1st room they put us in had a bad musty smell so they changed are room and when we came back that night we found we had no heat so we had to chang rooms again
the staff was accomidating but the room cahange was annoying also it would be great if they had a small coffee maker in the room there is no continental breakfast

The bed had pubic hair in it. They moved us to another room, where at 3a.m. there was no heat.
We wete freezing and left at 5:30 a.m.
We checked in after midnight. No rest, no sleep after a full day of travel.

The room smelled overwhelmingly of mold. Nothing \"looked\" clean, even if it was. The security lock on the door was broken, making us feel unsafe. We paid for 2 nights, left after 1. Between feeling unclean and unsafe, we had to go.

The property advertises free breakfast, please look elsewhere there is no breakfast. This is a highcrime area the cops were there everyday. Someone tried to break into my car and I was woken up every night around 3am by drunks in the parking lot. Look else where!!!

Gentleman who owned the motel was extremely rude. I am an overnight response nurse in the area for a 10shift stay. I tried to extend my stay to the Saturday evening I needed to be that way and the guy tells me no need I’m all paid up. Then I go to bed at 930 he’s banging on my door check out is at eleven I need to pay or go. When I tried to explain to the exact gentleman I dealt with that he had just told me I was paid up and could I handle it at 4pm when I awoke it became a problem and he began speaking to me very rudely and inappropriately. I will be finding alternative lodging. Rain pours under the door jams and there are people hanging out in the parking lot all day. Cars sitting on jacks.

I didn’t like this property. The sheets and towels was stained. Bug was in refrigerator. Hair was in tub and on parts of toilet. When I went to front desk to inform them, the gentleman joked and laughed with the house keeper as to why you put stained sheets on the bed. No apology to me about the problems. There was no solution suggested by the guy on duties. Poor customer service. I was given more sheets. If I could of went somewhere else I would of.

I don’t know what I was thinking when booking this hotel. I wanted something basic, reasonably priced, as I was not coming to the area for vacation.

Upon checking the clerk was very evasive on what the breakfast would be, and stated he wasn’t sure what really would be available, as he didn’t think because of Covid they were doing much breakfast.

The room was on the small side, and to the contrary of the posted photos of the room, they were only two pillows per bed. The bedspread looked unsanitary, and when I looked at the sheets, there were a lot of stains on them.

The stopper for the bathtub was missing. When we open the fridge/freezer, a big amount of water fell on the floor. Even though it was a room for two people, with two double beds, they were only two towels in the bathroom.

The bathroom AC was not functioning. The TV quality was horrible, there were no station that didn’t have static.

The hairdryer was not functioning properly, after two minutes of use, it would stop. I had to wait about 10 minutes in between the two minutes of use. It took me quite a while to dry my hair.

When I called the front desk to get another hairdryer, I was told they had no replacement.

Unfortunately this was to step downs from Motel Six. Total cost for 3 nights was two eighty and change.

I will never be back!

I’m not one to ever leave bad reviews because I understand that stuff happens, but this motel deserves one.
We payed for three separate rooms for 3 nights. When attempting to check in it was difficult to communicate with staff due to language barrier (which is normally dismissible until it takes 20 minutes to get our keys and check in)
After a 26 hour drive we just wanted to check in and take a nap, but could not do this because the sheets had clearly not been changed—they were covered in fresh blood spots and were clearly slept in as if housekeeping had just remade the bed. My mother’s room had sex stains and fresh muddy dog prints on the sheets.
My “non-smoking” room reeked of cigarettes and my duvet was covered in burn holes.
The floors were dirty to the point that if we walked barefoot, the bottom of our feet would be black with dirt. The towels were also covered in dirt and other peoples hair so I could not use them.
Housekeeping used a shopping cart from the nearby Publix to transport items around in and would rattle by the room at ungodly hours.
One of the live-in residents right next door was clearly a drug dealer and would leave in their extremely loud vehicle every 15 minutes all day and night, and the walls were so thin that I could hear everything in the room next to me. Both of these things combined resulted in absolutely no sleep for the three days I stayed there.
I do not recommend that anyone stay at this motel.

It was clean, floors seemed to be subfloor, so when walking around it felt like you were on a second floor, the bad was other occupants in adjacent rooms you could hear them walking around, needless to say on the second night of the stay, someone in the room next door decided to get back late (2am) after drinking with a bunch of friends and were singing and creating noise till 5am, so much for a good nights sleep, also US41 was very audible late at night. So will not be staying here again, the microtel around the corner was not an option as I have stayed there before and that room was heavily infested with fleas.

Worst place I have ever stayed! Room was dirty, I booked a non smoking room and it wreaked of smoke, the sheets had stains and there were cigarette burns in the sheets, the towels weren't folded, the bathroom door didn't close or lock, there were seedy looking people loitering late at night outside the room door, the staff was unhelpful and rude... I can't express how terrible this hotel is. Go somewhere else!

Make sure you choose the correct Knights Inn!

The room was updated and clean. The hotel grounds were kept neat and clean. Some of the clientele seemed a little sketchy but everything was fine. I did have an issue where I accidentally booked at the Knights Inn in Punta Gorda by mistake. The Punta Gorda location would not allow me to move my stay to the Port Charlotte hotel so I lost that booking and had to pay for Friday twice. According to the Punta Gorda location this is a common occurrence and the Port Charlotte location never allows them to switch it so, they wouldn't.

Someone checked into the room next to mine and was in and out all night. They proceeded to sit outside of my room having a conversation LOUDLY until 5 am. I complained to the front desk numerous times yet nothing was done. I did not feel safe at all and the front desk staff did nothing to alleviate the situation or secure my safety.

The room stunk of bleach which might have given a \"clean\" feel but we found a used q-tip on the floor (not ours) and a dirty cap of some kind. The room was extremely dated, bathroom disgusting. There was an old man who stood guard over the coffee when my husband attempted to get a cup in the breakfast (?) area. We had to call the office to get the remote to the TV. The towels had been washed but were stiff and stained. Unbelievably the bed was fairly comfortable and the small refrigerator worked. Will never visit a Knights Inn again.

Liked it was close to everything, lowest prices around....then we found out why! 1st time stayed, ppl walking up and down side walk asking if anyone had any drugs for sale, next morning men a few doors down get in a screaming match and fist fight over work schedule, hookers soliciting at night in parking lot, all website and booking sites say pets allowed, they don't say it's 10.00/night/pet. That really raises the room rate. Towels are BADLY stained, tub's and sinks don't drain so you wind up standing in 8 inches of dirty water while showing. Sink backs up really bad too. Decided to give it another try few wks later, got a nice big king room with sofa. The microwave plug doesnt stay in the wall, have to hold it in or it shuts off. Floors were so dirty our feet were black , tried socks but they got ruined and had to throw away. Drains still don't drain, ads say guest laundry but when i asked where it was they said they didn't have one that a laundromat is down the street, tubs stained and peeling , ac plug. Outlet is pulled away from the wall has a big hole in it where n outlet is. Tonight i had ppl try to get into my room 3 times ...doesnt help there's no lock on the door other than keycard. Couple nights ago my cat was looking at her food bowl funny. I walked over tp see what was wrong and there was a giant roach..
As in cockroach! Someone tried to say it was a palmetto bug... which comes from coxkroaches. Hao twalk 2 miles, 1 each way, to get to grocery stor

Not so good. Checked in late and on duty manager seemed annoyed we were bothering her at 7:30pm. Gave us a smoking room and we booked a non-smoking room. Had to go back and request it, also never gave us the WiFi password, had to ask. Complimentary breakfast was almost non-existent. Room was musty and there was a gap under the door with mildew and wood mold.

The shower rod was almost falling out of it's brackets, The lack of amenities was obviously lacking. There was no room clean-up after my first nights stay, and my towels were left to pile up until the following day when i checked out. I will NEVER stay at another Knights Inn, and will tell everyone i know about my horrible experience.

The door had a gap under it allowing bugs, geckos and smoke from neighbors outside. Very smoky smelling everytime we went into the room. We don't recommend this place to non-smokers. There are no rules about how far from building smokers must be while smoking. The tub area was run down. 2 days the housekeeper had no idea how to make a bed. Had to request more linens. They knew 2 people were in the room but didn't get 2 of each towels. Continental breakfast: One other guest said \"What continent is this from?: Not a good one continental breakfast. We went out to eat breakfast after the 1st 2 days. We stayed there 5 nights. Never again.

Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. However the room: floor was dirty (sand, dirt or sawdust), there was black hair in the sink and ice bucket, there was an old facecloth on the shower rod (indicating the shower was not totally clean and the curtain had not been changed. There was a desk, but no pen; and there was torn paper under the desk, meaning the floor had not been cleaned under the desk.. The black- out curtains were OK but had holes in them. No toiletries were provided....just leftover soap in the shower from the previous guest. The so-called breakfast was totally inadequate: the coffe was Luke warm. Breakfast was supposed to be available at 7 but by 7:30 the only food available was either bran flakes or fruit loops, or make-you-own waffles; there was syrup or grape jelly. Nothing else. The juice machine was \"out of service\". When I went to check out, there was nobody in the office and when I called out, there was no response- I assumed they did not want to know how my stay went! Parking was adequate and reasonably lighted. The motel is on Tamiami Trail so it is easy to get to (or away from). I would not consider staying there again and shared my negative experience with all my travel mates who (wisely) stayed elsewhere.

The hotel is in poor shape and needs some serious upgrading. The bed was extremely hard, which along with the traffic noise made it difficult to sleep. While the breakfast was okay, there was very limited room to sit and enjoy it. Overall, room was below average for the price paid. Person checking me in was more interested in her visitor than my arrival, and more often than not the front desk was unattended and I had to wait a period of time for service.

Not so good, it was 50 degrees out, after paying on hotels.com, then being charged a 2nd time by knights inn, the room key I got 1st, didn't work. So i had to walk all the way back around in the cold, to get another key, walked all the way back again still the key didn't work, walked all the way to the office again, finally switched the room...after entering the room, we noticed right away it was dirty, shower was nasty and stained, food was left in fridge, fridge was warm so it kind of smelled bad...we had no choice but to sleep there but we were not happy

The motel room was deplorable the combination tub shower looked really old & really outdated, the toilet sounded really bad, I saw an Adult Cockroach crawling up the bathroom door frame when I was using the toilet, the microwave oven was all rusted out & I saw Baby Cockroaches Crawling Under The Glass Plate In The Microwave Oven & I Saw a Adult Cockroach run under the microwave oven too! Who Really Knows How Many Cockroaches & Bugs Are Crawling Around In The Room That I Stayed In Last Night At The Knights Inn in Port Charlotte, Florida On November 12, 2018! There Were Cracks In The Walls In Several Places & The Room Was Really GROSS & DISGUSTING! The Health Inspectors Need To Shut This Motel Down & This Motel Needs To Be Thoroughly Inspected For Mold & Be All Torn Down & Rebuilt AGAIN! I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS MOTEL EVER AGAIN! This hotel needs some major renovation. The A/C did not work well. The continental breakfast is not existent. The manager refused to give me a receipt until I told her that this review would be forthcoming. The hotel manager ran my credit card on an old fashioned compression machine.....and an electronic version.when I objected...….she said I could not stay there without the second credit card carboned form???? I had no place to go at night!!!!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. I just hope that the carboned form does not mean my identity has been stolen.

Is the worst hotel I have ever stayed and I am from Honduras. There was coackroaches over the bed and floor. The non smoking room had an musty and smoking odor. The bathroom was dirty. There is no breakfast!!!! By far is the worst hotel I have ever stay and Expedia didn’t help me with the refund neither have an accurate description of the hotel. A real bad experience!!!!!

Filty hotel, stay away

The room had a very bad odor. The towels had blood on them. The sheets had blood on them. I requested a full refund, and was told that they have nothing to do with the payments. The person at the front was very rude. Stay away from this place.

Cleaning Staff was nice, but...

Lights were missing light bulbs, sink would drain very slowly, and there was no breakfast to speak of. When I inquired about breakfast, the clerk did not speak very good English and said that someone did not show up, so there would not be any breakfast. We stayed for a week and there was nothing to eat except waffles you had to make yourself. Juice machine was broken the entire week. We will not be staying in this hotel again.

WARNING - THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL YOU WANT

The hotel clerk took 10 minutes to get to the desk to check me in. There were strange men around the door of my room that she placed me in and the curtains did not close securely. The room smelled badly with a body odor smell and garlic. It did not look like it was clean. I felt unsafe and dirty in room 208. I asked the owner for a change. He gave me a newer room, Room 211. The clerk was angry that I got a newer room. She needs to be fired, for sure. She was a thug. The guys outside of the room ended up being ok. They were construction workers that left at 5:30 -6 in the morning. I know this since it was very loud at that time.

Drugs and prostitution , useless front office

Don't stay here, staff is useless and rents to druggies and prostitutes and doesn't care. Hotel staff goes in your room once you leave, I wouldn't recommend this place at all your safer sleeping in your vechicle. Still trying to get a refund we left an after the safety of our family was put at risk. We weren't even there 2 hours.

The towels were dirty looking. 2 nights out of the 4 we had to ask for towels, Bugs in the room. No tissues, TV reception bad, Heater/Air Conditioner didn't work properly (It had it's own agenda and knocked all night). The floor was so uneven you walked like a drunk in there. Definitely not suitable for senior citizens.
