A lack of aircon during a 30C heatwave meant the room was stiflingly hot all night, with just an electric fan to try and cool things down (unsuccessfully).

PERFECT location for our trip to Manchester. Our only downside was the room with no window was BOILING, and a fan didn’t even touch the heat. Otherwise, so great.

Everything beautiful, the hotel is like an antique beautiful. But.. There was no AC and it was very bad. Without AC it's absurdly hard to sleep and more. There was a fan small one but that didn't help at all.

Hotel is very central, 5-10 mins walk from Piccadilly Station. I have stayed here a couple times for the convenience and price. Its a 'no fuss' hotel - really large with loads of rooms but old. That being said its in absolutely OK condition, facilities all worked, bathroom was clean and modern, bed was clean and comfortable for a 1 night stay. It definitely attracts a younger crowd but was quiet all night (on a Friday). Only minor issue is there's always a line for check-in, despite checking in on line the previous night. Otherwise a perfectly pleasant stay.

This holel is located on the busy road and many people come and go. And it seemed to be a bit not safe. The hotel has a lot of rooms(very big). It takes a while to go back to my room from a lift.

In the city centre, so accessible and walkable to transit , restaurants and a Sainsbury right across the road. Unfortunate there was a heat wave and there was no AC so was uncomfortable trying to get some sleep , older building so you can hear lots of footsteps and talking in the hallway, otherwise its good enough for a one night stay.

The room was immaculate. Hotel is in an ideal location within 10min walking distance of picadilly station and a quick taxi ride to AO Arena. Convenience store across the road and bar on site. Breakfast is available at the property too.
The only thing is if on 6th floor, lift only goes to 5 then there's a staircase which can become tiresome.

Everything with this hotel was great. The staff for one, were absolutely brilliant. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Especially Rodger.
My only negative comment is that the beds weren’t comfortable at all- maybe something that’s just needing upgrading. Overall a great trip and we will stay again.

Receptionist refused to hand over key cards to my 2 daughters even after i checked in online. Made the stay negative from the 1st minute they stepped into the hotel.
When they say they treat everyone as an adult over the age of 15 is a lie. A 17 and 19 year old was not allowed to check in until I sent my photo ID in an email.
Follow up messages to my daughters were about quality of sleep. Very poor due to substandard pillows.

The hotel was very clean and in a great location. There is a good breakfast place right in the hotel. Also there is a pub with pool tables and lots of TV's to watch games. The staircase area is beautiful and worth seeing. Rooms are great for the price in my mind. Had everything any other room does for 2 or 3 times the price. Can be louder at nights as you are in a busy area, but that is expected due to the location being so great.

Stayed in room 114 the noise was horrendous doors slammed every few minutes shouting. Radiator not working but little heater to plug in which didn't make much difference. Rooms in need of a makeover. Security checking room cards with name & room number which made it feel secure till 2am. Braying on our door drunk lad & member of staff. This could of been avoided quick check on computer see what name booked room. Complained on morning after no sleep to be told they had to check as it was number given to them. Like I said 2 second check I'm guessing they do keep hotel guest info on computer. For £175 for the night i 100% would expect a lot more than what we got. We might as well of stayed in a hostel. Breakfast was awful cold not much choice for healthy option apart from an apple or orange. Definitely look elsewhere unless you want party hotel

Super overnight stay at the Brittania, shame I was solo this trip as was welcomed with a upgrade to a fantastic room wasted on me lol, shame about breakfast which I missed as service didn't start until 7.30am my flight was 8.40am, would have got all 5☆ if breakfast started at 6am, big old building lots of character, could do with a bit of tlc, otherwise great stay.

We opted for a small double room with no window at a very very reasonable price. The room was very clean and perfectly adequate for a one night stay. It was noisy though. You could hear people in other rooms and particularly some people who came back at 4.30am and then out loud music on which they left on for the rest of the night.

I needed a room after flght was camcelled and had to find a place in Manchester. One of the cheapest options was here. Look...the bed was clean and comfy and it was OK for my needs but it's not great. The internal room was spartan and decor tired. Felt like people in the corridor talking were in the room...thin walls/door. Constant droning of infrastructure/air con. Vertigo inducing atrium. You get what you pay for.

The only thing i could complain about it the lack of charging ports for your phone. Its not hard to replace 240v sockets for usb sockets at the side of your bed or have a bedside lamp with usb integrated.

where to start: Showerhead detached from the wall and water started streaming down the wall, shower soap dispenser broken, so no shower, bathroom ceiling fan broken and only one thin pillow. Rooms constructed from partition walls with conversations next door clearly audible. English breakfast was either over cooked or re-heated. I won't be back.

Room was ok but very tatty. Only discovered late at night upon returning to room that none of the sockets in room worked. Couldn’t make a hot drink or charge phones. Shower not working - cold water only. Cheap hotel but fundamental stuff (not luxury extras) not working. Reported it to reception in the morning but got the standard ‘we can only apologise sir’ response. Won’t be going back.
