Bathroom and shower are dirty on both side female and male bathrooms, bedroom shaking squaeking sound need to be fix to not much sound from other rooms people making love, filters in bedroom art dusty on the top from cold air coming through the bedroom so cold,staff who are cleaning taken long hours to clean a room talking phone for long hours, strong smell in hallway,no warm water in bedroom, if 2 staff work the from desk than both can switch side clean female locker room and an man bathroom, the toliet doesn't flush standing up peeing it big strong smell in those if doesn't work they need add a sign say don't work, when I was crossing over from people cleaning they have many bag on one side it hard get around the area so I don't fall, walls isn't sound proof, they need replace air filter to air condition unit and clean room where dust coming from the room so it not so cold and smell dust from unit, I throw my trash away from my room no one said room service, and one more thing there was no pillow cover for the pillow I was using as well. Thanks for having me hope they fix this issues.

The smallest rooms only has public toilets/showers despite listing Restroom on the booking. App nfc keys do not work well. Vending machine says majority is empty despite having items visible. Parking options far away. But café next door has great breakfast.

We didn't realize that this hotel is right next to a night club, and the walls are NOT soundproof. (despite the info on Expedia) We heard everything from the dance music pounding until 4 AM to the extremely drunk guy that kept trying to get into our room after the club closed. He then proceeded to vomit right outside of our room, then he passed out on the floor next to our door and snored so loudly that we couldn't sleep even after the music had stopped. Again, the rooms are NOT soundproof. It was an awful night, we didn't sleep at all, and it ruined our homecoming with friends later that day because we were utterly exhausted. Also, there was no staff to help or monitor the drunk man outside of our room, and this didn't feel safe. Overall, I liked the concept of the Boxhotel. But this one is situated next to a noisy club, and the staff weren't around to help us. We won't be staying at this hotel again.

You get even less than you pay for.

Well that wasn’t very nice.
I found three different types of hair in the room, none of them mine.
The sink leaked and there was only cold water from the tap.
The mattress wasn’t only tiny but also sloped off towards the edge, making it very uncomfortable.
The carpet was partly disintegrating and overall filthy.
As the walls are plaster board, you literally hear everything. Some of the guests didn’t seem to care at all and made noise till past midnight.

Needless to say I won’t be coming back.

Overall great stay. Coffee was surprisingly good. Location and price were great. Rooms were unique. Storage in room was limited and it felt rather warm as there is no thermostat to set. Really like the idea of an app based hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Too hot to sleep.

Advertised with air conditioning. But you have no control over temps in your room. It’s controlled centrally.

So I didn’t sleep till temps went down outside (and then Inside the hotel) at 3 am. Not good.

I booked 2 nights. I didn’t stay there the second night.

Parking is paid across the street during the day so that is also not accurate advertising.

Not a bad tiny “box” to sleep in otherwise. Decent beds. Shower in room. Bathroom down the hall. Clean. Kind staff. WiFi ok.

Don’t forget to download the app.

Pretty busy neighborhood. Price was good.

Good, Inexpensive Option Across the University

The place is fine for a couple of nights. The rooms are small, obviously, and they lack their own showers, also obviously. But for the money it's a pretty good deal, especially for solo travelers who are really just looking for a place to sleep for a night or two. As long as you're okay doing your lounging in public, at one of the nearby cafes, it doesn't end up feeling particularly claustrophobic. At least it didn't to me. Also, don't let the \"app based hotel\" thing scare you if you have limited cell phone service. There's easily accessible WiFi at the place, so as soon as you're in range of the door, you're likely also in range of WiFi signal. And you can also make a regular key card once you're there if you don't feel comfortable relying on your phone. Location right next to the university is GREAT for anybody who has business there.

Nice Concept

The idea and concept is a good one with on-line booking but being able to check-in remotely outside normal hotel opening times, especially from late night flights.
Like any pioneering concept there are always a few teething issues. I arrived outside the hotel at 01:30ish and after having accessed my e-Mails on my smartphone to get to the app found I had to download it to my phone in order to proceed further (I didn't have time to do this prior to commencing my trip). Having reactivated the Google Play app I managed to somehow get checked in. Regardless of my ability with apps the process would be a daunting one for someone even less technically versed than I and frankly took nearly 1.25 hours+, not the best in the middle of the night. Having got to the point of getting to the hotel door to unlock it with the download received, it didn't work. Luckily I found another bell (not marked clearly as such) to summon the lady from her slumbers at nearly 03:00 to let me in. She activated a plastic card for that did work much like the other hotels I have stayed in. The room is okay if you need somewhere to sleep/stay for a night or 2 ( I had a shower & basin but toilets are a communal affair). For the price and for what you get it is good as compared to other, similar hotel brands. The price is also competitive compared to others in the area. All in all, for what I got I was happy with party from the key activation and the check-in/download time. Give the hotel a try.

This is a strict budget hotel and everything is minimalistic. It's in great condition though and clean. Lighting is extremely good in the room. Wifi was slow, but at least it was on all the time. Free coffee at the entrance 24/7. Really it's priced like a hostel, but you have a small private room, so certainly excellent value for money.

great affordable no frills option

This is a great no frills option near the university. Up from a hostel and affordable. Great service and accommodating staff. I stayed for 2 days and then return for 2 more days the week after.
If you need a place to sleep and drop your bag, this is it.

My daughter and I stayed here on our trip through Germany. Staff was on the premises b/c they are new and trying to help people figure out how this concept works. This was a good thing b/c I had made the reservation on - route and then lost as data/ wifi connection until after we arrived. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the uniqueness of this business venture and were only looking for a place to sleep along the road, so it was great for us. Very clean and comfortable beds. Also within close walking distance of city market. Think hostel -type lodging - not for those looking for full - service hotel. We had a great experience there.

Es war sehr kalt im Zimmer. Im Winter ist es nicht so optimal. Das kalte Wasser war durch die Kälte noch unangenehmer. Ich habe mich mit dickem Pulli und dickem Schal im Zimmer aufgehalten. Im Sommer war es dort immer okay und völlig ausreichend. Im Winter sollten Menschen die schnell frieren lieber etwas mehr ausgeben und ein Zimmer mit eigener Dusche und Warmwasser buchen.

Wirklich nur was zum Übernachten für eine Nacht, zum Urlaubverbringen nicht geeignet. Auch wenn es \"Box-Hotel\" heißt, ist die Deckenhöhe normal. Zimmer so lang wie das Bett + Waschtisch + 2 Kleiderhaken, fertig! Wandfarbe in motivierendem Dunkelgrau gehalten. Hotelpreis natürlich unschlagbar, für das Geld bekommt man nicht mal ein Bett im 30er-Schlafsaal.

Super laute Umgebung. Disco direkt nebenan. Es war nicht möglich dort aufgrund der Lautstärke zu schlafen. Außerdem funktionierte in dem super kleinem Zimmer ohne Fenster die Lüftungsanlage nicht, sodass in der Nacht die Tür immer wieder zum lüften geöffnet werden musste, um die extrem stickige Luft gegen stickige Luft im Flur tauschen zu können. Wir werden hier nie wieder übernachten. Die Zimmergröße und Service sind nicht das Problem. Dessen waren wir uns vor Anreise bewusst.

The hostel is located right in between two clubs, so staying there on weekends or any day on which the clubs are open is not recommended at all. You may be able to cancel the noise with earplugs but the bass will remain. I couldn't sleep and left the hostel in the middle of the night to stay in a proper hotel with quiet rooms. The staff at the hostel couldn't help and I haven't received an answer since my stay - I guess they won't get back to me for any compensation. Very bad experience and my first time ever ever that I left an accommodation early. Also, the rooms are small and heat up easily without any proper ventilation plus the doors let light shine through. Definitely not recommended! In the end I'm just wondering... Who in their right mind would put a hostel between two clubs!?

Es ist ein kleines, kühles Zimmer mit einem Bett, zwei Kleiderhaken, einem Waschbecken mit ausschließlich kaltem Wasser und Handtüchern. Für eine Nacht absolut in Ordnung, man sollte sich bewusst sein, dass auf beiden Seiten der Unterkunft Clubs gelegen sind. Als ich da war, hatten diese geschlossen, sodass ich die Lautstärke nicht bewerten kann. Ansonsten ist es generell sehr hellhörig, die Türen der anderen Zimmer hört man. Es gibt nur eine Gemeinschafsdusche ohne Kabinen. Allerdings gibt es einen Wasserspender und eine Kaffeemaschine (1€/Getränk und morgens mit Chip vom Personal eines Gratis), und unweit des Hostels zwei Frühstücksmöglichkeiten.

Einchecken hat super geklappt und alles war sauber und die Betten bequem. Es war sehr hellhörig aber es wurden kostenlose Einweg-Ohrstöpsel angeboten. Für eine Nacht ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis unschlagbar.

Das Zimmer ist praktisch und zweckmäßig geschnitten. Es ist sehr gut bedacht.

Die Toiletten könnten stärker beleuchtet sein, es ist etwas dunkel.
Die Türen ziehen sich von selbst zu und knallen dabei leider laut. Das war gerade morgens störend. Aber es gibt gratis Oropax ;)

Toll, das man jeden Morgen einen Kaffe aufs Haus bekommt.

Einige Infos auf der Internetseite stimmen nicht. Man benötigt nicht die App zum Türen öffnen, man bekommt eine Karte. Im Toilettenbereich gibt es Föhne (da hätten wir unseren nicht mit nehmen brauchen). Vom gratis Kaffe steht glaube ich auch nichts auf der Seite.

Uns hat es Spaß gemacht!

Ich werde das Boxhotel ganz sicher nochmal nutzen!

Das Personal warsuper nett und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war sauber, das Bett fest, ich habe super darin geschlafen. Leider hatte ich nur kaltes Wasser im Zimmer und die Steckdose am Bett war nicht befestigt. Toilette und Dusche waren sauber. Leider war es sehr kalt in der Dusche.
Ich würde das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen und auch weiter empfehlen.

Zu beiden Seiten des Hotels ist ein Club, auch mit Ohrenstöpseln hört man den Bass und kann nicht schlafen. Dazu ist die Kabine auch noch sehr dreckig.

Ich fand es angenehm sauber, nicht zu warm,. Etwas wenig Platz und Stauraum. Duschen war wegen der Statur nicht möglich. Duschen zu eng.
Von der Lautstärke der Umgebung bekommt man wenig mit.
Man hört nur den Bass der Diskothek Alpenmax.

Für Leute die Feiern wollen ist das Boxhotel gut gelegen zwischen 2 Discotheken und guter Busverbindung in die Stadt rein .

Für den Preis angemessene Unterkunft. Nicht für lange Aufenthalte gedacht. Dann lieber mehr Geld in ein etwas teureres Hotel investieren. Mitarbeiter stets im Mindesten freundlich und hilfsbereit bei jedem Anliegen. Etagenbettenzimmer Dusche oben neben dem Bett direkt.Zu wenig Licht im Zimmer. Alternative Duschen zu wenige vorhanden und Mängel an Sauberkeit. Gute Anbindung an benachbarte Discos und Innenstadt bzw Bahnhof fußläufig erreichbar. Cooperation mit Cafébarlounge sehr zu empfehlen!

Was das Verhältnis Preis / Leistung an geht, eine klare 5 von 5. Allerdings gibt es Probleme mit der Lautstärke. Von den Veranstaltungsstätten links und rechts habe ich IN der Woche nicht viel gehört (nach einem Konzert ist diese Unterkunft bestimmt super durch die Nähe). Jedoch scheppern die Flurtüren - weil es andere Gäste schlichtweg nicht interessiert, ob sie andere stören. Genauso sieht es dann in den sanitären Anlagen aus, da kann der Betreiber nun nicht zwingend etwas dafür. Ich bin dem Reinigungsdienst morges begegnet und das Bad strahlte.
Dann fand ich eine abgelegene ruhige einladende Toilette.... die Tür verklemmte sich und ich kam alleine nicht mehr heraus. Hier ist die Hellhörigkeit der Unterkunft ein Vorteil fewesen. Letztendlich kam der Haustechniker und trat die Tür ein. Daher bekommt der Service volle 5/5 - super Typ !

The room wasn't cleaned regularly, despite that I asked one time for service to organize it. I putted the paper outside of the door when I lived the hotel, just for cleaning my room, but unfortunately it didn't work.
So it will be wonderful if clean service regularly check the room.

Es hat genau seinen Zweck erfüllt..für diesen Preis absolut ok ....man ist vorab über Größe und Ausstattung informiert
Wenn man weiß, dass der Parkpkatz direkt gegenüber der Straße liegt gut zu erreichen.

Disappointed.

Disappointed! Had singel room. Only cold water in the room, not even hot water in the toiletsink. Shared shower with very high water pressure where you must undress/dress in the shared pissoar (!). Quite hot in the room with quite bad air. Was also disturbed by noise from the nearby disco during the night. The app did not work, fortunately saved by the reseptionist who gave me a key card. I will probably not use the Box hotel again.

Insgesamt war es für den Preis gut.
Was mich nur wirklich gestört hat, ist dass es im zwei-Bett Zimmer leider keine Steckdose beim unteren Bett gibt.
Nachts war Bass vom nahen Club zu hören, ich war allerdings durch die anderen Bewertungen darauf vorbereitet und hatte Ohropax dabei.
