We had a fantastic weekend with you The lodge was quiet and pleasant. The hotel was busy both evenings with a wedding and after(hurling?) match but bar and waiting staff were coping admirably and had time for us. The food both evening and breakfast were first class. We would certainly come again if we visit the area

Both nights we stayed there was a lot of noise. The first night (Sat) shouting in the corridor,3am, Sunday night someone continually knocking on one of the doors around 2am. The bathroom I thought was spotless until I put a wet towel over the top, a load of hair floated down. The bed wasn’t made properly as the bottom sheet was too small and kept slipping down, it didn’t look too white either. The breakfast and dining were lovely and so were the staff.

Billed as the oldest hotel in Ireland (est. 1608), the property does not reflect its age. It is in good shape, conveniently located, with nice facilities and a nice staff. The pub had live music and a rollicking scene on a Monday night. I’d stay there again.

Woodenbridge Lodge Golf Break

I stayed in the Lodge with a girl friend - we were on a golfing break - From we arrived the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating starting with the receptionist who checked us in -she booked our golf courses and times and was very helpful - the cleaning staff were very friendly and very helpful - the restaurant and bar staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble - there was music in the hotel three nights we stayed and we enjoyed a dance or two - we dined in the hotel two nights and in the BBQ area of the Lodge one night food was good but I have to say the home made Lasagne was excellent - rooms were a bit tired and dated - curtains need replacing - there was no fridge in our room but we were given one when we asked for it maybe all rooms should have a fridge and a sun chair or two on the balcony would have been nice - all in all it was excellent value for money and we enjoyed our stay and our golf -

We stayed in the lodges at the woodenbridge for one night. Service was 110%, couldn’t fault. Food was a very low standard, especially the dinner and extremely over priced for what was on the plate. Room lovely, bed comfortable. Live music Saturday night, excellent atmosphere. Couldn’t be in an nicer location, walk to the local Avoca village, under 10k there and back. Beautiful kites flying low.
Price of stay too expensive but enjoyed our stay.

I stayed in the Woodenbridge on Saturday12th July. I booked it as a surprise for my Mum as we have both being unwell.

The lodge is run down, needs upgrading.

I made a formal complaint with the manager the next morning due to our bathroom smelling so bad of urine. We could not use the facilities the following morning. Our balcony looked out onto a car, the fan in the bathroom was so loud that we could use the light during the night.

I have not as much as heard back from the Woodenbridge about my complaint, this is highly unprofessional. It completely ruined our weekend and we both went home upset.

A hide away in the Vale of Avoca not to be passed

Have stayed here many time over the past number of years a great place to return to so peaceful and tranquil
We spent 1 night my wife and i over the Easter bank holiday last.
Food in the bar that night was great staff are excellent rooms were clean and tidy on arrival.
The only problem i found was the bed was the nearest thing to a park bench to sleep on.
Over the previous years the beds were fine though so maby this is one is due replacement.
Beyond that i can highly recommend a stay at Woddenbridge Hotel.

i thought i was staying at the main hotel however i checked my booking again. they were correct id been allocated a lodge. This was down in a valley were I had no pgone signal. I have 2 arthritic knees so I couldnt go to reception without driving to it. we went for Dinner. Bog standard stuff..€119 for 3 meals 1 dessert. staff friendly enough. just wouldnt stay there again.

Food menu had plenty of delicious options for to suit everyone and the meal we had was served up in good time and was cooked to perfection . The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only gripe was that the bar area included the dining room. I associate old hotels with cosy intimate bars. Overall its a good place and good value for money

I would highly recommend Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious (even though the ribs were served on a ‘bread board’, I’d like a good old fashioned plate please). The bedroom itself was clean, plenty of space In the bathroom, however when the light is turned on, the extractor fan comes on too and does sound like a ‘tractor’.......
Overall experience was excellent, I’d stay again.

This was a great hotel and the staff wee so friendly. We were well looked after despite a late booking. The stay was ruined unfortunately by a very loud party of golfers who did not seem to care ho much noise they made during the evening and certainly not when going to their rooms between 2am and 3am!

That said if you do not want a quiet experience, the food was excellent and as i have said the staff went beyond their remit to look after us.

OK except for noisy neighbours, group of young guys made a lot of noise into the night, although after complaining staff took action.
Restaurant was extremely warm and uncomfortable. Bed mattress felt cheap and not very comfortable. Area very nice though.

Stayed in The Lodge across the road. Returned to the hotel restaurant and bar, entertainment etc. One of the best and most scenic 18 Hole golf courses in Ireland is beside the hotel. Also of interest to many will be the World War 1 Museum.
