LOVED the deep bathtub! Excellent breakfast offerings and good quality food. So much delicious variety! Everyone is super friendly and the location is good for walking to dinner. We dined at Bella Roma nearby, which was also a very good experience.

It was a great property. It does not have easy access for the front desk as you can not drive up to drop off bags.
But it is a great location, the staff were very friendly, and the room and beds were comfy. The hotel parking wasn’t very well organized either.

A tired experience

I had a one night stay on an October Sunday night.

Parking is easily accessible from the street and included.

The hotel is generally tired but very functional.

The bar and restaurant are closed on a Sunday evening. I got advice from reception, borrowed an umbrella and then walked 2-3 hundred metres into the restaurants / bars.

The rooms are warm / hot and it is difficult to regulate the room temperature and you cannot open the window.

Breakfast had a really good gluten free section and a pretty good buffet.

The hotel is really comfortable, the welcome genuine & lovely. Everyone was polite & the customer service excellent. The breakfast choice was huge, delicious & plentiful. Only small downside there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms with a coffee machine in reception, which is chargeable. The hotel is right next to everything, the station, restaurants & loads of shops. I would recommend the hotel to others.

Convenient walk from train station

Lovely helpful staff, close to bars and restaurants. I ate in the hotel restaurant and the Falafel burger and pear cider were both delicious. Good sized portions! This was very welcome after a long day of travelling. Rooms were comfortable, but my opinion is that overall the hotel needs some modernising to be considered 4 star. Would stay again though!!

Nice hotel downtown Jyvaskyla

Very quiet room, comfortable mattress and pillows, excellent buffet breakfast. We stayed for two nights, and on Friday the hotel was 100% full, but you would not know it. No lines, no noise from other rooms or the hallway.

Excellent lodgings in hte Heart of Jyvaskyla

Much to like about this hotel. A very well maintained, older hotel. Interior design was impressive, lots of real wood trim and classic doors.

Staff was very personable and helpful.

Breakfast was impressive - they have taken the time to consider diet needs for vegetarians and the glucose intolerant - so there are many options in the buffet - first time I have seen this in Nordic countries. Special foods for kids too.

We were visiting Finland from Australia. Stayed at Scandic on our way north to Lapland. We had one of the best meals during our holiday at the restaurant and breakfast was fabulous except the toaster was in need of replacement. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed again on our return to Helsinki.Once agin we ate in the restaurant and the meal was great.

Good location

One of the older more tired Scandic hotels, the location close to the railway station and town makes this an ideal choice for travellers. The rooms are basic and the hotel facilities are modest. The pub - The Colonial Club - does good food and is the perfect place to unwind.

Good hotel close to public transport

The hotel was very lean and comfortable. We didn't need a car to get around. We could walk everywhere in the city from the hotel. The hotel is just a short walk from the station and the bus stop - we used public transport to go further afield. Staff helpful in providing local knowledge.

It was a very good hotel. The room would have been much better with a bath, instead of just shower. The sauna is fantastic. They even have swimming pool. It is a very good hotel and I recommend it. I will come back again if I have to come to the same town.

For the price you pay for the hotel you would expect bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc., but all that was provided was the typical European squeeze bottle of soap/shampoo attached to the wall. My luggage didin't arrive with me and I had to purchase supplies (comb, razor, etc.) rather than being able to get them complimentary. Otherwise, hotel was fine.

Huone oli siisti, mutta saimme sen vasta klo 16.20 vaikka sisäänkirjautuminen on klo 16.00.
Huone haisi tunkkaiselta, josta sanoimme siivojalle, hän laittoi ilmastoinnin puhaltamaan.
Huoneeseen majoittui ennakkovarauksen yhteydessä ilmoittamamme kaksi aikuista ja kaksi lasta. Lapsille ei ollut omia kylpytakkeja, vaikka huoneistossa oli sauna ja hotellissa uima-allas. Suosittelen hankkimaan myös lapsille kylpytakkeja, ettei heidän tarvitse pyyhe päällä juoksennella hotellin aulassa uimaan.
Huoneessa oli kahvia, teetä ja kaakaota mikä oli hyvä, mutta sekoittamiseen tarvittavia lusikoita tai sekoitustikkuja mitä nykyään on, ei ollut ollenkaan.
Emme lähteneet niitä sunnuntai aamuna kyselemäänkään koska arvelin että siivoojat ovat hyvin ansaitsemalla tauolla.
Aamupala oli monipuolinen ja hyvä.
Samoin ruokaravintola on jossa illallisemme nautimme oli hyvä ja henkilökunta erittäin kohteliasta!
Vastaanoton henkilökunta oli myös ystävällistä ja auttavaista!

Kuitenkin huone oli todella hyvä ja etenkin ilmastointi toimi erinomaisesti.

Palaamme uudelleen

Palvelu oli saapuessa ja lähtiessä erittäin hyvä. Asiakaspalvelijat olivat todella mukavia. Lähtömme oli aamulla ennen aamupalaa ja saimme mukaan aamiais pussukat ja kahvit.
Huone oli siisti, mutta patjat olivat tosi pehmeät. Olemme tottuneet koviin patjoihin, koska miehelläni on selkä ongelmia. Emme edes huomanneet laittaa toivetta tilausta tehdessämme, joten tiedä vaikka sellaiset sängyt olisivat löytyneetkin. Mutta tämä oli oma syymme. Kaiken kaikkiaan erittäin mukava kokemus. Palaamme uudelleen.

Huone oli siisti, henkilökunta äärettömän ystävällistä ja ammattitaitoista. Ravintola toki kallis, mutta ruoka hintansa arvoista. Rauhallinen paikka yöpyä lapsen kanssa. Tämä kerta vain alleviivasi pitkäaikaisen mielipiteeni siitä, etten yövy muualla kuin Scandicin hotelleissa.

Tämän tasoisessa hotellissa ja huoneessa missä on kylpyamme puuttui kokonaan kylpysuola.
Televisio ja netti eivät toimineet ollenkaan aluksi, sitten pätlimisen jälkeen yhteys toimi jotenkin hetken aikaa, kunnes telkkari lakkasi toimimasta kokonaan.

Hotels.comin tiedoista poiketen standard huoneissa ei ole ammeellista vaihto ehtoa. Ainoastaan superior huoneissa. Onneksi huone luokan korotus onnistui sillä olin valinnut hotellin jossa olisi amme. Kiitoksia hotellin joustavuudesta. Ei mitään valittamista, huone oli siisti ja uusittu, aamupala hyvä riittävät perusjutut mutta kuitenkin parempi kuin monissa muissa.

Hotellin ravintolat ovat hyvin rajoitetusti auki. Mutta kun sinne onnistuu pääsemään, ruoka ja palvelu ovat kyllä erinomaisia. Aamiainen on aika skaalattu konsepti ja sitä sekä me, että vieraamme hieman ihmettelimme.

Perheemme oli erittäin tyytyväinen hotelliin. Huoneemme olivat verittäin väljät, siistit ja tyylikkäät. Lapset nauttivat huoneensa kylpyammeesta ja hotellin leikkihuoneesta. Toinen huoneista oli esteetön. Aamiaistarjonta oli loistava. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Hotellin sijainti oli erittäin hyvä myös. Täydet pisteet!
