We was really impressed with this stay it was so clean and so well organised.

It was our first time staying in a hostel and I was a bit apprehensive at first to be honest but I was really pleasantly surprised!

I had a ensuite room, was nice and quiet and nice touch to have outside seating, staff super friendly, rooms could do with some updating but it is a hostel. Bed was comfortable, a nice to have would be instructions on how to use the heater as it did get a little chilly at night. Overall a good stay. Nothing to do with the hostel, but can be tricky to find places to eat on a Monday night.

Basic but had all the amenities we needed for a 1 night stay. Some reviews say no hot water but we had two hot showers and had no issues. No toiletries is fine for a hostel but hand soap would have been helpful. Good location and parking available at the back of the property. Overall it was fine but two main issues: 1) we were both itching after sleeping in the bed - not sure if this is because of low quality bedding or bugs. 2) The lock box made it easy to check in but the front and back door isn’t locked, even at night so it didn’t feel very secure. Had I been staying alone I think I would have felt quite unsafe. There was a kitchen and lounge but we didn’t use them as the instructions didn’t indicate they were shared areas. Additionally, the green fire exit light in the room was very bright with the light off and so I slept with an eye mask. Only 1 thin pillow per person.

Extérieur sale (plastiques et vieille chaussette devant la porte, moquette du couloir très sale, cuisine crasseuse).
Notre chambre avait une salle de bain pleine de moisissures. Nous l'avons signalé et on nous a changé de chambre. Nous avons été réveillés à 1h30 du matin par des gens qui essayaient de rentrer dans notre chambre.
Le self check in permet au propriétaire d'éviter les plaintes en face à face.
Très mauvais rapport qualité prix. Une arnaque à mon sens.

This was a quaint place to stay that was within walking distance of a cute cafe and shops. The wifi wasn’t very reliable unless you were near the closest outside wall, but worked well there. Overall, it was clean enough, the TV had cable, and the beds weren’t too uncomfortable. I would recommend staying here again!

Good location, nice room. Needs to provide instructions for using the TV and shower as we couldn't get either working on arrival - luckily met the cleaner 2nd day and he sorted the problems. No hot tap for the bathroom sink. Well equipped kitchen area for preparing meals. Good lounge with lots of comfy seating.

Avoid this place

Avoid this place if you can.
We stayed in a 2bunk beds garden room.
0 wifi signal in the room.
No hot water shower at all even have waited 10mins running it on.
Only hot water from the tap.
We 4 needed to hold our breath and run in a 1 minute shower after a long tiring hiking day, not fun at all!
Will never stay again even it's free, let alone we paid £90 for a night.

I stayed for 1 night in room no 2 which is located on the ground floor of the main building. This room is disabled friendly with a large ensuite bathroom. Self checkin process was straight forward. Room itself was spacious and clean. The chairs were a bit worn out but understandable for the price. Some noise transmitted from upstairs as people walked on the floorboards but did not bother me. Handy space at the back of the building to park the car. Overall I felt safe and comfortable. Handy bar/restaurant (Fiddlers) directly opposite the hostel serving great food.

There are clear instructions provided by the staff for finding the hostel and entering the room. The staff is friendly as well.

Using text/email for check-in information was overall interesting and convenient, giving necessary information, but did not allow for customer response. I couldn't access the Wi-Fi and ate through a chunk of data on my phone.
Aside from that the facilities were comfortable, clean, and equipped with en-suites. Furnishing is minimal but cozy, no desks but the sofa is comfortable. Good for short stays.

Good pit stop stay

We stayed just the one night on our way home. The cabin was very clean. Arrangements were made so that we had no physical contact with the staff which, as our stay was during the Covid 19 pandemic, was very good.
We were able to park right outside the door. There was a picnic table and chairs for our use right out side too.
The communal kitchen was clean, the laundry room seemed well supplied though we had no need to use it.
Inside the cabin the beds were comfortable, the TV worked well with no interference (in fact I have the very same TV in my own home) WiFi reception was good.
The shower worked well though it takes a while for the hot water to come through which is usually par for the course when using this kind of accommodation.
Only minor point to improve on was that the towels, though very clean, were also quite well worn.
All in all an enjoyable, comfortable stay with a good nights sleep, which is all we were after. Will definitely stay again on our way to and from Orkney.

The hostel as a public Laundrette in the car park which was useful. My room had a TV a suprise for a hostel but unfortunately it was not tuned in.

On day of stay owner contacted me to tell me that he was transferring me to the sister hostel which was only 5 minutes down the road due to coronavirus. I was okay with this as he tome me it was 5 minutes away from the hostel. It was Far longer and out in the middle of nowhere- only way to get to Drumnadrochit was to drive as you would spend ages walking there and back. When we got to the hostel the room hadn’t been cleaned yet and we had already entered the room (covid risk!!). In the end we did not stay due to the poor communication and standard of the hostel we were transferred to. Definitely nothing like what was expected. We were refused a refund for the property which was highly disappointing given the situation.

Great location, courteous staff, and comfortable room! For \"neat freaks,\" the bathroom had some mold and a hole in the wall and the hallway carpet had a pet odor but, overall, I'd recommend this hostel - especially for those passing through this really neat area.
