I faced the trapeze area which was fine. Did hear too much noise at some nights coming from the shows. I went solo , but made good friends with folks who liked to go on long beach walks, see Nat. Luyacan park and Gold Rock beach.

Room right on beach, beach was gorgeous! Perfect for budget friendly travelers. Rooms are clean, but are outdated and need to be renovated. In some rooms paint is clumpy and in places, peeling. Hanger rod and hooks were rusty. Loved the 3 restaurants on site, and enjoyed the daily/nightly entertainment. Would I go again? For the price, and the tranquil vibe, yes.

The staff ande the entire stay worth it. The hotel is old though.

The entertainment staff take the cake. The director, Carlos is the funniest dude I’ve seen doing this though. Pretty cool and talented people in the crew. Great daily shows.

The food and drinks were very good. Drinks were not watery like at some all inclusive resorts.

I would definitely recommend this place.

The staff was very nice! The resort was about half full and many of the activities were still not available or only open for a couple of hours. You have to get to guest services or the watersport center first thing each morning to schedule restaurants or an activity. The excursions were rescheduled or cancelled multiple times. If you want to swim with the pigs or most other excursions don't book with the resort which requires a 45 minute ride to pigs, just walk down the beach to the right to Cleveland's 5 minute walk better experience and prices. The nightly shows were fun. Water in shower is barely warm and had to keep asking for towels or wash clothes as they never left any after cleaning room. If you just want the beach, pool, buffet, bar, and nice staff then this is good for that.

First, I would like to say the staff was wonderful. Entertainment staff worked VERY hard--shout-out to Theo, those on Trapeze, teaching yoga, dance, etc. Another shout out to Kayshala who worked at customer service. She worked really hard to help us on multiple occasions. The bartenders were great, most of the restaurant staff great and everyone very friendly.
Now, I would give the food a zero star rating. It was boring and the same every single day. No flavor, no spices, just boring. For vegetarians, there were really few choices (I eat fish so that helped) I found one of chefs very rude as well as his sous chef and the restaruant manager on duty that day.
This is a old resort that is in need of a complete remolding. But the beach was wonderful and the ocean beautiful.

We purchased an ALL INCLUSIVE vacation at VFW.
When we arrived, we were informed that ONLY VIP MEMBERS would be served name brand beverages. This was a very disappointing revelation. Mostly friendly staff and beautiful property.
We also reserved a Superior KING room. We received a room with 2 smaller beds. We went on vacation to help boost our marital bond. Sleeping separately does not support that. If I had wanted the 2 smaller beds I would have reserved that style room.
Overall I’m giving a generous 2 star review. They really should consider treating occasional guests with the same benefits “ VIPS”enjoy. Less than bottom shelf liquor is NOT what was sold to in the grossly misleading resort description.

Overall, our stay was very good. We were welcomed with a fruit platter and champagne delivered to our room, which was a lovely gesture. However, the rooms definitely need renovation. In our bathroom there was mold on the ceiling, and the walls in the room were dirty. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean.
Despite the room issues, the atmosphere outside was wonderful and the staff were very friendly.

Stay: November 2025. Like most places, there were pros and cons.

Pros:
Beautiful beach and ocean views, fun activities like kayaking, archery, snorkeling.

Activity staff was very friendly and engaging. Enjoyed the pool side activities and appreciated the hard work they put in throughout the day all the way through the night shows.

Bar staff made good drinks and were always friendly and approachable.

Cons:
Property could use a refresh. Unfortunately photos in listing are for members-only rooms and the other rooms were dated and lacked adequate lighting.

Food was just average aside from Viva Cafe.

Some front lobby staff lack customer service. When setting up restaurant reservations, you have to reserve by room number, and # of people in your room. We had another party arrive a day after and could not add them to the reservation until they arrived and had a room number...not a problem. It was very difficult to add them the next day and guest service person seemed very annoyed she was being asked to do so. Got to the restaurant that night and they were not on the reservation. They eventually agreed to seat us but again seemed annoyed at doing so and their service towards our table was noticeably less than the other tables throughout the evening. Come to find out the other room was reserved for a completely different time than our reservation so there was no attempt by this person at guest services to try to add another room to our reservation.

Stay: November 2025 We did not receive the room type we reserved, and while mistakes happen, the front desk staff was rude, dismissive, and blamed Expedia instead of helping. Very poor customer service at check‑in.

Resort grounds were nice — good pool, beautiful beach, and fun activities like trapeze, archery, and nightly games/shows. Unfortunately, the rooms were old and worn: poor lighting, dingy showers, uncomfortable beds, thin sheets, and dated furniture. Walking past the “club” rooms, it was clear they were more updated than the standard rooms.

Food at the buffet was average. Restaurant reservations were frustrating — every guest needed a room number, but even after providing them, the info wasn’t passed to the restaurant, causing confusion and staff making a big deal about incorrect numbers.

Service overall was lacking. No staff came around for drink orders; everything had to be ordered at the bars, unlike other resorts we’ve visited.

Overall: Nice grounds and activities, but rude front desk staff, outdated rooms, and poor dining/service made this a disappointing stay.

Our stay started with the discovery that our bathroom was never cleaned before we checked into our room. A large clump of black hair came out of the drain when we first turned the shower on. It then took 2 additional attempts to clean the room to average standard.
The food at the buffet was not edible. No variety. Could tell that they used previous food and recycled it into other dishes. For example- hot dogs were on the lunch buffet when we arrived on Sunday. Saw those dogs for breakfast and lunch the next day. By the time they took them off the buffet, they were shriveling up and dry from sitting under the heat lamps.
It was not just the quality of food that was lacking, there was not enough food. They would make pancakes for the Buffett in the morning that opened at 7:00 am. They were gone by 8:00 and they would not make any more. Not much left on the buffett at 9:00.
The resort also needs to figure out how to keep the insects (especially flies and bees)off the food. Would find them stuck to the tongs!
The best part of the trip was the beautiful beach. Wyndham has made many improvements to the resort after a hurricane swept through 6 years ago, but rooms need renovation.

They have the potential to be a great place, but due to being poorly managed
housekeeping and food service the resort has a lot to be desired. If they would spend less time trying to get guests to buy into their VIP and vacation clubs, and more time making their resort better for current guests.

We would never stay here again or recommend it to others.

The floors in the rooms are always wet because of the AC causing condensation on the floors, mirrors, and windows. The room barely had any light so good luck getting ready. During my stay I slipped and fell multiple times on the hard floor due to the AC wetting the floor and due to one more fall as we were leaving, I will have to see a doctor with a toe injury.

The TV in our room was extremely outdated and barely worked—it even shut off completely for an entire night while it rained, leaving us with absolutely nothing to do. The toilet didn’t flush properly, and while the buffet food was decent, it was rarely open when we were actually hungry. They close many times a day. The snack bar, which stays open until 6 PM, only served burgers and hot dogs—and they often ran out.

On our last day, a tropical storm hit. Guests were advised to stay indoors, but at one point, the buffet, snack bar, and convenience store were all closed at the same time—leaving absolutely no food options for several hours. Meanwhile, staff were still working out on the beach. They also are unwilling to help with any discounted rates if a natural disaster cancels flights. They will happily leave you stranded even after you spent over 2k at their facility and show no type

Staff (Tacashanae and Jerry) had a horrible and rude attitude. Gave us a twin bedroom when we paid for a king. Then refused to accommodate and referred us to expedia for support. Flies everywhere in the buffet, the food is a 3/10. The two restaurants were terrible as well. I don't write bad reviews, but this one is an exception. We checked out a day early. The resort is in desperate need of remodeling or updating. When you arrive you will be met with a salesperson attempting to get you to sit through a sales presentation. If you decline, they will ask over and over. If you still decline, as we did, the sales lady just stared and frowned her face each time she saw us. We normally stay at five star accomodations so I had low expectations coming here and knew that I did not want to buy and of there \"timeshare\" packages. We reserved a king sized bed and received two double beds. Only 3 bottles of water provided for the entire 6 day stay. You must purchase more water or walk over to the main bar or buffet to fill your own water bottles. The staff was hit or miss. Some of the bartenders had condescinding comments when you requested certain bar drinks. We didnt receive beach towel cards upon arrival and was thoroughly questioned by the towel attendant as if we should have already known the rules. The food was basic bland american food and did not have pescatarian options other than Tilapia. There is no room service so if you want breakfast or lunch, you had to go to the buffet or beachside grill area where there were flies and bees all around. We had to walk down the beach to Clevelands beachside restaurant for good food or go offsite to the marketplace. The power went out one evening and it was very hot! The beach was the very best part of the resort. Crystal clear warm water! We even saw dolphins one morning. I wont be returning.

The resort itself was okay.However, my experience was unfortunately overshadowed by how my cousin and I were treated compared to some of the white guests. We noticed a clear difference in the level of attention and friendliness we received from certain staff members, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome at times. While not every staff member behaved this way, the contrast in service was noticeable and disappointing. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because this property has so much potential, and all guests should feel equally valued and respected.

The food options sucked. Shall I say that again? The food options suck. For a 7 day stay we only got to use the actual restaurants 3 times. This was not advertised on their website and we did not learn this until we arrived. You had to make reservations to eat at the restaurant and it was a fight to get that reservation. One lady we met there did not get all 3 of her nights. Once you did get to eat in the restaurant it was just dressed up food from the buffet. Putting a flower on a plate of buffet food is NOT eating in a restaurant you had to fight to get into. In order to eat we had to eat at the terrible buffets. It was so one night we walked off property and went to a local restaurant. We also had to go to a grocery store to get bottled water, it was not provided. I spent a lot of money for a mediocre experience. Stay somewhere else even if it costs more. Not worth it.

We liked that there were different restaurant options for the resort because we didn’t care for the buffet too much. The restaurants were outstanding though! The ladies at the spa were very nice as well. We wish the area they did the shows would have had some ac so we didn’t get overheated. We never got to see any of the shows because it was just too hot. We really enjoyed listening to the lady sing every night. The resort was not over crowded. We had a very nice stay overall. Everyone was very polite!

My sink wouldn’t drain. I called engineering at 7 AM and they knocked on my door at 930 PM after my baby was asleep and woke us up. It took a few hours to get her back to bed.

On Mondays they have very loud entertainment till midnight. We were near it and this also woke up my baby. I had to soothe her for an hour and a half until it stopped then it took me an hour to put her back to bed.

They ran out of milk in the entire hotel one of the days and well that’s what my baby eats all day. They told me to get in a taxi to get some, it’s about 20 minutes each way. This is how I spent one of my vacation mornings. I’m also 7 months pregnant.

I got no sleep and couldn’t even relax due to the milk situation. This is probably the worst vacation I ever had.

This property is over rated. The buildings are old, the grounds need a lot of TLC. broken tiles, and rust, furniture broken, and faded. Food was cold, flies on the buffet. THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS PROPERTY WAS SOME OF THE STAFF. Some of the staff very helpful. (staff working the area that gave out the beach towels, and wait staff at the Italian restaurant). I would return to this property. Front desk/guest services disorganized. Long lines at check in with only one person at desk. Go over to make dinner reservations stood in that line for 40 mins. And they still got my dinner reservations wrong.

The beach was the only great thing about this property. The rooms were rundown, not what was depicted in the pictures. The beds very uncomfortable. The pool had limited shady options with several broken umbrellas. The food was limited to the buffet which was only ok and very limited for vegetarians. This was our first experience with all inclusive and it was very disappointing.

The beach was awesome and the view from the room great. The big problem was they have a buffet and three restaurants. You have to have a reservation to eat at the restaurants. We tried to get a reservation first thing after we checked in and all 3 restaurants were booked for the whole week so nothing but the buffet for us. We really wanted to try the different restaurants

Spend a little extra money and actually enjoy your vacation.

The issues....

The island experiences rolling blackouts during the summer meaning, randomly for hours your room will not have AC. When I tried to talk to the front desk about this the manager, Alejandra Ramirez, laughed at me multiple times.

The food is horrid. It's nearly impossible to get a reservation at any of the restaurants and you're forced to eat at the fly infested buffet that does not have any air conditioning. The food at the buffet looks like dog food. I survived off potato chips and bread. The breakfast buffet is not ready when it opens. Bacon and sausage usually doesn't get rolled out until about 9am. Frozen drinks aren't ready until mid-afternoon.

The service is absolutely awful. If you ask employees for something they give you a nasty look. We were told, 'theres no ketchup, it's on the truck for today'. I was also told by someone they had no hot sauce, when I asked somebody else they went and got it for me.

This is the only resort I've been to where you do not get bottles of water. The front desk gave my pregnant wife a hard time about asking for a water bottle, even though the water in the bathroom is not drinkable.

The rooms are old and dirty. Things around the resort are broken and just caution taped off, including the pool stairs and half of the 8 or so umbrellas at the pool.

Bottom line, go somewhere else and enjoy your vacation.

This is not a high quality resort like we expected. It is a typical timeshare quality property. The sheets felt sandy and had hair in them; we also found hair in the towels daily. The water temperature fluctuates +/- 10 degrees in shower. The food from the main dining was mediocre at best, very cafeteria-style seeming. The property is advertised as all-inclusive but the “good” restaurants were never available during our stay and no exceptions or accommodations were made when we asked the front desk for help. We finally had pizza delivered from Mario’s and it was great. The beach, sand, and water are great; however, that’s more-so credit to the Bahamas than the resort. The pool is nothing special and overly crowded at most times. Most of the staff were kind. We would not recommend this property when you can find much better alternatives for similar pricing.

Well disappointed is an understatement. The island, the resort, the beach… everything on island was closed, we were here for 5 days & the market never opened completely. The resort, just don’t do it. The food was maybe a 3, there is NO shade at the pool, hot tub or kids pool. There is nothing for the kids at all. No slides, splash pad and the kids club is as closed our whole stay. The excursions are subjective per weekday which sucks if you want to do a specific one that is only offered Wednesdays. A positive is the A/C is the rooms is crisp cold. The staff is friendly & welcoming.

Slow WiFi, ants and bees everywhere, soap and shampoo dispensers were empty, mattress was awful, dining room had no screens in the windows so the flies ate as good as us at the buffet, gross. Would it recommend but it was inexpensive. You get what you pay for.

By far this is one of the Best Beaches for those that want to relax and have Fun while getting a great Tan. Staff is excellent and thoughtful. House calls once and a while to see if you need anything. Front Desk always picked up the phone.Della, Nathan and Tachushoshanna. (Tee) Was the Best. Ocean Front or view is the Best for Price. Our room1206 in the Brown Building was on the Beach! Exactly what we paid for. We Love this place! The Dolphin Experience at Sanctuary Bay. Put on your Bucket list ASAP!
