We booked 2 rooms for a family trip to the Hunter Valley. The accommodation was good value, clean and comfortable. The service was responsive and friendly (they event brought us a cheese knife and plate to serve up the wine and cheese we purchased during the day). The only thing was the restaurant was not open on Sunday for breakfast but we found a nice place in town to eat.

Only here for one night & we were comfortable. Car park has a large cover, which, whilst it didn’t full protect from the rain, did enable us to get to our car without getting wet.

We booked the property because it advertised a in-house restaurant, desired after a long day driving. The restaurant was not operating due to lack of availability of a cook. Breakfast was thought to include a cooked breakfast, but this proved to be incorrect.

I actually didn't think I would get accommodation that was of this high a standard in a country town in rural New South Wales, but Francis Phillip Motor Inn was definitely on par with major centres, including Sydney. It seems a nice hotel but I actually didn't stay there, as, at arrival at 9pm, I couldn't find the night bell and, even more importantly, my messages send under the rubric 'message the mote' to unbook, within half an hour of arrival(!!) didn't reach the motel but some obscure organisation who didn't pass it on that night...
So I had to go somewhere else. I have spoken about this to the friendly receptionist of this motel the following morning and she adviced me to contact expedia or you to unbook the room , as I haven't used the service. I think it's not a good service you provide and the message to motel appears slightly misleading as it doesn't reach the motel. It is not clear on the site what to do if you have to unbook the room and this is not helpful neither for the client, not for the motel
So please reimburse my money.

I just needed a bed for a couple of nights, and for what I paid it was fine. It is an older motel, but well kept. Room was quite dark (poor lighting), and needed a good airing but other than that is was fine. Big room, comfortable bed and easy ground level access.

Going to a concert at winery, this hotel had a great location for both the concert and the fast food outlets just down the road. The reception staff were very pleasant and the bed comfortable.

Basic motel with outdated furniture
Unfortunately, the furniture in this motel hasn't been updated for a minimum of 20 if not 30 years. The aircon wasn't working and if it did, then we didn't feel the difference.
It is ok accommodation if you just need a simple place for just an overnight quick stay but the value wasn't worth the money in my opinion.

I ordered chilli cheese bread & from the sea pasta for dinner in the restaurant, waited an hour for the bread to come out & then another 30 minutes for the pasta. Of the 6 mussels in the dish 3 were still closed. While staff apologised for the wait, I would hate to be hungry if they were actually busy.
