This is a family owned boutique hotel with about 16 rooms. Family is super friendly and will help with everything, where to go etc. It is quaint and super quiet and clean! Right on the ocean and outside of the Hotel zona. The fresh cooked hot breakfast is included and is AMAZING. There are no real sidewalks outside the hotel and it’s a bit outside the busy part of town; so you need to Uber into town or to the grocery store (La Comer is brand new and amazing food selection and is 6 min car ride). Rooms come w small fridge and MW. You can walk to beach restaurants on both sides of the hotel along the beach, food is delish! There are swim beaches about a 5 min uber ride- but out front is mostly for surfing. This is a super quiet chill hotel. If you want more action or people go to the bigger resorts. We found it relaxing here!

- Bring insect repellent. No screens on sliding doors or windows. I left covered in bites/welts. The other option is to keep the room closed up and run the AC, but who wants to do that with the ocean outside your door? You may as well go to Orlando.
- Shower heads and shower curtains need an upgrade. The heads are from the 70s and the curtains are industrial plastic with cheap plastic rings.
- An outdoor shower would be a welcome addition to the property as opposed to the shared plastic bin of water you step into to \"rinse\" your feet.
- Absopure (or similar) water dispensers would be another welcome addition instead of the plastic water bottles left in the room each day. I can't imagine how many thousands of water bottles are thrown out each year at this one small location. Wasteful and unnecessary.
-Overall, it's a budget hotel with a beachfront location.

We absolutely loved staying at this property! My husband and I could not have been happier! The location was like having a private beach! Our view was gorgeous and the hotel was perfect!! I would definitely recommend this property for a relaxing stay in San Jose del Cabo. It's perfect to walk along the beach and there are a few good spots for food nearby. The staff was friendly and attentive - great breakfast to start the day.
Like other reviewers mentioned, since it's so small, many cab drivers don't know it so they miss the entrance. I think that adds to the charm of the place.

My daughter and I had a beautiful Christmas week at Casa Costa Azul. We travel around the world and stay at many boutique hotels. We love smaller hotels over busy resorts. This hotel is small, quiet, private and away from the busy hotels. We felt like we had the beach and hotel all to ourselves. The hotel sits on the sand and we had an amazing view of the ocean. The beach is beautiful! The owners of the hotel were very kind. And helpful. My only complaint is that there are not many restaurants in walking distance but Flora Farms is not too far and we loved it and took food back to the hotel with us. It’s an easy uber ride. And the tour companies will not pick up at the hotel. But uber was easy. We felt safe the entire time.

Just spent 4 wonderful days at Casa Costa Azul hotel which sits right on the beach near San Jose del Cabo. It is a beautiful small (12 rooms) family owned and run hotel. It felt like we were staying in someone’s home. The owners Kristina and Jorge are delightful. They have created a very special place ,with so much attention to detail including a lovely made to order delicious breakfast each am.

This property is unique in it's surrounding are of larger and all inclusive hotels. It is small family owned hotel thta knows you by name. They care for a few hens, chicks, and a rooster and a family of small turtles. It is by far the cleanest facility I have ever visited. This and all hotels in this area are set right off the highway so it can be noisy but you can always choose to tune into the sound of ocean waves. It is set right on the beach so you're just steps away from the ocean. It's location is a 10 minute walk either direction on the beach to a restaurant. Be sure to visit a grocery store before you arrive as there are no healthy snack options near by. The TV is only a screen so be sure to bring your streaming device if you need your shows and movies. We were on the 4th floor, be prepared for toned buns and thighs as there is no elevator. The complimentary breakfast is a simple yet perfect selection with daily specials featuring eggs. Would visit again and highly recommend. My only wish is for a hot tub and a street facing sign as it can be hard to find as some ubers are not familiar with this location.

We can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and extremely clean. The view and access to the beach, unmatched. A private pool with quiet access to the beach, away from the fray of over developed Cabo. Our breakfast was to die for. And the proprietors were so friendly and helpful and welcoming. We will be coming back, as much as they will have us!

Trip was amazing- I couldn’t believe how clean the hotel was. It was so evident you were staying in a boutique hotel where owners cared about the guest experience. The location was amazing- you can walk along the beach or into town to get groceries, etc. Uber is roughly 100 pesos into San Jose Del Cabo Art district with amazing shopping, restaurants and cocktail bars. The family who owns the resort was so lovely and were the perfect hosts. The morning breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel is simple but great, exactly what we were looking for. This was our first time staying at Casa Costa Azul and we can’t wait to go back. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Exceptional boutique hotel. Highly recommend this place to stay in San Jose Del Cabo. Beautiful beachfront with amazing views. It is close to major grocery stores, a 15 minute drive to the historic area of San Jose, as well as only a 30-minute drive to and from the airport. It is also very easy to get to Cabo San Lucas. Delicious breakfast is offered and the hosts there are among the nicest people you will meet. A very enjoyable stay.

Peaceful, comfortable, and beautiful is how I would describe my stay at this family run hotel. It is right on the beach, and within walking distance to a few restaurants. Breakfast served in the morning is absolutely delicious. Fresh squeezed juices, daily specials, and melt in your mouth pancakes, are just a few things on the menu. The rooms are unique with gorgeous wood furniture specially made and designed by the owners. The bed was unbelievably comfortable and the sheets as soft as butter. I slept soundly with the ocean waves crashing in the background. I was on my own on this trip, however I felt like I was surrounded by family. I will return.

You’ve got a choice: You can stay at any of those huge resorts or condominiums on Costa Azul or you can stay at this wonderful family-owned and (most importantly) family-run hotel. We’re glad we chose the latter. Large spacious rooms (with real Mexican furniture) with gorgeous views, tidy grounds, stellar service, bounteous breakfasts, and hours of terrific conversations with one of the nicest families we have ever met. Really. We left and 10 minutes later we missed them already. Highly, highly recommended.

We wanted a beach front room without the wildness of Cabo San Lucas. This family-run out-of-the-way hotel a few miles from Cabo San Jose offers a nice beach access where we watched whales and surfers. You’ll need to rent a car, but they’ll arrange that it be brought to you. They’ll also recommend tours and activities without worry of commission selling. We found Cabo San Jose to be welcoming and authentic. The hotel serves a fresh and delicious breakfast and lunch and the service all around was excellent.

Breakfast came with our room and it was cook to order each day any delicious. The owners were welcoming and spent time with the guests daily. The resort is family owned and it’s a refreshing change to have people be so helpful with recommending restaurants, tours and knowledge of the area. We went on a tour and did a Camel ride and that was fun too. Great experience, highly recommend this resort.

This hotel was perfect! We were looking for a non-high-end resort with all the bells and whistle‘s… This hotel was absolutely gorgeous… Felt like you were in somebody’s personal Casa. The staff were great! SO glad we upgraded to a room facing the ocean though all rooms do have a view! Complimentary breakfast every day was much better than expected! This hotel is family run, with a small staff. They're all wonderful, very welcoming, and very helpful. It's right on the beach with a nice pool deck, and a garden with hammocks - great for relaxing. My one disappointment was that the wifi really only worked consistently in the lobby. Cellular service was good throughout, however.

Excellent family run boutique hotel
My girlfriend and I booked our first getaway and were looking for a low-key, well located place to stay. As an architect, design and aesthetics are important to me. We found the Casa Costa Azul to be the perfect blend of incredible location, wonderful staff, beautiful design and quiet privacy. We had an end room with a nice sized balcony overlooking the beach; we literally never closed the blinds and watched the sunrise every morning. Then I would grab my board and walk across the sand to the excellent surf break know as Zippers.
The hotel is family owned and run and we spent a lot of time chatting with one of the owners, Christine and her lovely daughter Georgina. They were welcoming, delightful, engaging and helpful.

Ah! Casa Cost Azul Hotel Boutique is a magical place. We stayed there for a week in March and had a wonderful time. The hotel is small with only 15 rooms. The location can't be beat! It's an easy shuttle or cab ride from the airport (under 30 minutes) and an short cab ride into San Jose del Cabo.
The hotel offers breakfast with the room rate and coffee is available in the lobby, which was a great way to start the day. There is also a small refrigerator with water, soda, and beer for a small charge in the room.
We had a beach front king room, which had a nice size porch on which to sit and stare out onto the ocean. We were able to see whales most days breaching on the horizon. The room was a nice size, comfortable linens that smelled fresh, an armoire with a safe, a small table with chairs, a desk with a bench, and a small, but clean bathroom. It was everything we needed for a relaxing stay!

If you need a peaceful, beautiful, place to slow-down and relax, this is it. It's a breathtakingly lovely gem right on the ocean. The staff are wonderful and so helpful. The only noticeable missing elements were consistent wifi and poolside service. We were just fine without those things, but we did have to adapt a bit. We will definetly be back!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much ... the room was comfortable, the view spectacular and the staff was sincere and accommodating ... The best comment I can make is when we return to the Cabo area would we stay there again? the answer is Yes ... With this in mind, here are some things to consider ... this is a small hotel and it's really designed for peace and quiet, If you are looking for hotel-driven activities or any nightlife what-so-ever, this is not the place for you ... it's located about a mile from San Jose del Cabo which has some very nice restaurants but it's about 20 miles from the nightlife of Cabo San Lucas ... Peace was exactly what we wanted and we were not disappointed ... the beach is right out front of the property and clean with few people and peddlers ... the breakfast was excellent and they will prepare lunch and dinner upon request ... Overall, we enjoyed our stay, would stay there again and have no reservations about recommending it to others.

Amazing property for a quite getaway. Not the business and commercial feel for Cabo San Lucas. A nice quite beach. This 15 room property is VERY well designed and maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves great no-menu full breakfasts, and is an easy answer to lunch or dinner if you don't feel like venturing out. Renting a car makes it VERY easy to get to San Jose (5 mins) or Cabo San Lucas (25 minutes).

The best boutique hotel we've ever stayed in, also I travel a lot, and have never experienced a more friendly, genuine and complete hotel set up. We wanted a laid back family holiday, but still found loads to do, away from the slightly over commercialised Cabo San Lucas, which was great for a day visit or two, but get back to the friendly environment of this hotel and area, a refreshing change to the usual hum drum. Very nice.

I would compare Casa Costa Azul more to a B&B experience than a hotel. They are thrid generation family owned and you feel that level of caring in everything they do. This is not a place to bring your rowdy friends. It is perfectly suited for a romantic weekend or to getaway on your own to catch up on some reading. The peace and tranquility here is unmatched and among the best I have ever experienced.

Casa Costa Azul is a gorgeous, custom-built hotel right on the ocean. We had an oceanfront king deluxe room with fantastic panoramic views from the outdoor balcony. We watched the sunrise from bed, and could hear the ocean and surf 24x7, even with the AC on and the windows closed! The hotel is beautifully decorated and the facility is top quality. Very classy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The small restaurant on site is wonderful and Guillermo is a fantastic chef whose food is all the more delicious because you can tell it is prepared with love. He prepared a gourmet feast, served right on the beach for our first night there.
The staff was very helpful; calling taxis for us when we wanted to head into town, or calling in a reservation at a nearby restaurant. Our friends were also able to book a massage and yoga classes are sometimes offered. Looking forward to another visit next year!

We just returned from a fantastic 6-night stay at this gorgeous small hotel. Jorgi and Christina are charming hosts and they have one of the most beautiful places to stay in San Jose del Cabo. The beach was empty and the sunrise and scenery were gorgeous day and night. The sound of the surf was wonderful, too! The hotel was extremely clean both inside and out. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts prepared by Guillermo. We also hired him to fix us a memorable dinner one evening and lunch on the day we left. This was our first trip to Baja and we plan to return to this same spot again! We also had some lovely dinners in downtown San Jose. We rented a car and we did some touring, but we enjoyed being at the hotel relaxing, reading and looking at the scenery so much, we had a hard time wanting to go anywhere else! We are telling all of our friends about Casa Costa Azul Hotel Boutique!

Quiet beachfront hotel. This family owned and run hotel was exactly as described in online reviews. Clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Great made to order breakfast is included. The small restaurant serves lunch and will bring out drinks the the pool if you ask. Dinners on the beach by request. Very conveniently located on the bus line or the owner can arrange a cab. We took the bus most places for a dollar a ride. Only 1/2 mile to a grocery store. Within walking distance of a surf shop for lessons and or board rental.

Great boutique hotel right of the beach, so much nicer than the mega all-inclusive resorts that define the area. Perfect location and friendly service - Jorge Sandoval and his crew were all knowledgeable and most helpful. Excellent views from the balcony, especially in the large king size rooms directly facing the beach. Try dining on the beach in front of the hotel, it is a memorable experience.
You may want to think twice about booking though if traffic noise troubles you: the hotel sits in between the beach and a busy four lane highway. The noise can be troublesome at times, when the wind blows from the wrong direction. Lower floors and ocean front rooms are noticeably quieter (Jorge immediately and kindly moved us down two floors when we brought up the issue).
Note that the traffic issue should improve significantly when the new inland highway from San Jose to Cabo San Luca opens up next year: most of the traffic should be diverted away from the coastal road and there is talk of building a promenade for walking and biking.

Great place & definitely worth the extra $$ for a view room. Perfect sunrise from your bed every morning. This hotel is a great way to enjoy Cabo and avoid the clublike / hipster vibe @ the larger resorts. Supremely clean & comfortable. Great staff. I will return to this place.

Nice hotel on great beach. Private and well cared for by staff. Beach is very swimmable with modest shore break but almost abandoned. Nice standup paddleboarding. Hotel food is fairly good but pricey at $150 for dinner on the beach for 2 with wine (fine for honeymooners) and $80 for scorched fajitas for 3.Breakfast was included and was solid. As a result we went foraging at different retaurants up and down the beach and in town with mixed results. Avoid Zippers unless you want something deep fried. Jorge the owner manager was very personable, as were all the staff there. Recommend for couples or older families.
