I booked a room using Expedia from 3/17-3/20. I contacted Expedia on 3/17 to cancel the booking because I no longer needed the room and was connected to Patrick G, an Expedia customer service representative.
Patrick G reported the following: “I was able to contact the hotel, and they have advised that they will not charge your card. While they are unable to cancel the reservation as it is already marked as ‘in stay,’ they have agreed to let the booking go as a no-show without any charges. The good news is that you will not be billed for this reservation. However, please note that the booking cannot be formally canceled on either our end or the hotel’s end at this stage.”
While I was assured that I would not be charged, $173.37 was charged to my card on 3/18.
This miscommunication between Expedia and Extended Stay America Premier Suites Port Charlotte I75 has soured my opinion of both companies.

I made the reservation through expedia. I was traveling there when I recieved a voicemail they had no WIFI and needed me to cancel the reservation and remake it. I called them back immediately and reached what I believed to be a call center for them and they said my reservation was still good. I explained the message and she placed me on hold and came back to say the reservation was indeed cancelled because of their issues. I said can you please book me as I'm enroute. She said they had no bookings available. I went to the Hampton Inn and it was awesome, cleanest hotel ever, best breakfast ever and I'll go there from now on.

Second night i came here, should have learned from the first. Ground floor, right in front of the smoke pit with loud rude people right oitside my window.....spent the very last of my.money thinking the last time was just a bad day, yeah, nothin against the staff, but i woulda been better off putting my 87 dollars into a donkys butt and letting it kick me in the nuts repeatedly then lay under it while it defacates on my stomach. I would haave gotten probably a little more sleep. 2nd day of work ill miss now.

The blankets and pillow cases don’t seem like they were changed in awhile. They also had an odd smell and some pet hairs. The desk also had dirt marks on it, which was easily cleaned off. Unfortunately, these rooms are not being cleaned properly between uses.

Through no fault of the facility, power was lost in the middle of the night, which created a difficult situation, since one of the party was on an oxygen concentrator. Thankfully power was restored fairly quickly. Aside from that, the property was clean, relatively quiet, and convenient for our needs.

The room was nice and clean. The service is good too. I really liked that I could make my own food in the room on a electric stove top. Two things that I didn't like that could have made it a 5 star experience was that the free breakfast was cheap with just boiled eggs, yogurt, and bars. And the shower had very little pressure, so it took me longer to shower to make sure the shampoo and soap was all rinsed off. Also, 2am the room above me was noisy with foot steps.

Staff couldn’t use computer to check us in, they had us go up and down elevator multiple time to return to the front desk, staff asked to keep my drivers license overnight until 3pm the next day to be able to check in after we leave. We paid full price for only 8 hours, room smelled like smoke so badly we had to sleep with face covered . Rooms had no hair dryer. Items in vending machine were stuck and or empty, I would not recommend to stay here unless they are smokers

It was a little sterile but clean and very welcomed. The girl who checked us in was amazing. I would stay again and the check in was also amazing with my elderly dog. I asked for a first floor and she made it work. I was extremely grateful.

I also observed a run down van permanently parked in the parking lot . Some seedy people were also seen here man and woman you get my drift . I’d give it a 6/10. Breakfast was a granola bar ? No carpet on floors and were dirty to walk around in bare feet . Staff was super nice and the price was good . Prob won’t stay here again unless absolutely necessary. Suspected bed bugs also .
