Terrible Dirty Hotel, Do not book.

I am a frequent traveler to Malaysia, this is the worst hotel I encountered. The first hotel which I checked out the same day I checked in. The only positive thing about the hotel is the front desk who is nice and trying to help.The room may look ok generally when you first entered, however, when you look into details, your skin will crawls. There are little bugs flying around the bed, there is also a massive amount of little bugs crawling at the shower area. This room is infested with bugs.

The WIFI and reception within the room is terrible as well, you can't use the internet with your pwn mobile line or WIFI at all.

After thinking for some time, I decide to check out on the same day and booked another hotel elsewhere for the safety for my family. I highly do not recommend this hotel to anyone as this is unacceptable. Thinking I wasted 2 nights money on this hotel, I'm glad the other hotel is very good compare to this.

Hotel near Main shopping malls

Simple hotel near Dataran Pahlawan and Mahkota Parade in Malacca. It is walking distance to some simple eateries, pharmacies and cafes.
Free parking provided for hotel guests.

There is also a night market nearby presumably on weekends where you can get cheap street food and clothes/items.

The room is OK, comfortable for a short stay. No in-room amenities such as toothbrushes/hair dryer provided.

Bicycles are available for rent to explore the area.

Location were good as it was a walking distance to malls
Do not stay Melaka Town during the ramadan month as most of the shops are closed & night markets are mostly in the kampong area.
Rooms were small
There were ants hole found so if you leave your food, it will be eaten by the ants in a minute
WIFI were the worst, you have to login everytime you would want to use it & passwords are only valid for a day. So if you are staying for 3 days, you will require to request for a new passwords at the counter everyday
Email were not responded as we were having enquiries about Ramadhan if they can serve sahur.
We asked if there is any restaurants open 24 hrs, counter staff mentioned that there's shops open 24hrs but not to our luck, they were close.
I would not recommend to stay, not unless they change staff & WIFI connections.

Unexpected small room

Room are small. Not match with the reviewed photo as above. Requesting for an existing bed for an infant as mentioned free on the advertisment but RM50 will be charge told by the receptionist and if baby cot is free. Unfortunately told by the cleaner baby cot is spoiled. At last baby was slept on the standard double bed with two adults.

The best thing about this hotel .it really middle of the town.no need to drive a car.can just walk to go to jonker walk.eyebof malacca.pasar malam. Shopping mall n etc.

The bad thing is: ive been book this hotel earlier.about 3weeks earlier. and i should pay at the hotel.suddenly got msg from staff.i need to make payment 2days before i check in if not they will give the room to other walk in cust.

Need to upgrade the fasilities such as iron.not safe.

Not a good choice

Booked the quad room.
Hotel listed free parking but there is no proper parking area. Many illegal parking under the bridge. Super jam traffic. Difficult to get to hotel.
Hotel room condition is old and smelly. Poor pillow condition, queen size bed with stained bedsheet. Lots of dust on air-condition and ceiling. Toilet basin is dirty, has not been scrub. Bath towels are worn out. Face towel, toiletries and slippers not provided.
Poor water pressure for shower head. Customer service staff only speaks Malay.
Suggest to opt for hotel with at least four stars in Malaysia.

Great place for a couple of nights. Room was nice and bright when the curtains were open, and wonderfully dark when they're not. Facilities were quite adequate; the aircon was cool, the pillows provided were comfortable, the plug points worked and the bathroom was good. Overall it's good for a place to crash after a long day of walking about. Would not recommend for a stay longer than 2 nights as it may feel a bit cramped.

Great location and clean room

The staff was nice, the location is great, the room might be quite small but its clean. There was no problem with the water or the heater and one bonus point i'll give for this hotel, they provide a big space parking lot for the hotel guest. Thumbs up to that.

Terrible Hotel

1.Dirty and smelly room, bathroom also dusty.
2.Wifi speed very slow, able to connect but webpage can't loading.
3.Bad soundproofing, midnight is noisy and can't sleep well.
4.Unexpected fee incurred when check out due to the towel got bloodstain. It is old stain and not caused by us, but the staff very rude and insists that they wouldn't provide dirty towel to customer.

2 Nights Stay For Standard Queen Bedroom Review

- RM50 cash for deposit. Rm4 for heritage payment.
- When first enter the room, the room is quite smelly (smell like wet wood). I guess the room doesn't has a good ventilation since the window is sealed.
- No view as the windows facing back alley.
- Some part of the wallpaper has already spoil.
-The Wifi speed is pretty fast abt 5MB, try out can connect 3 devices at the same time.
-The bed and bathroom are quite clean. There are hairdryer and electric kettle provided in the room. Not to forget the TV with full local channels and sport channel.
There is a safety box as well but no power. Call up the receptionist for the fix however it is still not able to fix it after we return bk from dinner. (i guess they gave up)
-The counter shows offer RM25 on entrance to the The Sky @The Shore but found the same price when we reached there.
-Drinking water dispenser with room temperature is just outside the room around the corner of the corridor.

Location: At the end of the side of the heritage area. 5mins walk to Menara Taming Sari.
- 10/15mins walk to Stadhuys.

Conclusion: Actually nothing is much important or high expectation with the value paid. However cleanliness is definitely a must regardless how low budget the hotel is. Quite okay for the value paid but the hotel management should improve on the smelly room.

Hope this review can help you guys make decision for a better stay at Melaka Heritage area.

I can say that all the time I would stay with this hotel when I visited to Melaka. Even though the hotel is not a grand or luxury but it provide the needs to the guest as other hotel with star rated. The receptionist are friendly and hotel wifi was in tip top condition. Only the hotel have to look into cleanliness of bathroom.

The Location is good, but i would not recommend to stay in there. Because at midnight when I was Sleeping, suddenly there was someone knocked at my door. It was annoying when i was really fall asleep. When I peeped from the door's hole, l Saw someone Who wearing a helmet was Knocking every body door around our Room. At the morning I asked to the receptionist, She didn't Know. How could the hotel have a worse safety

A good budget hotel, worth the price

Hi.
I have to say Venus is one of the better budget hotel compared to the ones that I've stayed previously, many thanks to the interior of the room, and toilet I must say.
They have their own guarded parking too, which is to me a plus point.
The receptionist will give you a call to remind you on your check-ins and the status.

There is some stain on the pillow and bedsheet ,I suggest that the hotel
can wash it by bleaching agent.

Leaves a bad, sour ending to my trip

Pros: clean, with free parking. That's it.
Cons:
1. traffic will be bad during weekend evening, due to night market at that area
2. I got charged rm30 of \"cleaning fees\" because of a little dirtiness caused by the monthly thingy of my gf. First that this is not pre informed, and then they are not keen in retaining me as future customer.very disappointing
3. No complimentary drinks, other than the poor performance water machine where is not communicated to us as well.
4. Bicycle rents are 100% more expensive than what you can gets in jonker street.

In summary, this stay somehow leaves a bad ending to my escape weekend. If you coming for just a night stay, this place is ok.otherwise, please reconsider. Do mind the price is slightly higher than their neighbouring hotels(there are a lot of hotels in that area)

Amazing getaway in town

I was surprised to note that the staff were courteous and attended to our needs as soon as they could. This was a first time for my family to stay at a boutique and is money for value. Basic toiletries was in the toilet including the hair dryer. The bed size was just fine for us and the surrounding area was in the happening area. That was cool as it is close to shopping,eateries and bus. Keep it up!

Loved the vibe and decor of the hotel.

The two nights here with my family had been great. The hotel had just been renovated lately with modern decor and the bed was very comfortable. Hotel employees always greet with a smile as well. Though, wifi reception is pretty bad and unstable. The air conditioner dripped water but it was not very serious and lasted only for a while.

Firstly, the positive side. Location wise is good. Located at the centre of Bandar Hilir. Near to attractions and ammenities all within walkable distance. A plus as the hotel has a big parking with security to look after the car at night and it is free for hotel guest too. Room is clean and comfy.
Now the negative side. Upon arrival on the first day, once we reached the 2nd floor where our room was, we were greeted by a damp smell in the corridor. Only after the second day when the hotel install air ionizer that the smell was gone.
In all, we enjoyed our stay.
