The pool furniture was in disrepair and everything at the resort looked like it was very old/falling apart. The upstairs bedroom was carpeted and the carpet is very old and smelly and musty. The bedding was very old and the furniture was also very worn/old. The supplies in the kitchen looked like they were found at a garage sale. For the very high price tag I would not stay there again unless the whole place got a refresh.

I had the most wonderful stay! The staff were so wonderful and friendly and accommodating. They set up a golf cart rental for me on arrival and took care of all the arrangements. The food & drinks at their bar was excellent. The location is conveniently just footsteps from the water taxi. The room was enormous, clean, and had everything you could ever need for your trip. A great coffee shop right next door. And that pink sand beach was far better than I imagined it would be. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer … but I will most definitely be back and I will be staying at this hotel again. Thanks for an unforgettable experience

The a/c vents were dirty, received a dirty towel from the initial housekeeping, the room had an overbearing musty scent (possibly from the cloth couch &/ the bed skirt) and the shower was infested with sewer gnats (we keep a wet towel over the drain to keep them out). Extremely disappointed.

4th year, of 5 day stays, 4 months in a row, staying at Valentines Resort and Marina. Location and amenities were a strong 4 star in the beginning. But each year has gotten worse. Room maintenance has deteriorated but worse has been the staff and dining / bar area. Quality and speed of service and food has gotten horrible. Seems to be plenty of wait staff available but little desire to be attentive or diligent in their duties. Meanwhile menu choices have reduced and quality of food preparation has declined. Food / bar quality and service is a huge part of any resorts amenities. This decline can only be laid on management. It is a shame to see this decline as Valentines was a great experience all around. And could be again.

The sofa bed wasn’t made so we had to make the bed ourselves. After paying over $600 a night I was disappointed. Also the hotel at first claimed I made a purchase that was charged to our room which was not true. We paid cash for it. In addition it refused to issue a final receipt showing that we had no outstanding balance because we booked the rooms through Expedia. The staff members are nice but the service is slow at the restaurant. Will not stay there again.

To be clear - Valentine’s is NOT on the beach. With their photos, they sort of imply that they are. That being said, I would still rather stay at Valentine’s. They’re on the other side of the island from the beach and it’s about a 5-minute walk (no joke, the island is that slim). The side that Valentine’s is on sees better sunsets and is way less windy. They also have lounges and umbrellas on the beach dedicated to Valentine’s (as in the photos) so it’s not hard to claim a space.

The staff are excellent and very kind.

The pool os heated perfectly.

The drinks at the bar are well made and the food is pretty good too! (If slightly expensive.)

I came here for my 40th birthday. Drinks and food were extremely expensive and staff was friendly I guess but I'd have to follow up with pretty much everything I ordered. Also by biggest issue was that there was rarely any hot water. I was only to get a hot shower early in the morning if I go up around 7 am and that was possible because the rooster outside of my unit started screaming every morning at 2am and didn't stop until 7am. It was impossible to sleep. After bringing it up to the front desk I only got a \" oh ok\"... I decided to cut my trip short due to lack of sleep and checked out a day early on my birthday. Front desk lady once again just said OK and that was it.
It wasn't a good experience at all.

If I complain i would be wrong!!! The hospitality blew me away. Customer service at Valentines Harbour Island is the bomb!!! Every single person we came into contact with on the property were so warm and the sweetest personalities I've ever encountered at any hotel. I thought that the police would've had to come get me because didn't want to leave LOL... 5 STARS!!!

the hotel is very nice. One really bad experience- an employee had to have copied my credit card number- a fraudulent charge was made and reversed by the CC company. I only used that card once at check in thus that was the only place it could have been copied. Otherwise place is great.

we stayed in a two-bedroom apt that was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. I've been going to Harbour Island for almost 40 years and for me the best part about Valentine's (not including the marina) is the fact that they have clean water. No odor, not hard - but clean, potable water.

We stayed for 4 nights from July 20-24. The staff was wonderful, especially Jada! There were a few things that bothered me about our stay. The pool is small, which we expected. No big deal since the beaches are beautiful. However, you actually have to go to the front desk in the main office to check out towels for the pools. Seriously? We came from Atlantis where they have signs posted indicating \"you are on vacation-don't worry about returning your towels\". If I am paying $700 a night, I don't want to have to walk to separate building to check out and return towels. Same policy with the room keys. I was charged a deposit for the room keys which was suppose to be refunded if and when I returned the keys. I returned our four keys, but the charge was never reversed. I don't think even the cheap, budget motels keep track of room keys like Valentine's does. One day all four of our room keys stopped working. Again, we had to trek back and forth to the office to get new room keys. To top things off, our unit was overrun with ants. Ants in the bathroom, ants on our nightstand, ants in the kitchen. I brought it up twice-once with the front desk and once with housekeeping but nothing was ever done. Unfortunately, our youngest insisted on sleeping in bed with us after finding ants in his bed, so we really didn't need a 2 bedroom unit after all. This property's only saving grace is its wonderful staff. They were so welcoming and friendly. We loved Harbour Island, however we won't return

We arrived at noon and asked for early check in. They said the room won't be free until 3 and to just leave all our bags in the lobby and they would watch them and then put them into our room. We got back to the lobby at 4 and all our stuff was still in the corner of the lobby. They didn't seem very secure. We then went to our room on the first floor and it didn't seem very clean. We had to call engineering right away because the tub water wasn't hot.

Great! The pictures do not do the place justice! Rooms are big and spacious! Great tube! Location is walking distance to everything, including the dock you arrive from. Restaurant was just ok but plenty of other options around. Only thing I would recommend is having service at beach side. Sometimes there weren’t even towels. And one time they forgot to service our room.

Nice clean resort. Location was great. Rented a golf cart and could travel the entire town. Beach was on the other side of the island. Had chairs, umbrella and towels for guest. Pink sand beach was beautiful!! Nice bar & restaurant overlooking the water. Rolando, the bartender was great!!! Housekeeping did a nice job as well!! Only drawback was our room didn't really have a view of the water. But overall had a very nice experience!

This is a cool place right on the dock of a very upscale marina. You have to take a water taxi to access this hotel but they run every 15 minutes. The bar in the hotel is right on the dock. This is a lively place. The staff is very helpful. You can walk to the beach side of the island or rent a golf cart. The pool at the hotel is very nice too!

We have ended up at this resort last minute twice (from delayed flights). We absolutely love it!! It is so clean and beautiful. The food is great and so is the staff! They have all you need, soap, coffee, kitchen utensils, etc. The bed is so comfortable and they have very fast wifi.

Room was well appointed, especially for a boater, with toothpaste and toothbrush and almost a full kitchen. Bathrobes were well worn but clean. Room was roomy and dated but again, clean and nice. Had great massages nearby, good food in the bar - they even cooked our catch without batting an eye.

Valentines is located on the harbor side of Harbor Island and is about a 10 minute walk to the pink sand beach where most of the restaurants are located. The rooms were clean, beautiful and well appointed and the staff was happy, friendly and very accommodating. My husband and I were there for two nights at the beginning of our Eleutheran adventure and enjoyed our stay while were there. While we were only on HI for a short time, we found it a lovely but VERY expensive place to be. The Rooster Tail bar/restaurant has a beautiful view, is a great place to watch the sunset, but food was average as compared to the restaurants on the beach side of the island. We really were not there long enough to discover many local spots, except a restaurant by the main dock where the freight comes in called 'The Shack'. Right beside it on the water is a little pop-up tiki where Marcus will make you a delicious conch salad right before your eyes. Runaway Hill is a restaurant on the beach side - best meal we have had in years...worth every penny. The coffee shop on the hotel grounds is a great place to grab a quick and not terribly expensive breakfast and coffee ... the bread is fantastic. We rented paddle boards and spent a lovely afternoon in the water exploring - highly recommend it. The rental place is right next to the restaurant. Getting there is easy too, as the water taxi will drop you off right at their dock. Charming place.

Service in the Bahamas simply doesnt exist the way it does in the States, but they sometimes try. For example, we asked 3 times for a rollaway, and it was as if we were asking them to split an atom.
Also, if you ask for any custom order (like cream instead of milk), make sure you follow them all the way into the kitchen so they follow through...
Place was in a beautiful location and the upgrade to the hotel was very nice.
Need more food options, fried fish for $20 every night gets old.
Housekeeping king off happens over the course of the day. starts around 10 and they finish around 4.
Valentines is very much setup for boaters.
Maybe the hotel can offer directions to the beach

Great Property, with one main caveat

Loved the property, the staff, food and beverage was surprisingly good. Great location on the island. Lots of activities. Decent pool.
But unless your are going to \"get away from it all\", the complete lack of any \"consistent\" wifi may make you reconsider staying here.
Had a 1 bdrm apartment, and if you were sitting on the couch in the living room, you might get wifi good enough for a short period of time. Even walking upstairs or on the balcony rendered your device useless or on extremely expensive cell roaming. It took almost 26 hours and 3 attempts to simply download an audible book as an example. Like I said, if you are going to \"unplug\", it's a great property, but if you have to stay connected for professional or personal reasons, you will be very frustrated.

We stayed at this property in early January 2018 and were quite satisfied with our visit. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The property has its own dock, so the transport boat picks up and drops off yards away from the hotel lobby. The restaurant and bar area has a good vibe, which leads to a comfortable setting for a late night drink.

The only negative is that none of the rooms have a great views of the water (the pink sand beaches are on the other side of the island, which is a 5-10 minute golf cart drive away). Would also suggest the staff be more vocal on how the property has it's own section of the pink sand beaches reserved for the hotel guests. We luckily stumbled upon this area on our own.

Overall, it was a very nice property and that lead to an enjoyable stay on Harbor Island.
