I had a great stay here, the location is great 5 mins walk from beach. Also it's very quiet because the rooms are set soo far back from the street.

I had checked in to the property and told them it was just me and that I only needed one key. A man who I had previously met, knew where I was staying and asked for my room number at the front desk. They called me on my room phone and then called me about eight times on my cell phone from the hotel front desk. He went up to my room with one of the front staff people, and they knocked on my door several times, when I didn’t answer, the staff person unlocked the door for this person. Thankfully, I had it latched from the inside and he wasn’t able to gain access. I was really upset and felt very unsafe and wondered what would’ve happened if I hadn’t been in my room? Would they have let him just roam around inside of the room waiting for me? What if he gone through my baggage and taken my passport?

I recognize that we’re not in North America, but basic standards of safety for anyone traveling should be adhered to. Especially a single woman.

I also gave it a three star rating because there was no blow dryer, and when I called to ask for an iron, they told me it was “still” broken. A hotel of this size in this location should definitely have at least a few irons if not one in each room. I also didn’t love the small recyclable plastic bottles. I would’ve been happy to see a water station in the hall like other hotels I had recently been in.

This all being said, the staff were very nice and kind.

People were so kind. The location is close to Batu balong for surfing. Bed was very comfortable. Make sure you add on the breakfast, Puttu is an amazing and kind chef who worked many cruiselines. I enjoyed the variety of Indonesian dishes and soups. If you are picky they have breads, croissants,cereals,fruit and yoghurts too. The pool was very nice too to swim laps or just relax.

Love this property! Close to the beach, coffee, tons of restaurants and bars. If you’re looking to stay in the heart of the action, this is your place. If you want something more quiet, then maybe not. Staff is always super nice, I stayed for about a week and it was really so welcoming. Breakfast is good too!

The bedroom door opens up into the pool. The staff are super nice and friendly. There is an amazing rooftop restaurant and bar on level 4 also where breakfast is served. The rooms are cleaned and made everyday. Its such a nice friendly place and also very reasonable prices. Its walking distance to everything in Ccangu, like 2 mins from the beach.

Super close to Echo beach which is not a the nicest or cleanest beach but its got good surf and food vibes around. It’s got good places to eat accross from it , convenient store and currency exchange a few steps away

The bathroom was not good . The edges were all stained . The curtain was stained too.
When the staff when to clean the room they forgot to put the towels and the toilet paper.
The mattress and pillow were not very comfortable but it was ok.
Breakfast was ok. I really like the fried rice.
Location is perfect if you’re a surfer and also for shopping and restaurants.
But I wouldn’t come back because of the bathroom. Also the door from the balcony is not in good condition and it was hard to open and close.

I was then allocated another room which was not much better.

Cheap but comes at a cost!

The place is like a hostel. It’s cheap and cheerful for the area but the photos were taken a while back.

The rooms are basic. They are poorly designed - no blackout curtains, just some shutters, no soft close doors so people slam them closed - all night! - the fridge doesn’t get cold, the bed uncomfortable, one pillows each. Walls thin so could hear next door talking all night.

The pool area had 5 sun beds and a bunch of beanbags - not enough for the size of the hotel. The decking around the pool was falling apart. Some planks sucking up, others you nearly fell through. Pool was freezing.

Cocktails from hotel were cheap - but awful. Food was served from the nice rooftop restaurant which is cheap - but not the best. We only ate there as there was a storm that night and couldn’t be bothered to go out.

I complained about the noise from the next room and asked to check out a night early as I’d booked 3 nights and has been kept awake since 3am on the first night when our neighbours returned from their night out. The hotel refused to let us cancel a night as we’d booked a non refundable rate. They did however move us to a family room 403 which was away from everyone else on the top floor. If booking and value your sleep treat yourself to this room as we slept much better and the room was spacious even though basic.

The staff were very friendly and helpful so if you want cheap and cheerful and can sleep through anything then this is ok

Room was ok, very noisy. You can hear ppl walking on the hallway and the cleaners doing the rooms. We only stayed for a few hours mainly to have a place to stay while waiting for our flight. Tried to rest and get some sleep but it was too noisy. Room had a door that interconnected to the room next door. Ppl kept trying to open it which made it impossible to relax. Our room had access to the pool although it was convenient and an extra feature it was the only Pool in the building so you’ll have ppl swimming at your bedroom door. Bed was comfy but super noisy. Staff were very helpful and attentive. We ended up staying only for 4 hours thankfully.

Don't be fooled by the cover shot. This place needs alot of attention. If your a backpacker it's fine but it's a very basic arrangement otherwise. The outside pool area is um falling apart. And a safety trip hazard as decking is coming up. Only a few deck beds for the whole hotel and the rest is some uncomfortable beanbags. The whole pool area is in front of someone's room. So it's abit strange there's no sort of common pool. Then in the rooms the mini fridge (no water given daily, just a water tank at reception) is the same temperature as outside. The air con is loud and doesn't really work properly anymore and the safety box was replaced several times as not working and then carried away and swapped out with another room. The shower felt dirty and need to wear the thongs in on all occasions. There is no wardrobe but a ladder to drape dresses or hanging clothes. And finally reception. Again needs a facelift. The owner needs to part with a bit of cash and give this place a bit of love.. there is hard working staff but I think they are embarrassed by what they have to apologize constantly for.

This was my second time staying at FRii in Canggu. Canggu is a lot more busy these days and fortunately this hotel is right in the centre of everything. The location is so ideal. It’s a simple hotel but has all you could need, it’s super clean and affordable. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in 2 different rooms at this hotel and both were disappointing for the price in the area. The bathrooms were covered in damp in the shower and all around the back of the sink which could quite easily have been wiped down and regularly maintained. The damp smell was evident on entering the room. The walls were marked and I had to remove some chrysalis’ that were attached to the walls/woodwork. Breakfast was good and the staff are absolutely lovely, bed is comfy and I slept well. I really wanted more from this hotel based on the pics and price. I moved to a nearby accomm for my last 2 nights.

Great location, I booked a cool room where you could fall into the pool from the sliding doors.
Breakfast was good. Location was close to the beach and shops.
No ramp to get your luggage up the entrance steps and the rooms are on the small side, but still manageable.
Beware that outside Taxis/Grabs/Ubers etc can not go in the zone of the hotel. You must use the more expensive Canggu drivers or walk up the road to the corner out of the zone. Frustrating!

Staff were extremely friendly, in arrival we were presented with a nice refreshing drink as it was quite warm. The room was spacious and very clean. There was a small smell of sewerage at first but this disappeared after a few hours of using the bathroom so maybe it hadn’t been used in a while. Hotel is located close to the beach and is based on one of the quieter main road in Canggu but is a nice walking distance from all the hustle and bustle. The rooftop area is great for sunrise/ sunset if you didn’t want to head to the beach. We only had breakfast once at the hotel but the quality was good. It’s a little bit expensive for what you get and we were charged a set fee of 55k for the buffet although we only wanted the indonesian style breakfast which was ment to he 40k. The air conditioning was great in the room which was a life saver after spending all day out in the sun. The pool area is quite small and can fill up pretty quickly as there are limited beanbags and sun-beds and the width of the area next door to the pools aren't very big. I would recommend this hotel for both solo, couple and family visitors.

The breakfast wasn’t great but that shouldn’t put people off staying there. My only issue was people swimming early in the morning (6/7am) and waking people up (we stayed in a room connected to the pool).

If your looking for a place to stay with a young social vibe without being rowdy and too loud this is your place! I was not excited to stay here and it was my favorite when all things were considered.

PRO's
- Rooftop outside lounge area and restaurant (decent food and drink at your hotel comes in handy - I was addicted to their free popcorn. It was sooo good!)
- Rooms are very clean
- Pool side rooms are bomb! Just open your door and jump in.
- Pool towels available near pool
- Service was VERY attentive for any issues
- WiFi was good
- Location! Easy to walk to soooo many places including the beach!!!

CON's
- Rooms are very small and bathroom even smaller. No closet in rooms to hand clothing.
- We stayed here three times and one time we got two twin beds put together to make a larger bad. The issue was they took the same comforter and two sheets to make the bed to the sheets were across the bed sideways and the comforter didn't even cover my feet. I am 5' 5\". Not that tall. lol. We phoned them at 11pm when we noticed and they immediately came and changed them out.
- Pool side rooms can be noisy because there is just a glass door between you and those outside.
- Food is just okay.
- Although the staff is superrrr kind many of them don't know much English which can make ordering food or other items a guessing game.

For the price, this hotel was by far my favorite in all of Bali our to outside ambiance & location!!!!

An enjoyable stay - central to everthing. Shame the view from the rooftop restaurant will disappear when new beachside construction is completed. Staff mostly very good, although some of the younger ones lacked a little confidence . One complaint - we asked reception for cost to take us to Legian, Their driver quoted 180,000 which we thought was a bit expensive as we had previously paid a Bluebird cab 100,000 for the same trip . We the hailed a cab from the street, agreed on a price and were just about to load our luggage when a guy from the local \"cartel\" spoke to the driver telling that this was their territory and cabs were only allowed to drop off - not pick up.
So carried our bags to the nearest corner (30 mt), hailed a bluebird cab back to Legian for 90,000. Not the hotels fault but be aware.

This is our 4th stay with Frii. We really did enjoy our first 3 stays with Frii but like many hotel in Bali, they run down very fast.

What we like:
1. Location

What we don’t like:
1. Bedding (old, not fresh, torn & tear)
2. Housekeeper forgot to replace towels quite often.
3. No sound proofing (trolley’s sound up & down the corridor every morning is loud & frequent.)

This was probably the best value hotel I've stayed in. It was a good price, had very clean rooms, strong wifi, good AC, breakfast included in our rate, and a clean and shady pool. It had everything we needed and was only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. I also ended up booking a massage on premise which was clean and professional. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

There aren't closets in the rooms to hang any of your things and you have to ask to borrow a hairdryer from the front desk, which are only available is someone else isn't using it. My group also received 3 different answers when trying to coordinate airport transfers.

Our stay was good, but also had some bad sides such as bad smell in the bathroom, the cleaning wasnt that good (wanted to change bedsheet twice but didn’t happend)

The breakfast was ok, you didn’t have much to choose from but still 6/10.

The pool was great and so was the service behind the desk :)

Amazing hotel! We loved this place, the staff are amazing and go out of their way to greet you and help you with any needs you may have. The pool is very nice and we had a walk out room which was amazing, you literally open up the outside door right into the pool. The rooms are small but very nice and everything functioned properly. The free wifi was great and the signal is strong around the whole property. The ocean is an easy 3 minute walk from the hotel and is an amazing beach for surfing and also for a swim. The restaurant at the hotel is beautiful, it’s on the top floor and has an outstanding view of the ocean and surrounding area. A great place to start your day with a nice buffet breakfast. You can order food at the restaurant itself or at the pool bar and eat lounging by the pool! The food prices are very good at the hotel. There are tons of cute shops and little cafes and restaurants directly around the hotel and on the adjacent streets. If you rent a scooter, which I definitely recommend as it was a ton of fun, you can park it for free in the underground parking lot which was convenient. Would highly recommend this place!

For the price, Frii Bali was value for money.
The location is great, with everything you need and a great view from the top floor.

Great location to surf in Canggu. Little off from the main street but you can find everything you need around the hotel - supermarket, bike rental, ATM, currency exchange, massage shop and many restaurants.

BEST location! great pool and rooftop but cheap

I love this hotel! It’s is the BEST location- waking to the beach in a couple minutes but right in main canggu- I walk everywhere. Simple rooms but amazing rooftop, breakfast, staff, and accommodations which is perfect for a budget place to stay. PLEASE CONTINUE TO FEED THE KITTEN family at the bottom of the pool stairs by the massage! I loved feeding them every night :) The staff at this hotel is simply excellent. Food is half the price of everywhere else as well.

Amazing hospitality

I’ve been to Canggu many times but this hotel was one of the best! Staffs are very welcoming and always greet and talk to you. Room view is also amazing and you can see the beautiful beach and sunset. Strongly recommend this place for everyone:)

I wanted to enjoy this hotel but everything was just so mediocre. The walls are paper thin, as a result I was woken up several nights at 4:00am. There are no pool restrictions and having lagoon access meant we listened to people swim quite late at night. The spa has misleading information about promos. The breakfast food buffet was mediocre. Asking for ice drew several frowns. Just can’t honestly recommend this place unfortunately.
