I normally don’t write reviews but I figure I should start since I rely on them so heavily. This is a standard hotel room. Very convenient, safe, walkable to shops and restaurants, short taxi to Napoli central. No bells and whistles, but you get plenty of that outside. Clean and simple.

This hotel is in a great location, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. That being said, the building where's located is old and a little run down, the rooms are small, and a few things didn't quite work (bathroom door not closing). Is a very convenient hotel, but you do get what you pay for

Finding it was extremely frustrating. Area was covered in graffiti and the “hotel” was on the 6th floor of an old apartment building. AC did not cool room enough for us to sleep. Would NOT recommend

Very grumpy staff. Terrible arrival to graffiti ridden seedy part of town, we didn’t feel safe here, triple security codes to get access. Didn’t feel safe to go out at night so stayed in. Hard beds, no space, no natural light; window shutter locked closed. No fridge or kettle, when asked to use fridge was denied. Half showers were cold. Room safe had no key so unusable. Like a basic youth hostel, not a hotel. If you can afford it pay a little extra for a decent hotel in a better part of town. This place is 1 star.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, convenient location

The hotel is in a great location close to many bars, shops and restaurants. It's tucked away off the busy street so there was not much noise pollution that could be heard from the room. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. As we checked in when the reception was closed we were provided with clear instructions on how to gain access to the hotel and room. The room is basic but clean, all we needed was somewhere to lay down at night as we explored the city all day. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Hostel-Like Experience with Issues, in Great Part

The hotel is difficult to find due to being incorrectly placed on Google maps. Even once you're in the right place it's still hard to find due to being poorly signed and tucked away down an alley.
Once you do find it its location is pretty stellar and in a very cool part of town. Note though that if you are arriving by car it is inside the ZTL, which you shouldn't enter without proper permissions.
To call this a hotel is misleading, in my opinion. This felt more like a hostel with private rooms.
In our room, the toilet had no toilet paper! This was an unwelcome surprise. The shower drained poorly to the point that you were showering in standing water after a few minutes. The air conditioning unit was broken and wouldn't change off of the setting it was on. I felt like I put too much faith in the hotels.com review that it had... 8.0 stars for a hotel, and was overall disappointed in what we experienced.

Good location, simple accommodation, some caveats.

The biggest benefit to this place is it's location and price. If those are your primary concerns, you will be happy with it. That said, the room was clean, but had a few rough edges. Wifi wasn't great but better than many other places I've stayed in Italy (that were much more expensive). Getting into the hotel itself is awkward and requires a few extra steps (get buzzed through a gate, walk down an ally, get buzzed into the door, walk or take the tiny elevate up 4 floors, and finally into the hotel).

A comfortable hotel in a good location.

In a good location - not far from shops, restaurants and bars. This is a popular, well-run hotel with comfortable rooms and very good value for money. The very secure entrance is a quite 'colourful' and there is a very nice cafe/bar by the entry gate for a snack and a drink perhaps before venturing out to explore the area. There is a useful taxi rank nearby also.

You get what you paid for:
Location is excellent, hotel is within 15 min walk from any point of interest in the center historico. Caffee in the courtyard is very nice. Hving Carrefour in 100m helps. Receptionists are very helpful. Cleaness is average - the linen and towels were fine, and the room was clean, but the walls in the shower and in bathroom in general were cleaned very long ago. Beds are somewhat worn. The staff is very loud. It is hard to sleep at 8 am when they yell to each other from opposing ends of the lobby.

Good base for your Naples weekend stay

Conveniently located in the old town, easy to find with a GPS app, on 4th floor of an old building, safe and easy to come and go with a code on both doors, cafe/bar at ground floor, lots more in the area, including a mini market few doors down, friendly staff, good wifi, optional breakfast available, coffee and drinks to buy, very reasonably priced and good for weekend stay.

Comfortable & clean

Best location. Good value for money. Clean & comfortable. Our room was good size. Friendly staff. Everything thing you need it’s on your doorstep. Very good restaurants, cafe and bars very close by. Breakfast was cheap but I wouldn’t recommend it. Easy to get in as they gave us the code but we didn’t know how to get out of the gate as they didn’t tell us.

Do not stay here!

The member of staff who greeted us was extremely rude. Barely said anything to us other than barking “passport” with no explanation. Gave no instruction as to any of the hotel facilities. The air con was broken and he through his hand in the air as if we had broken it (this was only after entering the room and turning it on!). Room was tiny, hot and dark. We stayed 1 night and left at 7am to escape what felt like a prison. I don’t normally write reviews but I am so angry with the way we were treated I felt obliged to warn other people! I would not recommend this hotel AT ALL.

Arrived at midnight, so was keeping fingers crossed that entry and 24hr desk service were going to be as described - needn't have worried. Entry to no. 109c and 'Europeo Hotel' clearly marked, then get buzzed through gates just set back from the main street, then short walk to end of path and buzzed through again (code can be acquired on arrival). Stairs or lift to 4th floor as noted by others. Night shift showed us to our rooms and we were happy and settled. Used Google translate to message the hotel through the Expedia message site with a couple of queries and late arrival time and got suitable responses in time. Day shift much better English speaking. Plain simple breakfast worth ordering to get you started. WiFi worked perfectly (get password on arrival). The location is perfect for beginning your exploration of Naples, or transit through. Don't be worried by local pictures of graffitied buildings, it's clearly a local past-time!
TAXI WARNING - At the airport, we blindly got into an unregistered taxi. It should have cost around 20ish Euros - we were subjected to a demand for 50. We paid and those guys know you're coming. It was the only bitter pill we had to take. Make sure you get a vehicle with a taxi sign on it and try to find out the cost in advance, its only a 15 min journey at most.

This hotel is a fair walk from the station, and is tucked away next to Naples University. I found the staff helpful, although it was tricky to find the hotel. The hotel was not on the first floor, although there was a lift, which was very handy.

The area is unsafe, the building is full of graffiti, the entrance is like a dark cave, there are people drinking on the street on the side of the entrance and the room is so small you have no room to move around the bed

Good for a quick stay

We stayed here on our way to Amalfi and it was a perfect place for a night's stay. Nothing too fancy and had what we needed. It was also very close to restaurants and cafes. We got in very late, but were still able to walk to a pizza place and get dinner (it was around 1AM). The people at the hotel were very friendly.

If you are staying here contact them before so you are able to get the door code to enter. This was the only problem we had. It was 1230am (our flight had been delayed so we arrive a few hours late), it started to rain, we did not have our cell phone data turned on, and had know way of knowing how to get into the building. There is also a gate that you have to get into before the building door and we just happen to be lucky enough that someone was coming out of that so we could get in. We then had to turn our cell phone international plan on to make a call to have someone let us in. So, email or reach out before to you can get the gate and door code!

Good Budget stay in the heart of Naples

The corridors and the reception area are very nice and colourful, the staff are very polite and friendly, good wifi, comfortable beds, quite clean. It is a little noisy, but it's Naples, so you need to get used to the noise of the city. Good location for the old town and shopping. Good value for the price.

We went to Naples, Italy for the food, and we weren’t disappointed. The hotel isn’t in the greatest of areas, with graffiti rampant. But the hotel served it’s purpose. Plenty of towels and the service was nice

Cheap and you'd know it!

No front entrance, access is via security codes in a back alleyway, has a lift that can fit two thin people side by side at most, or one person with luggage. The \"Hotel\" is on two floors of a building that seems to contain other apartments. There is no tea/ coffee in room, we had one roll of toilet paper and one towel each for two days stay, the television only has a few local channels, the wifi bad, the area is noisy , it truly sounded like someone was murdered on the street below ! There were people banging on doors in the hallway outside during the night. The street outside is full of students drinking and reveling, not a place for families. The room was dirty, dead fly mashed in to the white curtain, gghh, you couldn't swing a cat in the bathroom. Room wasn't ready when we arrived at 2pm and certainly wasn't anything like the picture. We didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that, only had a shower out of absolute necessity , we were only staying a short time otherwise I'd have left and found somewhere else, the place gave me the heeby jeebies

WiFi Not Compatible w/ Apple. Rude Night Staff.

They did not have WiFi service easily compatible with Apple products (not mentioned on the website that only says “Free WiFi”. The evening desk staff Barbara was quite rude when we asked for help & clarification about the incompatible WiFi-she refused to call a manager/owner to help us. We felt stranded for a night & left 2 nights early.

Great location in the middle of everything. Very easy to get around. Lots of great restaurants in the area. The room was comfortable, if a bit small. But, I didn't come to Naples to sit in my hotel room. Also, the WiFi in my room was problematic. Sometimes worked, most times did not.

NO HOT WATER!!

I don't expect much of a $35-a-day hotel, but I do expect to have hot water in my shower. They have one small boiler for the entire floor and during our 5-day stay we had only one proper shower. Most of the times we could shower for a maximum of 3 minutes before the water turned freezing cold. We asked the receptionist for help but got a rude response. Not happy with my stay.

Somewhat dingy hotel in a great location

Ok to stay for a night but don't expect too much. Small room with bare essentials. Fixtures barely working and room not terribly clean. The staff is not unfriendly but not terribly helpful either - what you'd expect from a big city hotel. The wall art is interesting - may seem obscene at first glance but know that it is Pompeii art.

The location is great - which is why we booked this. Walking distance to Spaccannapoli. The metro stop is a 7 minute walk.

When complained about this to staff they told me to shower the night before as the hot water ran out in the busy mornings.

Good price, excellent location

We had to wait until after 2pm to check in, but could leave our bags with them.
The hotel is on the 4th floor of an apartment block, but lots of CCTV cover reception.

Was a little concerned that they wanted to keep hold of our passports for a while, but apparently it's normal in Italy.

Staff were friendly and helpful.
There's no kettle and complementary tea/coffee etc in the room. You can opt for room service breakfast at €3.50, we did this once and it's an ok deal for the price.

Location is spot on; very close to the centre with loads of restaurants to choose from.
Cost us €40 from the airport and a fixed price of €20 to get back to the airport by taxi. You could possibly navigate your way to Naples via bus reasonably well at a fraction of the cost, but would take longer.

Back to the hotel and stay.... Beds were reasonably comfy; we had to upgrade as I'd picked a twin \"large single\" room. Twin doesn't mean two separate beds! The bathroom hand towels are like thin tea towels, but the bath sheet was ok.
We were in the room right next to reception and was concerned that it could be noisy, but thankfully not from reception, but the wall to the adjacent room was a little thin.

Overall, excellent value.

Central location for tourists, great value

Travelled as a couple; very nice room with all facilities supplied. Comments from other reviewers about towels were not experienced by us - there were fresh towels every day. Bed was hard so I found that while I couldn't say it's uncomfortable, I wouldn't describe it as 'comfortable'. Really good location. Very quiet. Cafe at entrance and the university's social science department. There was a film festival when we were there so it was great to go from the film next door to our hotel. I would recommend this hotel.
We plan to return.

Budget and close to everything

If you are looking for a low cost hotel with clean comfortable beds and a great power shower this is the place. The area seems a bit run down when you first arrive but it does not have a feeling of being unsafe and you are living in the centre of napolitan life complete with washing hanging outside apartments and the noise of everyday life around you. The windows are double glazed so that softens the sound at night. You can walk to everything you need from this location and the price for the breakfast is reasonable compared to cafe prices outside. The hotel is situated on the forth floor sandwiched between local apartments and has a typical small three person elevator which is a squeeze with big bags and you pop out on to a 24 hour manned reception area.

close to middle of naples

Was very easy to find , it is easy to use the metro and just round the corner at university. Which can be got at garibaldi station. We managed to get a 7 day ticket which can be used on all forms of transport accept the alibis from that airport which was 4 euro.
Hotel was clean and bedding changed everyday. It was quiet at night Friday and Saturday nights had youngsters. Enjoying themselves so a bit noisy then. But staff friendly and helpful

Nice hotel for budget travelers in good area

We enjoyed our stay here. The paintings all over the hotel were awesome! The hotel is a great price for those travelling on a budget. Bed wasn't the most comfortable, but we weren't paying for extra soft pillows and king size beds like at expensive hotels! It had all the necessities we needed - big shower, privacy, quiet, TV, AC. Hotel staff were great! Very friendly and helpful. We also loved the area - it was safe, right beside the university. Lots of university students in the area, nearby lots of bars, restaurants and good pizzerias. Would definitely recommend this place!

Bad stay in Naples. Hotel is in good area for food and not too far from very thing, but area is not ideal, like a lot of spots in Naples. The person for the check-in was not welcoming. You have to leave your keys at check-in everyone you leave which is very different from the other hotels. Therefore, don't leave important stuff in the hotel. There were ants in the shower. Not a good stay...

The hotel itself is tucked away down a back alley in a gated area spoilt by the cafe at the gate entrance full of youths smoking tobacco and weed. The whole of Naples is filthy and the area around the hotel is quite grubby and unwelcoming... despite being right near the main tourist area. Cars and mopeds play chicken with you on the streets at top speed and is a little crazy. On the plus side, the hotel is really clean, the staff are friendly and let use an umbrella during the rain. Rooms are cleaned daily and have tv (no English channels at all... I went through all 800!!!) And have air conditioning as well as a fan. Towels are like small tea towels rather than proper towels but they did the job. Overall an ok experience and although naples is a s...hole, the hotel for the price is not bad. Ps don't drag cases there, the cobbles are a nightmare. Get the metro to the university for €1.10

- felt a bit less secure because so much security was in the hands of hotel staff, and very variable staff (eg when we checked in, a lot of the details on how the gates/keys work wasn't mentioned, whereas the next day's morning staff was very welcoming and made sure we knew how the gate worked, etc)
- a bit inconvenient if you want to just quickly step outside and you are rooming with anyone else, because the keys need to be returned to reception every time you leave the hotel, and the electricity doesn't work in the room without the keys / the room is very dark

Good location, average room, poor service.

The host on my arrival was very poor. Showed me very little information. I had to ask for the code for the gate, the Wi-Fi code, check out time, and other information that is usually given on check in. Big group of people smoking pot at the front gate every time I came back to it, not the hotels fault, but made me uneasy. That in mind, the hotel is in a part of town that represents naples well, great streets to walk around.

Sadly a Flop

As much as I hate to say, I really really disliked the hotel. The staff is amazing and is located in a okay area. You have to provide codes twice to even enter the building and then a key to your room that you have to lock yourself in close. The room was SMALL, the bed SMALLER, the water pressure in the shower was horrible, and the bed was painful. The enternece to the hotel is hard to find and is always filled with 10+ 20 year olds at the cafe next door. It is on the 4th floor and the closet is smaller than the shower area we had. I would not book this hotel again and I hate to say that but my back and sanity would not allow me to do so.

We booked non-smoking room but was given a room that reeked of cigarette butt. We told them that we booked non-smoking room but the staff said that all the rooms were like that and some customers still smoke even though it's a non-smoking room. We had to buy air-freshener!

The room itself is very tiny (about 6 metres square). Shower drain doesn't even drain the water.

When we tried to sleep, we began getting headache due to cigarette butt smell, which reeked in the mattress and pillow! Clearly, they don't clean their pillows!

We went to reception to see if we could get a new pillow case. The receptionist became annoyed and started swearing at us in Italian! We eventually got new pillow case, which didn't even help the situation very much.

In the morning, somebody opened our room with a key while we were still sleeping! They didn't even knock or even apologise after! This was very disturbing!!

Don't be deceived by the room photos they uploaded. The room is actually way smaller and basic! Floor was dusty and the bed wasn't comfortable at all. We could hardly sleep!

We were in Naples for less than 24 hours. Train station was about 1 mile away. We took the train to Herculaneum, which was 1 stop away from the train station. The docks, museums, shopping, restaurants, and many attractions are within 1 mile walking distance. Like many hotels, this is on the 4th floor. If you have a large luggage, it may barely fit in a skinny elevator for 2. Everyone is friendly and very nice. The key controls the lighting and electricity in the room. There is no way you can lose your keys inside your room and you need to give your keys to the receptionist as you leave.

A lovely hotel in a great community.

Although we initially had a bit of trouble finding the entrance to the hotel (it is located behind a security gate) we loved our stay at Hotel Europeo. Our room was lovely and had a nice view of the neighborhood and the air conditioning made the warmer nights comfortable. The room included a fridge as well which was handy because there is a supermarket only a few doors down. The staff were helpful and friendly and I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting Naples. The hotel is walking distance to a metro stop and is only one metro stop from Napoli Centrale.

Great location, easy to find. Bit disorganised when we arrived - we had to wait over an hour while the room was readied (reception said it would take 10 mins!)
We were on the 3rd floor and it was a bit of a hassle having to go up to reception on the 4th floor to hand in/collect the key every time we went out/came in.
The lift is tiny - it says it takes 3 people but felt cramped with just the of us.
The room decor is a bit different!!

It was pleasant. This is a good deal. Location is great. It is on a top floor of a residential building. Not like a regular hotel. The elevator is very small but works fine. It gets noisy at night sometimes because of the college students cross the street. Overall I would recommend staying here.

Good hotel in a good location

Great hotel for visiting Naples and surrounding towns Pompeii and Amalfi coast.

Close to old city pedestrian area

Roman themed decor in rooms was quirky but nice. We booked a small room which was small but adequate. It was not soundproof, some noise from corridor and outside even with window shut and shutter down but not too intrusive. Air conditioning was good and needed. If you have luggage get a taxi from the centre, long walk uphill from bus or metro. Lots of bars, cafés and restaurants nearby. Try the ice cream factory lollipops.

Rude, haughty staff - dirty rooms

Staff hung up on me when I called hotel asking for directions. Had a horrible attitude and cursed at me in Italian.

Room is very minimalistic and seemed dirty. Afraid to use everything.

The walls of the street outside the hotel are also full of graffiti - makes me feel very unsafe.

Nice hotel in a great location!

The hotel was in a great location for exploring Naples, with easy access to many sights, restaurants, bars and public transport in walking distance. Our double room was comfortable, clean and quiet at night; the staff were also friendly and helpful.

Not worth it

We stayed at Hotel Europeo last week for 2 nights. It's fairly easy to find although the sign for it is tiny and you have to go through a courtyard to get there. The man at reception was disgustingly rude to me everytime I needed to ask him something. The wifi doesn't work unless you literally stand at the reception desk. The room wasn't cleaned but the cleaner came in to turn the aircon off. Had to ask for toilet paper. Hot water didn't work until a third attempt on the first night. There was a lovely man at reception at one stage who spoke English and tried to help. He quoted €16 for a taxi to the airport then the taxi drive demanded €20 for his 'taxi' that took 10 minutes. Overall, I'd never stay again and I would NEVER recommend anyone go to Naples regardless of where they stay. You can't find anything to do, it's filthy and it's dodgy.

We had a great 3 night stay. Its hard to find at first. 4th floor. Not what I was expecting. Actually I had no idea what to expect being from the states, it was very different. After the first night and walking around the town. I was hooked. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms a bit small but all we did was go to our room to shower and sleep. It was perfect!

I was disappointed with my stay at Hotel Europeo. I read the reviews from other peoples who stayed before when I reserved and I can't agree with the positive reviews after staying there. The room was old and not really confortable. The neighbourhood is noisy and you hear everything. The staff was not really friendly. I won't go back and should have stayed elsewhere.

Older place but well kept rooms, rest of the building is apartments and business space but don't be put off by building appearance, hotel actually pretty nice for the price, close to mass transport and blocks from via tribunal with great food and night life in the streets

Very nice budget hotel in the heart of Napoli

We had great stay in this hotel in Napoli. The hotel is on the fourth floor of a building. Initially little hard to find but if you look closely you can see the signs for the hotel. It is located in the historical center of Napoli. We felt very safe in the area. Definitely it is a great place to experience the day and night life in Napoli. We stayed one night in another hotel in the city which was rated 3 stars and was much worst then the 1 star Hotel Europeo. The staff is very friendly and satisfied all of our needs (e.g. I had to print our boarding passes and the only thing I had to do is to send them by email and the lady at the reception brought them to me in 10 minutes). Next time we come back to Napoli we will definitely stay there again.

A taste of real Naples

Great place if you are ready for real Naples experience. A bit noisy at night, but the place is right across from the university so it was expected. Central location, close to most sights. Be prepared to climb stairs. Felt very safe. Overall excellent experience.

Nice hotel but dubious fire safety

This is a nice hotel located on the fourth floor of a residential building. While the hotel is well kept and the service nice, one has to wonder about health and safety. In fact there appear to be no emergency exits - the only way out is through a communal and very narrow corridor. We noticedo a coffee machine being used in a storage room. So all in all, a nice place but with a tragedy in the waiting.

Two nights in Naples

Was great value for the money close to a lovely area. Room was reasonable but toilet flush was broken and shower was small bu overall better than expected for the money. Nothing else to fault apart from we weren't told that you had to press a button to get out of the external gate. They probably just forgot so may be useful to have in the roo somewhere. Would definitely recommend as a cheap place to stay in Naples.

I was concerned after booking because I thought the total price was the nightly price so was worried it wouldn't be ok for the price. It's close to a metro station that's one stop from the train station. Near the university and probably caters more to the hostel/college crowd but it was fine for myself and my 21 y/o daughter. Definitely not fancy but clean and sufficient for the short amount of time spent in the room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Close to the shopping and historical area- short walk to the start of the free walking tour of the city.

Great little budget hotel

The hotel is smack bang in the middle of the old town and in walking distance of most major tourist sites. Near to the Piazza San Dominico
from which numerous narrow streets house shops and resteruants, cafes
etc 24 hour desk. Hotel is on the 4 th flour but there is a lift all be small. Enjoyed my short stay my room was at the back of the hotel and therefore quite, the lager rooms at the front have a small balcony overlooking the street but can suffer from a bitof noise

It is a mistake

Really bad experience. The space and bed is really small, that's no space for you to move or turnover on the bed. The street nearby is disordered. The sound isolation is also awful that you can easily hear the sound from you neighbor, especially when they take a shower or use toilet. It's a bad choice if you want to enjoy your trip in Napoli. Think twice before you book it.

Staff very helpful, ideal location for getting out and about, cafe right outside the gated entrance if you need breakfast.Outside on the street is much graffiti and rubbish but that goes for a lot of Naples! If you are visiting and need clean, basic accommodation the hotel is great.

A good stay to transition between travels!

We stayed here between the Amalfi Coast and Florence. Check in and service was good, a comfortable bed and the sheets and towels were fresh and clean. Loved the AC. A small room but good if you're coming in and then walking around town anyways. Also probably the better of the Wifi's we've had on our trip. Overall pretty happy with our stay. A little hard to find.. Ask the locals once you get near it, look for small signs on the walls! Through a gate and in between buildings.

Small everything

Elevator = Size of suitcase. Felt like a coffin. Booked a single bed room and received a room 2 inch bigger than the bed itself. I was willing to pay extra for a roll on bed, but there was no room in the bedroom !!! Had to pay extra to get an upgrade on the room. Gentleman on the front desk nice and helpful.
