We live in Singapore and visit Bali every year for the last 20 years. This is one hotel I will keep coming back. Couple of things that really stood out for me:
- Service: Absolutely the best. Staff strikes just the right balance between attending to all your needs but without showering you with unnecessary attention.
- Food: I am skeptical of hotel foods in general, find them quite bland. Como changed my whole notion. Food here is exceptionally good. Como Shambala menu options are healthy and outstanding.
- Como Shambala Spa and the fitness area, yoga/pilates classess are the best. Exactly what one needs from a getaway in Bali.
I am especially thankful for the spa staff that took great care of me when I became unwell.

I don’t know where to begin with my standing ovation. My husband and I stayed for only two nights at Como Uma but our experience stood out as the best hotel we can remember staying in. The breakfast was superb, fresh, generous, and fueled us for the whole day. Our server, Adi, was beyond kind. I stubbed my toe pretty badly, and a man named Emu was at my table in under a minute to first aid my wound. I had a facial at the spa and Indah gave me the most tailored experience complete with scalp, arm and face massage. It was heaven and the products were of the best quality. The entire reception and housekeeping staff tended to our every need. Wulan was caring during check in and made sure when we extended our stay that we wouldn’t have to change rooms. She went above and beyond for me.

Every detail was counted for. The bath salts, robes, slippers, glass bottled water, gorgeous gym, sunset beach location and the pools were all dreamy! Bottom line, stay here and book one night longer than you’ll think you want. Trust me.

Great hotel, would stay here again. The pool is incredible, great breakfast options and the restaurant is right on the beach. Great hotel for children with kids menus, kids club, shallow areas in the pool and cots and baby bath provided in the room. We stayed in a one bedroom residence and the hotel provided a cot and a roll away bed for our 1.5 and 4.5 year olds.

It's a shame a property like this doesn't have proper AC system : strong smell of mold and too much humidity inside the room . I changed room and went to the Residence which is a really nice apartment, but you cannot have that much humidity and smell in a place like that , is not a hostel . Ownership, get HVAC systems with Western standards !

There has been a change in how they charge for book now pay later. They failed to advise in a timely manner that they needed a deposit 24 hours before checking. We received a whatapp text in transit and it was just very sloppy. You need to state at time
Of booking that you require a prepayment 7 days prior - they kept sending me the cancellation notice and I never cancelled !!! It’s was distressing to say the least. We were upgraded to a garden room which was much appreciated.

The staff as usual were great and the complimentary massage as a VIP was worth it.

The only complaint about this property is during busy period the pool staff need to clear the cabanas and pool chairs. People think they can dump their stuff and leave for the whole day only to return at the end of the day when that is a loss of revenue for the hotel as other guests wanted a daybed and we’re going to spend money and eat. Please revise your policy and advise guests that belongings will be removed and the lounge made available if they leave it unattended for more than 60 minutes. It’s not fair for the other paying guests.

Also there was a big noise complaint as there was bass music coming from
One of the bars until 3am and it was so loud. The Como is so far removed and a luxury hotel not a backpacker hotel but with the new beach clubs around and restaurants the music is so loud. Please work with the local authorities to come to an agreement about the sound being turned down after midnight

The room was amazing. The restaurant was good for breakfast. The amenities are really good. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The Pilates instructor was good. Service was impeccable. Unfortunately, there was a very strong smell in the room (humidity/mod). It made it very difficult to sleep at night as the smell becomes stronger. If you are sensitive to smell I would be careful with this place. Otherwise it was great.

We've stayed at Como Canggu before as well as Ubud & Maldives. Como Canggu presents as a 5 star but boy there is lots of room for improvement.
We checked in at 3am after a very long flight delay, and paid for the day before. Walked in and had to walk straight out due to the strong odour of mould. Wowee. Another room organised within 30 mins.
Como Beach Club was full of screaming unsupervised children. Twas crazy! Spoke to staff and they advised that the parents were in the restaurant having lunch. Yikes! There really should be a separate area for families. A Beach Club is to be enjoyed for a quiet swim or a cocktail by the pool, reading a book, not screaming children. Never again! I didn’t pay $1100 per night to go to Como Beach Club and experience that. Another guest got involved but it was a ridiculous situation 🙄.
The staff are the best asset of the hotel. Cannot fault anyone. From Reception, to Restaurants, to Gym, to Housekeeping and Gardeners ... every single one has a beautiful smile and a greeting to you. They really do make the resort.
The rooms are going to need an update soon. Some lights didn’t work but they were replaced within 24hrs though.
The location on the beach is phenomenal though. A+ for location. Would I return? For the pricing, no. Better value for us elsewhere.

Gym is great, the coffee too!

The hotel does have a musty/mold smell and we had the change rooms a few times. If you’re sensitive to mold… you should know.

Widi was super helpful and friendly from check in till helping me during my stay till checking out.

I got Upgraded with my Expedia status to a 1 bedroom residence which was v lovely and the complimentary 1 hour massage was fantastic.

My friends stayed in the 2 bedroom with private pool. The finishing were abit tacky and less appealing with a very short morning sun on their private pool area, the rest of the day it was just too cold to take a swim there.

One other thing was their corridors were a pretty dark at night.. might be better with a little more illumination please.

Absolute luxury and VIP treatment

We loved staying at the Como Uma Canggu. The staff were exceptional and so accommodating with me as I was on crutches for the entire trip! No task was too great and we were driven from room > pool > reception at our request.
We were greeted by our names and met with a smile and service wherever we went.
We booked two nights at the start of our trip and ended up booking our last night in Bali back at the Como because of the great experience we had.
Rooms were super comfortable and the vibe of the hotel was awesome.

Como UMA definitely didn't feel like a 5 star hotel. The cleanliness and service (or lack thereof) left us feeling like we wished we'd booked elsewhere, with the service from one front desk member in particular rude and unhelpful.

To start, we arrived at 2.45pm for a 2pm checkin. The room wasn't ready and we had to wait in the lobby until it was ready at 3pm. While being taken to the room, the front desk person who showed us to our room spent the entire time telling us about how we'd been upgraded, while neglecting to mention where the pool, breakfast, beach club, gym, etc., were. Upon walking into the room, we could see the upgraded room overlooked a construction site and rubbish-strewn river next door. The room wasn't soundproof from outdoors, which was annoying given there is a beach club on the property. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, with used tea bags in the kitchen, and marks on the tiled floor suggesting it hadn't been mopped. The shower smelt awful, and one of the taps was leaking. At some point during our stay, a rodent nibbed through the packaging of the mini bar snacks on the kitchen bench. We tried to book into the complimentary yoga class, however there is only one per day with a maximum of 8 people. Not sure how they thought that was going to work for a hotel. Service at breakfast was ok. The only highlight was the spa therapist (Ayu) who was amazing. We clearly would not stay here again.

For the price I paid, the room was basic. There is an overpowering scent that is quite sickening. The kettle didn’t work so I had to get it replaced. There was no milk for the coffee, the coffee machine wasn’t working properly. The AC also was faulty. The room isn’t soundproof and I could hear other guests walking around/talking. Food was average. The only good thing was how fast they checked me in because I had a call to join. Other than that, it’s way overpriced for what you get.

My husband & I stayed here for our 2nd wedding anniversary. It was nice, but for $700 a night I was definitely expecting bottled water and not filtered water. I got really sick and the doctor had to come out to give me the IV.
I also waited over 45 min for my breakfast order which never arrived so eventually we just left, and the same thing happened to our lunch order by the pool which we waited 1 hour for and still nothing came so we eventually cancelled the order and went to eat else where.
I was expecting better service, and to be honest the beds were really uncomfortable too.
But it is a nice place to stay with good location.
I preferred the W Hotel in Seminyak.

Beautiful, clean and modern hotel located near Echo Beach. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection. The lagoon pool was nice and quiet. It was a great base to explore the area and I would definitely return.

We booked in for a group of 7 and the hotel was very helpful in arranging a last minute addition of extra guest. We changed one of the twin share rooms to a 1 bedroom residence. The 1 bedroom residence became our main room where all of us can gather and hang out. The staff was very friendly and helpful and definitely the stars of COMO. Particular commendation to Ulan and her team at the Como Beach Club. We were greeted by their generous smiles every morning at breakfast. The gym was also one of the best we've seen in a hotel and it's fully equipped with all the equipment catered for every seasoned gym rat. Last but not least the Como Beach Club pool impressed us with its beautiful view of the ocean and its abundance of deck chairs and daybeds.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to totally chillout and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of seminyak. However the local transport restriction on Ride hailing services such as Gojek and Grab makes getting around canngu a little more difficult. Canggu is definitely an interesting and laid back area with lots of great food and worth the visit.

COMO Amu is extraordinay, the gardens are stunning, the Lagoon Pool is beautiful and so relaxing to chill there, the Beach Club and hanging chair area and day bed chill out zone is to die for, the staff really make this property a stand out, they are bending over backwards literally to help you be relaxed and enjoy every moment...even the shared public area toilets & showers are amazing, the staff make this property a 5 star ... possibly 6 star. The resort has so many attributes, too many to list here but the website says it all. The photos of the property are realistic and they are not \"touched up\" and what you see and definitely what you get. The food from The Beach Club was impeccable. The whole experience was impeccable.
We will definitely go back to this resort or any of the COMO resorts, they are well appointed, attention to detail surpassed our expectations... it is very pricey but it was well worth the money.

Loved Como Umu!!

Had an amazing time at Como, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms and building spotless, they have a gym and yoga and pilates classes as well as an AWESOME view from the beach club where we had breakfast every morning. Highly recommend!
