva! I will return every year!

The hotel is perfectly situated, close to the beach and to shops and restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable and well designed, each with a private balcony. Location couldn't be better, it is close to Fig Tree Bay which is a fantastic beach, there is a bakery nearby that gives you fresh bread and loads of options for lunch. Lots of amusements for the kids, good ice-creams, everything in a short walk distance.
I stayed on room 209 which was perfect. It is facing the swimming pool and it is very quiet because it is also away from the street towards the back of the building. I'm not sure how the experience would be if I had ended up in a room facing the Love Boat Pub which is next door. It sounded quite noisy but I can't really say that would affect whoever were in those rooms.

Chose Alva Apartments as it was literally just across the road from the beach and in an area offering lots of restaurants etc, but more family orientated than Ayia Napa. Did not need to spend any more money on beach front hotel as accommodation provided all we needed including full kitchen and lovely pool area with bar/cafe. Didn't have breakfast as we had lazy mornings or early starts for trips so chose not to pay for up front, but were informed there if required. Good facilities to use when checking out and unable to keep room for a further day as other guests coming. Perfect!

Was delighted to be upgraded to a suite. Fabulous outlook from 4th floor. Lovely bathroom. Very comfy beds. Suite was fresh and light. Enjoyed our entire stay. Lovely staff, very friendly. Location was perfect. Everything on the doorstep, but quiet too.
If I returned I would make sure to try and book a suite as it made my holiday, however as long as the room was bright and well appointed I would be happy. Great happy hour around pool & later in restaurant ! Great value on cocktails!

We opted for the suite rather than the 1 bedroomed apartment - we had the option of both on arrival which was good of the hotel. Suite is much better, apartment didn't look that good if I am honest. Downside with the suite was that is open-plan and we had one of our kids with us! Receptionist on arrival was excellent - we had to pay an extra 15 Euros per night for our son, for some reason this hadn't come through when we booked the room. Hotel is on main street so is close to everything. We were supposed to have free Wi-fi but this was not the case.

We had a four day stay, attending a wedding. Location was excellent. Reception and Bar staff were all really helpful. The beach was extremely crowded and you needed to be there well before 9:30am to get the choice of sun beds. No free spaces just to place a towel as sunbeds go right up to sea.

We stayed at the Alva apartments from 11th to 18th of October. The suites are just beautiful and kept immaculately clean by the maids. I have never seen cleaning like it actually. When you have a suite, the safety deposit box and air conditioning are free which is great. The reception staff are really lovely, always smiling. The food is also excellent and we ate there 3 times in our stay. The only negative I would have is the swimming pool. There are 2 buildings and the pool is in the middle. It might not be so bad in the height of summer but unfortunately at this time of year, the pool is shaded for a good part of the day. It is absolutely freezing and indeed, this is the only holiday where I have not been able to swim. Maybe the pool should be heated in the winter months??? However this is the only problem I had in an otherwise fantastic holiday.

Have stayed here before. staff always friendly. Not happy about paying for wifi, and the air conditioning in the room was not very good at all. We only got our towels changed 2 times a week which i did not like. The breakfast was about average. Much better to eat out. The dinner though was excellent.

It's a shame our experience was so different compared to the previous year where it was so perfect. We had a room in the \"older\" block. Beds were uncomfortable. Room was right beside the lift which was very noisy. Our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor for the whole time we were there- we reported this serveral times and nothing was done to fix it- all we were given was an extra towel to put down. Hotel pool was mobbed everyday which resulted us going to the beach everyday. Beach was beautiful and across the road from the hotel. Didn't have much communication with the staff since we were in the other block but they were all still very friendly. Not a bad hotel, but wouldn't return for the price we paid. Lots of other hotels around the same area where it seems you get a lot more for your money.

This is our second time at the Alva and it was amazing again. The suites are just perfect with everything that you could want and location you are right on the strip and a 5 minute walk to fig tree bay. All staff are friendly and welcoming.
The only thing that needs improving is the pool area which I believe they are updating this winter.

Hotel was in a perfect location, we stayed in the older part which was fine for what we needed. Clean, spacious and close to everything we needed. The only downside to our room was that the air con in the living area wasn't working and the one in our room was very noisy and even when on the room was still very hot. I know the other side of the hotel has been updated and we saw someone else's room and it was lovely. I guess the old side may be updated soon. Air con was a must for the heat. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was nice. We didn't use the pool as were only on a short trip for a wedding, but the beach was a 2 minute walk and the sea was very warm. Lovely ice cream shop right next door to the hotel.

We had the best experience staying at Alva. The hotel staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. We had booked to stay for 10 nights in the standard apartment and when we arrived, we were greeted to be told that we had been upgraded to a suite. The hotel room was lovely and clean. Cleaners did an amazing job every day cleaning and they would give you fresh towels. The hotel had 1 hour free wifi slips that you could pick up at reception. Hotel Room also had a good hairdryer which is a bonus. The pool was nice and you could order food and drinks from the bar. Being so close to the pubs and restaurants we found that our room was so quiet and you could not hear a thing at night time. Beach is so close which is great you can have the option of both pool and beach. I don't think we could have picked a better hotel. 100% recommend this hotel! This was our first holiday and was ideal- this hotel would suite couples and families.

The hotel is just 2 minutes walk from the fig tree beach and in the center of Protaras with many restaurants, cafes, luna parks etc. It is clean with very friendly staff. There are 2 blocks. The first is recently renovated (it looks great), but we stayed in the other block that is good too.

Good facilities at a fair price

I stayed in the Alva Hotel Apartments in Protaras for three nights while attending a family wedding nearby. I was staying with my wife, toddler and baby. Alva had set up the room with two three-quarter beds, a roll-out bed for the toddler and a travel cot for our baby. The room felt recently renovated and was spotless. There was a small kitchen area with lots of useful appliances and utensils for a short stay (but nothing to clean the kitchen stuff with).

There were some minor niggles: a great shower but no bath (hard to bath a baby in a shower), our room was cleaned once in three days (but we didn't get fresh towels), there was a safe for valuables (but it cost extra, which felt a little like racketeering), there was free wifi in the lobby (but cost extra in our room), there are no pool towels available (bring or buy your own) and my favourite, a luggage cart confined to the lobby because it can't go upstairs or fit in the lift.

5 mins walk to the fab fig tree bay beach
we had room 202 (suite ) it was cleaned EVERY day for about 30 mins and we were supplied with fresh towels daily
pool was ok but we are beach people anyway. Staff were great and extremely friendly, they even have some cats milk n food
only down was the air con was not powerful enough beyond about 6am. We asked for a fan which was provided at no extra charge which helped massively

When booking we were not given the option of the upgraded rooms which are far superior to the block we stayed in. The new suites were excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending these but as for the old block.... No way! These rooms are ok the complaint we have is that they are not cleaned daily which is not acceptable as far as we are concerned. Our room was only cleaned three times during the week we stayed and towels only changed during these times.

Have just returned with my Husband and 2 teenage daughters from Alva Hotel in Protaras for the second time. The location is perfect at end of strip with Bars and a variety of eating places near by. The beautiful beach Fig Tree Bay is a 5mins walk away which we were lucky enough to over look . The swimming pool is clean and of a good size. My only negative is close by there is a kareoke bar . It doesn't go on much later than 1pm but if you have young children it could be a problem. Highly recommended would definately return .

The room was okay very old and tired looking. The bathroom was not very good and the shower went hot then cold.
The air conditioning did not work correctly. We reported it 3 times then gave up.
The staff were all very pleasant but when i needed some help they did not have a clue what to do. This was an admin problem so the office staff should have made more of an effort.
We had a lovely room with a view but the beds were very hard.

Choose the suite Very near to the beach

The suite is perfect. The hotel is very near to the beach, restaurants, pubs etc.

The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly.

Amazed by 5 Star tasting Food and friendly service

me and my girlfriend just came back from spending 2 weeks at this hotel , we stayed in the on suit room with the see view room 408....we loved it! the food was surprisingly amazing and the best place to eat on the strip....we ate out everywhere and soon discovered the hotel chef was the best in the whole of protoras i even said if he came to england he would be in a 5 star restaurant...The staff where so friendly always making sure we didn't need anything else .....the room was spotless and the place was clean...we will be going back every year for sure and would recommend this place to anyone....i would say make sure you get an onsuit room tho as they looked newly done up and the rest where slightly dated but amazing value for money :)

Lovely warm and welcoming hotel

NEW SUITES ALVA

These lovely rooms have been decorated to a high modern standard and are extremely clean fresh and bright.

The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, a hob, microwave, and utensils, a lovely clean fridge with an adequate freezer department. A lovely glass table with candles

Lounge area has a large sofa filled with chunky clean cushions , a modern coffee table was very helpful for drinks and snacks I particularly loved the bathroom with glass surrounds and a large pull down blind, two sinks the shower was powerful with a large head and a second lower shower was very handy, the tiles are neat clean.

The bedroom area was very spacious a comfy bed with a super mattress with lots of very good quality pillows, lights on the beside tables and electric sockets,large flat screened TV was placed on a low chest of drawers that could be turned to use either whilst chilling on the sofa or relaxing in bed, also to my surprise there was a powerful new hairdryer provided!!! (Thank you Alva), free combination safe in bottom of the large wardrobe was of good size.

All areas of Alva Hotel are maintained well and the bar area at front is relaxing and also very modern fresh and comfy.

Cannot fault the staff at all, always ready to assist with any enquiries and so very consistently friendly and helpful………..
A very big thanks you to the lovely cleaners for being so patient and did an excellent job in very warm conditions keeping the apartment perfect.

Home from Home

We booked a suite for 10 nights and was not disappointed with our stay. The suite was very clean and extremely comfortable. The shower was amazing and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need and enjoyed a good sleep every night. The air con was brilliant and well needed as it was really hot. Would definitely stay here again. Well done to Alva Apartments for these suites, worth every penny.

Nice hotel and great location!

We stayed in a nice studio apartment which was very convenient and had a nice view of fig tree bay. The pool is nice too. Warm staff
The location of this hotel is the best...

All in all we were happy with the hotel!

A semi renovvated hotel

I liked the location, the upgrade to suite and the hospitality.However the elevator is aged from ace age and the breakfast (which is extra) was poor. It is a value for money hotel.

Friendly and service minded staff.

Hotel Apartments located in the center of Protaras. Friendly and service minded staff. Nice beach close to the hotel. Very clean room. We were three persons in a one-bedroom apartment. Extra bed (sofa) for third person was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok, but the \"orange juice\" in the dispenser seemed to be diluted with a lot of water.
