Spent 4 days and 4 nights at Hotel del Lago with my wife for a vacation and to golf. The staff was great, extremely helpful and hospitable. The building is a bit run down, as mentioned in other reviews, so that was expected. Could definitely use a deep cleaning, but we were there in the Spring so may have had some lingering winter dust to knock off. The breakfast was good, standard Uruguayan resort breakfast from our experience, the dinner had some good dishes too, and with Punta del Lago 20 minutes away the options are bountiful.

Can tell that this is definitely a family-oriented place and I image it gets very busy in the summer. Lot's to do. Paddle-boarding, biking, tennis, spa treatment and golf. There was also an impressive amount of artwork.

Club del Lago is maintained but clearly not used as much as it used to be. The course is not irrigated except for the greens, so many of the fairways were local weeds/grass with dirt patches, which added to the challenge. It was near empty and had an extremely mellow vibe. Staying at the hotel we did get \"free\" golf, but cart rentals were $40-$80 for 9/18 holes, which was fine as the carts were newer and nice. Wife rented clubs, they were \"ok\". Beautiful course with some great holes and very good scenery. Weather was perfect, the vibe was excellent, the course just wasn't maintained up to US standards but was still a great experience altogether. Definitely recommend, just know it's going to be a unique experience!

The location of the hotel is beautiful, its amongst pine trees, in front of a huge lake, no noise, very quiet.
Very friendly staff. Our room was very nice, huge and comfortable. The art work in the hotel is worth mentioning too

They had a private party outdoors, the music was to loud, it stopped around 4 am.
It said they have barbecue grills out doors on the Expedia app, those grills don’t exist.
The pool was great, the jacuzzi doesn’t work properly.
The game area was ok.

The staff was very nice, the property is nice but need some cleaning and updating especially around the pool area, furniture outdated.The TV in the room was very old, could only get spanish channels and no streaming options.Will definitely use the Hotel again and recommend it to friend and family, great location and the best view, its quite and relaxing, just need some tender love

Hotel service the last day included a water outage of several hours, which delayed breakfast. Breakfast was also incomplete since they had o water for coffee, tea, sanitary etc.
This also delayed check out and hotel was not happy with everyone checking out late.
Hotel did not take responsibility for this inconvenience other to say I am sorry

The Hotel is great, located a bit away from the city ( 15-20 min) but right in front of a lake. the Hotel is great for families but Not so great just for couples as there are a lot of kids present. The outside pool is great but like i said too many kids. Not many restaurants nearby, you would have to drive to a restaurant. The stuff is great and friendly.

This is a nice hotel only 7-8 minutes off the main highway. The hotel is a little aged but still in decent shape, and the views and paths along the lake are wonderful. Very peaceful location with a courteous and helpful staff and good room prices make this a good safe location to spend a few nights outside of Maldonado.

Good but could be much better

Amazing location. Rooms are correct for what the hotel charges but the restaurants are way overpriced for their offering and the staff is soo slow and unmotivated.

Staff at the reception and bar were ok.

For $ 500 a night, it is way overpriced. For $ 200-300 you are getting decent value.

This hotel is excelent for family with childs, they ll enjoy the park and activities. Is near punta del este and inside the hotel you have restaurants , bars and gym. You can enjoy one weekend inside the hotel.Good. Need maintenance is some places. But is really good. ART is excelent.

Nice place to relax

Great place to fall off the grid and just relax. The lake is beautiful and the swimming pools are perfect to spend the day at during the summer. Staff is accommodating, beds are comfortable, there's amazing artwork everywhere, breakfast is very good too. It is far from civilization so not the right option if you plan to spend most of your time in Punta del Este.

A weekend getaway

I enjoyed my stay here. I loved the artwork displayed on the walls, the pool was nice, the free breakfast was good, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is a golf resort, and we were not there for golf, so it's a bit further from Punta del Este (which is why we were there) than I'd like it to be, but the hotel offers a shuttle to Punta del Este for a small fee, so that was cool. The last pick-up to go back to the hotel is a little too early, so if you're wanting to be out late, you will need to take a taxi back. They also offer a free shuttle to the nearby beaches, and a shuttle to the airport, so that's also nice. As far as food, if you don't have a car, your only option is what the hotel has to offer as there is nothing within a short walking distance. We had a small meal at the bar, and it was decent. The room was clean, the shower was nice and big, and the beds were super comfortable. It rained on one of the days we were there so we hung out at the hotel all day and found it to be very comfortable and relaxing with a wide range of amenities offered. The front desk also called every night just to see if we needed anything. Given it's distance from Punta del Este, if or when I ever come back, I would stay here again.

Beautiful view of the lake from a large balcony.

The lake is large, lined by tall pines with many species of birds nesting. A nice cool breeze flows across the white caps and engulfs the room with freshness. A nice relaxing environment to enjoy a cocktail.

The hotel is not appealing to the eye from the outside. The inside is a time tunnel and needs updating. Pool was dirty , chairs as well. Some of the patio furniture needs to go in the trash. Went for a walk and the board walk is all torn up. No cautionary signs where you could easily catch your leg in a hole from missing boards. Our room was not clean especially the bathroom and mold on the tiles. Bed linens were clean.Staff was nice but we had to ask for things that a high end resort would have attended to. The grounds were pretty. The hotel has the potential to be better if the attention to detail was there. The manager was very nice and gave my husband a discount voucher for us to come back. Unfortunately I would never go back.

We stayed at the suite and had an amazing time. The jacuzzi was fantastic and not expensive at all. Only thing negative was you could tell it had't been used for some time as there were some spider webs in the balcony and some other hidden areas. Other than that was great, very friendly staff, very nice breakfast and the surroundings of the hotel are stunning.

Great stay!

I went with my parents and 3 years old daughter. We had a great stay. It was my first time at the hotel, but not my parents. My daughter had a great time at the kid's club and indoor pool (it was winter). She also loves the surroundings: park, space to run. The food was very good and the breakfast excellent!. Highly recommended for families

Excellent Hotel With Beautiful Facilities

We are halfway through a 4-month world trip and this was the best hotel we stayed in to date. It is a resort located in an upscale region within a forested area close to Punta Este. Our room with HUGE and had a marvelous deck that overlooked a manicured mixed pine & oak forest. The outdoor pool was massive and beautifully situated in the forest. This is the best hotel that I had the pleasure to visit in a long time. The only drawback was that we had to leave to fly to Greece to continue our trip I hope someday to return to Uruguay and stay at this Club for a longer time.

As soon as we walked in, we wished we'd booked somewhere else. The hotel is dark, dingy and in dire need of a makeover. The rooms are full of cheap furniture, the carpets are badly stained and smell damp, the bathrooms look old. The breakfast is basic and unappetising. My heart sank when I walked into the room and from that moment on it was just a matter of waiting it out - not the sort of feeling you want on your Christmas holidays. If we could have got a refund and booked elsewhere, we'd have gone. Worse still, the hotel is about 20 minutes out of town (Punta Del Este) and the charge to get into town by taxi was US$40 (80 round trip) - they have a twice daily shuttle service into town which leaves at inconvenient times and is not free. And if you're stuck in the hotel, then you have to eat at their expensive restaurant or have room service. All in all, this place feels like a one star 1980s Eastern European holiday camp. Avoid.

Wonderful hotel! The staff was very helpful and friendly. While we were there, they were running a promotion to give customers with rental cars (basically a must, given that the hotel is about 20 minutes outside of Punta Del Este) a GPS to use at no additional cost, which helped us on several occasions. Best breakfast buffet we had on our trip.

Close to the best beach in Punta

The best beach in Punta del Este is Playa Chihuahua. This hotel is located just 5 minutes away by car. The breakfast is very good. The pool area is very nice and has a great snack bar. The parking is free as well the Wi Fi. I booked the room # 406 on the corner. Beautiful view, but a litle noise from the street. I recomend this hotel.

Great Family Hotel, just outside Punta del Este

We visited Hotel del Lago in Dec. 2013 for 2 nights and found it a unique and charming place. It offers lots of great amenities for a family get-away: golf, mini-golf, outdoor pool, indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, game room, playground, beach volleyball, kayaking, bikes, beach chairs/umbrellas, etc.

We took advantage of the $5 shuttle to the beach, which usually runs directly to Punta del Este, but the driver was willing to drop us at another nearby beach & arranged to pick us up there later. We found all of the staff friendly & very helpful. We speak a bit of Spanish, but noticed an English-speaker could almost always be found among the desk staff.

A taxi into Punta del Este is approx $40 U.S., so you may want a car if you plan to spend most of your time in the resort town.

We ate at the hotel's restaurant one night & had a fantastic meal - delicious and beautifully presented.

Overall - highly recommended!

Hotel has plenty of potential, but not ready for prime time. Staff spoke little english, maintenance of property an issue, ie: elevators not working, dated furnishings. Like something out of the 1980's. far from town. Good views of lake and good golf course. Next time rent a car if you are staying, because the shuttle to town only runs every 2 hours from noon to 7:3o pm.

The thing i liked most about Hotel del Lago was the staff, they were really helpful and flexible to attend our requests. The hotel is located a little bit far from the centre and the main casino (Conrad), but if you have a car there is nothing to worry about, as it is very easy to drive in the city (you have just to follow the main road). I would strongly recommend you rent a car, as it is a small city and there aren't many options of public transportation, The Hotel has plenty of amenities, but you can see that they are a little bit old, although well kept. It is perfect for golf lovers (I can't really can tell anything about the golf course, as i don't play golf). The breakfast buffet is really good, with many options. i would recommend this hotel.

Big room, terrace and superb view

Big and comfortable room with a small terrace and a wonderful lake view. The hotel is isolated, you will need a car. Lots of paintings in the wall, some from the finest Uruguayan artists. The decor of the restaurant and the public areas is not sophisticated. We did not use the restaurant, the menu seemed very limited.

Good hotel but far from downtown and therefore really no choice but to eat at the hotel. Limited menu, very pricey( $22 for a small bowl of pasta) and poorly cooked. Cocktails were between $12 and $15 each, again very expensive and for that price I would have expected a few little nibbles as an accompaniment but nothing doing. Also, slightly peeved after asking for a taxi to have a chauffeur driven Merc turn up and being charged $15 for a 3 minute ride.

Better options in Punta

My first trip to Punta del Este with a friend and a bit last minute. Checked out my options on Expedia and found this hotel. Checked in late (like 11:30pm) and was unaware there was a one hour time difference from Buenos Aires (one hour later). The kitchen was closed and the closest restaurant was a 20 minute drive to town. We had no car so eating was not an option which was disappointing. The hotel is kept clean and well maintained but a bit on the older side. The carpets were old and needed to be replaced. The standard room was quite large (definitely enough for 2 people) and the beds were top notch. The biggest down fall to the hotel was definitely the customer service. There are only 2 people on staff who spoke english and I felt like when myself or my guest called the front they would get annoyed at us and sometimes just hang up the phone! They definitely had an attitude and seemed annoyed if you asked them for anything. The breakfast was good, the pool is amazing and the view of the lake is peaceful. It's a good hotel for families but make sure you speak Spanish! I think there are better options if you want to be close to the beach and in walking distance to town. There is zero tolerance for drinking and driving in Uruguay so it's better to stay where all the action is in town.

The Punta del Este Golf and Art resort Hotel is about five minutes from downtown Punta del Este. But for all it has to offer (pools, bars, restaurants, activities {golf, tennis} game rooms, childrens center) it can't be beat. If I ever go back to Punta del Este, I would stay here without a doubt.

Foi uma experiência muito agradável. Hotel com muitas opções de lazer em local bem tranquilo e com uma bela paisagem. O quarto é espaçoso, com cama confortável, bom chuveiro e bela vista do bosque. Os corredores são adornados com belas obras de arte, muito bonito. Existem outras áreas comuns para apreciar no hotel. O atendimento da equipe foi impecável, especialmente do Santiago. Apreciamos a piscina e área de jogos, além do passeio no entorno do hotel, com vista para o lago. A distância não foi problemas pois havíamos alugado um carro. Se voltar a Punta del Este, pretendo me hospedar novamente aqui.

Bom café da manhã !!!
O quarto é extremamente espaçoso com lindas varandas para o lago, entretanto esta bem antigo e necessitando de reforma. No geral o hotel apesar de bem conservado parece que ficou parado na década de 90.
O café da manhã é bastante bom com boas opções
Há varias opções de lazer como golf, esportes nauticos ( o lago é bem frio mesmo no verão), bikes, piscina aquecida e spa.
Ponto bem negativo é que ele é bem longe de Punta Del Este. Um uber esta custando em média 40 dolares por trecho, então se não estiver de carro, pense bem !!

Foi muito bom, pena que como a maioria dos hoteis fora da alta temporda, não todas as instalações funcionam.
Bar da piscina por exemplo.
O quarto que alugamos (suite) era muito grande e super confortavel com dois banheiros e banheiras.
O problema do hotal esta mais de conservação das instalações. Limpeza das areas comuns por exemplo,

Hotel limpo, a aprox. 15Km do centro de Punta. Só vale a pena a estadia se estiver de carro, para a visita os pontos turísticos. Paisagem maravilhosa de um lago e o campo de golf. Bastante silencioso à noite. Hotel antigo, muito amplo, gostamos da decoração (diversos quadros nas paredes, quase over). Café da manhã razoável. Funcionários educados e solícitos. Quarto muito amplo, camas confortáveis. Comodidades diversas, de qualidade satisfatória. Metais do banheiro antigos, mas funcionantes. Banheiro muito grande, banho confortável. Vale a pena para quem quer ficar longe da agitação de Punta e curtir uma paisagem.

Achei o hotel incrível, lindo, limpo. O café da manhã excelente. Ele é antigo e precisa de alguns reparos ( o vidro da varanda, por exemplo, estava quebrado). Outra coisa é o chuveiro antigo e poderiam trocar. Tem um lago que pode cair bem na frente, piscina aquecida, piscina com cascata e mordomia. Fica distante do centro de punta mas isso não prejudicou em nada.

O hotel é bem antigo, e precisa de ampla reforma. Fica longe de tudo em Punta, e o transporte, além de caro, nem sempre está disponível. Os serviços são completamente dolarizados, mas a qualidade não condiz com os preços. Encontrei baratas no banheiro do restaurante. Quarto com muito pó e móveis antigos. Obras de arte da área comum pesadas e de gosto duvidoso. Checkout às 11:00, sem qualquer tolerância. Não voltaria e não recomendo.

PÉSSIMO, HORRÍVEL E NOJENTO.

O Hotel é muito velho, sujo e desorganizado. Quando tentei fazer o checkin, não havia apartamento disponível. Esperei por um bom tempo e resolvi ir embora cancelando minha reserva pois não havia previsão de quando conseguiria meu quarto. CUIDADO, ESSE HOTEL É UMA ESPELUNCA e MUITO VELHO. Só na recepção havia tapetes rasgados e puídos com cheiro de mofo. Imaginem como seriam os quartos que felizmente nem cheguei a conhecer. A única coisa boa é a vista para o lago que é lindo

Hotel con vistas increibles

En general es un buen hotel con excelente piscina exterior y muy buen desayuno.
El hotel un poco viejito le falta mantenemiento...fue un gran hotel en su momento.
La vista es lo mejor.
Restaurante pedimos merienda para 2 un desastre y carooo!

Mais afastado da cidade é um resort de campo com excelente estrutura de lazer. Se possível reserve os quartos com vista para o lago. Aproveite a piscina quentinha, e faça um passeio de bike pela região. Crianças e adultos adoram a sala de jogos com jogos eletrônicos liderados

En general bien, pero en comparación con mi ultima visita, el hotel necesita mantencion general, esta viejo y se nota, no vale lo que cobran:
1. Acensor a piscina malo (asi que con conche no se podia ir solo)
2. Piscina para niños cerrada
3. En general se nota deterioro

Las animaciones (para los niños) han bajado mucho el nivel, recuerdo que antes en la cena iban a informar e invitar a los niños y en la mañana lo mismo, ahora nada y en una actividad cortaron justo a los 50 min, se quedaron un rato en la piscina y se fueron.

Con respecto al servicio, en recepcion en el tuvimos 2 temas:
1.- llegamos un dia con nuestra bebe (coche) e hijo de 8 años durmiendo, como nos demoramos en salir del auto se acercaron para ver si eramos huespedes, al verificarlo se fueron, luego con dificultades para entrar no nos ayudaron nada.
2. Hoy al check out pedi un descuento que tenian con martercard y la chica me miro y me dijo \"no se\" era poco dinero, por lo que me fui frustrado.

Los garzones y chef muy buenos, nuestra hija tiene alergia alimentaria y se preocuparon de tener algo especial, de no generar contaminación cruzada.

Esta es la segunda y probablemente ultima vez. Por el mismo precio hay hoteles con piscinas en Punta del Este

Hotel antigo. Mas tudo funcionava direito bem como a limpeza era ok. Recepção pecava pois não conseguia passar informações sobre serviços do hotel como aluguel de bicicletas, serviço de massagem, etc. um pouco caro pelo serviço oferecido.

Adoramos a estadia. Apesar de o hotel estar precisando de uma pintura, é muito cômodo! Quarto muito espaçoso, assim como o banheiro. Café da manhã com muitas opções! Áreas comuns são lindas, a piscina climatizada é top demais (não usamos a externa)! Uma pena só termos ficados por 2 diárias. A vista é incrível, o lago é lindo.

Ótimo hotel.

Hotel com uma ótima estrutura. Considerando que está voltando do período de pandemia entendesse que está com várias coisas para melhorar na conservação.
O café da manhã é excepcional e condiz com a tarifa cobrada.
Piscina ótima e quadras de tênis magníficas.
Quarto apesar de antigo é muito confortável e amplo, com roupas de cama aromas, toalhas e roupões.
Para estada em família e com tranquilidade é uma ótima escolha.
Tem que ter carro e não se importar com as distâncias até o centro de Punta del Este.

Bom hotel para famílias- recomendo

Hotel muito bom para famílias. É perto de Punta del Este de carro (10 min).
O hotel é muito grande e tem muitas atrações mas falta manutenção em alguns itens. A pintura externa também precisa ser renovada,
A limpeza externa deixa um pouco a desejar. Acho que porque está no meio da natureza e precisaria de muitos funcionários para isso.
Os funcionários são muito simpáticos em especial a Gabriela do restaurante.

Hotel muy completo con muchas actividades. Nos faltó el teléfono, solicitamos que lo arreglen y nunca lo hicieron. La habitación no era la que había pagado. El baño tenía problemas de desagüe con el agua. El resto es acorde a lo esperado. La cama muy buena. El desayuno completo y la atención de los mozos muy buena. Recepción regular.

Muy lindo hotel con habitaciones amplias y un servicio excelente.

Podría mejorar la limpieza en duchas y piscina donde el piso estaba un tanto resbaladizo. Falta mantenimiento tanto en la sala de juegos (futbolito y pool) como en los arcades donde se nota un completo estado de abandono.

El restaurant muy en cuenta, rico y con porciones generosas. La sala para niños es de lo más completo que hay, más no se podría pedir.

Lo que mas me sorprendio fue la mala higiene de la piscina, fui especialmente a primera hora suponiendo que estaba filtrada y me soprendio la cantidad de particulas que ha simple vista tenia el agua.
La limpieza diaria de la habitacion la tuve que solicitar y habia dejado el hotel toda la mañana.
Espero se mejore... saludos

En general muy bien. Lugar enfrente al lago. Preciosa vista desde la habitación con balcón. Detalles a mejorar con urgencia: el estacionamiento es inexistente, es en pel a calle sin ningún tipo de orden ni vigilancia. El wifi se cae cada pocos minutos, es muy inestable. Falta de servicios incluidos en el precio del paquete como el uso de la cafetera Express. El bar no exite como entidad por si misma está ligado el restaurante que solo abre por horarios y con reservación.
Es imperioso aclarar el carácter familiar del establecimiento, no recomendado para parejas ni personas que busquen tranquilidad. El paisaje es muy calmo, el ambiente del hotel no.
