Fairways is a small, quaint, traditional B&B perched on the top of a hill on the edge of Tobermory. I believe it's five units that are part of the owners' residence. This is probably one of the nicest, quietest, and loveliest places you can stay on Mull, with nice hosts. A top-notch B&B experience. The rooms were excellent, reasonably spacious, very comfortable, and nicely appointed. Best of all, they boasted incredible views out over a manicured golf course and the harbor. I would have expected to pay more just for those views! I was impressed with the full cooked-to-order hot breakfast, which you have to request the night before. (Unfortunately, we forgot to, but that's our fault. As a vegan, I didn't see any real options, but I also didn't ask!) There's no real common area that you can use outside your room. It's also a fair walk to town (I walked around the golf course instead). But I'm nitpicking here! Overall, we were very happy at Fairways and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at Fairways but it was very overpriced for the accommodation. We could hear other guests during the night walking on creaky floorboards above us.

Fantastic location with great views, staff were very friendly and breakfast was really good. Our main issue was with the room,(room 2) we booked a double room but it was very small and the bed was not a double bed, it was a 3/4. We struggled to both fit in. So was not comfortable to sleep, without hanging over the edge.

The room we were allocated was described as a double room - there is no way that this room is big enough to be a double. The small bed just about fit in the room and is not big enough for 2 people to sleep in.
Despite there being plenty of space in the main breakfast room (even taking into account covid restrictions) we were pushed in to the freezing cold conservatory - the lady serving us said as she took us out there 'oh I better put the heater on'.
You have to order your breakfast before 9pm the day before - our 2nd night we didn't get back from our outings until around 9:30 so didn't get breakfast the next morning. That said, the first breakfast my friend had ordered blueberries with yogurt - the blueberries had not been washed and many of them were soft, going mouldy.
We raised our concern about the room to Andrew (the owner) who was very dismissive and didn't even apologise, it really put a dampener on our stay on this beautiful island

I was visiting Tobermory to attend a family wedding. Due to covid it had been cancelled a couple of times. So I was looking for accomodation just a couple of weeks before. There was nothing available but I kept checking when room 5 at Fairways Lodge became avaliable. I instantly booked having read some positive reviews.
On arrival I was met by Andrew, a very easy going man who showed me to my room. He showed me the view from my room and said \"probably the best view in Scotland\" I was amazed and for the 2 days I stayed I saw it in its many changes....early morning Sunshine lighting up the room. A bit misty with clouds on top of the nearby hills/mountains across the sound of Mull.
The room is very clean and tidy and the en-suite was well appointed with quality fittings and a hot powerful shower.
It was a twin room and Im a bit large for a single bed, but slept perfectly comfortable.
Breakfast was very tasty, I booked the time and what I would like the night b4. I arrived for breakfast and they had laid a table next to the window for me.....there was that view again but slightly different angle looking across the golf course to the sun glistening on the water. This hotel is all about the view.
Andrew showed me the quick n easy route down to the harbour and tips about the local taxis to bring me home. On day of the wedding I played the golf course before getting changed. Its a hard course for a guest as some holes have blind shots to the green. Had course to myself lots of pics

Our visits got off to a bad start as the host insisted that we wear face masks despite being exempt. Whilst I appreciate this is his home and his rules it should be made clear at time of booking that the property do not recognise government mask wearing exemptions. If I had known this I would not have made the booking. As a result I was left feeling unwelcome. However, the property was very nice and exceptionally clean with a lovely view from the room. The bed was smaller than a standard double, again this should be made clear before booking. The breakfast was excellent.

A luxury retreat on top of the world
We stayed in a family room with a double and single bed. The room and bathroom was spacious. Definitely 4 star hotel standard. Fridge and tea making set. There was a shower over bath. Brand new bathroom refit. The room overlooked the rear courtyard garden. Cosy but no far reaching view. Professional and friendly staff. Thee issues with the room. No headboard on the single bed so child could not sit up and relax in bed watching tv. Small shower head - not unusual. A good quality soft-closing toilet seat would complete the bathroom - not unusual. Over all, a fantastic B&B with a stunning view of the Scottish islands.

This property is absolutely spotless and offers the most gorgeous view from (what I could tell) all the rooms. Simple but tasteful Scottish decor, the bed was comfortable and the dining area for breakfast was lovely, again with a view! The owner gave us some tips for quickly accessing Tobermory Main Street and staff were knowledgeable about the history of the area! When we are back to Tobermory we will stay here without a doubt!

Very warm welcome by our host, showing us to our spotless, large room with an amazing view over the loch. Lovely spacious bathroom. Breakfast in the morning had lots of choice, all the food was delicious, as was the locally sourced haddock and kippers. The host was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed us in the direction of little hidden cafes and sights. It was a short, albeit downhill going, into the centre of Tobermory, and us two 63 and 70 came up the hill in less then 10 minutes, so not too bad! (Is a little rough path in places, and can be a bit muddy, so not done in evening attire) - if not drinking there is free parking in the town. We would highly recommend Fairways for the beautiful, spacious room, delicious breakfasts and the amazing view.

Stunning views. Comfortable room/bed, decent linens, bath towels v small. Small fridge in room useful. Breakfast reasonable, but small plastic catering packs of marmalade- in Scotland! Previous (cheaper)B&B on our trip had copious home made jams etc. Owners/staff provided 'functional service' with little warmth. Didn't feel particularly welcome, altho man did give us some good directions. Greeted with' do you have a mask?' When packing up car to leave, lady ran out to collect room key, thinking we'd forgotten to return it. Handed it to her, however no ' safe trip, enjoy rest of holiday, thanks for your custom', just turned on her heel and walked away. Very odd and left a very poor impression!

Lovely place to stay. One of the most beautiful views. Shame there was not really an outdoor space and sadly the towels were teeny. But a very comfortable bed and great linen.

Nice place but Room 2 is very small
We spent 1 night at Fairways Lodge as part of a motorbike trip around Scotland. Despite the fabulous reviews we were disappointed with our room which was extremely small and the bed was more like a 3/4 single than a double so we did not sleep well at all. It was by far the smallest room of our 12 day trip.
The room photos look like it was previously used as a single and has since been re-configured. There was a mini fridge which was very loud.
Good points:
- The owner was very nice helpful and offered to make breakfast despite us leaving for the early ferry. He also showed us the best way to walk into Tobermoray which is about 10mins dropping down to the harbour
- It was very clean and there are good COVID measures in place
- Fabulous view from the house
- Nice places to eat in the town
I have since found a very similar review about Room 2 so it wasn't just us... By the look of things all of the other rooms are a lot larger, I think we just got the short straw. Hopefully this is not taken as a very negative review and the owner considers Room 2 maybe needs rethinking as clearly the rest of the property is super.

Fabulous Fairways!
I booked room 5 for 4 nights. It is a spacious twin room with fabulous views over the Sound of Mull. I arrived before the official check-in time and the owner very kindly gave me access to the room straight away. The room was very clean. It had a complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate selection, kettle, hairdryer, TV, free wi-fi and a little mini fridge. Housekeeping of rooms during my stay was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, this was absolutely not an issue for me. If you need more tea/coffee/hot chocolate, toilet rolls etc, you just need to let them know and they'll leave the items in a small container outside your bedroom door. Breakfast on my first morning was porridge. It was nice enough but I think it was microwaved and I'm not a fan of microwaved food. For the remainder of my stay I had fresh orange, berries with yogurt, toast and the Full Fairways (a full Scottish). It was all delicious! Fairways is on a hill just above Tobermory. It's a short stroll to the Main Street. If I ever visited Mull again I would definitely stay at the Fairways.

Fantastic views with property overlooking wonderful scenery. Difficult to find using address provided as satnav said we had arrived when about 400 yards from property. However, a quick phone call for directions resolved that issue. Breakfast excellent and room comfortable.

For golfers, Fairways Lodge is right next to Tobermory Golf Club – in fact the amazing view overlooks one of the holes – and while the walk with a pram is a little hilly (be prepared for it on the way back from the harbour and try not to have a large dessert just before attempting!) everything is only a few minutes drive away with lots of free parking options.
Our family room was on the ground floor right at the entrance to the property giving easy access with or without the pram. Room was spacious with a king-size bed that was incredibly comfortable, a good quality travel cot was offered and an additional folding bed was available but not required. Shower and bath are also of good quality and very clean. Mini fridge in room was a welcome feature to keep little one’s milk and emergency snacks cold.
As with all hospitality during COVID-19 everything is a little bit different but hosts made us feel very at ease, all wearing masks, additional PPE when serving breakfast, and there is hand sanitiser at the front door.

Andrew was very welcoming and explained us all the rules about Covid 19. At the moment they do not do housekeeping in the rooms (I assume they will do sometimes for longer stays but we were there only three days) but they leave extra teas/coffees/milk/sugar each day for the tray in the room. Also if you need anything extra, like towels, toilet paper etc, you just need to ask and it is promptly supplied. Room was good size, amazin views, very comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast, again if you want extra butter/toast, just ask. The lodge is just 10 minutes walk to the main street (a few more going back up) but if you want to drive, there is a large car park in the village.
