Absolutely surprizing experience
Hotel in great location, situated on the shore of Jyväsjärvi lake in the middle of university campuses. 20 minutes from local airport. Very comfortable and practically furnished rooms with an excellent view of the lake (I recommend choosing a room with a private sauna, it's really worth it). Good breakfast, the hotel restaurant is also good. What is really brilliant, is the very nice and helpful reception staff, who will give you comprehensive information about local transport, sights, and will recommend a really great local restaurant (Kissanviisket, you must visit). Jyväskylä has very nice Alvar Aalto museum, Central Finland museum and, nearby in Tikkakoski you will find the Finnish Air Force Museum.

I piced this hotel at random, as it was directly on my route. The hotel itself is nothing \"special\", everything is as expected. Okay, the location by the lake is superb, and the service was very friendly and professional.
But what struck me was the restaurant. It was absolutely incredible – I planned to get a quick bite, but looking at the menu I knew that wasn't going to be the case. The menu was full of amazing sounding dishes, and I had a hard time to make choices, everything looked so fantastic. And the dishes themselves didn't disappoint, the food was absolutely fantastic, also very well served and presented: 10/10.

Beautiful location by the lake. Lots of free parking spots nearby. The room was small and noisy but cheap. Breakfast was okay, pretty standard. The location and the view are definitely the highlights of this place, everything else was just okay.

When we got to our room we noticed that the floors had not been cleaned. Quite a bit of dust balls crumbs etc around. We complained at reception and went for dinner when we returned it had been taken care of. We loved the location. Right in the lake, we managed to swim off of the dock of the hotel. Breakfast was very nice. We would go here again.

As long as the restaurant is avoided, this is a charming, lovely place to stay with clean, quiet rooms at a reasonable price point. The staff are joyful, welcoming and could not have been more helpful - all in all a wonderful experience and I will revisit! :c)

Somewhat hidden away but surprisingly walkable to downtown, our rooms had beautiful views of a lake. Furnishings and amenities were basic. The ample breakfast, with hot dishes constantly replenished, included Finnish specialties, in a most pleasant dining room.

A night on the lake with a sauna!
We only had one night at this location but enjoyed it very much. I must admit that we took an upgrade and stayed in one of their rooms with a sauna. This room also sat on the lake and you felt as if you were on a boat. Nice way to relax before hitting the road again the next morning. This hotel sits in a quiet place across the river from the university so it was a lovely setting. I did peek at the regular rooms and they were on the small side, but if you can afford an upgrade, you will be very happy.

horrible room for £100 - more like a hostel room than a hotel. Freezing cold. no heating on in winter in Finland. Ridiculous. Was so cold I asked to change room - eventually they gave me room (much better one) but made me feel guilty for asking.

Quiet and a wonderful view
Room was clean and spacious, also very, very clean. It has an amazing view of the lake, which more than makes up for some issues (e.g. absolutely no towels when I arrived in the room, and I had to go downstairs to pick them up because no one delivered them after I requested them). The rate is also pretty reasonable. I had a meal at the restaurant, which wasn't cheap, but was remarkably good.

Hotellissa ei ollut kahvikonetta ja ravintolasta sai huonoa kahvia. Huoneeseen kuului ääniä toisista huoneista ja käytävältä, äänieristys huono. Aamiainen oli ok, mutta melko perus. Hotellissa oli kaiken lisäksi remontti, josta ei kerrottu. Kaiken kaikkiaan ihan keskivertohotelli, maakuntatasoa. Ei kannata odottaa liikoja.

Hotelli valikoitui välietapin yöpymiskohteeksi kolmen kriteerin täyttymisen johdosta: ilmainen pysäköinti, vastaanotto auki ympäri vuorokauden ja ilmainen aamiainen.
Hotellin henkilökunta hyvin mukavaa. Aamiainen myös ihan hyvä. Lähitienoo on kaunista, sillä hotelli rannassa ja komean sillan vieressä. Mahdollisuus lenkkeilyyn.
Huoneessa kylpyhuone vaikutti uusitulta ja oli kaikin puolin hyvä. Pitkästä aikaa hotelli, josta löytyi huoneesta ihan normaalikokoinen roskis, yleensä hotellit väkipakolla yrittävät pakottaa ihmisiä käyttämään sellaisia minikokoisia roskiksia, jotka tulevat yhdestä isommasta roskasta täyteen, joten tästä täytyy nyt antaa tälle hotellille ihan kunniamaininta.

Finlandia Hotel Alban kaikki tilat olivat hyvin siistejä, henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja palvelualtista. Huoneessa oli matkatavaroita varten iso lipasto ja ikkunan edessä pitkä työpöytä. Ehkä siksi 2 hengen huone tuntui hieman pieneltä, mutta huone oli kuitenkin lyhyeen tarpeeseen aivan sopiva. Hotelli on aivan Jyväsjärven rannassa, joten lenkkeilyyn on hyvät mahdollisuudet. Jyväsjärven voi kiertää lenkkeillen kevyelle liikenteelle rakennettua rantaraittia pitkin.
