This hotel is right near the beach, close to everything.
Great pool where you can watch the beach and the surfers.
Breakfast was amazing, huge assortment of foods, I had the most amazing pumpkin soup here! All food fresh and tasty.

Our room was spacious with the best shower!

Our only issue was our room was at front facing the street so up until 4am it was very noisy from surrounding clubs/bars

The property kind of mid leads you with their lagoon view option as it is not an ocean view room it is a waterfall pool for viewing only. No swimming! And I thought it was a bit over priced for the area! You can find much nicer and bigger accommodations for less money in the canguu area! The music on the first floor rooms goes till about ten o’clock and the street noise is loud for first floor rooms.

Property is very run down and needs updating. Upon opening front door, a strong moldy smell hit us. So much to the point where we changed hotels after one night (meant to stay for 7) and asked for a refund as the hotel is not what the pictures show and is very outdated and old. The “lagoon room” is more of a “pond room”. Unfortunately our request for a refund was denied

We stayed for 6 nights. The rooftop pool was lovely and a really good temperature.
We ended up unwell with our daughter getting Bali belly, but the staff were very understanding, and offered us a later check out.

I love this hotel, the staff are always so lovely and genuinely want to make your experience a good one.its so convenient for the beach and a lit of local bars and restaurants. The pool and restaurant upstairs has amazing views both day and night and great to watch sunset with 2 for 1 cocktails! Good breakfast options and Menu in both eating areas upstairs and at the lobby is very affordable and even room service is too.
Downside this visit was it was more noisy than my last, floors outside out ground floor room were having something done with a noisy machinery at 2.15am, then you can here trolleys, door slamming, the waterfall from lagoon and some generator or something generally from about 6am , we made staff aware and they were very apologetic, but it did cause us a few nights of disturbed sleep, I would definately want to stay again, but my friend did find it a bit much so they need to be aware of the noise issue through the night and early mornings, people on holiday want to relax and sleep well!! Staff were lovely though!

I dont know how this is a 4 star property. The only good thing about the property is the location (which is close to a lot of part spots).

The room was not very clean we checked in. The bathtub was rusty and the curtains were dirty. Wont be staying here again.

Breakfast buffet had different cuisine featured each day.
I liked particularly the fresh ginger slices, lime, lemon slices and ginger juice and honey offered at the tea section.
Am also happy that they had a station featuring cloves, Roselle and various herbs at the reception area to make yourselves a cup of soothing herbal tea before sleep.
There are also many dining options outside the hotel along the road.
To note that not all rooms are with smart TVs.

like - food & beverage prices are excellent. Staff very helpfull & friendly. Rooms were very nice and clean.
Did not like- pool area not big enough,not enough room or parasols for shade. On odd days the boom boom music was very loud.
at breakfast all the \" hot food\" was cold as it was cooked in the kitchen near the pool area then carried on plates to the cold stainless steel containers. The only hot food was the toast you made and the eggs cooked fresh from the egg station.

The hotel looked like it could do with a spruce up - a bit worn and tired. Somewhat expected post COVID with a couple years on no cashflow.
The in-room fridges were completely hopeless. I asked for a replacement and it was worse than the first - struggled to get below ambient air temp.

I chose this property based on the price, location and reviews, however I would not stay here again. I tried to change my checkin date prior to arrival, but was told that it was not possible and to talk to someone during checkin. During checkin, I was told they could not refund me the one night because it was already charged and they do not do refunds. After checking in, I got to my room with a \"lagoon view\" only to find out out that there was absolutely no privacy, I would not even be able to have my blinds open without everyone seeing into my room. I asked to change rooms and was told only suites had any privacy but that was be an additional cost. I ended up switching to a room that faced the hotel next to it, which is a cheaper room but they did not bother to tell me that or refund me any money. The room itself was fine, but the bathroom definitely needed to be updated- the mirror had a crack in it, the shower didn't work properly, the sink had no hot water and the shower needed to be recaulked.
During my 8 night stay, I only wanted my room cleaned twice which both times the sheets did not get changed even though they were clearly dirty. When I would request fresh towels, water, coffee, etc. it seemed like it was a big inconveniance for them. The staff you would see around the hotel was nice, but the staff at the front desk and restaurant were rude. The gym is a joke, never cleaned/stocked and it is so hot in there its almost impossible to workout for more than 10mins.

1. You can’t possibly sleep if given one of the half dud rooms, I’ve asked seven times to be moved and was lying in bed for 6 hours last night praying for the noise to stop.
2. Wifi barely works; again asked nine times and the hopeless albeit completely lovely staff are useless
3. The breakfast could be cooked by a three year old, you’ll need to ask three or four times to actually get what you requested initially
4. Room smells like sewage, I went down to the shops and bought some incense in an attempt to dull it out - recommend brining a scented candle with you.
5. Mould in the bathroom and insanely dated everything
6. Location is exceptional if you don’t plan on Sleeping and want to get legless outside the hotel

The location was priceless and we were lucky to have a balcony overlooking the street as some faced others' balconies. The bathroom and room was beautiful and staff were amazing. The breakfast was different on different days and there was so much selection we were surprised how much you could choose. The only issue we had at Aston was the pool area. We were super disappointed. The pool closes at 6pm?! Sunset was at 7pm. There are also no umbrellas or shaded area around the pool so everyone was burning and couldn't relax. Apart from that we loved everything.

Our family had 5 nights of NO SLEEP. The clubs operated until 3 am with the loudest music I have ever heard. It was an unbearable experience.
One day we couldn't use the pool amenities due to a private function. To make things worse our room was double booked so we in fact paid for it TWICE. Would NEVER recommend this hotel.

Not the hotels fault but it’s very very Noisy from surrounding bars we would finally get to sleep at around 4 am and then because we were directly under the kitchen we could hear the noise from the kitchen from 6 am a few hours sleep wasn’t ideal. Cleanliness wasn’t all that great in the bathroom. Staff were very helpful with transport and other information The breakfast buffet was great with a variety of food. I personally think it’s a little expensive to stay here for the quality that you get.

All the reviews I had read said this property was only 3 years old, the hotel may have taken over then but the hotel is terribly dated, cracked tiles and mould is common.

Such a great location ruined by a late night street party held outside every single night until the sun comes up. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

My stay here was very enjoyable and relaxing. I could say in my entire honeymoon this was best when it comes to stay. Being a vegan it was a challenge for us here in Bali. But Auston made sure that we would get beyond expectations in our breakfast. I would really like to appreciate their staff and special thanks to their Chef Darmada who really took care of our special request in food. I would definitely suggest this to everyone specially honeymooners as they have very beautiful view from their top deck at night. And best thing no matter what, their staff will always greet you with smile.

What I don’t like ?
Nothing as such . Just as suggestion they need to keep an eye on room service as well. As no guest would like to find their room still messy when they return from tired day.

Mould in Bathrooms, Smelly rooms - even have a room freshener on the air con - so they know. Noisy ,very Noisy. No Wi-Fi- complained numerous times in stay . Checked our early as I couldn’t stay any longer. And even then the manager didn’t even want to speak to an unhappy customer. Ants covering breakfast tables on multiple days ,ants climbing in maple syrup.

Probably not perfect for families due to location being in the hub of Canggu, quiet loud, but this isn’t at fault of hotel.
Rooms were ok, fairly modern, clean enough but feel like they could be better maintained. Our floor was super squeaky.

The balcony for my room overlooked the lift foyer on the second floor. I like to sit on the balcony to read but this was not possible as I just had random people staring at me as they went past me to & fro from the lift. I complained about this & was advised that I would be advised soon. No one came back to me. Also, the fridge in the room was not cool enough for me to keep my meds safely. The cost of this hotel was remarkably more than others & it was not worth the extra. We were there for a wedding & were very disappointed.

Room condition and facilities were basic and as expected. Certain aspects (such as creaky floorboards) made the room feel slightly old. No major complains, but a couple of things dampened the experience for us - brown stains on bedsheet on first night but our sheets were promptly replaced when requested; housekeeper left a dirty pillow case in our room post-cleaning and it was left there for 2 nights; noise from bar across the road was pretty loud with non-existent sound proofing in the walls. While we were pretty tired and managed to sleep through the noise for most parts of the night, I imagine this could be a huge pain for light-sleepers.
The plus side of the hotel though is the very close proximity to the beach, which was the main reason we chose Aston as we intended to surf at Batu Bolong beach. Hotel staff were always smiling and courteous too.

Amazing location, perfect walking distance to the beach and all the main attractions. Great price especially if you get the inclusive with breakfast deal. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Only downside is the resort is slightly on the older side and the rooms were clean but could have done with a really good once over. All in all I would stay again, great for the price point and unbeatable location. If you’re staying in the lower level avoid a room near the sports bar.

The Aston is a great hotel. Rooms a very clean and staff a very helpful. Our room was top floor facing the street which was loud at night. So we asked to be moved to a quieter room.and was accommodated immediately. Breakfast was good and pool was lovely. Plenty of seating, comfy couch chairs and swings. There are no umbrellas though so if you dont like sitting in the sun that will be an issue. The position of the hotel is great close to many restaurants.

We had towels that looked like they were centuries old (almost a dark shade of grey instead of white), stained sheets and the noise from the bar downstairs and the rooftop was extremely loud and could be clearly heard in our room some times all night. Unfortunately, we ended our stay 2 nights early as this is more of a party hotel and we were keen to have some relax time. When we stayed here a DJ started blasting music poolside around midday everyday - Guests trying to read books and relax were not able to do so in comfort.
We did ask for the volume to be reduced on one day but this wasn’t really accomodated.
It was a bit strange as the DJ didn’t seem to be suiting the demographic of the guests. Not like this is a hostel with majority 18-early 20 year olds.
Anyway, staff were friendly and rooftop pool area is great, aside from the above mentioned issue.

Hotel staff were amazingly friendly and the location is superb. But, the first room we got was next to the reception on ground floor - the lower part of the mirror was black from mould? The room was not clean, it showed mould or rustiness on every corner. Also it was so loud because of the nearby clubs that we couldnt even sleep for a minute. Second room was better and cleaner but still noisy. Third room we finally got was perfect. But still bathroom curtain had mould and rust on it and in the morning we would wake up to loud noises from the coridor. All and all its a perfect hotel for people who want to party in Canggu. Unfortunately we were there to enjoy some quiet and calm and rest from a busy year.

Great Hotel

I really enjoyed this hotel. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was great. It has a lovely pool and the room is great. The only thing was I was staying on the 3rd floor and there seemed to be issues with the lift at least once a day.

Great stay

I really enjoyed this hotel. The breakfast is good, the staff are lovely and for me the location is perfect. It is in a noisy area so if you want an early night take ear plugs! But I didn't mind at all. I would recommend!

Our room was under the pool, sounded like they were moving furniture constantly,bed was concrete. Breakfast was not impressive.

Highly recommend this excellent hotel

An excellent hotel in a perfect location. Staff were warm and friendly. I requested a quiet room and there was no external noise. Room fitout was lovely with comfy bed and linen. Excellent pool area. Breakfast was fantastic. The hotel tour desk was really helpful with great drivers at a reasonable price. Only small complaint is that the gym needs some better equipment - barbells etc and improved air conditioning.
