I would have LIKED to stay at the Royal. I'd made a booking but ran late getting there. No text message. No email. And no keys or anything in the late arrivals box when I got there. You can imagine how great that felt arriving in a dark carpark, with everything closed, and nowhere to stay.

I was lucky to not end up sleeping in the back of my car, but had to suck up paying for a room at another hotel (also closed by the time I got there, but at least there was a bell I could ring).

Late check in process at this place definitely needs work. Imo, don't book here if you're expecting to arrive late.

Clean, basic accommodation, perfect for a stopover. Great value for money. Fantastic food available in the bistro for both lunch and dinner. Hotel is in a good location, close to town centre, there’s plenty of parking and staff are friendly.
Wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

Would have liked lights off outside of my room but being a pub it’s probably safer not to do this but happy with room and certainly worth what I paid compared to motels around singleton and ladies in charge (Charlotte) and those behind bar were fantastic had a great weekend

It is well priced with a good bed. The room had an old split AC unit which was a bit noisy and functioned also had a tv. It is in need of renovation but then the price will go up. Its a little noisy before 10pm ehen people out the back area playing pool and the shower head holder is broken, so take a roll of tape with you so you dont have to hold the shower head. Staff are very good and food is good. Its in middle of main street so easy to walk to other pubs and bit more of a walk to main shopping area. Ill be back again.

The rooms were quite clean & the staff members were quite good & helpful, but I did not like the after hours way out of the hotel. It was smelly and had dirty water to hop over. The rooms with shared amenities are not properly positioned. Kids will have to pass through the pub to get to their rooms.

We stayed in a pub room upstairs (no.3) and it was great value.
We stayed 2 nights for $115, and we were very pleased with everything. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the showers (shared) were great.
There was a bit of traffic noise as we were on the road side (which you'd expect as its on the highway), but if you shut the blind, it muffled it quite well.
But we like waking up in a light room, so before we went to sleep, we opened the blind and put on our trusty white noise app and had no trouble sleeping.
A great place to stay that was super easy on the wallet and so close to the lovely Pokolbin.

You literally step from your room into the beer garden. The pool table is also in the beer garden. It was obvious we would not be able to sleep here so we left and found other accommodation. We did consider asking for a room upstairs but those rooms overlook the main road which is very busy with noisy heavy vehicles.

The beds sheets towels excellent. General room condition you got what you paid for. My only complaint was the condition of the bathroom could do with a complete refurbish. Room 16 that is where we stayed. Would I stay again absolutely. It's cheap and good enough if its for sleeping and attending a fuction. The staff are just lovely. Price appropriate.

Basic property, but good service. The experience has been mixed.
1. We were given a room that, although indicated ensuite, was not so.
2. The AC in the room was too weak and we were given a fan.
3. We were moved to a new room with an ensuite, but the AC was still weak with very slow cooling.
4. We found spiders in teh room, which we were able to exterminate!
5. On the last day, the room was not made up and, on hindsight, teh cleaners used the room without cleaning as I found the TV running when I got back and the pillows arranged differently than when I left it!

The on-premises stuff were quite helpful and the food delicious. When you order the linguini, order extra chilli flakes and salt. :-) I would recommend it!

Lack of access to upstair Hotel rooms

Entry and exit via emergency doors only, need a scan entry door from street.
Entry via inside of Hotel one way, side entry to the stair well was from 30 m muddy side entrance from the back carpark. The upstairs entry, an ajar emergency door again from the balcony was via rickety set of stairs to the front street. Up stair Hotel rooms meet fire regulations but not customer needs, cheers Grant

For the price, it is what you get. Four of us slept two nights. It was comfortable enough to enjoy the night after coming back from the hunter valley and in the morning getting ready. Amenities were very basic - just a kettle, mini fridge and biscuits. It could do a few more things such as a microwave and hair dryer. But overall it was a good experience.

We stayed 1 night booked a room that was only $79. Turned out it was basically in the beer garden area. Pub closed at 12.00 pm but beer garden still active at 3.30am. Unable to sleep much until that time. Unit was clean enough at first glance but after settling in found it to be poorly maintained and shower area was dirty. All in all didn’t pay much but should of been better. We won’t be staying again.
