Classy hotel in beautiful area

Really nice adult-only hotel in Protatas. Gorgeous modern hotel, comfortable rooms. Massive pool with a swim up bar. Right by the sea so it’s easy to go for a swim. It’s also round the corner from the madness of Fig Tree Bay so it’s a lot calmer (but a 10 min walk away if you do want a bit of fun). You get allocated a sunbed when you arrive so there’s none of that ‘towel reserving’, very civilised. Breakfast buffet is excellent, and a couple of restaurants are on site (we had burgers at the sports bar which were great they even had ‘Beyond’ Meat veggie burger so I was delighted. They gave us a late checkout when our flight got delayed. Overall, despite the slightly tacky name (sorry!) it’s a lovely hotel and I would recommend to others and definitely stay again.

Ideally situated a 10 minute walk to lots of bars and restaurants and the beach. Too busy to want to be on top of the main strip.
There is a small cove beside hotel if you want to swim in the sea. The beds by the pool are allocated of your choice for your complete stay so no obsession for reserving beds - what a great system. My only gripe was the indoor pool was absolutely freezing hence no one used it The lobby and seating areas were very uninspiring but overall hotel great and food good beds comfortable.

Nice hotel and lovely pool area, love the allocated sunbeds and there was a good amount of space between them so you weren’t too close to the neighbouring beds. Food at breakfast and lunch is excellent. It is a walk into the centre of Protaras but we found a short cut and it only took us around 7/8 minutes and taxis were very easy to get and cost €10 each way.
Reef bar was nice for a 5pm drink.
The big downside though was the issue the hotel seems to have with non residents coming in to use the pool / bar. There were a couple of incidents but the most concerning was when someone apparently from one of the villas behind came in in the morning, clearly already drunk / on something, started shouting and swearing at guests, getting into their faces, demanded the bar staff serve him drinks, then he ran around the pool area shouting, throwing glasses and being extremely racist to the pool attendant who was trying to get him to leave. This went on, on and off for about 2 hours. Only one lady from the hotel staff came out to try and get him to leave. Guests felt vulnerable and were worried how far it was going to go. People were taking videos and some guests were even trying to catch him. The police were apparently called but we didn’t see them. Whilst this wasn’t initially the fault of the hotel, the way the management dealt with it was appalling, there was no visible presence and no apology, just shrugging of shoulders.

I spend time choosing my hotel stays for specific requirements.
Two days into my stay at the Jade, I was told the owners had decided to close the hotel early, leaving me 3 days adrift of my planned departure date. I was told I could move to sister hotel the Pearl, which is close by and that hotel would arrange a taxi, which it did.
The Pearl is not an equivalent stay to the Jade. I was placed in a room directly over restaurant, with constant noise. Could not leave door to balcony open. The room stank of sickly sweet shake and vac style smell, which I couldn't get rid off, as room only had small door to outside, unlike my room at the Jade. Room service food was not great. Bed sheets felt damp. Outside, the sunbeds were all crammed together and hotel is overlooked on both sides. A few hours post arrival at the Pearl, I contacted Expedia and bought my return home forward 3 days. Not the relaxing holiday I was looking for. Will not return to either hotel as a result.

Hotel was as lovely and clean as when I first went there for when they opened in 2019.
Rooms are fab, amazing bed and generally all good.
Let down by the poor service, especially from the pool bar and restaurants. Receptionists were good and efficient.
Shame they didn’t recognise repeat clients though.
At this stage I’d probably stay back at their sister property again, however that has similar staffing quality!
Up the service level and it’s a five star.

Everything was good, except that waiters were breaking too much glasses or dropping things in the restaurant that were making noise, so that was a bit disturbing. I liked that they had a system in allocating sun-beds and one would know its place throughout the stay. The hotel was in the beach meaning one could go and swim in the sea but there was no sand and sun beds. This was not indicated in the description.

Lovely hotel but a few things let it down for being 5 stars. One is the cocktails, they were really poor quality and not at a level I would expect. The second is the beds, very soft, so if you like a firm bed your lower back will get hammered and there was nothing they could do about this. Facilities and breakfast was excellent. Food from their American diner average again. The nearest beach access was rocky, but lovely once in. Walk around .5km round the corner and you will find a gorgeous bay to swim in. Finally the sunbeds get assigned, but if you get to the hotel when it’s busy, you will be left with the worst options and you can only change when someone leaves.

the experience was great, I was greeted with welcome drinks and the staff at the reception were so helpful and friendly, everything was a question away, or a QR code away. I had the room with city view, but decided to upgrade to the sea view, best decision...
both pools are amazing, the staff at the pool are so helpful as well, very easy to get the assigned sunbeds and even easy to change them when needed. the pool bar is also so nice, the food at the restaurant was good, the ice cream place at the corner of the hotel (part of the hotel) was also nice .. The beach is so nice, very clam waters, swim far from shore and you will find huge rocks to stand and observe the surroundings (I advise you to buy the beach shoes from the store next to the reception), if you are lucky, you will encounter sea turtles.

You must stay here, the staff are amazing, nothing is too much and you are made to feel like one of the sunrise Jade family!
Our room (130) was clean and really modern, they give you free water everyday and chocolates and the first mini fridge is also free and is stocked with wine, soft drinks and beer.

The food at the hotel is really lovely, great selection at breakfast and within the restaurants the sunrise hotel group own.

The pool area is lovely, you are allocated your own sunbed all week so there’s no rushing to get towels down, they also supply your towels so you don’t have wet ones in your suitcase at the end of the holiday and it’s a nice size hotel anyway so never too busy!
The pool food and drinks are amazing especially the milkshakes and smoothies which are off menu but they can make!!

We’ve had the best time and will definitely be going back I’ve just got off the plane and I’m looking at dates for next year already!!

Unfortunately, we are extremely disappointed. This is not a 5-star hotel! It was not even close to our expectations. It is not about money, but the hotel is too expensive for what it has to offer (value for money = 0). Most importantly, such hotels can ruin people’s holidays. Some points to take into account:
-The pool area is nice, but this is all the hotel has to offer. There is literally nothing else. There is a very small bar in a corner of a big lobby area with a couple of tables. You cannot sit and relax there. We have never seen anyone sitting there during the 8-days period we stayed at the hotel. There are also three restaurants – the one was closed most of the days (opens only on the weekends). The American one is an independent restaurant outside the hotel (food quality – average). The third one is the one at the breakfast area – this is OK, nothing special. Hence, if you want to stay at the hotel, you may end up sitting all day at the breakfast area.
-The service at the pool area is very limited – the first five days of our stay there was no service. Personnel are friendly but not trained, service is far away from that of a 5-star hotel. In general, most of the hotel personnel are not trained, and occasionally we felt uncomfortable.
-No entertainment at all.
-Food quality is average.
-Breakfast area is small and it can get crowded, especially the one in front of the chef.
-The chef is quite rude, at some point his behaviour made us feel uncomfortable.

My wife and I staid at the hotel for 5 days and it was the most amazing vacation we had. I am travelling on business and am about 180 nights a year in hotels; since 35 years. The staff at the sunrise jade hotel was amazing!!! I rarely give positive feedback as there is rarely just positive feedback to give. However, my wife and I want to thank the all the staff during our stay from June 11 to June 15, such as Malvina, Elena, Mariusz, Nicos, Giannis and all the others, which gave us smiles, outstanding services and a great vacation! My wife and I highly recommend this hotel. Besides the staff the hotel facilities are outstanding, the pools, gardens and beach access fantastic. Staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Hotel is in a lovely quiet position and easy walking distance to main resort of Protaras. Nice long walks along the coast both ways but take trainers for rough ground. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Took half board option and staff in dining room very helpful in identifying gluten free options, including providing gluten free bread. Good range of food but would have liked to see more Greek pastries on offer at night. Easy to switch to lunch with a la carte menu and great food. Option to take meals out in other linked restaurants in town and next door. Be aware that there is a surcharge on meze at the Kyklos restaurant, and on steaks at Reef restaurant which reception may not mention. Didn't try the Fine Dining option at Ginger and there is an 18 Euro allowance on meals there. Highly recommend the Reef and Brazilian restaurant but not Kyklos as food standard was not as good, and we enjoyed much better Cypriot food elsewhere . Service everywhere was excellent. Sun beds are allocated at the start and you can ask to move as beds become available when guests leave. It does mean you may be stuck with a position that you don't want for a day or so. Would be very happy to go again.

This is a new hotel opened in April/May 2019. There were a few minor problems which I am sure will be ironed out. This is an ADULTS only hotel which was great. Go for a sea view room on 4th/5th floor room 413 onwards. All staff were great and a credit to Sunrise. 2 pools and a small sandy beach within 25 metres with fantastic snorkelling. We went B&B and breakfast was of a very good standard. Reef restaurant next door and linked to hotel was excellent. Sun beds are allocated on arrival for your stay but are flexible if there is availability. Hotel is ideally placed out of Protaras, but a leisurely 10-15 minutes walk to restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and refreshing holiday

The bedrooms were amazing .. very comfortable beds and wonderful bathrooms .. would recommend a higher floor for a good view. The location was perfect with its own access to the sea and a 10 minute walk to the strip. The pool area and sunbed allocation were excellent. All the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside were the changing rooms on the last day which were very small and didn’t meet the standard of everything else. Would definitely come again.

There really was nothing to dislike about the Sunrise Jade, the staff were amazing, always friendly and smiling, wanting to assist, both in the hotel itself and around the bar and pool area, it felt more like a large family. The hotel and grounds are in superb condition having only been opened in April, hopefully they keep it maintained to this high condition going forward. The food in the hotel was great, we have had some poor experiences with buffets on holidays but we cannot complain here, so much variety and cooked well, chefs on hand to do the extras for you at breakfast and dinner, whenever they can accommodate they will. The two pools are large and nearby cove was a delight to swim in, so clear. Unfortunately I was too short to join in with the water aerobics in the main pool which, the shallower end was just a bit too far away. Having allocated sunbeds which had very comfy cushions and tailor made towels which can be changed daily, is a fabulous idea, no stressing when going down to the pool that they will all be covered by somebody's towel!!!!! We stayed in a sea view room and I would recommend this when booking, stunning view! The room was almost perfect, large and well decorated and equipped, although the mini bar was not very cold which we did report but perhaps they didn't have time to get it fixed before we left. That was the only thing we could perhaps moan about, but no big issue really. All in all we hope to come back in the future, thank you.
