Hotel is in a good location. Pool was out of action for the 11 nights in which I stayed. Food menu was limited and average. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were large. The hotel is old and it shows. The hotel is good value for money. Shame about the pool being out of action. Wifi is good.

Check in was fine. That evening when i stepped out for some dinner, the door lock bracket was not secure and missing a screw. The maintenace engineer came and tried to fix it but couldn't, so he just jammed a screw there. Then the door was not shut properly, so i had to change rooms. The first room took over 10 mins to get hot water and the a/c remote had dead batteries. My second room was good. No issues with anything, but that first room did not leave a good impression.

Eating and drinking should be restricted to certain areas especially alcoholic drinks as there is a bar.the lifts takes forever and that needs urgent attention

I liked that it was in walking distance from the Park station. I did not enjoy the food and was happy to not have purchased the free breakfast. The room was fine. Disappointed that the balcony was unavailable due to staff unable to locate the key. The views from the room and rooftop were magnificent.

Overall, the hotel is good. I like spacious rooms and the 2 rooms I reserved were very large, felt like a 2 bedroom space. The house keeping is very responds promptly to any request or issue. The front desk is also responsive. However, the kitchen department is inept, get simple order wrong, poor quality, bad attitude, saw a bug in the kitchen as attached photo. Can't take care of simple requests, tosses you around. I only ate once there one time in the 5 days I was there. I ate out in other restaurants. They never had change and kept my money.

The staff was so nice and great to me. The hotel was older and dirty. There were a lot of things they could have done to make it better. My tv wouldn’t cut off I had to unplug it from the wall to get it to go off. The balcony door won’t shut. The couch looked like it was falling apart. The pool chairs were broken. No towels up there. Just a lot of missed things.

Our stay was great, staff were very friendly and of good assistance. Your parking area is too far from the rooms especially when it is loadshedding. The past 2 days of our stay the water in our room was cold and we reported that to the manager during checkout, she apologies and requested us to report any problems as soon as we encounter the problem.

The stay in Anew hotel was amazing and great, we had a joyful, loving and extraordinary stay. The problem was the shower water it was not hot enough to have a warn bath besides that everything was wonderful and 👌. The hotel have an amazing attractive swimming pool 😍.

Dirty old hotel that is in a very unsafe area! It looks like an old student accommodation that was transformed into a hotel. The building is outdated, bathroom is dirty, found marks in the bath tub that resemble dried blood! No international sockets. The swimming pool isn’t safe as it is open to the general public, thus full of youngsters drinking and being loud all day & night! Would NOT RECOMMEND staying there

Amazing and super friendly staff. The lady in the front desk is so nice and also all the guys. They stored my luggage after checking out and were always smiling and kind. Also other staff was super nice and restaurant dinner was great and breakfest even better. One of my top hotel experiences. Rooms were also huge and felt like a big apartment. AC works perfect and fast wifi all over the hotel. Gym is also nice bonus but I wish they would buy more big weights for the muscular men. Neighbourhood is nice with many bars, clubs and friensly people.

I you must be honest, I can't be coming to your hotel and then I must also pay just for parking? Rather inform me that my booking also includes parking fee, that I will understand. So that in future I will plan for it. And the Noise on floor 24 on the 04/11/23 made my stay miserable, what is worse you book me on floor 23 without first explaining to me that I might experience noise due to what was taking place on floor 24, but i made me understand that sometimes ppl just enjoy undermining others. Next time one will think twice before booking with you. And as for those young kids who were all over the place wearing revealing clothing, I and my wife felt as if we were at a brothel of some sorts, plz try to maintain some level of class and decorum, your hotel must be a place of excellence not decayance.

We read a few reviews of this hotel before deciding to stay. The area it is in isn't entirely safe however that suited us as we were there for a few days, had a few excursions planned and it was at the end of our South African holiday and staying in to eat wasn't an issue. In fact the food and service at the hotel was first class. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast had a wonderful range of food and dinner was excellent . The service quality and price couldn't be faulted.

There was music blasting from 8 am to 10 pm. The music could be heard on all floors including the lobby. The management only offered to move me which would do no good since the music was so loud it could be heard on every floor Management refused to have them turned down the music bc they paid for their room (?????) I was so stressed by this that I had to canceled the remaining part of my vacation. I had planned to continue on to Cape Town and then London but had my plans ruined by this hotel and its management

Room-key (mag-stripe type) not working numerous times and pretty annoying having to wait for the elevator to go back down to reception and there wait again to get a new key.
Surprised that Marriott allows this hotel to be part of their brand.

The room are spacious and very clean with a great view and the food is great if you order from the menu. However I noted that the buffet is a bit low quality and the first day I had to ask for soup and the guy I spoke had to shout at someone to find out what soup you had and it had to be collected from a different place-really.

The hotel staff was wonderful! Everyone was so helpful and courteous. The hotel could use an update but all in all it was a good stay. The water was scarce, we checked in around 3pm and had no water until about 9pm. The hotel staff did not mention that so it was a surprise to have absolutely no water. The rooftop views are amazing.

Everything was perfect and fine. On the morning of 9 Aug, we went to take part in a race, since we only had to leave at 11h00 we left our luggage there to come and have a nice shower and breakfast afterwards. When we came back 09h45, all sweaty and tired, our bedding was already take, not an issue, but our towels were gone as well. Needless to say, we were disappointed, I phone the front desk and he phoned back to tell they are going to bring the towels, which never happened. After few minutes we discovered a towel behind the door, where my friend hanged it the previous night, they missed that, so, we both had to shower with the same towel as they never brought us clean ones. That was very sad, because everything was so nice and one thing like that made our stay there from excellent to average. I would think they can clean up the room after we left and needless to say we then were to late for breakfast, because we only go out of the room 10h50 and there was no way the kitchen would serve us breakfast, disappointing, we were so hungry after a long run. The furnishings in the room is very poor, there is a worn out looming lounge chair no side tables or lamps, the lighting from the ceiling is dull, sitting on the lounge chair was very uncomfortable. There is no TV in the bedroom, the maid came in every morning to take all the towels and did not replace the towels until late evening. No wash cloth was provided I had to go out to buy wash cloth. The breakfast and dinner was horrible

OK Hotel - Shame about the Windows!
For those not familiar with Jo'burg this hotel is very central, convenient for the awe-inspiring Contitution Hill, and close to the university - but otherwise in a less desirable part of town. The hotel is OK and the staff are helpfull and cheerful. The rooms are large, and the breakfast is fine. BUT.....every room has old, poorly fitting metal-framed single-glazed windows overlooking the city, which means that the noise from the busy local major roads and roundabout is VERY significant. If you are a light sleeper you need to stay somewher else!

Comfort could have been better. Bed was too hard. Seats in the main room were too low and an not user friendly for watching TV. They also blocked the door to the deck. There should have been a TV in the bedroom. Bedroom lacked seating opportunity. Insufficient number of hangers in the closet. Insuufficient lighting in the main room; specifically to read by.

This is really one of the not-so-old hotels in Johannesburg. Rooms are spacious, however, the furniture in the rooms are dated and a little bit uncomfortable. I would have liked the TV in the bedroom (once again personal choice). The service was great though, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and invitational to their clients. I had the buffet dinner on Friday night and it was very mediocre and to some extent not worth the money asked for. Otherwise, knowing the area, I did not venture out, but stayed in since this was a detoxing weekend for me. I did not want to be around people and shopping centres.

The hotel was fantastic. I'm a regular of the area and was quite surprised to encounter such a luxurious, professional and safe hotel there.
The rooms are spacious and greatly air conditioned which was great for the Joburg heat!
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The restaurant could do with a little bit more variety but the food was great.
