Was a very nice stay in one of the Suites. Great location and access to restaurant. Style is a bit dated with a late 70’s minimalist and hostel feel. Room was as pictured, in fact bigger than. My only comment was the bathroom sink, it needs a redesign and it was a mess to even wash one’s hands or brush the teeth. The is one complaint I have, the hotels transportation service, Welcome Pickups, is terrible, we were stuck at the airport on arrival for 45 minutes waiting for a driver that told us to wait outside in the cold. One would expect a person to be waiting for you, not one that has you call when you get there.. they were supposed to monitor the flights… and on the departure, the Welcome Pickups drive left use in the arrival area parking lot where we had to struggle with our luggage and then when we find the departure area upstairs, there is an area in front where taxi’s can drop you off at the entrance… i guess the drivers do not have airport taxi permits.. with this said, if you do not have a bit of luggage, i would consider just booking a cab on arrival or via bolt… so much for attentive transport

The service of the staff was amazing. Staff was welcoming and did what they could to assure our comfort. The rooms are spacious but slightly dated. The rooms could use some attention to detail such as ceiling paint. Other than that, our stay was cozy.

But if I get a chance to visit Budapest again, I won’t be searching any other hotels, it will be this same hotel.

This hotel has a great location.

The rooms are perfectly fine for a few day visit. My shower in the bathroom was very large and felt luxurious.

The Air conditioning in my room worked great.

The only complaint that I have is that my room did not have a coffee maker. Apparently, this was noted in the room details but it seems like a standard feature for most hotels. There is a coffee machine in the lobby, but nice to have one in your room as well.

There is a fantastic restaurant on the first floor of the building that the hotel is in that is a must try! Great food, service and atmosphere.

- A very foul smell running through the corridor into our room which interrupted our sleep throughout the stay and could not get proper rest.
- There were no locks for bathroom door, and they were quite outdated. On one instance one of us got locked inside and we had to wait roughly 20 minutes to get the help needed. This resulted in excessive panic and hyperventilation for my friend who was locked inside.
- Our bedding was not changed even once during our 4 nights stay. Although I appreciate that this could be how they operate, but we requested for the bedding to be changed.
- We were unable to open the attic doors and there was no aid provided for the same. This was much needed due to the ever-present foul smell in the room.
- There was only one glass in the room (for 3 people) and even upon requesting, they would not adhere to it.
- It was quite unacceptable that there were towels with hair locks which I took to the desk and they seemed fairly unapologetic about the same.
- There was no tea or coffee bags in the room and we had to always fetch them ourselves on a daily basis. This is a basic amenity in the most basic of hotels.

Great boutique hotel in the heart of Budapest. Very well located, with all the main sightseeing spots within just a few kilometers. Naturally, being downtown and close to the nightlife area, it can be a bit noisy. Improving the windows and doors would make it even better.

The room facilities were excellent, including a jacuzzi and sauna right in the room — such a perfect way to relax every evening.

Budapest is a fantastic city with great food and amazing sights.

Wonderful location to be able to walk Budapest. The front desk was fantastic offering local dining options, places to see with a review of the area on a map. We had a welcome drink on arrival and they always had treats available by the front desk including candy, cookies, pretzels, nuts, coffee, tea, and water. Our room did not overlook the restaurant so it was quiet. I've read some had noise problems overlooking the restaurant.

I stayed at this hotel in Budapest for three days, and overall, it was quite a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the restaurant on the ground floor is very convenient and offers great quality food. One of the highlights is definitely the fantastic location, within walking distance of many great restaurants and lively spots.

However, there were a couple of issues that impacted our stay. Firstly, the air conditioning on the second floor of our suite wasn’t working properly. Then, after maintenance was done on the first floor, we ended up losing air conditioning there as well on the afternoon of our third day. The staff did their best to make up for the inconvenience and were very friendly, but at the end of the day, you do expect to sleep comfortably in a hotel.

In summary, it’s a nice place with a lot of potential, but it would be great if they could improve their maintenance to avoid similar issues in the future.

Where to start? Walking into the lobby and seeing the indoor four-story greenhouse like restaurant is awesome. The reception was great, the room was great, and it checked off two of my most important needs in a hotel: solid water pressure in the shower and a great bed.

The staff were really friendly which I can’t fault, and the hotel was nice and good value for money overall. Location was great. The bathroom had a real drain issue though which I guess is to be expected with no window in there and poor ventilation but it smelt really bad (to be fair though we didn’t raise this to staff). The sofa was also quite uncomfortable and the tv remote didn’t work which we did raise but it wasn’t fixed. But for what we paid I thought the hotel was good value!

Mostly happy with my stay

For the price I paid and the short duration of my stay, I was very happy. However the room itself required a bit of TLC, many of my gripes are likely me being a bit picky. That said, the pictures online made my expectations slightly higher than what I experienced, particularly in terms of room maintenance and attention to detail.

That being said, I’d stay again if I could secure a similar rate in the future. Budapest itself is absolutely stunning and easily one of my favourite cities I’ve visited so far—I can’t wait to return!

The rooms like really nice but if you get one that has multiple stories the air conditioning doesn’t work properly on the top floor. Also they don’t make the pull out beds unless you tell them in advance or you have to wait until the next day. The night staff is absolutely useless. They don’t ship out packages for you

I booked a PRESIDENTIAL SUITE in this hotel, one would think in a 4* hotel that must be the best room and the service would be excellent. Well, no. There was 3 stories in the suite which is absolutely amazing and a great value I always stay in 5* hotels but I saw the pictures of this hotel immediately wanted to book this suite for a special occasion! This hotel is NOT A 4 STAR. The rooms are DIRTY the carpet was WET from the previous guests, first I thought maybe they cleaned the carpet with a wet vacuum.. no. That water was coming FROM THE BATHROOM!! Years of WATER DAMAGE ON THE WALLS! After taking a shower,I understood what’s happening:the shower had serious problems with drainage all the water ENDED UP ON THE CARPET IN THE ROOM!Imagine staying in a presidential suite and having to tiptoe around a MASSIVE water hole on the carpet going from the bedroom all the way to the hallway! The downstairs bathroom wasn’t any better.it literally smelled like URINE (upon checkin) I understand this is an old property renovated into a 4* hotel but the quality of the drainage system is something they should IMMEDIATELY fix because it totally ruined my experience!I contacted of course the management:”we don’t have another room for you”but the receptionist (not a maintenance person) came and manually fixed the drainage in one of the bathrooms.I was told the management would contact me for a compensation.NEVER HAPPENED!Stay away potential health hazard with the mold horrible service

Wonderful stay at this hotel. We were in a suite, which was spacious and quirky (we even had a turntable and selection of vinyl). The layout of the suite allowed for privacy when downstairs was being used as a sleeping area too. We were booked bed & breakfast and enjoyed the breakfast choices. The staff could not have been more helpful, especially reception. I would confidently recommend this hotel.

The room was amazing, especially the jacuzzi and the vertical garden surrounding it. The film camera in the room was a nice touch! Staff were lovely and helpful. The restaurant in the building (Twentysix) is beautiful, with great food and a unique atmosphere; the downside is that the restaurant gets incredibly hot in the summer, and there’s very little ventilation… Since this is where you’ll be eating breakfast, I’ve deducted one star - if you’re struggling with high temperatures like I am, you might want to consider visiting in the spring instead.

Worth paying for spacious room

The location: about 10 min walk from the nearest train or tram station, and a bit far if you have a heavy luggage.
The room: very spacious and clean enough quiped with good quality amenities (molton brown).
The staff: very friendly and helpful.

on my first night at the hotel, I came back after midnight to find people were asleep on the floor in front of reception, smoking cigarettes and drinking indoors with food openly on the floor and strewn about in the reception office with no hotel employees present.

My rooms lock was broken then they put me in another room and the ac was broken and not working. they gave me a fan.

I tried to get out of my reservation and move to another hotel but they asked me to call Expedia to manage this since I had booked via their service. Expedia said they would handle it and when I checked in for my next room which was a suite there was no air conditioning either in that unit. Expedia told me that everything would be okay and that they would help me through the experience but they lied and I had to sleep on a couch in a friend's suite which had air conditioning the entire stay.

Expedia did not help me resolve the situation. I paid for a luxury suite that I did not use and I would not recommend either using Expedia or Stories hotel as an option in Budapest. There are plenty of options out there so spend your money wisely with another booking service and another hotel.

Hotel was in a great location . Room was very big as was the bathroom. Great shower. It was very clean. We were in a loft type room . The stairs were not carpeted. They were were metal steps. You could hear people up and down the stairs in their rooms all the time which was annoying at night. We had problems with the wifi one morning and the morning ( 6am) we left there was no hot water. Other than that morning there was no issue at all with hot water.
Eventhough the steps look good and makes the room look great it would be better to carpet them.

Everything about the hotel is amazing.

Location 10-15min from the river, 10-15min from the main park and sightseeing castle.

over the road from one of the main Ruins strips of bars/restuarants.

5 mins from 1 main fashion street shopping area.

The hotel has such an amazing ( jungle bar ) the place is stunning.

Service from all staff was exceptional and very friendly.

The room ( Junior suite ) was a great choice, very comfortable for 4 people.
There's 2 beds on a upper floor.
The beds were very comfortable and the room had everything you need.

I can't wait to come back and bring my wife! I wont look anywhere else.

There was a lot of space, loads of cool quirks in the rooms like free Polaroid camera, a record player. Fresh popcorn in the lobby which made the place smell nice.

It is in the heart of the entertainment district so rooms facing the street to bring in quite a bit of noise from the bars below, but it was manageable.

It is centrally located which is a major plus with easy access.
I had to wait 20 minutes for the receptionist to show up to check in, she was very pleasant, personable and apologetic. When I checked out no one asked me how my stay was! Surprisingly odd this dat and age of customer service and competition.
The door frame to me room, needs immediate attention, it is is il fitting and for all the security within the hotel, the room was not secure. Each time the door was closed, one had to slam it shut and plaster would fall off. As for cleanliness, the cleaning showed up at 5pm to clean the room the 1st day and 3pm the 2nd day. Again very unusual!
I asked for a late check out as their rules are 11am check out, I was told that it was not issue until 2pm at a cost of 30 Euros!! I passed, as I have never had to pay for a late check out!
I did write to management and as yet still awaiting a response!
All in all, I doubt very much if I will return to this hotel and cannot recommend it.

Service issues.

Nice hotel 2 floors up in a very glam building with a beautiful restaurant on the ground floor.

The room was nice albeit small.

The main issue I had was the service or lack of it. Check in was rather laboured, inefficienct and curt.

When I went to check out at 7 am reception was unattended. The taxi I asked them to book never booked.

No was was around to help at all.

Very very poor.

The hotel was amazing it’s located in a very nice part of Budapest surrounded by nice restaurants and walking distance from the center of the town. The hotel manager a lady was amazing she made us feel at home while looking after us and taking care about our wishes. I can truly recommend this place. for his originality . like home far from home

Incredible hotel in the perfect location.
Room was amazing, bed extremely comfortable. Very powerful shower.
Lots of amazing bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk away.

Hotel was beautifully run with helpful, knowledgeable staff, generous amenities - including free breakfast either in the restaurant or brought to one’s room - quiet location but so well situated in the city center, Pest. Airport public bus station Is a five-minutes’ walk. Sights, eateries, atm machines, grocery stores drug stores are all within easy reach. To sum up, Stories Hotel is the best!

Excellent location and finished to a very high spec and standard. Would definitely recommend and stay again if I ever visit Budapest again! Shame water was cut off one day due to emergency maintenance other than that great stay and great service!

Great location spacious lofts with unique touches of a boutique hotel. Would recommend staying here again. Only issue was construction in the building began at 7am which was a bit disturbing.
