Property had a great Balinese vibe. Beautifully constructed villas. Clean. Right on the beach. But, most villas do not have clear unobstructed ocean views - descriptions are bit mis-leading. Nevertheless, the private pool in the villas, the rooms, outdoor showers, privacy, service etc., all make up for it. Very friendly staff. Great service.
Just remember, the resort in bit further off from everything. Great for relaxing private vacation.

I loved it, it’s a relaxing spot especially for couples, super clean. Everything is from nature. The staff were amazing with us, whatever you ask them they get you without a question. Nice location on a black sand beach with very nice villa rooms and a large private pool. The free breakfast is great with 3 set options and a free afternoon tea is offered. Some inexpensive restaurants are a short walk down the beach for a change. I’m he free shuttle is to Changu, Tanal Lot and the Tabanan local’s market which are all worth a visit.

Very remote property. A bit of a drive to Canggu and a cab will cost you 200k. Grab and Gojek will not pick up at this location. Our villa had a pool which was fantastic. We had a noisy AC which eventually died but we were given another villa. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were great. Again as with Alam Ubud this is a remote location. Great if you want peace and quiet and a beach at your doorstep. This place is also dated but clean. They need more staff but I assuming they are still recovering from covid. It was an enjoyable visit but I might try another place less remote.

Staff all around were exceptional. Restaurant was excellent. We had 2 bedroom villa, keep in mind rooma are not connected, they're actually 2 separate Villas, not recommended for young children. 1 villa was infestes with big Ants. Each evening we came back and sealth with Anta everywhere, if you or your family isnt used to tropical insects like Ants, Spiders or Lizards then don't stay here. No lans line or phonea to hotel staff, messagea only via WhatsApp, or a walk through the dark to lobby and maybe you will fins someone. If you want quiet alone off the normal tourist life then this is the place.. very remote, long ride on underdeveloped roads, eveeythings is about 1 hour drive out. Walk to our Villa was not well lit, had to usw phone light every night, staff said there were torchea in room we couls not find. Some villas have some things while other was miasing things such as umbrella or hotel directory. Lights would go out sporadically in either villa not related to any outages, outlets wouldn't work, then sudden flaahing lights in 1 Villa, toilet wouldn't flush has to call maintenance to fix in the middle of the night. Small inconveniences but 5 Stars for best staff and restaurant. 0 stars for Amenities, and hotel upkeep.

First off let me start by saying, I WILL BE BACK! This resort was so beautiful, I was literally blown away. The staff was so nice and accommodating, I literally have no complaints. But the resort is pretty far away but taxi’s are super affordable, just keep that in mind when booking other activities. Amazing amazing resort, restaurant served great food, came on a solo trip for my birthday and it was EVERYTHING I wanted. Also just keep in mind you are in the jungle so be prepared for all kinds of bugs and creatures lol

I like how the villa is designed like a mongolian tent with a beautiful bed set in the centre with decent amenities. I also like the cool design of the bathtub. The only thing I dislike is the privacy of the villa and glass window design of the bathtub area. I understand the transparent glass is placed for the experience of bathing near nature setting. However as the wall surrounding the villa is not that tall, anyone can easily climb over and peep. And it is easy to install pin-hole camera outside to see through the bath area.

The only issue is the location, very isolated and far from anything. Although the resort is directly on the beach, swimming is not allowed. The closest beach is 45-60 minutes away.

The Waka Gangga Resort is a tranquil and engaging place to rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit. The room, amenities, staff, food, service, location, activities, grounds, spa, restaurant, and more were FAULTLESS. This is our second time at the Waka Gangga and we feel like it is a second home. Every staff person we met was friendly and interesting to talk with. We have gotten to know several of them. The beach is largely unpopulated except by a few local fishermen and women gathering grasses for their chickens. We were lucky enough to help release young turtles into the ocean with local people who, with the assistance of the Waka Gangga Resort, protect their wildlife. The food is first class and the massages and treatments are fabulous. The prices are very reasonable. We believe that if you TREAT YOURSELF to a stay at the Waka Gangga Resort, you will thank yourself very much.

We happened on this place by happy accident. It is far from Denpasar (the town where the big airport and most of the big resorts are) - not sure the distance but it was a two-hour drive with heavy traffic but SO WORTH IT! WakaGangga is a small venue - we counted about twenty-five private villas - set in a semi-rural, seaside location. Our villa was beautiful, spacious, well maintained with decidedly authentic tropical decor. We neither saw nor heard many of the other guests, except at meal times, which was okay with us. The beaches were deserted, the surf a bit challenging if one wanted to get in it (and surfers did; some taking lessons.) The staff were all exceptional, speaking better-than-passable English. They were friendly and seemed genuinely eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Mornings started with an early serenade by the local bird population. The first day, that was annoying because it was surprising. From then on, it was welcome, it was positively added charm to the place. THIS is the Bali you came to see. Forget the cities. At WakaGangga, you’re close to the UNESCO rice terrace site and several small and charming villages. The Resort hired private drivers for us at ridiculously low rates and they were all very good. One tip: be sure to get your airport pickup-driver’s direct phone number. There is a veritable sea of drivers with signs at the airport exit. Identifying ours turned out to be an adventure all its own but a quite amusing one at that!

My husband and I are on our honeymoon, and last night we ate at the hotel’s restaurant. All day we hadn’t eaten, so in the evening we were really hungry. We ordered fried calamari, tuna, and pasta with tomato sauce. An hour after dinner we felt sick, and we were sick all night!
We are used to only eating in good hotels and super clean restaurants, so we were extremely disappointed by last night’s dinner. It is the first time that we were sick after a dinner at a 4.5 star hotel.

The property is isolated but just right for a peaceful away from it all break. The staff were all fantastic and could not do enough for you. The only drawback I personally had was the amount of steps that need negotiating to reach the bar and restaurant as there is no handrails to help. So if that might be a problem then this is not the property for you. Having said that, the staff are more than willing to assist.

Spent 4 nights at this wonderful. Staff are brilliant.

Very quite location and a complete contrast from Kuta where we spent our first 4 nights. Only disapointment was the beach. Although a stunning location there are strong currents making it unsafe for bathing. Furthermore there are no sun beds on the beach which presumably is for that reason.

Many rooms have private pools for a modest cost. Resturant is 5 star but the wine is expensive.

Perfect Place for Honeymooners!!!

We spent five wonderful nights at WakaGangga Resort. Although it is located in a secluded town of west Bali, far away from the main downtown, yet we loved our stay here. We had our own beachfront villa consisting of two bedrooms and open air dinning room with a pool in between the rooms. We particularly enjoyed the sound of ocean waves from our bedroom and the privacy to swim in the pool whenever we liked, especially on hot sunny days. Loved the concept of in door n open air showers. Everyday we looked forward to the breakfast and scenic view of the ocean and luscious green grounds from the open air, ocean front restaurant. Lunch/dinner menu was great, miss their duck confit n Thai curry the most. Wait staff, our personal driver arranged by the hotel(worth mentioning his name, Mr Gita), members of the reception, spa were very friendly, greeted us every time very warmly. Spa was awesome, very relaxing and soothing.
In conclusion, our stay was limited but we enjoyed every bit of it, worth each penny we spent. Can't wait to come here again!

WAKAGANGGA is like a little paradise

We chose wakagangga for our honeymoon and we had delightful surprises at our arrival. The villas and gardens respect the balinese traditional architecture and it is also modern inside. The staff is very polite. Most of them are locals and the waiters, gardeners, spa therapists and housekeepers are pleased to share their culture and talk with us. Waka land was our favorite trip in the Land Rover. Wakagangga is very quiet and the restaurant food was good.
One tip: do not hesitate to ask the hotel to be picked up from the airport. Coming from Singapore, the airport taxi company ways and rates are rather shocking.

The architecture of the villas was outstanding. The Villas are so well thought out with everything in mind. The restaurant was planned to take in the beautiful views over the ocean and the communal pool doing the same. The staff were exceptional and did everything they could to make you welcome and attend to all wants and needs. Quod bikes were available for hire as well has horses for rides along the beach. The care of these horses and the planning of the rides on the bikes along the beach and then rice fields was also well done.
The only thing that I found a little disconcerting was the ride to the villas which was in the dark and being a lone female I felt very vunerable as the roads were very narrow and sometimes appeared like you were going down someone's driveway!!

Visited once in 2010, came back in 2015. Hotel is much cleaner and better managed now, especially after their renovation 2 years ago. The hotel grounds were very well kept and serene, so much so that I would make it a point to just wake up early in the morning to sit outside and enjoy the peacefulness.

Good resort for couples, although families might find some rest, but the kids might get restless from the lounging around. Near Tanah Lot but I'd give that a miss after making the trip there. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive, more so than other Balinese resorts.

Room was very well maintained although A/C struggled to keep up during the day, ok at night. I was particularly impressed with the huge space available, bathtub, indoor shower and outdoor shower areas as well.

Beach is fantastic and provides excellent background music for our entire stay. Nothing much to do in the surrounding area.

I've been back home for a week and I miss it terribly already.

Waka Gangga Villa - Absolutely Fantastic!

Along the ride to this resort, we were filled with excitement & anticipation having read all the reviews with the picturesque illustrations. Apparently they proved us right where the experience was simply wonderful, so much different from staying in Tuban. The road leading to this heavenly inn in the midst of Yeh Gangga Village never seems to end. Well, one could expect it, since the villa is just next to Indian Ocean. We've got Lanai Room 5 for your info (Thou' I am not sure how does the interior of Lanai 1-10 is) Our room- It comes with white sunken bath tub,indoor & outdoor shower with your bed overlooking rice fields and ocean. RomanticA ! Wat more could we ask for as we go \"wow...!\"? Perfect setting with thatched roofs and full length window panes,not forgetting the sundeck. Try having your breakfast there watching sunrise. You can read a book if you do not feel hot.Nice friendly & accomodating staff! We need to check out 5.30am the next morning and they have our continental breakfast prepared and wrapped on that night. In the evening, watch out for horse-riding along the black sand beach. Meals served in the one and only restaurant were just as nice. Peaceful resort, with the only crashing waves sound. If you are a light sleeper, you might find yourself awake most of the time because the waves are loud. As per advised, no swimming or surfing is allowed. Basically, the nearest shop would probably be 20-30mins away. Therefore, please stock up snacks if you do not intend to have your 3meals at their restaurant. Overall, we never regret staying here and i bet most would agree with us. Will we revisit Waka Gangga? Yes! Definitely.. This Bali trip was perfect! Love it & missing it ...

A superb location, very clean, nice servise. An ideal place for relaxation and book reading. Do nor expect TV or disco - just relax.... and the hotel restaurant is very good, too. The only disadvantage was that the windy Western coast sea is suitable reallly only for surfing but not for swimming. But there is a pool which is ok, horseriding,.... We enjoyed our stay very much, but I would not suggest to stay longer than five nights.

１年ぶり３回目の宿泊でした。スタッフの方がwelcome home!と迎えてくださり、とても嬉しかったです。施設そのものは新しくはないですが、手入れが行き届いており、今回も快適な滞在でした。レストランも以前より少し明るくなったかな？メニューも少しリニューアルされたような気がしました。spaは相変わらずリーズナブルで、体もスッキリしました。体調不良で朝食に出てこられなかった娘に、ランチボックスのようなものを作ってくださり、細やかな気遣いが嬉しかったです。また来年、伺いたいと思います。

10年ぶりくらいに、本当に久しぶりに宿泊しました。施設の老朽化(シャワーの切り替えが出来ない、プールの照明が壊れている等)はありましたが、気になるほどのものではありませんでした。それよりも相変わらず静かで、ゆったりとして居心地の良い空間と適度なホスピタリティに癒されました。ぜひまた泊まりたいです。

Endroit idéal pour se reposer loin du vacarme des grandes villes. Villa avec piscine magnifique. Décoration raffinée.
Il y a eu un problème avec le type de villa. Celui ci a été résolu rapidement.
Le restaurant surplombant l’océan est magnifique. Le choix est varié, c’est bon et les tarifs sont corrects pour une cuisine de qualité.

Die Anlage ist wunderschön und liebevoll gestaltet.Man fühlt sich mehr als willkommen,wie in einer Familie.
Das Personal ist unglaublich hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend.Hervorzuheben ist Purni,mit der wir viel gelacht haben und die uns viel über die Kultur erzählt hat.
Leider kann man nicht ins Meer,da die Strömung zu stark ist,doch der eigene Pool am Haus bzw.der große Hauptpool entschädigen dafür.Massagen lassen sich sehr kurzfristig buchen.Die Zimmer sind groß,das Bad mit riesigem Bodentiefen Fenstern und Außendusche wunderschön.
