Cute little dormer had everything we needed. Much more than a “room rental.” Owners very helpful and anxious to please. Abundance of info given on surrounding areas and dining. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dining options they recommended. We should have paid more attention to the detail that renters need to climb 3 sets of stairs. We did not have a problem with that (other than ground or second floor would have been easier) or but others may. A good experience for us.

We stay here every year because it is so amazing. Veda and Bill and so accommodating and the Inn is so beautiful. Breakfast is an added bonus because it is always amazing as well.
The Inn is also so close to the beach, restaurants and anything you would want to do.

My wife and I stayed here this past weekend (Late Sept 2025). It was spot on in all aspects from cleanlessness to bed comfort. Bill and Veda were very hospitable and their breakfast was tasty perfect for a day's start. HIGHLY recommended!!

A cut above

Wonderful place to stay on the Outer Banks. You get to know the other guests and the owners over a home cooked breakfast every morning and they now put out wine in the evening. The Inn provides a far more personal and homey experience than the nondescript hotels lining the beaches on the Outer Banks. Definitely a cut above!

Cypress House Inn was welcoming and a pleasant experience from check in to check out. The breakfast was amazing. Very nice decor throughout the home and a very clean appearance. We had the best time at Cypress House. Very cute place with many amenities to support time at the beach. Centrally located to everything. The beach is right across the street.
Breakfast was fantastic and Bill was so great to talk to. Even though they had a death in the family while we were there they had a backup plan and we were still well cared for.

This was our first stay at a B&B and I don't believe we could have made a better choice. The house was lovely, inside and out, and our hosts were friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and quite comfortable. Breakfast was scrumptious and the time to sit around the table and visit with the other guests and our hosts was time well spent. We hope to return again next year!

We were welcomed by Veda and Bill and felt very comfortable from the start. They were very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. We enjoyed meeting other guests from other parts of the country. The room was cozy, the bathroom was modern, and the breakfasts were delicious. We especially liked the availability of water, coffee, and tea in the upstairs hallway.

We had a perfect stay at the Cypress Inn. The innkeepers were very hospitable, friendly and informative. Our room was clean and cozy. There was coffee, tea and hot chocolate always available; which I enjoyed. The location to the beach was excellent. There was a lot to explore close to the B&B.

Cypress Inn is a perfect location to visit for exploring the Outer Banks. It’s right at the entrance to the beach, a great bike rental is a 5 minute walk away and we could bike to the Wright National Monument. Many restaurant offers and we loved the homemade breakfast each day at the inn. The guest room was spacious, cozy and the modern bathrooms were perfect. Can’t wait to visit Bill and Veda in the future.

We feel that we stayed at the PERFECT PLACE!!! Loved the east access to the beach, the wonderful breakfast, the beautiful room and bath but most of all, Veda and Bill are great hosts!! I would recommend this Inn to everyone I know that is traveling to this area. I haven’t mentioned how fun the area is but the whole area is relaxing
, has great seafood restaurants, the Wright Brothers Memorial brought to life just what the brothers went through in planning and executing the first flight; we loved seeing the lighthouses (the Bodie Island Lighthouse was our favorite) but the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was amazing as well and to know that engineers planned and had a team move this lighthouse 2,900 feet in 1999 to protect it from being washed out in the ocean was an unbelievable feet. If you are looking for a vacation where you just want to relax, this is it!! Thank you to the Cypress Inn for the nice accommodations!! Harold & Paula Cornett

Our stay at Cypress House Inn was wonderful; magical! The inn was the exact old beach house setting we wanted for a trip to the Outer Banks. House is all charm but with every modern comfort and unbeatable hospitality from Bill and Veda. Breakfasts were so delicious and served outside at individual tables. Loved the coffee bar outside our room; beach accessories provided; comfortable bed, and the location was fabulous - about halfway between our ventures north and south and steps from the beach. I highly recommend Cypress House Inn for a few days or a whole week. We hope to come back again!

Wonderful stay at the Cypress House Inn! It’s a block from beach and the service was the best. Bill shared his extensive knowledge of the area with us each morning. We had delicious breakfasts during our three days: fresh fruit followed by French toast, pancakes or quiche.

The loft was the perfect room for our family of four. It’s spacious, clean and there's a deck with some views of the ocean. We had beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler bag with reusable ice packs, umbrella and picnic basket. When I asked about boogie boards, Bill was very responsive and we had a couple to use right away.

It’s not a full kitchen but there is a fridge, microwave/air fryer, coffee maker and cups/glasses/utensils. The location is about the middle of the Outer Banks, which worked well for us too.

I've found this gem while looking for a last minute trip for my Birthday. It's very central and convenient to all my activities for that weekend. But the best part, is the beach, and is just across the beach. The owners made me feel like home.

This was our first time staying at Cypress Inn. Our first impression of the place was amazing! It was so clean and charming. Veda and Bill were so kind and welcoming. We had everything we needed. Our room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and we had plenty of hot water for showers. They provided us with beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and even a bicycle. The cleaning lady was very kind to us as well. Our breakfast was elegant and our conversations with Veda,Bill and other guests were very nice at the dining room table. We came back this year for 3 nights after a fabulous stay last year and had another great experience in every aspect! The hosts, Bill and Veda are attentive and treat you like family. Our rooms both times have been spotless and well-kept. Every detail is accounted for and similar to a boutique hotel with home-like charm. You can't beat the location which is centrally located in the OBX and literally across the street from the ocean with easy access. Bill is also the best concierge and will give you honest reviews and suggestions for things to do, places to eat, etc and knows all the local history to add to your adventures. The full breakfasts are wholesome, fresh and best eaten in the fresh air under the covered porch (in our opinion). Such a refreshing place to stay! Highly recommend!

This was our second time at Cypress Inn. Your host, Bill, is a very hospitable and welcoming person. I feel at ease as soon as soon as I walk in. The official greeter, Sassy, is there to say “hi”. You won’t find a sweeter and calm dog. Our room was clean and comfortable. Bill will spoil you with his homemade breakfasts and a few stories sprinkled in. He is a wealth of knowledge about local history and what to do for some entertainment. Cypress Inn is a total winner in my book.

Outstanding location 200 yards from the beach . Great food . The owner and his daughter exhibit near - gourmet chef skills . Despite staff shortages state wide , housekeeping is outstanding . Great parking . Cozy ambience. The owner is the most gracious person . Beds are very comfortable . A/ C is great . Felt more at home here than at my place. The only reason i did not give this place 10 stars is Expedia would not let me . If you are going to stay in only one place on the outer banks this is the one to chose. Wonderful stay at this Inn in the outer banks. close to the Wright Bros museum (we biked there) and just across the beach road from the beach. Large backyard where we did yoga and relaxed. They have beach chairs, blankets, umbrellas for use on site and also 2 bikes in great condition to use (no charge!). the host, bill, is a gem. they accommodated our vegetarian, Gluten sensitive diets for breakfast with ease. Wonderful stay and highly recommended!!

This is a hidden gem. We stayed two nights to attend a wedding in Nags Head. the Inn is confident to the beach(across the street), you can walk to the Wright Memorial, great location. Plus the breakfast each morning was homemade and delicious! We will be back.

We absolutely loved this place. We had booked for our honeymoon it was so clean and quiet. Mr. Bill and Ms. Vita we’re so nice, it was like you were home talking to family and the breakfast was delicious every morning. The room was very clean and had the option to keep towels all week or to get new. Recycling cans were out for all to use, and a Keureg was available for coffee and a water cooler also. We will definitely be staying here again.

Very convenient for the beach. You can cross the street and beach access is opposite the house. Beach towels and equipment are provided. Each room has a small refrigerator which is very useful. There is a relaxed atmosphere at breakfast, cooked and served by your friendly host, Bob. His grandson was able to fix an issue we had with the tv and he was very pleasant and helpful. In th upstairs hallway there is a Keurig coffee station which is always available plus a large water cooler for the guests. This area is well supplied and much appreciated.
Breakfast was simple and Bob kindly explained what he served each morning. Enjoyed dinner at OBX Brewing Station just a few blocks away. Thanks Bob and Veda for a relaxing stay.

It was absolutely amazing. The owners are so kind and sweet. The breakfasts they serve are the most delicious we have ever had. Their muffins are especially delicious. Great place for the long weekend!

We were looking for something different than a hotel. We decided to stay in the Cypress House Bed and Breakfast Inn. It was a very enjoyable stay. We also had some interesting conversation with our host, Bill and the other guests. This is a family run establishment that we truly found no faults to list. Cypress House Inn was a great place to stay during my recent trip to the OBX! The location is great - right across the street from the beach, plus walking distance to a number of restaurants. Also centrally located to easily drive north to Duck / Corolla or south to Nags Head. Bill and his family were very friendly and accommodating, serving a delicious breakfast on a daily basis and offering amenities such as coffee / water available throughout the day as well beach towels and chairs to borrow for the beach. The room was clean, and they're making a good effort during COVID-19 to provide hand sanitizer, promote distancing during breakfast, etc. Would highly recommend.

I don't think we could have found a better place to stay. Everything was superb! From the room, coffee/tea/water station that's available 24/7, beach chairs and umbrellas, regular umbrellas if raining, beach towels, board games - I mean I can go on and on but they thought of everything. Beach was across the street, so convenient! BREAKFAST - ohh breakfast was the best. I don't eat pork and Bill made sure that I always got turkey version of everything - ham, sausages, patties, etc. He accommodated my dietary preferences better than I accommodate myself at home. Most of all, we miss our morning conversations with Bill and cuddles with Sassy (his dog). Bill was an absolute delight to talk to and we briefly met his wife Vita (I think that's a correct spelling) - what a wonderful family. May I add he even let us take Sassy for a beach stroll and that just made my day since we don't have a dog of our own and desperately want one. Lastly, everything was very safe when it comes to COVID, everyone was spaced out appropriately during breakfast and everyone staying at the house was very considerate - including noise (never got woken up and we tend to sleep in). Can't recommend Cypress House Inn more!!!

So happy we chose Cypress House Inn. It was a perfectly wonderful stay. The Inn was cozy, clean and very unique in the furnishings. We loved it. Bill, the InnKeeper, is one in a million. From the time we arrived until we left he was kind, knowledgeable, and a great host. His breakfasts were delicious! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I give it the best rating overall that you can give.

This was our first time visiting OBX and we were lucky to have found The Cypress House Inn. From the moment we arrived, my husband and I felt taken care of...the room was spotless and Bill was accommodating in every way. Breakfast each morning was delicious and for me gluten free. Small businesses are struggling during this time, please consider this when choosing a place to stay. Our visit here exceeded our expectations and we feel like we made a friend. Thank you Bill!!

Excellent place, very close to the beach.

The house is old and nice, allmade with wood. It is kept in very good condition and smells like brand new. The decoration is very appropriate for a beach house. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. Everything immaculate.
Service was 5 stars +. In the morning Bill -the owner - made breakfast like for royalty. 5 stars plus.
A place to come back.

Hidden Gem in Kill Devil Hills

We had a wonderful stay! Highly recommend staying at Cypress House Inn. The inn is cozy and located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills and across the street from the beach! The innkeeper, Bill, took very good care of us and made amazing breakfasts each morning.
