I love this place, we have stayed in a few hotels in berg over the years but this one is our fav because its so chill, arty and loving. It feels like youre in a nature reserve at the top of the hill in the greenery. It feels like they really support local artists as the art is amazing and you can also buy in the reception. The food and bar selection is always delicious - wood fire T bones, wood fire prawns etc. We know about this place as our local friends always come here for the Pizzas as a group meet. We prefer the bigger rooms like the loft as its like a home with a kitchen and the ceilings are super high. I would stay here over the Four Seasons for a more local art scene view of Jberg.

Our bed was super comfortable and with a great view including a weaver bird tending to his nest. It's certainly a unique space to experience something authenticly and lesser known about the Joburg Northern suburbs.
It's unfortunate about the typical low water pressure and shower design, which is also way too small. It splashes all over the floor next to your only toilet. A geyser decided to trip just as we were ready to take a shower after a long tiring day and weren't in the mood to wait an hour for hot water. Inconveniently placed light switches, a crucial spotlight flickering and power sockets dating from 1940's without a place to sit down and blow your hair in front of a mirror may all be acceptable by South African standards, but to my Japanese partner unimaginable how that could pass.

The hotel is very comfortable and welcoming, beautifully designed with very stylish and chic surroundings. The views are wonderful, totally unexpected from a city hotel. It's quiet and safe. Explore the whole place, it's built on a hillside with a pool at the bottom and rooms on many levels. Comfy big beds, great art and the food is lovely too. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be there when artworks from a local gallery were being displayed, great idea.

The views on the property are amazing the hospitality is great. You can access Uber from hotel and is very cheap. We went to the city center a couple nights and lots of bars and restaurants. It’s not downtown Johannesburg but the location is close enough to Johannesburg. My one and only complaint was there was no AC in the room however if you ok with leaving the windows open at night the breeze is fine. Room was spacious and clean water bottles provided daily and he breakfast was perfect.

We booked this hotel as a one night stop to recoup before we travelled further up the country to our holiday destination, however we wished we had booked for longer. This hotel is beautiful, with a very friendly atmosphere, the rooms are well furnished and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. The views are extensive and from what we could tell every room benefits from them.
The restaurant was very nice. The food was outstanding we had a pizza cooked in a wood fired oven and fillet steak. Both were cooked beautifully.
All in all a wonderful stay and we hope to visit again.

Pablo house was a gem! We stayed here for the last couple of days of our honeymoon and could not have been happier. The space is comfortable, modern, and beautiful - with views over Johannesburg from the lounge and dining area. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with all the amenities we needed (although having some wall chargers for our phone would be great). We had the room with its own private patio, which we used extensively. Having a large TV with Netflix was a also a plus for downtime. I particularly loved having close access to the pool (which we didn't even know existed before we got there). the staff were all warm, friendly, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. The location in Melville is a plus - there a lot of great bars and restaurants nearby and is a quick Uber ride to other points of interest. The only downside is that the guesthouse is on a very steep hill, hence the great views, which makes it hard to walk to and from places.nearby.

Pablo House was a lovely stay. The space is gorgeous and has an incredible view overlooking the hills of Joburg. The staff was friendly and helpful and made the stay even better. We found it hard to even leave the hotel because it had everything we needed--an amazing view, delicious and reasonable food, and great drinks. If you do leave the hotel, Melville is a really cool area with great food and bars. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody.

I loved everything about Pablo House. I travel a lot for work, and typically stay in hotels. This was an amazing alternative option to a hotel. Leigh, Louis, Jamie Leigh and the entire staff at Pablo House went over and above to make my stay great! The drinks and food at Pablo House were delicious! Every morning I went to breakfast at their restaurant \"Pablo Eggs Go Bar\". They would arrange a ride and give me a voucher for breakfast, and it was one of the best breakfast places I have ever been. I highly recommend staying here, and I will come back again.

We loved this hotel! Wonderful view of the city with little sitting areas outside each room makes you feel like you are sitting in a stylish treehouse! The location was great, very nearby the hip restaurants on Fourth Avenue. The staff was there with a warm welcome for us. The rooms are chic and well equipped, the bed was comfy, everything very clean. We only got to stay one night and regretted it wasn't more.

Amazing stay at Pablo House. The proprietors..Louis, louise and Jamie and sorry? ?, were all wonderful. Anything that we needed were supplied promptly with big smiles from all the staff. It was like we were visiting friends. Very warm place. Nice touch with a fireplace near the bar with comfy couches. They would turn on electric blankets for us at night. The view was phenomenal and we were treated to a 360° view from their roof. Large modern clean rooms . Would definatly recommend this place and will return. Loved our stay. Thankyou! !

This is one of the most amazing places I have experienced! The hotel is absolutely breathtaking! It sits on the hill and the view is amazing... The inside is cozy and just begs you to sit down and breathe! But most amazing part of Pablo House is its staff! Oh my gosh! Jammie and T took great care of me! They were patient and kind. And they made sure, even with my crazy schedule that I got to eat the amazing breakfast from Pablo restaurant. Not to mention, T made me an excellent gin, tonic, passion fruit, and lime! I hope I get to return to Pablo House in the future! But, if I don't I strongly recommend you stay there! P.S. their internet is GREAT! very high speed!

I really enjoyed my stay at Pablo House and would recommend this spot. Comfy bed, beautiful design and spectacular views of Jhb. Friendly owners and staff and great breakfast at the nearby restaurant (you get a voucher for R100pp and transport to and from Pablo Eggs-Go Bar, but you can arrange to have breakfast at Pablo House if you leade). Nice extra touches like the Netflix TV and electric blanket on the bed.
Great access to Melville restaurants and shops, but away from the noise. The wooden floors and close rooms mean you can hear other people moving around and chatting, but a handy pair of earplugs is provided (and a sleep mask), which solves this easily.

Pablo House was phenomenal, as was the staff. The property is very cool, and the views are great. The same owners own a nearby restaurant, so breakfast is provided there...and it's amazingly delicious. Pablo House is a true Johannesburg gem! It has an incredible vibe, beautiful space, and helpful and welcoming staff. My husband and I agree that Pablo House is one of our most favorite hotels/guesthouses we have stayed at in all of our travels. The bar is great, breakfast is delicious, the resident dogs (Harvey and Rocky) make it feel homey, rooms are comfortable, in a safe area, and it’s convenient to the city by Uber. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Gorgeous and funky guest-house in a great location with generous and lovely hosts!! The rooms are really fun, clean, comfortable, modern and have beautiful views. I got great suggestions from the host for things to do in Joburg and Cape Town (my next stop), and even joined them for a pop-up restaurant dinner. Especially since I am traveling on my own it was nice to make fast friends and feel welcome. Highly recommend!

Coolest hotel in Melville!
I’m surprised this place doesn’t have more reviews - my stay was absolutely wonderful. The rooms and the views are both great, for an extremely reasonable price. The guest house is a 15-min walk from the main areas in Melville, with lots of great restaurants and shops. It’s a 5-min walk from a major grocery store and pharmacy. The staff is all very nice and the place has a lot of cool common spaces. Definitely a must-stay!

The hotel is an amazing experience, with views overlooking the Johannesburg vista. I was impressed by their responsiveness and helping to get me set up with some additional items to surprise my fiance for our arrival. The one thing that was a slight gripe for us was the sound of doors opening and closing from other rooms which could get a bit noticeable at night. The hotel is also just a few minutes drive from a great high street with great eateries, bars and shops. This is definitely somewhere I wish to return to for future stays. Our room came with breakfast which was served at possibly one of the most popular brunch spots in town, which is also owned by the hotel. Staff were all friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

The Pablo Guesthouse was nothing shy of absolutely amazing! From the initial call received from Jamie after LaMonica and I arrived to Johannesburg while commuting to the property, we knew instantly that we made the proper choice on where to spend the next few days.
