Very quaint hotel, not for someone who wants every modern convenience but a find for those of us looking for a homey feel and ambiance. Raised floor in the bathroom, water pressure took a while to get going, and the parking was a challenge for me but a good night's sleep in an historic venue in downtown White River Junction. The folks at the front desk were very helpful and personable.

The Hotel Coolidge is an old fashioned and cool spot to stay in, surrounded by the charming tiny downtown of White River Junction VT. Perfect location for visiting Dartmouth, seemingly 15 min from everywhere.

If you're passing through and just need to sleep, okay.
While I was only there 1 night, the room made my eyes and nose sting slightly. Yes, the place is historic, but really needs serious maintenance. Someone also tried the door handle in the middle of the night.

It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and indeed is an old building. Despite not having a fitness center or restaurant that is open before 7 am, microwave in the room, or other small amenities, I found this hotel to be quite charming, clean, safe and with very comfortable accommodations. The mattress and pillow were the most comfortable hotel bedding I can ever recall. The closet is large enough to fit a couch or small bed inside. There’s parking outside and a lot across the street as the hotel is located in downtown near the train station and courthouse. I had a great time in the early morning, walking down Main Street window shopping as nothing was yet open. I would choose to stay here again over other modern places nearby, and I highly recommend this hotel.

Check in gentleman was friendly and offered suggestions on places to eat & visit. The hotel is older and could use a little TLC but personally I love the charm and character of older places. The bed definitely needs a new mattress. Complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby, and nice fireplace to sit by and watch TV or have a conversation. There was a Japanese exhibition in their conference room that was quite interesting and informative.

A quaint little place with a couple good restaurants and cute shops on the same block. A very old property, but that adds to the charm. The only issue was that the rooms were VERY hot and it was not easy to cool them down.

We loved the atmosphere and the staff was phenomenal and very helpful. It's definitely dated but that's what we were going for because it's a historic building. Our room was quaint but beautiful. Clean the shower was hot the bed was comfortable and we would definitely stay here again. I have seen some of the reviews about the building being old but that's what you get with a 200-year-old building and that's what we appreciated with our stay.

The room was ROOMY! Very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless. Hotel Coolidge stands apart from other modern motels. But the price is about the same. So I opted for more character -- which The Hotel Coolidge definitely has. The common areas show some signs of age and wear. And the location in downtown White River Junction is not ideal. But I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it. 👍

Staff was very welcoming as was the lobby with the roaring (gas) fire and free coffee 24 hrs. Elevator available and free parking behind the building. Very nicely decorated with actually good artwork, good bed, very clean, breakfast voucher at great little cafe two doors down. Only minor inconvenience- hot water took a long time to get up to the second floor, but it did eventually.

The room was wonderful and the person at the desk was excellent! The hotel was dated but charming. There was no breakfast but a great diner is in West Lebanon. The elevator to our assigned room was broken so they gave us an upgrade to a Junior suite. This entailed me pushing a cart outside in the cold and ice to another building since my partner could not do it and there was no one available to help us. If you are old like we are I would suggest another hotel. However, the proximity to downtown and the theatre was spectacular. Great staff!

The Collige house is a great alternative to a sterile chain hotel. The spacious rooms, bathrooms, hallway and cozy lobby reflect past grandeur. The location in a small indie town is wonderful. Beds are comfortable. If Formica bathroom counters and old furniture in the room do not bother you this is the place to stay.

Very clean room and friendly staff. Nice fireplace in the lobby and vouchers to help pay for breakfast at restaurants next door. That being said we had the two connecting rooms and they were very small and dated. Unfortunately you could also hear the noise from the bar across the street but it got better once they closed (I recommend asking for an interior room) Beds were ok but not great for comfort. Also when we booked we weren’t aware that the Two rooms were connected by the bathroom, which made for an awkward night. Also the only room amenities were a refrigerator in one room and a chair in the other.

Big Mistake. Our cramped, old, dingy smelling rooms looked nothing like the charming pictures posted on their Expedia site. Beds were in separate rooms divided by bathroom;where each bed was, there were individual doors leading out into the hallway with only a doorknob and chain closure at each door;only heat was 1 space heater in 1 room, the only a/c was 1 window unit in 1 room (so of course, whoever attempted to sleep in the room with the heater was roasting while the other room was frigid & vice versa with the air conditioner);no hot water in one & only luke warm water in both of our 2nd floor rooms;1 faucet with constant drip all night;beds were hard & uncomfortable, minimalistic bedding & thin lumpy pillows, all of which smelled like musty cardboard & dirt;window coverings were plastic mini blinds that let in light from the street lights & no sleeping in once the sun was up, plus missing big chunks of the blinds;late night noise from the street & bar below;old minimal furniture, no closet;minimal outlets. We arrived at 11pm, opted not to stay a 2nd night and checked out before check out time the next morning, were told we'd get a call from someone later that day to take care of the 2nd night's stay credit, never did. After calling ourselves, the mananger justified our complaints as it was a historic inn, she did not adjust the charges for the 1 night we stayed and refunded only 1 of our rooms for the 2nd night, even though we were out on time & did not use the rooms.Bad!

A historic hotel for sure, however, we learned the hotel was built in the 1870s and it really did show. The building shows all of its age with sagging floors, leaning staircases, exposed and rusted sprinklers, and countless instances of water damage and cracking from building shifts. The staff was fine and we have no complaints there and the room was clean, but the property is in need of repair and renovation.

In truly haunted fashion, after a loud train horn blared through town, a blood-curdling scream was heard from what sounded like a little girl. Was this part of the paranormal lore or just a mad toddler?
The property is charming, taking you back to the olden days. The staff seemed generally unconcerned with a line of people at the front desk as they did other things before acknowledging or welcoming guests. However, they were friendly and helpful once they were ready to engage.
Breakfast consisted of vouchers for $4.50 to either an Herbalife sales front attached to the hotel with shakes masquerading as healthy or a delightful Turkish restaurant with a mouth watering menu that was somehow only serving drinks and desserts for breakfast or one other diner that didn't open until 9. The voucher idea is nice but a bit impractical for anyone with places to go in the morning.
The rooms and all common spaces were clean and updated in a way that maintained the vintage feel of the hotel.

This is a quality motel right in the heart of downtown. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable but a bit old fashioned. No vent in the bathroom so everything got very wet from the steam. Not as many modern conveniences as you find in other places, but still very charming.

Excellent front office staff. Second floor landing floor was slanted and so was the banister. Cobwebs and spiders on lamps on landings, rust in tubs and sinks, kinda creepy. Had to put a towel at the bottom of the door so people couldn’t see in as my door had a large gap. On third floor there was a staircase that hard trash cans hiding around the corner as if it was storage.

No one cleaned room during our two night stay despite signs in bathroom advising on where to put towels if we wanted clean ones. Overall Clean and nice staff but would not stay here again.

Charming historic hotel with unpretentious comfort

I thoroughly enjoyed the Hotel Coolidge (with 19th century roots) because it is so old-fashioned and quirky. The furnishings were simple—no phone chargers here—but clean and comfortable. The linked room was perfect for me and my teenaged son as they were separate rooms linked by a bathroom.
The hotel is downtown right next door to a delicious Turkish cafe and pastry/breakfast shop. The only potential downside was freight trains running by quite close to the hotel overnight several times, with lots of whistling. I thought it only lended to the ambience but it did wake me up.
I intend to be a frequent visitor to the Coolidge!

This is a very old hotel built in the 1920's that still has some charm, but mostly is in need of some updating.The first thing you notice is the awning over the front door, we were wondering if we wanted to stay here! We walked in the lobby which smelled musty and needs re-decorating. Tom at the front desk was friendly. The room and bathroom were clean, so ok for one night. Overall this seemed too expensive for the condition of the place. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

Nice staff- 130 rooms and most are rented to long term renters perhaps in need of that community resource. All were pleasant but it was an odd mix. Room could have been cleaner(mirror, around sink)
I wanted a walkable place and it was. Train was nice across the street but wouldn’t want to hear that everyday

Hotel Coolidge is trapped in the 1950’s - bathrooms and room decor was very dated and utilitarian (being kind). Hotel has its charm and history, but on-line photos are deceptive. My wife would never have stayed here (I can camp in my car). Staff was super friendly.

Untouched since Coolidge’s time

A one night stay - breaking up the drive from there to here. It served its purpose. Seems like not much has happened here to upgrade or improve since Coolidge’s time. Like the building subsidence, causing the floor to slope 4 inches from one side of the room, to the other. The bathroom door that couldn’t be closed (related to subsidence). The defective TV that - after you turned it on, and waited (as directed on the screen) sounded like a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. The sounds of trains from the junction was quaint, though and didn’t impair sleep too much. If it had been warm outside, the window AC unit would have replicated the train sound all night long. But it wasn’t so we could turn it off right away

The hotel staff are all very very friendly. I like them a lot! The building is an old apartment building, not an excellent property, but pretty well managed.

My suggestion to guest here is to not have breakfast in the downstair smoothie place. The smoothie is made out of some pre-mixed powder and did not strike us to be healthy or tasty. And it is expensive.

I like the Turkish restaurant on the corner - forgot its name - though also pretty expensive. it seems nothing around the area is priced reasonably, the difference is quality.
