Stayed for one night and wish we would’ve stayed longer. Everything was clean and tidy. Staff members were friendly and talkative.

The history of the whole building was very unique and cute. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant but everything smelled delicious. Would highly recommend staying here we will definitely be back!

I had an excellent stay. I was greeted warmly for check in. I then ate dinner at the restaurant which was good. The server was kind and attentive.
The hotel/room is antiquated (in a good way), but very clean. The bathroom has a remodeled shower and toilet. It has character, unlike a sterile hotel room elsewhere.
The bed was actually incredibly comfortable. Sheets were clean and smelled fresh.

The breakfast is simple, but homey. And I appreciate that.

Definitely seems like a hidden gem in the area.

We were notified the day before our Xmas Eve stay that no staff or other guests would be at the inn. We arrived to dark hallways with stairs and had to search for light switches. The building also housed an empty restaurant and the smell of cooking/heating gas was strong. We contacted the owner who came out and said that he checked and could not find a gas leak. The electrical in the room was not up to code - outlets with no cover and “rigged” TV and AC plug ins. There was mold in the corner by the AC unit. The bathroom was missing a lightbulb above the sink. The box spring was ripped and dirty. I have pictures of everything that I would be happy to share. It was Xmas Eve and we were stuck with no other hotel options nearby. This hotel needs to be inspected by the authorities. I would never stay here again and have never experienced anything like this in all my years of travel. Please feel free to contact me directly. This hotel is unsafe for occupancy.

Stayed here for a night and it was great! My wife and I stayed here while we went to Victory Brewing in Parkesburg. It’s about 5 minutes away. This place is seriously decorated straight out of a Hallmark movie and that’s a compliment. The staff greeted us right away when we got in and everyone was so friendly. When we came back the bar downstairs gave us a drink to bring back to the room. There was breakfast for us in the morning. It was so nice. I would have liked to have stayed longer! We found out later there might be some paranormal activity here too, which could be fun if you’re into that kind of thing. Research it! This place looks great for private events, coming to the restaurant for dinner, drinks, extended stays, or just one night like us! They seem to do it all. I would highly recommend! Such a unique place in the best way.

The people who run this inn are very nice. Our room was on the second floor above the restaurant and it was too noisy to sleep on a Friday night until 11:30pm. It was very quiet after the staff left for the evening. Dinner was very good.

They served the same thing for 2 days. The food did not seem as fresh and the variety was lacking. We had to ask for tea, ask for utensils ask for decaf coffee. These things are standard. The only thing served was bagels and cream cheese. I do not mind paying a premium for breakfast. Show some effort. The staff was very helpful and nice

We spent one night here due to it being located close to a wedding we were attending. The good… Bartender was extremely friendly and helpful, light bites we had were good. The bed was extremely comfortable. Room was clean, although the facility itself could use a good cleaning and sprucing up.

The bad… safety is a high concern. At 2 am, someone unlocked our door with a key and attempted to enter! Startled from our sleep I yelled out and they shut the door. THANK GOD WE HAD THE SAFETY LATCH ON! We had our key to the room in our possession. How was someone able to use another room key for our room? We had a very hard time sleeping the remainder of the night for obvious reasons. No management was around at 8 am when we left to discuss this with.

The inn has an excellent staff that is attentive, helpful and welcoming. Many of the servers and bartenders went beyond typical service to be helpful. I was bringing a large cooler to my room and Owen offered to carry it up 2 flights of steps. Liam and the other bartenders were equally attentive and friendly. The inn offers a light continental breakfast. When we wanted a more hearty breakfast, the crew made great suggestions for local diners.

One evening, we had a group of 12 for dinner and our primary server, Jillian, was a rock star. Every request was met with quick action and a smile. Jillian also followed up frequently and made our evening perfect.

The food is also very good. The restaurant was packed on Friday night...full of locals kicking off their weekends with good food and live music.

The inn is generally well kept and in good shape for a 157 years old building. There are spots that could use some touch-up paint or updates, but I would recommend staying here if you're in the area. Our room was spacious and comfortable...perhaps the best hotel bed I've slept in. The inn is quiet at night.

The Inn is very cute! The food was good. The room was nice. I was on the second floor so you could definitely hear the noise from the bar below, but it wasn’t terrible. My only complaint was the smell. It definitely smelled like a pub in the room. A mix of fried food and stale smoke perhaps. The other travelers I was with had the same experience in that regard. If you are sensitive to smells or they give you headaches easily, etc. this is definitely not the place for you. Other than that, everything was great.

The room was big and clean; however it is an old inn! Perfectly acceptable lodging at a decent price. Be aware you are sleeping over a bar and our first night there was a band that did keep us awake. Second night was much quieter. I would not go on a live music night unless you wanted to stay up and listen to the music!

We enjoyed our stay at the Stottsville Inn. The Inn has tons of character and entering our room was like stepping back in time. The bed was comfy and we loved the quality of the linens. Our dinner, in the restaurant, was delicious and the servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. Continental breakfast was basic, consisting of fruit and bagels. I had to ask for hot water and tea bags as juice and coffee were the beverages available. We would definitely stay again.

However, the hotel portion of Stottsville Inn seemed to be an afterthought as there was no visible staff members in the morning. The continental breakfast was meager. We checked out early by one day and multiple attempts to contact management about early check out were unanswered. Attempts by Expedia to contact management on our behalf were also unanswered.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Stottsville Inn! The inn itself is wonderful - quaint and historical - and is very well-maintained. The common areas and our room were all super-clean and comfortable.
The staff was wonderful - from Patrick at check-in to the lovely lady who managed the breakfast as we were checking out. We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant, but the food looked and smelled amazing.
The only issue I had with our stay was that it was for only one night, but we will definitely be back.

It’s a lovely old hotel. I’ve driven by a few times and always wondered what it was like inside. It didn’t disappoint!
Beautiful old floors and woodwork. Nothing cookie cutter.
The bar is gorgeous, but the sound did not penetrate-even with a band playing.
Room was clean, plenty of towels and temperature control was quick to change, so very comfortable
If you like old buildings this is for you
Only one word of caution. You do have to carry your bag up a staircase, so don’t overpack!

What an awesome Inn!!

This Inn was an unexpected surprise. My friend and I booked here for our annual girls weekend without knowing much about rhe area. We arrived early and were not 100% wowed by the outside. Inside changed our minds from the moment we opened the door. The Inn is warm, inviting and full of old Inn charm. The bar area makes you want to sit and stay and the staff was wonderful. The fireplace was roaring in the dinningroom when we arrived for dinner the food is to die for. The live music was good. I definitely had 2 of the best nights sleep that I have had in a long time. We will be back!

Patrick❤️ Billie & Tim plus other staff were welcoming, pleasant & courteous; very helpful, we had cheerful twin brothers bring our suitcases to the 3rd floor walkup! Our bed mattress was extraordinarily comfy & high quality sheets & cozy quilt we were perfectly snug & slep well as a result after touring nearby Longwood Gardens. Awesome to have a variety of cable channels to relax by before sleep. We appreciate feeling so welcomed at a small historic charming inn w a lovely vintage tavern, decorated for holidays & bar w great menu and yumy drinks creatively named for the holidays to match. It was like staying w good friends, staff were flexible to our needs & made this stop memorable. Note: having ramp up to the main entrance made wheeling overnight bags easier. Hope to return again, at least for dinner ❤️

This is an historic inn on a country road. Quite unique, even down to the real key to access your room. No staff is available at night but everything was fine. Be aware that you must climb steps up to your room but staff is quite willing to help with your luggage. Breakfast is meager: bagels, coffee, fruit and OJ. It has a good restaurant and excellent bar which is open till 10:00.

The old style charm of this inn is perfect, and the staff makes it feel like home, even the other patrons were welcoming!
Our room was on the third floor, with a private bathroom with shower.
There is no elevator, but staff will help carry your bags up if needed. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Beds are great! Heat and AC are provided via mini splits in each room, super easy to operate and quick to cool/heat your room. Shower water pressire is good. Soap, shampoo, lotion and linens are provided. Bring your own hair dryer if you need one and there is no full length mirror.
Food, beverage and entertainment downstairs are fantastic!
Continental breakfast consisted of bagel, English muffin, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice. I appreciated the China rather than disposable dishes.
I would stay here again , definitely my kind of place!

I would really like to give this place a 5 star rating but it didn't quite make it. First the positives: beautiful, charming old in that just needs some more detailed cleaning and TLC. The staff were very friendly. The negatives were the TV, it had a bad connection and FiOS kept disconnecting. Staff tried to fix it but it did not last. Last negative, we stayed 2 nights. The morning we were checking out we were the only ones there. No one setup the Continental breakfast which we were really looking forward to. I couldn't even find a staff member to ask. Sad, poor management.

Nice quiet place. Reports of the place smelling like smoke are accurate, but I wouldn't say that it affected the stay in any way... just being completely transparent- there is a restaurant on site, which requires cooking on site.

Very cool Inn... Built pre Civil War in 1858. Stayed 2 nights and the staff were great! Nice atmosphere in the restaurant/bar also. I ordered the Grilled burger and it was probably in the top 5 best burger I've had. Our room was very nice and comfortable with a good size shower.

Our drinks and our food were delicious and the waitstaff and the owners were very friendly and hospitable! Alot of the patrons seemed to know one another, which made the atmosphere very pleasant! An okay place to stay while in the area briefly, but there’s a lot of room for improvement. The room seemed clean but was small. Each time we entered the room, there was a heavy whiff of old cigarette smoke. No glassware at all, no facial tissues. Shower floor is slippery and had no grab rails. The check-in process is odd…a hostess stand to the restaurant. Restaurant doesn’t get great reviews, so we chose to have dinner elsewhere. On the way back, a restaurant customer coming out suggested we not order any sandwiches - the bread kept falling apart. ? Continental breakfast was just that and was fine. Coffee was good. Wouldn’t stay here again, though.

It was not the standard hotel experience. The building was really interesting but more importantly, it was really close to where I needed to be.
That being said - I was really surprised to find there was no registration desk nor was there someone on property 24/7. The first night I had to call the owner because some guests next to me were having a very loud party - yelling in the hall, playing music loudly and having a party. I thought perhaps it would settle down after midnight but it was only getting worse. I called around 1 or 1:30am. I was glad to hear the owner arrived shortly and settled those people down. The second night was quiet as could be.

There was no ice nor cold water. For those who do not drink hot liquids, there was nothing but luke warm water or orange juice to drink with breakfast. Breakfast was bagels or english muffins and fruit.

Would I recommend this place? Yes, with caveats. Do not expect anything but a clean room and a nice bathroom.

The bed was....... very firm, not sure if it was a box spring or a really firm mattress in room 306. Just as we were settling in for the night, the fire alarm went off at 1221 am, false alarm fortunately, but still. One of the guests called the owner, I'm not sure what the outcome was, but no discount was offered. I fact, the wait staff is who checks you in and no one is there to check you out in the morning. There is a continental breakfast offered for free, but I'm pretty sure the Chef is the only person onsite in the morning. I prefer a hot breakfast. Given the price, I would stay there again just to enjoy the Bar and food, Espresso Martini's are my Wifes favorite and she was impressed with those.
