Nove but too expensive for what is offered

Nice hotel with good service, but too expensive for what it is. Nicely decorated room, but we had a window facing the street, bathroom and shower are very small for this category, no air conditioning, no swimming pool so in my view not a five star hotel as advertised. Also be careful of the hidden costs, we were charged € 20 extra for our dog - I always wonder what for, do they not clean the room if you don’t have a dog? Also breakfast (which was arguably good) is a hefty € 29 per person, so in the end our room went from € 209 to more than € 280. All in all a nice hotel but too expensive for what it is.

Great hotel, lovely details and friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great breakfast. The only downside was the very soft mattress, and in my view breakfast should be included in the room rate as in most other hotels.
Overall fantastic hotel though and i would come back again, but please change the mattresses...

The staff was great. The room was very pretty and exactly as pictured online. The food was excellent. But, it was really hot! There is no air conditioning and the room was uncomfortable because of it. We asked for a fan, but did not receive one. Our glass door was adjacent to a common veranda so we could not have the door open more that a crack at the top at night. We opened the window at the top (the only option besides opening the glass door) but we had to have the drapes closed because there was a light right outside our room and there would have been absolutely no privacy. There was no air flow. It was so hard to sleep.

Spændende herregård med en virkelig god restaurant (altså ikke traditionel tysk mad). Rent, pænt, super hyggeligt og meget venligt personale. OBS: Der er trapper, skrå vægge og brusekabinen er ikke for ældre. Borghotellet ligger i forbindelse med en større herregård med mulighed for gåture.

Perfekt, välskött, bättre hotell på landet. Restaurangen var otroligt bra (både mat och vinlista) och personalen var vänlig personlig och kunnig. Pratade inte engelska när vi försökte med tyska, men översatte gärna ord vid behov. Stilpoäng! Fina marker att promenera i efter en dag på motorvägen.

This hotel have really had its golden days. You can see that. Its still a beautiful place but would need a little touch up here and there. The restaurant for our dinner was great and so our server. We did sleep really well and breakfast was good with a great mix of things. I would stay here again.

Wir haben Silvester in diesem Hotel verbracht und sind extrem positiv überrascht worden. Das Hotel selbst ist äußerst charmant und liegt am Fuße einer alten Burgruine. Bei Ankunft sind wir (vor allem unsere Hündin) überaus herzlich Empfang worden, man hat uns mit unserem Gepäck geholfen und hat uns alle nötigen Informationen für unseren Aufenthalt mitgeteilt. Am Abend des 30.12 gab es gleich einen Aperitif im Empfang, mit anschließendem Abendessen. Dort präsentierten die Restaurants der FREIgeist-Gruppe viele leckere Köstlichkeiten. Besonders hat uns gefallen, dass unsere Hündin uns ins Restaurant begleiten durfte. Auch am nächsten Tag war das Frühstück sehr gut. Am Abend gab es ein mehrtägiges Menü, welches einfach unglaublich lecker war. Hochwertiges Zutaten, Fleisch aus dem eigenen Forst und schmackhafte Weine, machten das Silvester-Fest einzigartig. Besonders möchte ich das zahlreiche, extrem gut ausgebildete und herzliche Personal hervorheben, welches den Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz besonderen gemacht hat. Wir haben uns jederzeit sehr willkommen gefühlt und kommen definitiv wieder.

Perfekt med hundar.

Varm anbefaling

Hotellet ligger smukt og med udsigt til den gamle borgruin, man som gæst kan få nøglen til og gå på opdagelse i. Det var en god oplevelse. Middag på Novalis var intet mindre end fantastisk og morgenmaden udsøgt. Personalet var søde og venlige. Eneste malurt i bægeret var at dobbeltsengen var todelt og kunne være mere komfortabel. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen.

En perle der ligger tæt på motorvejen lige nord for Kassel. Vi havde blot en enkelt overnatning men regner med vi også vil overnatte på hjemturen. Meget smukt beliggende - vi gik en dejlig tur og på hjemrejsen vil vi nå en runde golf. Middagen var meget lækker og de lokale vine forbløffende gode.

Fint hotel og super venlige og imødekommende personaler. Lækker beliggenhed lige nedenfor borgen, hvor man kan låne nøgle på hotellet til at komme indenfor - bør udnyttes.
Hotellet er 5 stjernet, men det lever det ikke helt op til efter vores mening, og vi har prøvet lidt forskelligt.
Vi ved at coronaen sætter sine begrænsninger.

Good hotel

Lovely hotel to spend the night on the way to or from the south. It almost seems like a time pocket. Very hospitable staff, we were allowed to lend the key to the nearby castle ruin, a wonderful experience. Good restaurant.
