Truly a must for families with small kids

I was looking for a family friendly weekend getaway and Amber Springs came highly reccommended. It did not disappoint. My 1 year-old had a blast and me and my partner got to actually relax and not feel apologetic because of a crying baby in restaurants. Food was surprisingly good and all the staff was so friendly and nice. We also had a lot of fun doing archery. The train wasn't a hit, my little guy was too young to enjoy, but other kids (prob 3 to 5 yo) seemed to have fun. We'll definitely go back!

Just not a great selection of food i dont think menu is quite small and they dont serve tea and coffee after 6pm so you will need to go do it in ur room some rooms have fridges some dont

Very short walk to restaurants pubs and shops if u drive about 3mins in a car
Lovely chinese restaurant right beside it where chadwicks is is really nice too

Not worth the price they charge. Room was very dirty. Bed throws full of stains. Hairs on pillows and bathroom floor. Stains on walls in room. Only 1 lamp was working. Beds were very uncomfortable. Room seemed quite run down. At breakfast cups and glasses were also filthy. Definitely would not stay again.

Pros:
Excellent hotel for families with young kids, lots of activities onsite, all designed to keep kids busy all day long, breakfast was decent, dinner was ok (quality & service varied depending on the night), rooms were comfortable, lots of car parking, reception staff & tuck shop woman were very friendly. Also, close to the beach, waking trails and nearby shops.

Cons:
Glasses & cups weren't changed daily, 2-3 towels left daily in a family room for 4 people, wall was repaired but plaster not properly painted over, families can't use the pool before 9am and after 6.30pm, one movie was very outdated (American Tale from 1986 was nearly 40 years old!), two mains arrived cold on one night, Sensory Room was €20 for 45mins but no fee is mentioned on the website.

Amazing hotel for young kids

Have been here twice now and would easily recommend to anyone who has young kids. My Son (almost 4) and I stayed for 3 nights having spent a similar amount of time there back in March. Great hotel, such friendly staff, lovely rooms and amazing facilities for families. The breakfast is absolutely superb with an amazing choice options and the main hotel restaurant has a great kids' menu.

My Son's favourite thing to do was run around with other kids in the soft play, as well as spending as much time as possible in the pool! We also did the Halloween train which was brilliant and so worth the money.

I probably wouldn't come to the hotel if I didn't have any kids as it seems so geared towards families and the restaurants will always have kids about (if you're not into that type of thing), but it was absolutely perfect for what we wanted and I will definitely be going back again! Also great value for money as we went the week before mid-term break.

When we booked these dates we didn't expect the hotel to be predominately full of children of all ages as it was still term time. On the whole they were pretty well behaved but the noise in the restaurant and the running about was very off putting. We like to relax and enjoy meals in a quite atmosphere. After breakfast the first morning i spoke to the restaurant manager and he said it is always like this! He very kindly arranged for a transfer to your sister hotel,Ashdown Court.This was the type of hotel we are used to and we really enjoyed our stay.

Myself and my fiance and 2 1/2 year old son stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.. we have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is by far the best.. from the moment we checked in to checking out everything was 100 percent perfect.. the hotel was spotless and the staff were so friendly.. everything that could be done to make the stay brilliant.. under covid-19 conditions.. the kids activities were amazing and the staff cleaned every go kart after every go.. to say we were impressed was an understatement.. the staff went aband beyond.. it was so go we are going back for the santa experience this year..

We arrived around 2.30pm and chanced checking in early... There wasnt any room available but we checked in and the lady said ill ring you once your room is ready..we went down to the indoor play area with the kids and received a call at 3pm to collect our room key...

We booked into the den family suite, it was very spacious and the kids loved the bunk beds.

Staff were very friendly and even with covid restrictions everything went smoothly with little wait times...

Amber park is great and only a small charge of €3 for mini golf, go karts and the amber train. The kids loved the little pet farm.

Overall we loved the amber spribgs and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Great for kids, staff all lovely. The rooms worked so well that we could watch TV at night without disturbing toddler. Babysitter knew how to get Netflix on, that would have been handy had we known. We somehow never made it to the pool but got great use out of Cinema and playzone. We had a lovely meal in Farm. We never got to try the Italian so it'll be first on our list next time. We had a nice bit to eat in the bar the day we arrived and breakfast we lovely both mornings.

I don't feel either of us are very fussy in this regard but we both found the beds very hard, we didn't sleep great. The sink in the bathroom was draining very badly on arrival, I'm surprised no-one picked up. This was not addressed when the room was serviced and just a couple of other things (bigger pieces of dirt on floor, red wine glass mark on table etc) which weren't cleaned well. Room service was OK (2 x burger and chips). Chips not very fresh, burgers a little dry. Ceaser salad that I had in bar was very heavily dressed and the chunks of chicken not overly appealing.

We all really enjoyed our stay. Had a everything we wanted no need to leave the hotel. The breakfast was really nice but being put in an annexe style room when there was plenty of spaces in main room, came across as rude and made us feel discriminated, like we weren’t good enough to be seated in the main hall. The next day we were back in the main breakfast room but it definitely changed how we felt about the place. A shame to treat paying guests like that.

Amber springs is an amazing hotel for families! We have 6 & 4 year olds and a 4 month old. We were given a suite where there was room for two more children. The room had everything we could possibly need and they even had welcome chocolates and cakes with a note for each of us and wishing our 4 year old a happy birthday. They go to great lengths to ensure every room is unaffected by outsude noise too which is particularly important with kids.

The facilities are fantastic for kids, swimming pool, cinema, outdoor activities, petting farm and lots more! The kids were never bored.

Food was delicious too!

Can't recommend amber springs more as a family destination!

I travel a lot in thus part of Ireland and it was the first time I had used the Amber Springs, it is easily located just off the motorway and ideal for most of the East Coast of Ireland. I had an executive room which was way beyond what I expected for size and comfort. I arrived late but although the kitchen was just about to close they stayed and prepared a meal for me which was very good. Breakfast in the morning was also very good with a lot of choice and the hot food was particularly enjoyable. The staff, from the front desk to the kitchen were very friendly, I would definitely recommend and will return

Fabulous hotel and the food was amazing. Rooms was huge and comfortable but there were machines on the roof outside the window which constantly made noise and made it difficult to sleep. Rooms need improvements because the shower is too low down for anyone over 6 foot and there isn’t even a shelf in the shower. TV is also tiny with poor sound and picture and makes a mockery of the large suite.
Fantastic idea with filtered water available beside the lifts and a jug + glasses provided in the room.

We arrived later than planned on a sat nite at 8:40. We were told upon checking in that the restaurant was closing at 9pm. We quickly dropped our bags and made our way down to the bar and grill. We were met by a young guy and when we asked for menus and a table we were told that "the kitchen closes at 9 were we only planning on having a main course"? Went for a rest ! meal times were a nightmare screaming kids and parents one even sick over table and floor one evening only cleaned up by mother with tissues !!!!!
May i suggest a separate area for couples or adults ?
Staff run off their feet in a very busy week of the hotel full ,all very pleasant .Annoying to wait for table at doorway for a long time while leader ?helped to serve, clean up ect. should have been only talking to guest and their needs .
Worried about cleaning cloths used on tables seemed to be the same every day (breakfast) and spray not used between sittings .In our local
the staff wipe down on a regular basis with a bowl of clean fresh disinfectant and clean J cloth .
Over-all wouldn't come again seemed like a posh Butlins .!!!!

Top class hotel.

I was staying in the hotel for a family wedding, the rooms are spacious, clean, warm and tidy. The Staff in the hotel are top quality, friendly, polite, eager to assist, I couldn't say a bad word about any one of them. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights, we got fresh towels and bottled water in our room every day.

The hotel is family oriented, and it has wonderful facilities, from the kids play rooms, cinema, playground, farm area, go karting and crazy golf to name but a few, also a swimming pool and spa area, unfortunately I didn't get to make use of the spa area.

Other hotels should take note of the excellent facilities this hotel has to offer, it is a top quality hotel with nothing but the best of the best.

I have an allergy to onions and the staff, manager and chef made every effort not to cook my food anywhere nears onions, and constantly made sure I was ok with my food choices. Others at the wedding reception also had gluten and coeliac intolerance and yet again the dedication to ensure their needs were met was second to none.

This hotel and it's staff is an excellent facility, night time music in the bar, it's a wonderful place for a wedding, weekend away with the kids, I cannot fault this hotel, I have stayed in many properties around the world and this one rates in the top 3!

A round of applause is deserved for Management and Staff for their excellent care they take of guests and the hotel.

I love that it's so kid friendly, it's like a family resort in Spain, seeing so many families walking around, lots to do for my kids - Pet farm, Amber train (which wasn't long enough!), Kids club and Cinema. Best family hotel we've ever being to.

Meeting up with friends

I had booked a twin with walk in shower, but was given a twin with shower over bath. Eventually we reached a compromise and had an upgrade to executive room huge double bed with a walk in shower.To me I don't think there is much difference, other than a large room with plenty of space to move around. Great place for families, but for an elderly couple very noisey at meal times.

I loved Amber Springs , amazing for children I go there every year , supposed to have a king bed but it was double .One problem I had was going for my breakfast some of my family went ahead so I followed with my daughter an the Chinese lady put her arm out straight in front of me to stop me going in which really annoyed me I was hardly robbing the breakfast took away from my stay .
