Tingum has the Bahamian charm we were looking for. The Staff is overly accommodating, allowing you to relax fully. We really enjoyed the ease of the continental breakfast. Which consisted of fruit, choice of bagel, coffee & juice. Other options are available for purchase. We had the grilled lobster twice which was one of our favorite meals. Baby Ruby will take care of you like family. Great value for the rate. We will be back.

Tingum Village is my home away from home! So calming listening to the birds and roosters, relaxing in my beautiful room, and befriending the owner, Juanita, and her dedicated staff, Crystal, Lucy, and Mikey while enjoying meals and drinks in the friendly restaurant and bar areas. This is the only truly Bahamian hotel experience on Harbour Island and has been owned by the same family for decades! I’m not interested in corporate operated resorts, but prefer the warm welcome I receive every time I walk in the door during my stay! Lots of laughs and good conversation with everyone at Tingum! Miss you until next year!!

The photos on the website do not reflect the current condition of the property. It is quite outdated and needs attention. The room’s kitchen is mediocre at best. The hotel lounge is dark and uninviting with only four stools. The room decks or patios offer no view, inhibited by a five-foot lattice fence. Appreciated the simple breakfast each morning. Don’t be lured in by the use of “charming” to describe the inn. This is a bare bones experience in a tired space.

The staff were very nice. A very nice setting as well. Big problems with water my first night which could have been handled better, perhaps a discount? Wireless was not good in my room. Still, I would recommend Tingum as a good spot surrounded by much more expensive options.

My wife and I had a smooth and pleasant check-in at Tingum Village. We were given a wonderful room with a comfortable king-size bed, and it set the tone for a fantastic stay. The staff were exceptional—helpful, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile.

This isn’t a 5-star hotel, but it delivered exactly what we were looking for: comfort, charm, and genuine hospitality. It felt like a true home away from home.

Baby Ruby out did herself. From the moment we stepped of the ferry we were greeted with kindness and efficiency. We received a celebratory anniversary welcome with flowers and champagne.During our stay everyone was extremely attentive. The bar and restaurant was not only convenient, but had wonderful food. Golf cart rentals available at the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Booked trip to bahamas with tingum village hotel and expedia. Expedia had us flying. To nassau but tingum village is on an entirely different island which requires an entirely different flight. Customs would not allow us in bahamas unless we booked a different hotel. When i filed complaint and asked for refund with expedia both expedia and tingum village denied my refund request. Piss poor customer service and will mever book with expedia or tingum village again

The staff was so friendly and always greeted us, which was lovely. The included continental breakfast included was light (fruit, toast or bagel and beverages) but quite good. I can only give 3 stars overall however due to value- rate paid versus quality of product- and Wi-Fi issues. The main problem was Wi-Fi, as it is listed on the property’s booking site and I also called before booking to confirm since we needed to work a full day from the hotel including video calls that required privacy. I was told Starlink was available specifically in the rooms so we booked at a hefty price tag. Unfortunately, we discovered internet was not accessible in the rooms (networks displayed but would not connect), and it was only able to connect in the lobby area (and we were in a room quite close to the lobby). We had issues with the Wi-Fi dropping out intermittently but managed through. We heard another guest complaining about no Wi-Fi, so I know it was not just our devices or room. We ended up working and taking calls & meetings from the lobby/restaurant area, which I hated doing with other guests around & possibly disturbing them. While the room was very spacious and tropical, the appliances and plumbing fixtures were extremely old. The flow from the shower head was barely a trickle & the hair dryer was equally low pressure. Clearly repairs & additions had been made in certain areas with plywood and not expertly done. I expected more when paying equal to a premium or luxury US hotel.

The stay in the hotel overall was great but the service in the restaurant was terrible, the worst experience ever. Staff was so slow, once we had to wait 1,5h to be seated, than another hour to get our food and than another half an hour to get a bill. Never ever in my life seen such a slow people. It wasn't even busy to give them an excuse. Prices for food were extremely expensive.

A great place to stay. Would definitely stay again. I loved that it is locally owned and staffed. The room was great. Plenty of towels and toiletries to use. The breakfast was simple by tasty. The staff was overall very friendly. We got a complimentary late check out, which we greatly appreciated. The only downside was that the ventilation duct in the bathroom is communicated with other rooms, and you can hear conversations and noises very clearly from other rooms.

Juanita runs Tingum Village. She goes above and beyond to make her guests feel at home and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable. They have a fridge, microwave, TV, AC and fans in each room. Tingum Village is very laid back and friendly. Dylan gave exceptional dinner service. Sally offered to give us a lift in her golf cart to the beach out of the goodness of her heart. Franklin is a wonderful man that you will meet at TV. He will do anything for you and he has great stories. Juanita has golf carts right on property with great rates. Rent from Juanita. Tingum Village is very clean and their menu is very good.

Upon my arrival at Tingum Village, I was utterly displeased with the resort. The roof was leaking, and there was a strong smell of mold in the room. My staff and I left the resort and found another hotel on the island instead. With this being my experience, I reached out to Expedia and requested a refund, but they refused to refund my money

Loved our stay - in particular the staff running it! They are warm and friendly locals, especially if you are genuine too. Our room was clean and very accommodating, although do have to request to clean it. They conveniently offer cart rentals on site. The hotel felt totally safe. Now possibly the bad news: this is not a fancy hotel. It has a local feeling to it. It’s very simple. Sometimes the power goes out. Sometimes the water pressure is low or water is cold. There was a strange and quite large vent above the shower head. But hotel was walkable to town, has a great local feeling bar on site, and the best burgers in town. The staff are helpful but it’s a very laid back vibe. You want new towels? It may take a while. Garbage emptied? It may take a while. But if all that doesn’t bother you then this is your place. :)

What a great little family establishment!
The staff couldn’t be more accommodating and when we had a slight inconvenience they comped our dinner!
It’s very quite and peaceful, and only a short walk to the main part of town or the beach.

Weird vibe. We stayed for over $400/night. Location is terrible with noisy generator, roster crows all night and area around it is a junk yard. Definitely got gouged because of late booking and low availability. No house keeping service. Restaurant food was inconsistent. Service is poor and slow, a whole other level to island pace. Room included breakfast. But only the continental breakfast. This was a piece of toasted presliced bagged bread, coffee and a slice of melon. It’s listed for $15 which seems crazy even for Harbour Island. Arthur’s bakery gives omelette, bread and fruit for same price. They don’t allow you to apply the continental breakfast cost to an egg breakfast. Omelette was good some days, bad other, and cost $18 just for the omelette, no toast, no fruit, no potatoes, etc. Roster would crow at 2AM and not stop till light. Location is also outside the best area on busier road. We spent our last 2 nights at another hotel that was more central between the marina and government dock. It was much better and really improved our whole experience. Before we left they went and inspected our room … maybe to make sure we didn’t steal the soap dish … or TV??? Tingum has a weird vibe … like they are laughing all the way to the bank taking advantage of visitors.

The biggest disappointment was the Customer Service at the hotel. The trip I had long awaited for unfortunately flight was canceled due to the airlines fault, but they did not respond when I reach out to the hotel to let them know what was going on. Even after booking agent contacted the hotel they did not respond right away by phone. Later on after I have reached out to them and they didn’t not response, it took a few days but then they responded saying that they will not be giving me a refund other hotels give me refund when I let them know that I could not use the room due to some emergency reason that is of no fault of my own. Tingum village hotel was the worst because they never reach out to me personally to try to make things better for me even if I had given them a bad review they could have given me a refund to change the review but they never did because they would rather steal my $ for two people to stay there for seven days. they are taking advantage of vulnerable customers whose flight was canceled and there were many. I will give no Star if I could!

Tingum Village was our favorite part of the Bahamas vacation and we did everything there was to do on Harbour Island. We were given authentic Bahamian hospitality. Baby Ruby and all her staff took such good care of us- and were available at all times of the day and night providing sunburn cream, extra towels, and advise about what to do. The restaurant food was delicious, and Mike, our Bahamian chef, even cooked the fish we caught from the boats that day. The continental breakfast was perfect and the coffee was the best on the island. The beach was a short walk and so was the harbor. The internet did not work great and the water pressure in the shower was a little light, but it didn't matter a bit. Air conditioning was awesome and cabins very comfortable and clean. The porch and hammock in the gardens were perfect for a shaded afternoon nap. We loved staying here, and when it was time to leave...I misplaced my cards and they came in to help me look. She found where I had put them but didn't remember. They even gave us a ride to the dock to catch the water taxi. Tingum also had brand new golf cart rentals. We highly recommend the Tingum experience and we can't say enough great things about this gem of a place.

Tingum was a dream! From the second we got there everyone was so friendly. Our briland suite was clean and cool. Three AC units, super hot water, large fridge for beer and leftovers. The free breakfast consisted of fruit and bagels which was light and easy to start the day at the beach. Our friends spent a lot more at surrounding hotels and were totally jealous of our setup. Cheeseburger in paradise was written here and it was so accurate. Can’t wait to go back, thanks again yall!!

Had a great, relaxing time here. Buildings are old, but clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water, cold air conditioning, comfortable bed, etc. Owner of the business was present every day and was extremely welcoming and did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The whole place has a very warm \"family\" atmosphere to it. Would definitely stay here again. Might be the best option when it comes to affordable lodging on an otherwise fairly expensive island.

We liked the rooms and the setting, and the staff was very friendly and the food was good, but nothing worked. The internet/wifi was down throughout our stay so the tv didn’t work which wasn’t a big deal except when it was raining, and the jacuzzi tub didn’t work, which had been sort of touted to us for the room we’d booked. Then the morning of our departure the water was off so we couldn’t wash up before we left. Much of this was blamed on local infrastructure but if outages like that are customary why not invest in a generator? Especially for the price we were paying.

Harbour Island is an incredibly magical place and there are a lot of ways to experience it. You could stay in a super fancy resort on the beach, tie up your yacht in the marina, or AirBnb a tucked away house. Tingum Village is the place you go if you want to feel embedded in the island community- and it’s a beautiful, kind, generous and centered community. Ma Ruby is the hard working, problem solving, island historian and caring host. We will be back and we’ll stick to Tingum. There are fancier places, but this family owned hotel is priceless.

How could I rate something if they didn't have a room for us on our arrival date due to overbooking (the owner said a glitch on the system) on our arrival date I was bounced around and didn't get an answer, went to the alternative hotel that according to the owner she booked 2 rooms for us and they didn't have any reservations for us! I started calling other properties and finally got 2 rooms for the length of my stay. Called Expedia next day via chat (with Ahmet) and he helped me out with the cancellation of this reservation? who was never honored by the owner of Tingum. This person at Tingum told Ahmet that she had upgraded us and reserved rooms for us at the Romora, when I called them they had never heard about a reservation on our name and/or from Tingum. I am not going to make any reviews about this place as they don't deserve good and/or bad comments, but if they can't honor a reservation they shouldn't be accepting any electronic reservations through Expedia.
By the way, Ahmet was efficient, friendly and professional helping me solve this problem, thanks for your great work! This Island is very expensive and we were traveling for work (crewmembers of a private aircraft) luckily we solved the lodging problem still within budget as the other alternatives were almost double the price or of very low quality.

Juanita knows everyone and it shows. When travel to the island went awry she made arrangements and stayed late to get us checked in welcome us home. Food is great and local. Tips of where to go and explore are perfect. After adventurous days you can rest wel. The beaches are amazing and at times you feel like no one else is on the beach and much of the time that’s true. I’ve never met a more tentative and caring hotel owner than Juanita. AKA Baby Ruby! She runs a tight ship and she and her staff couldn’t be more kind. If she felt something wasn’t up to her liking or standard, she made sure it was taken care of. I loved my “Deluxe Standard” room. It definitely reflected the feel of a true Bahamian setting. By the time our visit was over, we felt like family and were talking plans for the future. Juanita definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! There are a few friendly roosters on the property, so if you’re a light sleeper bring along some ear plugs. Highly recommend the Tingum Village Hotel.

If I could rate higher than excellent, I would.
Juanita was incredible in every way. She was the perfect hostess and she and her staff treated our group of 9 people like family.
If you are looking for an authentic Bahamian experience then you should book with Tingum Village. I know we will be back.

Tingum Village is rustic, but overall in a good way. The shower could use some improvement and there could be a toilet paper holder on the wall right next to the toilet. Nonetheless, the grounds and surroundings are quite superb and charming with much greenery, and the staff are amazing and friendly and go out of their way to help when needed. The place has a real, authentic Bahamian feeling that isn't necessarily present at many other, more expensive hotels.

A piece of advice for future travellers...in certain sections you do need a flashlight to walk through at night because it could get quite dark.

We stayed at the tingum for one night. There was no hot water, in our very filthy bathroom. we told the woman working and she acted surprised but offered no solution or apology. Based on previous reviews the water pressure and temp have always been an issue. The site advertises bar and restaurant on site but they were both closed. There were a copious amount of roosters that started shrieking at 2am till 6am right outside our room which made our sleep absolutely awful. Even though the food was shut down they said they’d still honor our continental breakfast which was 4 grapes and half of a banana. Pretty overpriced for what they offer, especially when what they offer isn’t included when you get there.

This was a the perfect local hotel, or really like a bed and breakfast. The owner is super helpful and attentive. The rooms were well maintained and clean. For a real Bahamian feel, Tingum Village is the place to stay.

If you are looking for a true Harbour Island experience it is at Tingum. The best thing about Harbour Island is that the locals give a great sense of kindness and connection.

Ma Ruby was known from the Jimmy Buffet song cheeseburger in paradise. Its the same chef 32 years later.

He also makes they best conch fritters on the island.

Do not rent golf carts from anyone else. They have the best ones. Almost new.

It is not fancy...it is charming.

Amazing stay. If you need an American style Holiday Inn this is not for you. If you want a local vibe with warm customer service this is your place. On-site restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. The staff made sure to go above and beyond celebrating another guests birthday. Our room had a HUGE comfortable bed, a jacuzzi style tub, private porch and private hammock. Yes there are chickens. There are also chickens in Hawaii and just about every island on the planet. That’s just how it is. They did not bother us. Water pressure was great. Highly recommend visiting Ms. Juanita and her property. She also rents golf carts from her property which are great. The upgraded tires are very useful for exploring the island.
