The hotel is in a run down area, far out from the city center.

Staff are polite but lack enthusiasm. The breakfast is cold and basic. What's supposed to be hot food is lukewarm, pots kept warm by a glow candle underneath.

Dinner service is OK,the staff lack enthusiasm here as well,managed by some little man manager called Evil. He walks around with alcohol in hand, in a poor quality 'suit' with no regard to the team or guests. He is what lets the place down.

If anyone ever needs to have dinner, I recommend the corner shop up the road,the hotel will provide hot water for your pot noodle. Alot better than the cold pasta and chunky chips they serve.

House keeping is the one area that is excellent. The house keeping staff and manager are polite and thorough.

The place is cheap for a reason. Evil the manager needs to remember he is there to serve customers not drown in free alcohol.

Technically the property is one or two bus rides from the major sights, but it is a 45 minute bus ride and has no direct connection to any airport aside from a cab. It is situated in a small town with a handful of decent dining options including a Cuban restaurant that is practically across the street. The food at the Cuban restaurant is excellent as is the decor. It felt like it is run by two people, the server/bartender/host and a chef. Being half Cuban, the food was good.

The breakfast at the hotel was a slightly dressed up continental with decent options but the juice and coffee dispensers make it a decent meal.

Our room required a key to unlock the air conditioning and entryway lights. You cannot have one without the other unless the front desk unlocks these features for you. Calling the front desk to turn on the lights after a long day of running around is tiring. I’m not sure if the person working the bar was the bartender or the head of food and beverage because they were working the breakfast service as if they were manager. Good service, but the drinks were off.

The outside looks great, staff is nice, but we had housekeeping walk in on us twice (no knock, knock and unlock immediately) that caused a bit of embarrassment. Also the outside and lobby looks great but the room had issues for repair such as wallpaper splitting and water damage in the bathroom.

Don’t let the bad reviews scare you off. Lobby, bar and rooms are all clean. Pool area is cleaned regularly and the water is pristine. Beds are hard, pillows are thin. I slept fine though! Staff are friendly and helpful. Safes in the room, empty minibar and air conditioning works. Would definitely stay again.

Booked a triple room for 3 nights. The extra cot came with no duvet.
No room service and no kettle or water bottles provided.
One of the staff advised the water from toilet tap is drinkable. Had to pay for bottles on first night, refilled from tap from day 2.

Got charged €67 for city tax.

Positives: nice and helpful staff
Buffet breakfast and good dinner service availabl4 at extra cost.
Receptionist offered to store luggage after check out.

The only good part of the property was the friendly ladies at the front desk during the evening. The hotel is dirty and smells. What was most deceiving is that it list an airport shuttle service which is why I booked the hotel in the first place (and I was looking for a 4-star hotel - which this is not). Turns out they only run a shuttle from the airport to the hotel at 7:00AM. There is no other airport shuttle during the rest of the day.

The property was reasonably clean,the best service was breakfast in the mornings the staff were always friendly,polite and were very efficient.
Some of the staff behind the desk I found were sometimes not very friendly and quite rude,I can honestly say that there were two staff that were friendly and polite.
On the 4th day of my stay I found some paper in the foot of my bed which were old emails dated March 2019,I brought it to the attention of the staff who brushed it off and said they would change my sheets and actually they never apologised.
On the last day after I checked out I sat waiting for my taxi,my 2 year old son was crying as he had a bellyache a lady came over to me from behind the desk and asked me to keep him quiet as they can’t hear the phone,a man then came out around 10minutes later again so I left and waited outside.
I find this behaviour of the staff members completely unprofessional and unacceptable they had no idea why he was crying,but then when I complained about the noise which happened at 3.45am on the day we arrived (Wednesday 21st August) they did nothing about it,people were fighting in the corridors,screaming and shouting.

I liked the property and the staff was very nice and helpful. I didn’t like how we paid extra for the pool but couldn’t use it because there were too many people. Also, first day we used the shuttle, we were dropped off at the metro only to find that that part was closed. We were stuck in an area and didn’t know where to go or what to do. Figured the staff should have known this. I thought the shuttle driver was rude also. With all that, I would still go back there again. Good staff, safe area and all around nice place.

I don't generally write these, but this hotel is not the most appropriate and is misleading.

This hotel on booking, indicated breakfast included as well as pool included. Additionally it indicated it was within close proximity to all the main attractions. This was not the case at all. Upon arrival to the hotel we were informed we would be chart 10 euro per person per morning for breakfast and if we wanted to use the pool there was also an additional fee. Weekends the fee was increased for pool use.

The only positive comment I can really make is that this hotel was within walking distance to an amazing little diner with amazing food and prices. I highly recommend the little restaurant down the street from this hotel but would definitely stay elsewhere for accommodations.

They offer a shuttle to the subway except he dropped us off with the subway being closed for the 2 weeks. Apparently, this is very well known in Rome about this closure. We were left on the side of the road with no transportation and no knowledge of how to get anywhere. A city bus came along and saw about a dozen stranded tourists and let us on his bus despite having no tickets. Thankful to the kind bus driver.

The beds are very uncomfortable and you can feel the springs poking you. Upon arrival our safe did not work, we contacted the front desk and were told someone would be up. We were there 9 days and nobody every came to replace the batteries so it could function.

The pictures of the rooms they show are ONLY for the suites and the \"superior room\" is basically a standard room on the 3rd or 4th floor. The place is incredibly humid and it smells of mold. The windows may not always be water-resistant, the tub pipes are often clogged and I had to buy the liquid to unclog them myself, and some of the staff at reception are incredibly, incredibly, incredibly rude. The breakfast is a rip-off, the quality of food is terrible and you get more stuff at a Caritas buffet. ABSOLUTELY TO AVOID!!!

Me and my boyfriend’s room had a loud beeping noise and it took 3 1/2 hours wait and 4 calls to reception to finally get matters taken into place. Some reception staff were quite rude towards us rolling their eyes and clearly annoyed at our presence (e.g. asking for directions, clean toiletries etc). Not all staff was rude but many looked displeased with our presence. For the hotels location we used the 118 bus only 5 min walk from hotel , 20/30 min drive into central Rome.

The people that work here are nice but you have to pay to use the swimming pool. If you order food downstairs they will not let you bring it up unless you want it delivered to your room for 8 euros. Even for pizza. I had to wait 30 minutes for my room to be ready the day i got here and it was never fully cleaned. I was getying charged extra for breakfast as if everyone in my room was eating but only two of us would go downstairs for breakfast. I asked 2 days in a row to get my refrigerator fixed and it never was so i had to keep buying water at hotel for it to be cold. Theres only one room for ironing and the key was missing after my second day here so i gave up and had to buy one. The carpets in room were dirty the ceiling has stains from water leaks. Curtain was ripped. Beds are stiff and pillows also.

Arrived to find a protest taking place outside the hotel, even more surprised to note quite a few well armed police in attendance. No clear signage made it impossible to find reception,I called the hotel but they never answered the phone. Eventually one of our party walked in and found out where to check in. I have a disability, and the hotel provides no disability parking bays.The staff are rude, and when I requested to see the manager, I was told to come back tomorrow.
The hotel is far from 4 star, the hotel grounds are dirty and full of rubbish as was the driveway into the underground car park. The lift foyer in the car park was filthy, the hallway carpet s were heavily stained and the walls marked.
The room was clean, but had no wardrobe, drawers or shelves for clothing, a safe as was advertised but not supplied and the toilet flush was hanging off the wall.
During our 2 night stay the only staff member who spoke to us was a maintenance man.
As for the rest of the staff we may as well not existed. Upon checking out, no enquiry was made as to our stay, and if everything met our requirements, this may have been because the staff member checking us out decided to answer the. Telephone, and carry on a conversation leaving me standing there.
On the whole a poorly maintained, poorly managed hotel in a rather unsafe area.

The reception staff were friendly & helpful, even giving us a map of Rome centre and transport information, including where to buy our bus passes. The hotel appears to have a shuttle service, which also provides airport transfers (5 euros per person each way) - I wish we had known about this before I had paid in advance for private transfers.

Hotel decor a little dated, but clean and comfortable. The air-con system in the room was set up, and I couldn't change it. I prefer to open the windows, but the cleaners kept closing these. Nice large bed, only one pillow each, but asked for another and this was brought up straight away. Safe and fridge in the room, however, it would have been good to have had hot drinks facilities too.

Nice to have a continuous supply of toiletries in the room. Hairdryer attached to the bathroom wall, not so good, and every time I used it I knocked the phone off the hook - still don't understand why there was a phone in the bathroom? Also be careful, I pulled a white drawstring expecting it to be an extractor fan and instead set off a very loud panic alarm, no one came thankfully, I think they may have had more of a shock than me!

Initially not too impressed by the area the hotel is in, about 50 minutes from the centre, however, it was quiet & we didn't mind using the bus. There are some nice restaurants nearby too - no English. Only ate breakfast in the hotel which was nice, plenty of it, just not hot enough - they need warm plates! Would return!

All of the beds in our connecting rooms weren’t very firm. The noise isolation from outside the halllway wasn’t good. People's conversations could be easily heard as they passed by the rooms.
Other than that this hotel was very good. The location within a 10 min walk to bus stops going to the Colosseum or metro station.

I loved that it was on the outskirts of Rome and we were able to go to local supermarkets and restaurants to get a truly authentic trip to Italy.

The only complaint I have is that the roof garden they advertise is not there. I believe they will get around to putting that together.

Far from all the attractions, in fact some taxis refused to take us there. It is in a residential area so nowhere nearby to eat, shop or visit.
Staff was friendly but did not go out of their way to be helpful. Everything was clean but small things like replacing the used cups in the bathroom were haphazard.
No fan or non functional fan in the bathroom meant that even a fast shower (2-3 minute) created an unsafe space since the floor is smooth tile.
Wallpaper peeling (edges), loose tile outside, poor exterior lighting and peeling ceiling paint in he lobby.
Great bartender, she remembered us after one order!
Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel.

Extremely bad. No air conditioning for 2 days. It could have been much better has the manager been available earlier. She was nice and accommodating but the damage had been done.

Hot water could only be obtained at the bar. Ironing only possible in a specific room. Both these did not suit us at all. A kettle is a bare minimum these days in the hotels.

I chose this hotel because it had a pool so the we could have a relaxing day after several days of intense walking round all that Rome has to offer. I was very annoyed to discover that it was closed for the season even though it was still 24’C most days and very sunny. If I’d known this I would have chosen a hotel considerably closer to the city centre to save on the daily drama of minibuses and metro trains.

Okay for business trips

The hotel we originally booked for our 5 nights in Rome cancelled our booking at fairly short notice. Hotel Capannelle was one of the few which then had availability for our dates of travel. Our room wasn’t ready (we had arrived before the 2pm check in time) and were told about an hour. After waiting nearly 2 hours we were told our room was ready and given our key. Arrived upstairs to find the cleaner still cleaning the room.
Room itself was okay except for the following: the plug in the sink didn’t fit properly so if you tried to fill the sink for a wash the water just drained away; you couldn’t have a bath because the bath had no plug at all; wallpaper was peeling away from round the window and had been stuck down with masking tape.
We tried twice to have breakfast delivered to the room but on both occasions the card wasn’t collected so we had to go down to breakfast. The hotel provides a shuttle bus service to take you to the nearest metro station. It costs €2 per person each way. The bus is cramped and smelt of car fumes each time we used it.
They charge extra for guests to use their pool.
The same limited menu in the restaurant each night and despite the limited choice to begin with several dishes were then also not available.
Definitely more focussed on catering for the corporate visitor staying just a couple of nights rather than holiday travellers.

Hotel made me wait 2 hours to check in despite turning up on time with family after long flight. Had to again go up and ask several times when the room will be ready . Hotel is too far from city and in the middle of nowhere . Probably a good hotel for local residents but not for tourists who do not have their own travel . Really disappointed with this booking .

Hotel is about 30 minutes from FCO airport by car and roughly 1 hr by public transport. Very nice local resturants around the hotel and there's mini supermarket too close by. We liked everything about the hotel, the staff were helpfull and friendly, nice breakfast , there are additional charges if you want to use hotel swimming pool. Hotel have shuttle service which is really good they drop you off to the nearest metro station ( €2 return trip pp). Overall we were very pleased with the hotel.

Too many hidden costs and bad nights sleep

When we arrived at the hotel at approx 12:00 we had a few hours before our room was ready so decided to go to the pool however was informed that we had to pay for the use of the hotel pool and it was €6 each for half a day. We went to the pool at 12:30 and paid €6 each and checked that we could stay until 18:00 and was told we could- at 14:00 we were told our half day was up and had to leave the pool- so spent £12 for 90 minutes in the pool- when we spoke to the manager at the desk we were told it was so other people could use the pool however no one else was at the pool or waiting to get in. The only way to get into Rome is by rickety old buses from the airport. On the night we were kept up all night by the loud air con which frequently made noises all night despite turning it off and it not actually blowing out cold air. When we went to check out we were told we owed €12 city tax- however when staying in an air bnb a week earlier we never had to pay this and we weren’t aware of the extra fee. All in all we had an awful nights sleep and ended up paying €25 more then expected! Wouldn’t recommend a stay here!

Run down hotel in a questionable part of town. You can tell that they haven’t done renovations in quite some time just by walking down the hallways and seeing the large stains everywhere. Our experience was not terrible but I also wasn’t impressed even a little bit. The menus left in your rooms are translated to English which was very helpful but it states that the continental breakfast is included in the price of your room....wrong! We asked the front desk about this and they said we had to pay for breakfast? Ok, that’s fine we moved on. They say that they have 24 hour desk service for all our needs but were not helpful at all when it came to directions or suggestions, never offered to book anything for us. We asked a gentleman about a flea market we could visit and he suggested one which would be a 20 minute bus ride away-awesome we were excited! We show up and it was closed that day....kind of thought he might mention that. This hotel does not offer shuttle service to the airport for international visitors, only the local airport for domestic flights and we were so far from the sites that we became experts on local transit to get ourselves there. The one upside to this hotel is that the restaurants located nearby are not overrun with tourists since it’s so far outside the main city and they have delicious authentic food. I would love to come back to Italy but i won’t stay here again.

Friendly Staff but....

I can't believe the condition of the rooms! I booked 7 rooms and all of them had torn curtains, peeling paint, stains on carpets, and worn out tubs. The only pleasant area is the lobby and the bar area. It needs a total re-haul.

Really clean hotel just outside of the city

The location of the hotel, whilst quite far from the city, is actually not that bad. We took the 654 bus from the bus stop just down the road to Colli Albani station, and then it's a few stops on the tube to the centre of Rome. Buses do turn up but they aren't reliable on timing.

Hotel staff - some pleasant, others not. Might have been the language barrier but sometimes we didn't even get a hello.

The other annoying thing is the pool charge. We came prepared and new about this before arriving but I still think it's ridiculous to have to pay 9 euros for a day by the pool. We went to the beach instead.

There's a roof \"garden\" on the 5th floor. Not a garden, just a roof. But it has a really beautiful view of Rome.

A bit disappointing

I am disappointed, not sure if is the hotel´s fault or Expedia. My wife and I were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary, and chose this hotel specifically for the swimming pool as we wanted few relaxing days near the pool, sunbathing and reading a book, when we asked to use the facilities we were told that the pool was closed and didn't even allowed us to seat near it, so frustrating. We asked to talk to the manager and he told us that the pool was to be open the 1rst of June, and that Expedia should let the customers know, when I reviewed my Expedia confirmation it only says that the hotel may charge for the use of the swimming pool but nothing about being closed.

Bad experience!

As for the distance from the hotel to the city, it was our fault that we didn't double check it on the map.
Some of the staff were good but some other staff were very rude.
There's no water heater in the room to make coffee, in a four stars hotel?
When we asked for mugs with hot water to make coffee, 'coffee that we brought', they were very rude with us as if we were staying at the hotel for free.
We asked for a scale to weigh our luggage bags, the answer was :\"sorry but other customers broke the scale so we don't have one.\"
You cannot put the air conditioner as you want, you need to call the reception every time you want change the temperature, and they change it from their place.
The rooms were clean. The room service was good as well.
But definitely i do not recommend it!

Airport shuttle service

They only have two times that they offer free hotel shuttle, one at 7am other at 4pm. On Expedia website it says FREE shuttle service. If you take a cab from airport expect to pay 30 Eruo:( the hotel says that's to much, but that's the price I got:(
Add 30 Eruo when disciding on this hotel,also no free breakfast. Two times a day is not acceptable when you post free airport shuttle service.

Half of the lights were not working, after calling the reception three times, got an answer \"we have a lot of work, so you have to wait\". There was no kettle in the room, no arrangements for tea or anything. Air conditioning was off. Not a very comfortable stay all-in-all, also the location is remote.

Clean, but lacking customer service skills.

The Front desk staff was very rude throughout my stay. Even during my process of checking out a guest was having a disagreement about something and all 3 front desk staff were so busy arguing with her that by the time they even acknowledged me and gave me my receipt, my meter on my Taxi was at 18.50 before we left the driveway.

The hotel was very busy, reception service wait time is high. It is a very new hotel, rooms are big and relatively clean. It is quite far from the city center but bus and Metro is quite convenient. You should plan for 1 hour travel time at least into the city. Local buses to take are 663, 664, 654 to Metro station. 118 to Colosseum. It is good hotel for the price.

It was awful....

I'm trying to get a hold of the Manager with our concerns They put us in a room with shower curtain, frig didn't work.we told them on day1 day2 day3 finally fixed it the day before we left. They didn't care one bit.When we took a shower water was all over the bathroom floor.slip an slide. I well try to get some kind of refund. They need to chance. Very disappointing.

The hotel is self wasn't to bad apart from the split mattress the flaking roof paint in the room. Hotel staff in the restaurant were not the most helpful. Breakfast was very limited for 9 euros per person and not very well cooked .

Room ok quite large with all facilities except tea and coffee making. Bathroom fine and very clean with plenty of cosmetics.Heating/aircon system with control in room good. Generally, hotel could do with facelift.

Nice hotel- needs some renovations though

Staff were nice, some areas need a renovation, the beds were on the firm side so be prepared for a harder bed. It's worth adding the free breakfast to your booking or choosing the rate that has the breakfast included. The trek into the city centre isn't hard to do but it's is a good 35-40 minutes by bus.

the hotel is nice and clean,hotel staff was very helpfull ..room was nice and big,,always clean,,iron board is there but you have to ask for it...to go to the town take bus 118 takes you straight to the coloseum and from there you can walk everywhere...good is to take bus pass,there is also small shop near hotel..
