Good service . I had a king room with a pool view and an outside toilet and shower with a bathtub.
Was really nice . Toilet shower and bathtub has a roof but the back half doesn’t . Had a nice bath . No mosquitoes.
Breakfast was ok. Wasn’t a huge selection but reasonable. I don’t eat eggs however they did cook eggs to order .
Well priced . Near beach and beach clubs . Short 15 walk to the restaurants and clubs . Really nice sports bar across the street.
My room at the back of the property was super quiet.
Will stay again .

My second time at Papillon.
The rooms are generous, clean and serviced each day.
The staff are unfailingly positive and helpful.
The whole place is kept clean & tidy.
Its location is perfect for a short walk (200 yds) to the beach and for plenty of bars & cafes.

Can't think why I would stay anywhere else.

Probably the best value of any hotel where I’ve ever stayed. It’s a three minute walk to a beautiful beach and they have three lovely pools. And the rooms are enormous. We had an incredible time here I couldn’t recommend it anymore. And their restaurant is also excellence.

This hotel was lovely, the rooms were huge and had a massive bathroom, the hotel offers three pools, this was nice to cool down on a hot afternoon. There is a cafe in the lobby where you also get a free welcome drink, all of the staff were really helpful and super friendly at the hotel. The hotel is in a great location a few minutes walk from the beach, many really good resturants and shops nearby and beach clubs are a short drive.

The property could use a refresher, but was very clean amd presentable. There is currently construction going on next door from 8:00am till 5:00pm mon-friday. The bar across the street plays karoke till midnight. That is aboit ot for the down side. The location is perfect for the beach. There are shops to be had nearby and ATM machines.

My stay at Pappilon was a pleasant one. Good hotel.

Pros - The hotel is in a prominent place. Canggu being a prominent hub, everything is close by (eateries, the beach, pharmacy, etc.)

The staff are excellent at their jobs and are very accommodating.

They are generous with water bottles even with a single traveler.

The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned regularly. The water pressure in the shower is satisfactory. The accent lights in the bedroom and bathroom are a nice touch.

Cons - If you book a Grab for yourself (online taxi service like Uber), they will not pick you up in front of the hotel. They’ll drop you off there but will not pick you up. Due to the language barrier, I couldn’t completely understand why it is this way but this is the case.
This could be an issue if you’re lugging heavy baggage during your trip and need to be picked up for the airport or another stay.
Having said that, to go around the city at your own leisure, there is a bike rental place right across from the hotel.

The bathrooms should be equipped with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner instead of the regular 2 in 1 shampoo and body wash.
There are also no hooks in the bathroom to hang your towel/clothes from after you’re done with your shower.

Most importantly, there was a window right above my bathtub with no blinds. While the likelihood of someone looking in might be less, it still made me feel rather uncomfortable to have windows with no blinds in the bathroom no less.

I’ve always stayed at Papillon Echo Beach whenever I visit, as my frequent spa place is nearby. Canggu has grown a lot more vibrant over the years & it’s so much more convenient with lots of offerings (cafes, restaurants, bars, beach clubs) nearby.

The bed is very comfortable & good room size. Floor is concrete which means no risk of dust mites & quite clean. Very good value for money!

A small flaw now at the hotel is that there is major construction right beside the hotel, so you might get hammering, knocking & talking sounds from 8am. The pillow casing & sheets are slightly stained, but this doesn’t bother me as I use my own sheets & travel pillow. Hotel sheets smell nice thou.

I booked this accommodation for my dad. It turned out to be average, contrary to the pictures shown on Expedia.

Staff has been alright however when my dad was trying to catch a taxi, they told him to walk away from the hotel if he isn’t willing to book a taxi they called. This unacceptable behaviour from hospitality staff.

What a great place to stay!

Started really well; after a 2 hour luggage delay at the airport my driver from the hotel was still patiently waiting outside 👍👏

There was a warm welcome from Sri when l arrived (approx 2.00 am).

I've stayed in various places in India, Sri Lanka & Bali but this was one of the best rooms l've had and it was cleaned each day with regular bedding changes.

The shower room was spotless & cleaned every day. The shower itself was excellent.

The outside areas were kept clean & tidy.

The reception area was bright & clean with cheerful helpful staff. (I didn't use the on-site bar/cafe but there seemed to be lots of folk who did).

It's less than 5 minutes stroll to the beach, there are lots of bars around (one across the road has live music that stops promptly at 11.00 pm) and some great options for food.

Overall very impressed and would happily stay again. Thanks to all the staff there (inc. Security) who do a great job. Chris B.

Construction made the stay unbearable

While checking in, the front desk associate informed me about construction next door. They required me to sign a form regarding it. However, they never expressed how close my particular room would be to the construction. I could open the window in my room and grab the rebar. My new wife and I thought we could survive our few night stay. We realized the next morning that we were wrong. The construction workers started using power tools at 7am directly outside our window. It was so loud.

When i went downstairs to complain they said the workers shouldn’t have started until 9am. They were “sending someone to tell them to stop”. The workers stopped for maybe 5 minutes and started right back up.

I asked for a refund of my stay and they said since I booked through Hotels.com i needed to contact them. My wife and i found another hotel and left. Through my refund request at Hotels.com the Papillon Echobeach hotel is stating they are holding to their “original policy” and rejecting the refund request.

This all has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and I cannot emphasize enough how much i recommend avoiding this establishment.

Location is walking distance to the beach, many shopping outlets, bars and with a live music venue across the road plus the best massage next door, you don’t need much else. An abundance of transport options if you do want to hit the clubs

First of all, I never write reviews, so when I do it means something went beyond my expectations. The staff at this hotel was amazing. Each was so helpful and on top of things. A light went out in my room and it was fixed when I came back. Also the front desk checked with me to acknowledge that it was fixed. Very impressive! Also when I left to go surfing. My room was fresh and clean when I came back. Anything and everything I needed was done immediately or in a timely manner. So the staff & service gets beyond the stars given here. The experience at this hotel was perfect. You just need to know there’s a bar with live music every night so if you want a quieter room choose the garden view rooms in back. You don’t hear the music back there :) Also Canggu is very convenient but if you want to walk around it’s VERY stressful cos of the tiny streets with no sidewalks and scooters and cars get very close to you. It’s better to travel via scooter if you can handle the very chaotic traffic. Hope this is helpful :)

Went to check in at 2pm, and the room wasn’t ready because the people staying there hadn’t left yet. Staff did nothing to move them, so my partner and I had to wait in a spare room for 3?hours until our room was ready. Then, our rooms Air conditioner didn’t work, I called for assistance, and they said they’d be right there! Except no one ever came to look at it. Overall poor staff and poor service.

I took the room with a pool view and stayed for a total of 6 nights(3 nights + extended for 3 more). The aircon wasn't working on the first night and despite calling the front desk, the technician did not come until I had to go there. Finally, they changed my room but then the mattress was very noisy and I couldn't sleep. The next day they finally changed my room and it was all good.

The pool is nice and cozy. Good breakfast options on the menu and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

lobby and reception was beautiful! upon checking in to our room we were told it would be quite loud from 8-12 bc of karaoke bar next door. we said okay, but around 11 that evening we realized how bad it really was. my boyfriend went to reception to ask for earplugs and they didn’t have any. so, obviously unhappy, he told them we weren’t feeling well (bali belly) and this room wouldn’t work for us. they promised to fix it the next day. so, they helped us move to a new room, further from the noise. this room was better, quiet, with a full shower instead of shower/bath combo and much for comfortable for us. they were super accommodating, even sending some rice to the room for us bc we missed breakfast from being so sick. when things go wrong during a stay-i like to the staff to have the opportunity to fix it, and in this case they did! they went above and beyond and I’m quite grateful for their amazing treatment! hotel is in a nice location in echo beach-easy walk to beach and lots of bars shops and restaurants. highly recommend this place!

Been here couple times now and just love everything about this hotel. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, phenomenal location, and it is where we stay for our trip everytime we come back to Canggu.

One minor con for anyone who goes to bed early...bring ear plugs for the DJs near by. Great Pro if you like to party!

First impression, the \"lobby\" is totally under construction. Then they tried to upsell us to a villa and I was wanting to ask for a discount because
of all the constry! You would have through they would upgrade us for free because of all the mess. Passingg by I didn't even think it was open. The room smelled like mold and my boyfriend had a bad allergic reaction and we had to change rooms. They changed us to a new room that was a little bigger and the room was nice, quiet, and didn't have the mold smell.

Overall, I still think we over paid for the value

Amazing hotel! The staff is so nice and makes it a point to say hi when you’re coming in or leaving. Walking to the rooms is so beautiful! The room itself had a really comfortable bed and since we had the villa on the first floor we had an outdoor shower and bathtub that were just amazing! Did not try the rooftop restaurant but it looked nice. Bit of construction in the lobby but it didn’t affect us at all except from just making the lobby look a bit less nice. Walk to the beach was a quick 3 minutes so we didn’t have to deal with the crazy traffic of Bali to get to the beach. So many nice restaurants, bars and places for happy hour! Our favorites were the Greek restaurant called Santorini (cheap and rly good), Green spot for great shisha and la brisa for day drinking (bit expensive though)

Our stay at Papillon was excellent. The location is amazing with everything you need at your doorstep or a short walk away, great restaurants, cafes, shops and the beach. The staff were lovely and friendly and willing to help. We stayed in a pool access room, the pool was great, a few more banana lounges would be good but not a big issue. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed.
