Perfect place to stay.

We were made to feel very welcome and treated as special throughout. There was a fridge with fresh milk to use with the tea/coffee making facilities. Beautiful views. Lovely garden. Very good room with comfy bed. Excellent choice for breakfast, including home-made bread, scones, and jam. cooked to order. Good parking. Very good location for touring the area and short drive into town with free car parking. Highly recommended.

The proprietors were lovely. The place was stunning, with a great view of the mountains from the patio of the loft. The loft had everything one could need if they wanted to cook simple meals there, or make breakfasts (dishes, small fridge and freezer, oven, pans, stove ECT).

We received a very warm welcome from the owners on arrival. Our room was spacious, warm and well appointed. Plenty of hot water and clean white towels for our en-suite bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities included in our room. We enjoyed sitting in the sun room in the evenings with views of the garden and mountain.
Forest trails are walkable from the house. A car is needed if touring mountains of Mourne or further afield. A lovely week in February.

Patricia and John were wonderful gracious hosts. breakfast was delicious with the added bonus of freshly baked brownies, break rolls each morning, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice. the property was perfectly located literally at the base of the Mourne Mountains. perfect for hiking right from the property. the room had the most picturesque view of their flowering garden and mountain. its a 3 minute drive to shops, restaurants, the beach, and a 8 minute drive to the dunes. perfect location. we loved staying here and would stay again if we found our way back to Newcastle.

Patricia & John are warm & very friendly hosts. I stayed as I had a funeral in the area for 2 nights. Patricia went above and beyond to help me with very early wake up calls & the breakfast I had was genuinely superb. If I come back I would definitely stay there again. The room was lovely and had an amazing view of the mountains of Mourne. If only they could have sorted the weather!

Amazing stay in the Loft.

An excellent stay at Cherry Hill lodge in their studio. A warm welcome with some scones and a piece of lemon drizzle cake.
The place is warm and cozy with a fantastic view of the Mournes. We will be back!

The best accommodation of our whole trip, just outstanding!!!

Beautiful setting, comfortable/clean room, great breakfast, fantastic hosts. The garden out back was super, we were in the garden room and the view was just superb, as was the view from the breakfast room and I'm sure probably the other guest rooms as well. The owners were so nice made our stay extra special.

The property is about a mile from town but we enjoy walking so this was no problem for us

Cherryhill lodge newcastle.

Cherryhill is excellent, very clean and cosy. Great views of mountains, about 20-25 minute walk to town, but you can cut through tipperary lane thats a nice walk. Breakfast was brilliant nice rooms and very comfy beds.

Relaxing hideaway

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've visited Cherryhill Lodge and I hope to keep returning. At the foothills of the mournes and overlooking the forest, you will feel instantly relaxed as you arrive. Patricia and John are wonderful hosts, the gardens are beautiful and everything is modern and pristine.

From the second we arrived, we were made to feel so very welcome. The house and loft we’re beautiful, made even better by Patricia and John, who are wonderful people. As the other reviews have mentioned, the homemade breakfast was amazing, and I loved the homemade scones... perfect! The first day we arrived it was raining, but in the backdrop from our decking area, we could make out the panoramic views of the mountains and as the sky cleared, the view was beautiful. I highly recommend staying here and I hope to be back again as soon as possible.

The views to the rear of the property were amazing.The property itself is in a very clean condition. The gardens are well tended and a joy to walk in. The proprietors are very professional in the way they deal with guests, i.e. very friendly and helpful in all matters. NOTHING is too much for them to help their guests in all matters. The food is of excellent quality, well cooked and presented and a very varied menu is presented. this BB made my weekend a most enjoyable one.

I loved this hotel and would stay again. The gentleman and lady who own it are so lovely and are very catering, they made us breakfast every morning and even took us into town one day to avoid us getting a taxi. The hotel is very clean, we stayed in the garden room and it has a lovely view. Also had nice touches in the room such as cake to eat with tea/coffee, decent shampoo and conditioner, shower was nice and powerful and also a good hair dryer unlike the little ones you usually get that takes ages to dry your hair.

So special!

Really couldn't have been better. Arrived late, in the dark, in a huge storm but Patricia could not have been a more welcoming host. Lovely, contemporary but warm surroundings and I settled into the Garden Room which came complete with the added bonus of homemade cupcakes. In the morning I opened my blind onto the most glorious view. Breakfast was offered as early as I needed and this was delivered by John (I'm guessing made by Patricia!) who made time to explain the history of the place; freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and yogurt, Eggs Benedict on soda bread, home made scone and soda bread roll with jam and marmalade, toast and tea. If only I could have stayed longer! Patricia directed me to the sea front so I could make a quick trip on my way to work and I said goodbye with a heavy heart. Planning to go back on my hols so I can share this special place with my other half. In the meantime, thanks so much!

Absolutely Beautiful!

We stayed here our first night after flying into Dublin. John welcomed us and made us feel at home. A new TV had just been installed in The Loft, and John made certain to set it up so that we could watch the Euro Cup. The Loft was spacious and comfortable, and the scenery was lush and just as one would imagine! Patricia helped us plan out our route for the next day, and in the morning she made us a fabulous breakfast. As it's just a few minutes from Tollymore Forest Park, there are hiking and biking trails nearby, and we wished we could have stayed longer than our one night. Don't pass up booking this gem!

A lucky find.

Came into town without a reservation and we're lucky to get the last room here. It's a little out of town but only a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to all the action. Beautiful new facility with charming hosts. We got the loft which is just a large room but well laid out and well stocked. Not a single complaint.

Hidden Gem in Northern Ireland

Patricia is a wonderful hostess. She was soo accommodating in so many ways . She made dinner reservations for us after we arrived. Breakfast was accommodating to my food allergies and was of chef quality! Great bedding & towels . On top of all that , I left my iPad behind and she contacted me immediately & sent it by priority mail to me! The only thing I would recommend , is better marked directions ( maybe signage?) it's hidden away style is part of its charm but it was the hardest of all our accommodations to find. ( due in part to a broken off street sign )

We have never stayed in a B&B before but having seen the reviews for Cherryhill Lodge we thought we'd give it try. What can I say, it was amazing from start to finish. The hosts were lovely and would do anything for you to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The bedroom was beautiful, the view from the sunroom was stunning! Breakfast was the highlight of the stay, food was amazing especially the homemade granola, highly recommend!! Will defintely be back!! Thank you, your home is beautiful!

The accommodation is purpose built and the rooms have fabulous views over the garden and mountains. Patricia and John are the most welcoming hosts going above and beyond to make their guests stay as pleasurable as possible. You can even sit and chill out in the sun room with a glass of wine whilst admiring the view. The breakfast menu is amazing (don't miss out on Patricia's homemade granola). We had a wonderful time just wish we could have stayed longer.

Superb outdoor holiday location

On rather late arrival at the hotel we were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were kindly provided (at no extra cost) to a delightful ploughman's type cheese supper with of course limitless tea and coffee. The surrounding countryside was wonderful as was the outlying area including the quaint seaside town of Newcastle Co Down. We went for a family wedding but were so impressed we will think about going in the Summer for a week.

Do not miss this wonderful oasis!

This is an updated B&B with updated rooms / showers. The drive into Newcastle is short and easy to manage to golf or beach. They have built a little slice of heaven - beautifully manicured lawns and garden. Our view was the majestic mountains and valleys! Breathtaking. They grow several fruits and vegetables which are used in the wonderful breakfast. There are only three rooms which makes it nice and homey! Such a sweet family.
