Put a pillow up to block the light

There is a small window facing the outside hallway in the apartment. When people walk in the hallway at night the hallway lights are turned on and wakes you up because the light are so bright. I mentioned to the person running the show, not reception, that it would be nice to put a small curtain up for future guests. I was told \"put a pillow up to block the light\" - really put a pillow up - they do not like being told how to improve for future people not being inconvenienced.

Good location a short walk from the metro station. Friendly receptionists. Room was clean and had a good amount of space with kitchen facilities. Plenty of glassware also provided. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night even though the surrounding area was really good for nightlife. Only problem was that the keys could be difficult to use, but reception did warn us about this and gave us a way to make them open the door.

I enjoyed that the property was quiet and had an inner courtyard of sorts, though the view looking out of my apartment was of a building site ( which the owners obviously were not responsible for). The apartment location is easy to miss as Google maps took me to the street behind the building. It would have been nice to have some basic amenities in the apartment, such as dishwashing liquid, some tea bags or coffee especially as travellers like myself might be coming in late at night. The night porter and the day reception were both friendly and helpful as much as possible.

We had a very hard time getting a hold of anyone at this hotel. It stated you had to check in by 7pm so when we realized we would be late we were panicking and tried to contact them, but no answer. Little did we know that you could still check in after 7pm just a different way. This should have been noted in their check in policy and someone should have answered our emails and phone calls. So we didn’t have a good start to our stay here. The place itself was fine. No air conditioning and not enough fans. And because of this we had to open the windows which was annoying because the people who live/were staying in the building were very loud and obnoxious all night. Location is close to restaurants and shops.

The door key was difficult to use. The maids came halfway through and left it unlocked. My A/C unit make this very loud squeaky noise so I’d run it during the day at a low temp while I was gone then keep it off at night or I couldn’t sleep.

Worst of all, the Wi-Fi was down for 4/6 of the days I was there. When I said something the response was ‘we can’t do anything about that’. Which I get, you don’t own the internet company but that’s HUGE for many people. Don’t act like you don’t care. I was working while in Budapest and ended up having to spend my days in coffee shops because the apartment I paid for had no internet.

The hotel is in a lovely block, conveniently close to the centre. The room was spacious and great to have a kitchen area.
Unfortunately, there are bars opposite and people were noisy at all times. The sheets were a little small for the beds and the shower leaked.

The oven was dirty also the kettle. Apartment was clean and tidy itself.
Had to use a key in a broken lock, it did lock after a lot of fiddling about.
The staff not very helpful with regards to my shuttle pickup either had to find my own way to hotel.

Overall, great room, great location

The room is very close to the nearby metro station. It is also relatively accessible in regards to the bus to the airport. The room was large and very well decorated and homely. It felt very comfortable within the room, but my room was at the end of a corridor that was quite dark (for some reason the nearest light switch was pretty far in). The staff were friendly overall, but I feel like they missed our room (in terms of cleaning), which was okay cause I only stayed about 5 days (but they said that the rooms would be cleaned every third day).

This apartment is located in a great area, nearby a metro station. It is above a bar/restaurant, but there didn't seem to be any noise from it at night. There was a washing machine in the room. The shower set up is one where you have to hold the shower head, which is just annoying.

The apartment was divided into the kitchen/bathroom area and the bedroom area. The wifi only worked in the bedroom area, which was inconvenient.

The key to our room was the absolute worst key I have ever experienced. It was incredible difficult to open the door from either side, and we almost got stuck in the room once. There are marks around the keyhole that tell us we weren't the only ones with this problem.

The room was very warm and there was no air conditioning so the windows needed to be open. There were people in other rooms yelling at people in the streets all night. There is also a busy restaurant downstairs that has people outside very late. We had no sleep and the noise was still going on when we left for the airport in the morning. The apartment was clean and the check-in staff was good. We left a night early and their policy is no cancellation so our noisy night with no sleep ended up being very expensive. We definitely don’t recommend it.

Stayed here for only one night in a studio apartment. Check-in was fast and the staff very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was a tad dated but extremely spacious with kitchenette and balcony. Everything was clean and the bed comfortable. The local area was awash in excellent restaurants and bars! :-) Also, it is easily walkable from the Blaha Luzja ter Metro #2 line.

Great location & Great Hotel

This place is located in a perfect location right where plenty of the bars and restaurants are. Even to walk to city centre and to the river was only 20 mins with plenty to do inbetween if you want a stop off. The hotel was top notch for us too. We stayed with our 1 year old and the apartment was very spacious and clean with all the bits and bobs to make a few extra things or midnight pizza. When we arrived we asked for a cot which was there within 5 mins and the lady came in and put it up for us. Even left him a cute baby blanket and pillow. We loved Budapest so much and will be coming back. When we do, we will stay here again.

Nice hotel within walking distance to everything

We stayed here twice during our stay in Budapest. It is a great hotel for the price and pretty much within walking distance to most everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are large apartment style rooms adequately appointed, good for families of 5. Ours had a kitchen and even a clothes washing machine. I would stay there again if ever in Budapest, although it can be noisy on the street side due to late night revelers.

The location is very nice and close to public transportation. check in was very nice and informative. The apartment was very run down, dirty and loud. There was hair and dirt in the corners of the rooms and i am not certain the bedding was clean. It is located above a bar/restaurant which was open late every night with questionable customers. For young singles looking for a cheap stay, it would be ok.

We found the hotel easily from the airport. Good location in Budapest, within walking distance of bars, restaurants and the Danube. Metro and trams, buses a mere 5 mins walk. We had a studio apartment which was well laid out. Good kitchen and bathroom. Washing machine. Comfy bed. Cleaners came in every day. Hotel staff were helpful and plenty of information in reception with leaflets and maps. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Good for the price!

It was a good location as most sights were only 15-20 min. Walking distance, the staff were all helpful, subway and buses nearby. We use the red Hop-on-Hop off buses which worked great for getting around, you can get tickets at the bus. Felt safe in the neighbourhood.

The check-in staff were courteous and extremely helpful. I had arranged for airport pickup and the driver was there on-time and waiting. The room was large and had a fully equipped kitchen but with the variety of restaurants in the area I had little use for the kitchen. I was disappointed that the television did not offer any English language stations and I had a little trouble with the internet which was spotty at times but for the most part it worked.

It was a quick stay but it was a nice apartment even just went there to sleep a night and was out all day. Good that you can leave cases there safe.And picked them up later in the evening. Very homely atmosphere. 3000FT deposit for key is a bit much my husband thought but you get it back when you leaving. Very safe doors. Liked it very much. Heating in room. Slept very well, comfy bed.

The hotel itself is in a noisy place with lots of bar surrounding it. It is quite uncomfortable walking in the street at night. The hotel room was not clean, we could hear the noises from outside even from the fifth floor. Every footstep was heard in the corridor. I would not recommend this hotel to stay next time.

I would recommend these apartments for leisure travellers who are looking to stay on a budget but value their space and want a great location.
Alright, the surrounding area could be better but if you want lively nightlife you expect a few lively characters in return.
The facilities are good for self catering and the rooms are pretty spacious. There was a slight difference in size between the two we booked but even the smaller was bigger than anticipated.

The apt. was quite nice, however there is no way to know how to get in until you are actually in the hotel. Luckily, some people were leaving the building and let us in. We did the same for others. When we inquired at the reception desk, they told us that if we pressed #5 they would ring us in. However, we were not told this when I booked the hotel. The rooms were nice and comfortable, however the person at reception accidentally put us in a room that had not yet been cleaned. They did come in to clean when we called them. Staff at reception was friendly and helpful. Hotel was fairly well located, about a brisk 15-20 minute walk to key sights. The block and immediate surrounding area was safe , but not necessarily very pretty, but it was very close to the metro. Overall, good value for the money

My room was on the 1/F with windows opening to the main street. There are a few bars and resturants right below the hotel. You can imagine that the noise started before 8pm and it didn't die down until after 1 - 2a.m. The curtains are very thin and can't block the street light shining straight through to the room. The room free wifi was a hit or miss. Hotel towels were changed once in three days. On the whole, a clean hotel and good value for money, if all the above down sides are fine by you.

The only thing I didn't like, was asking questions to a few of the people that worked there. Some were extremely nice, and some looked like they had much better tings to do.. BUt the room was very big, and clean and the beds were comfy.. Went on a 2 week eastern europe trip and this might have been the nicest place I stayed in. It is in a great location, and when I go back to budapest, Ill stay there again without question.. You will spend more for less going somewhere else..

Hotel receptionists were very kind and helped with all our needs,spoke good english. The actual apartment is very large I was with my wife and she felt like at home!!As I said it was a large apartment for 4 people they did not have a two person apartment awailable so we got this one for the same price!! Big leaving room downstairs with kitchen and all the silver wear and pots and pans ,glasswear,plates and cups,microwave,toaster,oven , empty fridge ,buy all your groceries and feel like home and save a lot on breakfast,dinner,supper and even trow parties with your friends,Also had washer and clothes dryer rack. big balcony with table an chairs for outdoor relaxation .Air condition for extra charge!! In all very happy.

Clean, spacious, modern and comfortable. Not a vast range of mugs/kitchen equipment, but basics are there, and there are many supermarkets and eating places nearby, so not an issue if you only want simple food at the hotel. Easy walk into city centre. Only one hand towel for sharing, but bath towel each, plenty of cleaning materials (no sink plugs as common in much of Europe!). Only downside was street noise at night, city seems to be active 24hrs, so this is probably same in many places. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Would use again.

We have booked the room via internet and arrived by car. It was already strange to find the reception desk which is, unlike normal hotels, behind closed doors. The young lady behind the desk asked me about the reservation \"voucher\" which I wondered what it is. So I offered the reservation number but it was not enough for her insisting she finally gave us the key with €10 as deposit. At Hotel.com it said that parking will be charged for 1100 Florin per day. But she told us that the parking is full she has no idea how much it would cost at the parking which we though \"is the hotel parking\". The room is big but the kitchen table was covered with plastic table cloth with pattern from the 70s. When we want to go out for dinner by car, i spent 30 min to explain with the parking guard who spoke barely English. Finally we have a 50% discount. The normal price is 140 Florin per 30 min from 8AM-11PM and 90 Florin per 30 min between 11PM and 8AM or we can pay in advance for 4200Florin per day!

So do not use this hotel if you come by car, it will cost you as much as staying in a downtown parking house!

It is also shocking to find on the door warning signs that we should close the door and not leave valuables in the room to avoid \"BURGLARS\"!

We were asking ourselves where we have landed.

On the bath room door it was noted that towers will be replace every three days to protect the environment!

My suggestion is to avoid this hotel!

Very nice place.

No problem checking in at 3 AM. The apartmen is very good size. It had a loft up with two twin beds and a bedroom with queen size bed. Downstairs it has a big living room with queen size sofa bed and six seat dining room set next to the kitchen. Nice size balcony. It has hald bath downstairs and full bath up. Super comfortable for a family stay, this is why I rebooked for anothier night. The place very conveniently located, a minute walk to Metro, or Burger King, Mc Donald, shopping center with supermarket, oher restaurant. The area is safe not like someone described. Of course dont be non caring. It has a parking garage under groung next to the building with access to the building form the garage for 11 Euro a day. Anyway, book wih no fear, you will not be dissapointed.

After reading other reviews, we weren't suprised by the overall condition of the hotel. As others had written, the street out front was extremely noisy until very late at night - but that didn't bother us as we were on vacation and didn't need to be up at a certain time in the morning. Our room was directly beside the hotel office and the windows opened onto the street. If we were to go again, I would ask for a unit facing the courtyard - if the unit had the same amenities as the one we had - apparently there are different types of apartments available. We are a family of four (2 adults, two kids aged 11 and 8) and the place was the perfect size for us. A separate bedroom had a double bed, and the living room had a pull out couch and single bed. The kitchen came equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker and basic cooking utensils. We made use of this quite a bit as we were there for almost two weeks, and saved some cash doing some of our own cooking. We were within a five minute walk of two or three grocery stores, the metro, and several fast food restaurants that provided good, cheap food. As others have written, the Pizza King restaurant across the road was convenient, cheap and opened late. The hotel staff was friendly, and provided information as to where to find things, how to book a taxi to get back to the airport, etc. Towels were changed every three days, and bathroom tissue was replenished daily as needed.

Very large, new, super clean and bright studio apartment decorated with IKEA furniture. Full kitchen with kitchen table. Great for staying more than a day or two. Located well and very close to public transportation. Street may seem a bit down, but really its fine. Note that this is an apartment building not a hotel so look for the entry system and they will buzz you in - desk was open 24/7.

Great place but not in the city centre

We're a group of 4 girls in our 20's. Agape was a great apartment but it's a little bit out. It's downtown Budapest rather than the city centre. There is a metro very close which was good. Great price apartment so we can't complain. But don't believe the reviews about it being in the heart of pubs etc. All the decent pubs and restaurants are in the city centre. It's only a 20 minute walk but we were under the impression from previous reviews that it was in the heart of the action.

This is not your typical hotel you see in the states. These rooms are mainly long term apartments with a kitchen, utensils, silverware, minifridge, toaster, and eating area. Room came with a tiny balcony overlooking the street. Rooms are clean, no maid service until the 3rd day but that is expected from a cheap price and no need unless you make a mess. Beds are low to the ground which actually make it easy to get up from.

The reception is in the apartment building shown by a small sign outside, they are on the 1st floor ground being 0. Their English is very good, nice, and patient with our inquiries. Although the elevators are tiny and cannot accommodate that much weight so if you have heavy luggage your group may need to take separate elevators, 2 are there. Indoor gated parking garage is next door and cheap which you should get as there is little to no parking on the narrow streets. I walked around the neighborhood and there are a lot of condemned buildings, the ones that were open looked a little shady so I drove instead the other times. Just don't go walking around at night as you would with other places.

The place looks fairly new as they were still installing cables in the walls which made quite a bit of noise in the morning with their drilling. I would recommend staying at this apartment if you want a simple room to stay in for dirt cheap with clean beds and showers. Consistently excellent

We've stayed at Agape several times, sometimes for one night, sometimes for several days. We've never had a complaint, except that the beds tend to be a bit soft. The kitchens always have all necessary dishes, there's always a coffee maker and fridge, and sometimes there's even a toaster. (By the way, there's a grocery store called Match at Blaha Lujza ter). Be warned that you should bring at least some cash to the check-in because there is a 3000 HUF (~$15) deposit for the key, as well as deposits for things like hair dryers. The location is convenient to the red line, and there are bars and restaurants and landmarks nearby. The staff is always extremely friendly, and they all speak English, in our experience.

Home away from home in Budapest

Great Location, a perfect little apartment right out of IKEA, clean and neat. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Some of the flats face a street that can be noisy. Be certain to request a quiet one.

Pleasantly Surprised

Having bagged a bargain for the Agape Apartment Hotel, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to a lovely and clean apartment. Agape was located one street away from the metro and bus stations but you could easily walk in 10mins to get to a range of different attactions. The Apartment staff were friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend

You can tell that Agape apartments are new and they're planning to expand further- there is building work going on although this is by no means a hindrance. The apartments are spacious and new - decked out in all things IKEA. The kitchen is particularly well-stocked - fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee makers, utensils and loads of cupboard space.

The location of the apartments make them very accessible - about 5 mins away from the tram (no 4/6), bus (no 74) and metro stations (Blaha Luzja on the red line) so easy to get into the centre, although you could walk this to Parliament/river in 20minutes.

Supermarkets nearby to stock up on provisions and eateries - opposite is a pizza place, downstairs a cafe for breakfast and if you fancy a curry is only 5mins down Akacfa Ut.

All in all, cheap clean spacious and accessible.

Great apartments in a great area

You have to ring up to the reception, but, contrary to signage, the reception is 24/7, you just can't see them from the street since they're upstairs in apartment 111.

It's an apartment building that does short-term rentals, so we found it very spacious, had a kitchenette with stove top, fridge, microwave and coffee pot.

We even had a small outdoor deck.

Nice area with lots of bars and restarants in the immedidate area. (I highly recommend Rosa) very close to the train station, other transit (Metro, bus) and close enough to walk all around central Budapest.

It's not the four seasons. There's no room service, but I'd recommend this to any traveler.

impressive door lock

the apartment that we stayed in, is a sweet and very clean one room apartment, we are especially impressed by its highly secure door lock, which is so solid, just like those lock made for safety deposit. However it does get quite noisey, during late nite, as quite a few clubs and pubs around. We got confused by the notice on the main entrance, as it says 'reception closed at 7pm ...' it actually was a notice left by another company which share the same building, the hotel reception do open 24/7 and the staff are friendly.

Once we figured out how to get to this location, it turned out it was in a happening place in Budapest. The room was actually in a condo, and there was quite time that helped keep the noise down.

This is an apartment good for 3 people- a double bed and a pull out couch all which were comfortable. The separate kitchen has everything anyone would want- coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave, dishes, and usual appliances. Towels provided but the room is not serviced but we didn't care about that (they do come in and replenish the toilet paper). Our unit faced the street and there is a bar next door which gets quite noisy. Even on Sunday night there was lots of partying in the street until 2 am. The wireless internet was encrypted and the desk clerk did not know the password but she let us sit in the office to use a separate wireless connection- a little inconvenient if you need to get online. Otherwise, a great place for the price and located near Andrassy for restaurants. Laundry was a machine in the office with a charge of 4 Euros for one load and the machine was broken. The outside door is locked and you have to ring the office on the first floor to get in.

Nice, clean, secure- with no extras

We had a great time. We were very satisfied with everything, but its different than a hotel in the states. The room was nice with a full kitchen and the room was super clean. Hotel Pickup and dropoff are expensive, but you can use public transportation to get there from the airport. We paid to have the breakfast, which was a bowl of Musli, a roll, and a cup of coffee or tea. We felt very safe and were very satisfied.

La primera impresión no fue buena. La recepción es un cuchitril lleno de trastos. Los apartamentos están en un bloque donde hay pisos en propiedad, es decir, que no todo el bloque es de apartamentos turísticos. El desayuno lo ponen en el Ibis que hay en la misma calle. El apartamento en sí es bastante amplio y estaba limpio aunque el baño necesita una mejora. Está cerca de la zona turística, nosotros fuimos a pie a todas partes.

c'est l'emplacement qui prime !

Emplacement extra, en plein centre, proche des commerces, des transports (métro/tram ...) . L'appartement était assez propre. Bonne literie dans la chambre Dommage, il n'était pas équipé d'une machine à café (mais fourni par la suite par l'accueil). Pas de passoire, et casseroles trop petites pour 3/4 personnes, pas de couteau à pain ou de planche, bref peu d'ustensiles de cuisine : on mange donc souvent au \"resto\".

The room was not very modern and there was no air conditioning only two fans. Parkplace was under another building which made it harder to reach when we needed something from the car. I would say it is little overpriced for the service they provided.

Pros : Bien comido con tranvía y metro. Hay nevera que enfría rápido, microondas, los justo para cocinar (sartén, olla y cubiertos), la cama es cómoda y calefacción central.

Contra: La llave de la habitación es enorme y cuesta abrir la puerta. No limpian la habitación aunque se supone que más de 6 días tienes una limpieza incluida, te dan día y hora y no aparecen, nos quejamos, nos volvieron a dar hora y tampoco aparecieron por lo que tampoco cambian sábanas ni toallas. No disponen de los mínimos, no hay: Jabón, champú, papel de baño, productos de limpieza, trapos, lavavajillas, aceite, sal etc. Por lo que, sí pretendes cocinar, tendrás que comprar todos los mínimos para ello. Sí vais a estar muchos días OK, si no, deberéis comprar muchas cosas para hacer la estancia agradable. No sé puede fumar en todo el recinto, incluido la terraza bajo amenaza de multa de 100 euros.

En nuestro caso, demasiado ruido, la puerta de el salón no cerraba bien, la cocina y el baño sucio. Las almohadas se podrian cambiar estan demasiado desgastadas y por ultimo no hay utensilios de cocina.

La struttura si trova in buona posizione, a due passi dalla metropolitana M2. Questa è l’unica nota positiva. Il resto è tutto da cancellare: pulizia inesistente, muri scrostati, il terzo letto non era un divano letto come descritto ma un divano e basta. Per tutto il tempo del soggiorno (4notti) nessuno si è fatto vedere per chiedere qualsiasi cosa. La porta d’ingresso con la serratura difettosa. Insomma una struttura che non dovrebbe essere proposta come alloggio da nessuno ed ovviamente quando accadono questi eventi ci rimette anche Hotels.com.com che comincia a non garantire più qualità del servizio
