The guesthouse is nice enough but the staff were standoffish to begin with. There was an unexpected extra charge for my dog to stay. They had their large dogs roaming freely, which was intimidating to nervous dogs on leads. The shower in our room was old and complicated to use. I forgot an expensive orthopaedic pillow at the guesthouse and requested it to be sent to me. The owner assured me he had it, charged me €35 and sent an old battered cushion with no cover at a cost of €9. Overall the stay was ok, but the owner was barbaric

What a charming B&B! A total surprise. It’s tucked in a beautiful farmland, yet very close to towns and cities. Svetlana kindly upgraded our room to a suit. Everything was perfect. The breakfast has many options with freshly baked scones, French omelet, pancakes, oatmeal and other goodies. We enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend the Clone House.

This is a restored house out in the country, a very peaceful setting with a beautiful garden. The room was clean and bed comfortable. It is owned by a man from California who didn't introduce himself until the morning we were leaving. His wife showed us to our room with very minimal introduction. There was really no place to open a suitcase or store anything outside the suitcase in terms of shelves. There was a closet but it only had 2 or 3 hangers and again no place to put our things. So we ended up with our suitcases on the floor and trying to just get things out of there. There was a huge tub which took up the majority of the space in the bathroom so the shower and toilet areas were tiny. There was no shampoo or solid soap available. The breakfast was just ok. The fresh cooked omelet was good but the porridge tasted very stale and the fruit salad looked like it had been reused for a few days. For the price we paid (around $260 and after peak season), I felt it was very overpriced.

This historic property is in a beautiful setting but I would recommend driving to it via the town of Woodenbridge. Coming from the other direction is long and tedious. The owners were very helpful, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and filling. The plumbing needs some attention. The shower had little pressure and we could not get hot water from it and the sink faucets leaked.

Lovely country hotel and location

Perfect location in the middle of the countryside, lovely rooms and service. Very pet friendly which was a real treat for us and our Retriever. We were able to work for a few hours during the day, and get our morning and evening walks in the gardens and wider countryside.
Looking forward to the next trip back already.

We were able to see the beautiful grounds in the morning and it was fabulous. The breakfast was great and very good. Wish we had planned on being in this area longer as the place is worth the visit.

Absolutely peaceful, beautiful property and those Airedales just made our stay ten times more memorable. Svetlana and Jeff do a great job making you feel right at home in this gorgeous property. It is away from towns which is what we needed after three days in Dublin. BUT! Don’t let this fool you as we had the best meal at the Woodenbridge Hotel (8 min drive)… so you have options. Lovely place!

We stayed here for three nights. Part if its charm is that it is off the beaten track. Beautiful house and gardens. Quiet and relaxing, comfortable room. The shower was barely adequate but this is an old building. We had problems with a duff hire car but the owner and staff were very helpful. Great hospitality. Recommended.

Stayed here just one night. The property is a little hard to find but once there, you are greeted by the best dogs ever! The property is nice, although parts need a lot of tending/work. The room was fine. It was very clean, which is most important. However, we booked a room for 3 (one child) the cot provided for a 12 y.o had seem much better days. It was more like an army cot. Breakfast was terrific and the hostess was lovely. Not much to do around there but it is a beautiful part of the world.

We loved the charming atmosphere of Clone House. The decor was lovely , our room and bathroom we're clean and comfortable, and the grounds had well maintained gardens with several peaceful areas to sit to take in the beautiful countryside. Breakfast was wonderful with several choices daily. Fresh pressed coffee, homemade scones and fresh fruit and yogurt on top of what you ordered, made a great start to the day. The host was friendly and willing to recommend local spots for sightseeing and dining. We highly recommend Clone House and would rebook here the next time we come to Ireland!

Stay was ok, old properties require lots of maintenance which was lacking here. Toilet seat only fixed one side, pull cord for light too short - wife unable to reach it, bath overflow Heath Robinson, outside decor very poor. Main problem for us was room not serviced on one day of our stay. Many people will not be used to old properties and aware of the indoor window shutters (no curtains) and whereas we were fine an explanation would have been nice. On the plus side a great deal of work is being done in the gardens and there are lots of seats in different locations, breakfasts were good with good products. Very peaceful, comfortable lounge. The property has great potential and as work progresses it will become a really nice and fascinating place to stay

Seems a nice old house but I'm afraid without any heat the room is extremely cold and damp. My wife and I decided not to stay as there was no way that the place could be brought to a level of heat and comfort that would ensure that we could get a nights sleep. In fact we felt that stay in winter time in the room could damagfe outr health.
We informed the owner of our decision to leave and felt that some form of reduction in charge seeing that we would not be about for breakfast might be forcoming. We were wrong. It might be oaky in Summer time.

Toilet light didn't work. Floor paint flaked off onto bare feet in the bedroom. No one around when arriving or leaving. Had to wander around to find the host. Building needs a tidy up and a paint. Beautiful setting.

Loved our stay at Clone House. We spent 3 days here with our little pet dog. Staff very friendly, professional and willing to help meet any of our needs. Quiet, relaxing stay at Clone House and a short drive to lots of amenities in the surrounding region. We were lucky enough to be offered an optional in-house dinning experience which was fantastic. Clone House is perfect for anyone looking for a pet friendly get-away.

If you want some country charm this is your place, slightly out of town in a beautiful quiet setting, this house oozes charm, great friendly check in as we got there late around 9.30 pm, rooms are just huge! Very quiet and peaceful night, absolutely fantastic full breakfast in the morning, this place is fantastic value for money, wished we could of stayed another night! Our only complaints would be that the bed could of been better, the mattress did dip a bit in the middle and definitely needs replacing and the water in the shower was blocked and took a while to go down, other than that I would recommended this place!

A place back in time

We truly enjoyed our couple of days there. Need to remember that this is a large estate home dating back to the early 1800s that is situated out in the quiet country which we cherished. Also, we enjoyed going on long walks as well as having an evening glass of wine in the large parlour surrounded by antique furniture. The mornings were served with a full breakfast of your choice.
