The hotel is situated in a great location and is a great place to access restaurants, shops and most importantly, the tourist attractions. The hotel was clean and the room which I booked, was spacious with a fantastic shower.

Die Zimmer waren auf den ersten Blick schön. Wenn man jedoch längere Zeit darin verbringt kommt man langsam auf die Mangel die bestehen. Die Lüftung im Zimmer scheint nicht zu funktionieren. Die Dusche riecht vor dem benutzen nach Schimmel. Evtl weil die Lüftung nicht funktioniert. Das Bedien-Tableau für die Lüftung lässt sich nicht einstellen (trotz sprachenwechsel) Die Sicherungen zur Beleuchtung bzw Vorhangregelung fliegt immer wieder und der Stromkastendeckel (im Zimmer) ist auch nicht fest und kommt einem entgegen.
Wir mussten leider nachts immer lüften.

Leider ist das Frühstück nun auch nicht so der burner. Es reicht um satt zu werden, jedoch hat mir hier der frischkäse sehr gefehlt. Rundum finde ich das Hotel gut. Jedoch würde es von mir 3 statt 4 Sterne bekommen. Ich habe aufgrund meines Geburtstags eine kleine Packung pasteis de Nata und einen handgeschriebenen Brief bekommen. Das fand ich sehr toll 😊

The staff room and amenities was great. The only problem was breakfast. The breakfast was not at the level of the hotel. Fruits were not fresh, tomatoes were spoiled and overall made you feel that you were eating left over from the day before.

This hotel was close to attractions, metro and buses. It was walkable to shops, restaurants, seaside, etc. the room was clean and the service was great. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was really good for the price and all food were refilled until the end. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel has a great location and very clean rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We are happy that we booked this hotel. The only downside with the hotel room is the flooring in the bathroom. The flooring is marble and is quite slick.

First time in Lisbon and this property excelled in every category. The staff was super helpful, kind, and impressively fluent in English. I don’t recall there being a gym nor pool but walking around the city was the only workout needed. The breakfast was very impressive with many hot and cold options along with an espresso machine. Will stay here again.

My wife and I stayed for two nights ( 6-7th June). The Hotel staff ( daytime & Nightime) were excellent, very helpful, polite and professional. Our room was in perfect condition. The hotel has been upgraded electronically, which is modern bonus, with everything done at a touch of a switch.
We highly reccomend this hotel, a real gem.

American couple, five day stay. Madalena is a 5 star out of 5 star hotel. Centrally located on a quit street. Refrigerator, safe, American movies on several TV channels (Portuguese subtitles), staff spoke good English. Rooms are not big but cozy. We were gone most the day so room size is not an issue. Quit sleeping at night, room was cleaned every day. What more can we say but you get what you pay for. This hotel offers great value if your staying in Lisbon.

I travel quite a lot, both domestic and internationally, and Madalena by The Beautique Hotels is right up at the top, one of the best boutique hotels I have stayed at.

Location is excellent short walking distance to many tourist sites. The hotel is fantastic, very clean, high-end shower amenities, which is a nice touch. The staff is warm, professional, and very helpful with giving us tips for exploring the area. If there is one thing I could speak of, it's the slippery floor in the shower. The polish marble floor can be very slipper when wet. If there is a shower mat, that would be much less of a safety hazard for hotel guests and cleaning staff.

The wife and travelled Europe for 9 weeks and stayed at various hotels and all good.
When we checked into this property the room smelled like cigarette smoke and the power in our room would fail as the breaker would pop and we had to reset it at least 6 times per day. It would be as simple as charging the phone. When I contacted the manager he told me this was normal.

The property is completely rundown. We had two rooms for several nights. One room smelled like smoke and air conditioning wasn’t working. The second room had a toilet that didn’t flush and a shower that didn’t drain. We asked to change rooms on the first night and we were told that none were available.
There was no follow up at any point throughout our stay.
We reached out after we left to share our experience and did not even receive an acknowledgment
The decor is bizarre. The hallways have clear cupboards with replacement sheets and homemade stickers to mark the shelves visible through the glass.

This is a cool and stylish hotel in the perfect location to explore Lisbon. Lots of the sights are within a 10-15 minute walk and it is the same distance to all the nightlife areas. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the rooms are furnished to a high standard. We really enjoyed our stay here and can’t recommend it enough.

Great hotel in a great location. Easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, liberty avenue, commerce square, Alfama, St George’s castle. You name it, it’s within 10 minutes walk!

Comfortable bed, good air conditioning, clean and high quality bedding and room in good condition.

Very friendly and informative staff with great English language skills on the front desk, we arrived late in the evening and they reccomended an excellent local restaurant only 5 minutes walk away which turned out to be one of the best meals we ate during our stay!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Madalena by the Beautique Hotels. Before we even checked in, they were in touch on WhatsApp to see if there was anything they could do to help with our check in experience! Our check in went so smoothly, we were able to get into our room a little early. Every bit of the Costumer Service was wonderful. I have never stayed at a hotel that has been so communicative! It was so reassuring to know they really cared about our stay. I went with some friends so I had my own room which was just wonderful, and the hotel staff also stayed in touch to help our checkout experience go super smoothly. They arranged airport transportation when we left, and every bit of our stay was just wonderful. The location could not have been better- we were steps from multiple cafes, shops, and squares. If I am ever in Lisbon, I will definitely stay there again. In addition, the lobby and hotel decor was just beautiful!

Spontaneous Overnight Trip to Lisbon

Booked this hotel for an overnight trip to Lisbon, while holidaying in the Algarve, due to location to many of the sites in the ‘Old Town District’
We were not disappointed and hotel was very charming and unique in style.
Due to being there for just one night, with intention of really just using hotel to sleep, we booked a standard double room so can only comment on this.
On entering room it had a corridor with desk (handy if on business) with complimentary coffee machine and water.
Bedroom was adequate for our needs and bed comfortable with electric curtains that added to the uniqueness. There was not much of a view in our room with internal views of building but we did not book it for this.
Bathroom was finished in gold fittings with great shower cubicle and quality soap/shampoo…
Breakfast was a buffet style in a very unique dinning area and was standard continental style but also offered omelettes if we wanted as well.
I have travelled all my working and personal life, having opportunity to stay in hotels all over the world so comments below are just meant to be constructive:
Carpet in room although clean had many stains and could do with a deep professional clean.
Light switches in room were all flat and together so unless memorised quickly easy to put on all in middle of night if getting up to toilet😀
Shower cubicle in room bedded to be re-sealed at bottom as water draped out slightly even when door properly closed.

Apart from above would have no problem staying again

I travel a lot (twice a month sometimes) and this is my first real bad experience with a hotel.

The shower has a big gap so there's water everywhere when you shower.
There was a humidity smell in my room as well as bad smell at times coming from the bathroom.
I had to ask for the water and minibar to be refilled multiple times which was not done as advertised.
Curtains were stained and did not close properly, there was always a gap.
There are no mirrors except the one in the bathroom that is only useful for your upper body.
Overused bedsheets as you could see them tearing at certain spots.
No view from the window expect to many other rooms/habitations which means i couldn't open the curtains as everyone would see my every move inside.
No facilities in the hotel whatsoever.
Very normal breakfast for the price paid.

To top it off, i found bugs in the room at multiple occasions. The staff apologized and said they will compensate me for this horrible experience. I was ignored and kept following up until i was told \"we regret to inform you that no further compensation will be provided, as we believe it will not ultimately resolve the situation\" whatever this means and had the audacity to tell me that it was normal to sometimes find bugs in the room... again i travel a LOT and let me tell you it is not normal at all especially when i also found them next to the coffee machine, next to things we consume.. VERY unhygienic and a health hazard.

One of the most unique hotels we have ever stayed. The location is excellent - near 2 main plazas with access to many shops, restaurants, bistros and transportation. A very nice, but inexpensive breakfast buffet where they will fix you a delicious omelet to your own specifications. We had a delightful stay.

The hotel looks very nice with glam decor but was a major miss for us on cleanliness. Our shower door did not seal properly and there would be a pool of water. When we checked in there hallway floor was damp from previous guests. Additionally the electronic curtains were dirty and had stains and pen marks all over them.

Dated, dingy, poor design.

The hotel carpet was quite gross. Had dirt and stains on it. The bedroom I stayed in had no mirror in it at all, there as a window across from the bathroom sink and bedroom had no mirror. When we asked the front desk for any kind of mirror, they said they didn't have one. The towels were super worn and old and kind of grossed me out. The bed was comfortable and location is good. Hotel decor itself was super gaudy/tacky.

The location is good downtown close to the metro. The room was clean and comfortable though the hotel is very basic aside from the room, no bar or comfortable seating in reception. For the cost and average rating my expectation was much higher
