Great location especially if coming here with a rental car. I passed by this hotel multiple times between travel destinations, so I could drop by for a quick restroom break. It is a walking distance from great restaurants nearby. The service is too good - bathroom cleaned and beds made neatly every afternoon, and the breakfast table is already made ready for the guests each morning. I was checking out at 4am, and they even made me breakfast boxes to take with me! Really wonderful people working at this hotel. Just be careful not to scratch anything valuable against the wall if you are staying in a cave room. My phone screen protector got scratched when I was picking up my phone from under the bed and accidentally scratched the phone surface on the wall.

Easy and free parking. Helpful staff and in central location with plenty of dining and entertainment options in walking distance.

Only downside is if you have mobility issues, room upstairs can be difficult getting to, with steep stairs. But i think you may find this in most hotels around this area

Location was great close to all the restaurants . Very good location for pictures in the main area.

The room we stayed in smelled a lot and at times it was unbearable.

Breakfast was good just need to work on cleanliness and food safety, not using gloves while cooking and hot in the eating area.

The hotel is close to everything. Our room, while not a cave room, was very adequate. It was clean, had a bathroom with a strong shower, an electric water kettle with tea bags and instant coffee, and a comfortable queen sized bed. Celal Bey and Ahmet Bey were super nice and helpful. Nazlı Hanim provided a delicious breakfast buffet each morning, including eggs however we liked, fried potatoes and a borek. It was delicious. The hotel was well worth the price. We’d definitely recommend and would stay again when in the area.

Nice stay with some issues!!!

I would give this hotel a neutral rating. The outdoor gardens, rooftop terrace, and the hotel lobby and breakfast area are all very cute, well-kept and quaint. But the actual room was more to be desired. One of our beds was in very bad condition (completely sunk, and hard things poking up), so my son had a very difficult time sleeping on it the first night. Of course, we didn't know until he tried to lay down and we informed the hotel and they said they can bring us a new bed the next day because it's at a different hotel. So unfortunately, my son had to sleep in it for one night (very uncomfortable sleep). The bathroom is probably our biggest criticism. The hotel pictures did not show the bathroom at all. there was one photo of one bathroom that seemed to show a sink and a separate shower, but when we arrived, we noticed a very small bathroom with sink and toilet and a shower that had no separate curtain or glass compartment. So when we took a shower, the entire bathroom would get all wet with water splashed everywhere. This was quite inconvenient. We didn't have waterproof slippers to walk into the bathroom when it was wet. And the bathroom smelled a bit moldy. The bathroom door near the bottom had old moldy wood from the inside of the bathroom. Overall, everything else was okay. The breakfast buffet was simple Turkish style. We liked the Gozleme that was made for us every morning (Turkish style flat bread stuffed with ingredients - cheese and dill).

It's definitely a budget hotel, but all I needed is a hot shower and bed so I don't complain. I rested after the red tour is done until my night bus for Pamukkale departs. It's also very close to the venter/bus stations, which is very convenient.

Cave hotel experience for a reasonable price

Perfect place to stay in Goreme. Incredibly central, but also away from the noise of the Main Street. Rooms are great - everything you need, with some added character. And the staff are hospitable and genuine. Saban is a great man. I’m travelling on a budget, but am glad I stayed here. I don’t often leave reviews - let alone reviews that are so positive, but Saksagan is a brilliant option in Goreme.

Budget Hotel - No Air-conditioning

This place has seen better days, there is street parking, wifi is good sometimes, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Reception speaks good English and is very helpful. My biggest complaint is that, the Room Description says it has \"AIR CONDITIONING\" and it does not have any such thing, I was given a pedestal fan which is not good enough for the summer +35c temperatures in Goreme.

Hotel staff were exemplary. Breakfast was excellent. Our only complaint is that in room #12, the bathroom door is very low (maybe only about 5'5\" tall). Consequently, I hit my head a few times coming in and out of the bathroom.

In room #10, the shower is not self contained. Therefore, the entire bathroom gets wet in the process of taking a shower. This is a problem in a room designed to sleep 5 people.

Rooms are VERY dark as there was only one light bulb. Also, it was cold in both of the rooms that we rented.

Numan Atak, the manager, helped me with plane, bus and other reservations. Cave Hotel Saksagan is a smaller, clean hotel with one of the more helpful hotel staffs that I have experienced during my 77 days od travel. It is a comfortable stay.

Nice outdoor area and dining room

We were travelling with kids so wanted more than just a room to sleep in. The Cave Hotel Saksagan was perfect for this as our room had an outside sitting area with low cusions and table, as well as a lovely large courtyard with tables and chairs, a large dining room that can be used anytime and a roof top terrace, which is ideal for watching the early morning balloons. For all of this I highly recommend the hotel.
Our room was ok with plenty of room for five of us. It and most of the rooms are concrete to look like caves, rather than true cave rooms. There are some cave rooms so if this is important, request those.
The beds were pretty comfortable and the room was kept clean. The only real negative was very low wattage overhead lighting and only one bedside light for four beds (1 double and 3 singles) which made the room feel dim and made reading at night difficult. Perhaps there are reasons for this in the electricity system in Goreme generally as the power did waver quite a bit.

The communication with the hotel staff, before and during my stay was excellent. They are all very helpful! The hotel is very central located; walking distance to everything. My room was small and the hotel kept it always clean and tidy. Turkish style breakfast buffet was good. I strongly recommend to stay in Göreme. It is the most beautiful town in Cappadocia and there are plenty of things to do and the rest is always accessible.

The hotel owner runs it like a master. Good job

First, the hotel is not a 5 star one, but the manager, Numan, runs it with perfection and simplicity at the same time. At the time of our arrival, from Istanbul by bus, we didn’t have to pay for the breakfast, that was only included from the next day on. It was a nice surprise on our arrival. We had to wait some time for the checkin, that was supposed to be at 2pm, but we got into the room at 1030am, some hours before. The room was spacious and, since I’m disabled, I could choose one cave the main floor, with 2 or 3 steps only. Very nice from Numan again. The location is good and the manager tries to make the time in Goreme very peaceful. The wifi is good, but inside the room is weaker. We are talking about a cave, that’s normal… About the location, it’s about 2 minutes walking from bus station and the Goreme center (not so big). You can walk 1 km to get the Open Air Museum and the balloon pickup comes to the hotel, but it’s all Goreme procedures. If I come back to Goreme, definitely I’ll stay again with my new friend Numan at Cave Hotel Saksagan. Try the Turkish bath the next door, very cheap and with discounts, ask Numan. By the way: we booked 2 nights, but stayed for 3, the place is really nice!

Comfortable hotel in the middle of Goreme.

The owner, Numan, is very helpful and speaks excellent English. We stayed 3 nights. Our first night was in a tiny room but Numan moved us to a bigger room the next nights. Rooms were comfortable with nice views over the town. The hotel is on the main road and traffic noise could be a problem for sensitive sleepers, but we were so exhausted from our activities we didn't notice!

The hotel is ok for a 2 star standard. Steady hot water in the bathroom. Rooms are cleaned everday. It is close to many restuarants and bars( Just less than a minute walk). You could also have a walk further to see the open museum. If you want to see Ürgüp(puppet museum, Turasan winery for free tasting of wine, etc) and Avanos(to watch pottery making), I will advise you just walk to the Taxi park(30 seconds walk from the hotel) and discuss with the drivers for a private drive. It's quite cheap and worth the price. The hotel Manager( Numan) is a helpful guy.

You will love the staff!

Spent 5 days in Istanbul and the next two days in Cappadocia. Nauman, was amazing from day 1. His communication and timing was impeccable and can't go without mention. He helped arrange my hotel shuttle at a very reasonable rate, and also drove me and my friends himself a few times. Additionally, he also served as a guide and helped arrange my hot hair balloon ride, green tour through the city, turkish evening at night, and hammam visit as soon as I arrived. This guy went to university in Cyprus just to perfect his English language because he knew he would be working in the hospitality business. He's a great host, and really opens up his cave to others. We got a great price, and had amazing amenities such as free breakfast and internet.
I went with two college buddies from Texas, and we got pretty wild. I was leaving and was short on cash. Nauman insisted I take some money for food at the airport! Listen I know he made a profit off me and my friends, but still! How nice of the guy. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

A budget hotel that gets it right!

We looked over so many options. Finally we decided on the Cave Hotel Saksagan. And we are so glad we did! The owner/manager was so helpful to us, and born and raised in Goreme, knew his stuff and loved the place. His recommendations guided us time and again to great moments. Okay, so he thought one underground city would be enough. For most it would be, but we wanted to visit the two largest ones and were glad we did. We got a great value for what we paid, and with everything considered, I seriously doubt you could do better. I stay perhaps 150 hotel nights in a year. The owner, the helper (breakfast, reception) and the cleaning person were so special counting in all those stays. The fairy chimney was the real deal! And that makes sense as Numan's family was among the first offering rooms in town. If you want bland high end polish and super comforts and large TVs, please go elsewhere. Our goal was to be out and about a lot, and yet this base made all the difference! If you want a great rate, an amazing (!!!) breakfast and the sense of a nice spot in a cave room, this is the place.

This is a friendly hotel with a beautiful patio, great breakfasts and a very helpful manager. He took us to see a few sights and brought us to the hiking trails of Rose Valley, which was great. Yes, the room could use a few updates and a bit of paint, but it was clean and comfortable. For the price it is a very good deal.

I have to give the Cave Hotel a five. Although room small, and no lift, it is a great hotel, good breaksfast, clean, great location on a little hill up from city....very manageable, had a great room overlooking city center. But the best is the hotel manager, Numan and his fantastic staff. Could not have been more pleasant and helpful....made my stay in Goreme so much more enjoyable. Thanks a lot folks!!

Numon treats you like family in a way that no one else at any other hotel will. I could walk to everything in town, and he willingly offered to take me there if I wanted. He also made it a breeze for me to book excursions and transportation to and from the airport. For the price, I can't imagine a better value. You will not regret staying here.

We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel. We had a fairy chimney room and a cave room. The fairy chimney room was really nice and worth the extra few euros if it is available during your stay. The cave rooms are basic, bed table, bathroom etc. What makes this hotel a wonderful place to stay is the hospitality. A wonderful Turkish breakfast is included and the staff even offered to cook fresh omelets for us. The manager Numan really wanted to make sure we had a fantastic time. We were interested in guided tours of the area but since we were traveling with children we wanted more flexibility than the organized tours offered so Numan arranged private guided tours for us. The city and area is spectacular and the hotel hospitality really made the stay perfect. In my opinion the hotel should be rated at least 3 stars on European standards and the hospitality even higher.

Not a luxury place but excellent just the same. A basic breakfast- nothing fancy but enough variety. Quick walk to lots but Goreme is small. Excellent hosts. Our double room wasn't available so they put us in a family room but we could have had a fairy chimney. We took the family room because it gave us lots of space to spread out over the 4 nights we were there. It was wonderfully quiet. Very cozy sitting space outside the room overlooking the terraced gardens. Loved it. Very comfortable.

The best hotel in Goreme, Cappadocia

Alot of the other hotels seem nice but they are on top of hills, this hotel is within the flat valley, (less tiring to walk to if you need a quick change of clothes or something). The location is beyond fabulous, it's a 1 minute walk from the bus station. Once you arrive they offer you a drink and as they are setting up an itinerary for you, your bags are brought to your room. I didn't have to plan anything further, they took care of everything, and also gave very helpful suggestions from everything from itinerary to where to eat or what to do with your day. They set up everything from our balloon ride to the bus tour and made sure we had enough time in between for breakfast, so thoughtful. The staff were the nicest people I have ever met. The father bumped into us in town and offered us a tea and great conversation. They truely took better care of us than family, (and I have a great family). The shower had great pressure, I loved it better than my home shower here in Canada, and the hotel is clean, great tv, a beautiful garden, and had a really charming Cave hotel experience that we wanted. I wholeheartly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Goreme, you will not regret it, you will only leave with great memories and a huge smile on your face. FYI I have already strongly recommended this hotel to my parents and family/friends.

Otel merkezi yerde, her yere kolaylıkla ulaşılabiliyor. Kahvaltı açık büfe ve oldukça dolu ve doyurucuydu. Çalışanlar çok ilgili ve kibardı en iyi yanı kesinlikle buydu. Odalar temizdi otelin önünde park alanı var, küçük ama yol üstü olduğu için yol kenarına da bırakılabilir.

Cave hotel saksagan. Great experience!

It was a real cave hotel experience and we enjoyed it very much. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the shower had good water pressure. I want to emphasize on how respectful and helpful the staff was. He helped us with our luggage as soon as we parked, he showed us where we could see the best sunset in cappadocia and gave us yogurt when we asked for it during breakfast.

Séjour de 5 nuits dans cet hôtel refait à neuf. Chambre est spacieuse avec un lit grande taille, un canapé, un petit frigo et une SdB grande et fonctionnelle. Le Pdj est copieux et varié (omelettes...) et les produits sont de qualité et/ou fait maison. Staff qui pourra vous aider pour vos visites et vous donnera de très bon conseil.
Adresse que je recommande tant pour le site que la qualité du service ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas à Goreme ou le principe est plutôt de faire le minimum pour un profit maximum .

Otelin konumu çok iyi..bahçesi terası çalışanların ilgisi fiyat-kalite açısından bakılırsa çok iyi..ıslak mekanlarda otelin eski olmasından kaynaklı sıkıntılar olsa da beni rahatsız etmedi..verilen parayı da gözönünden alırsak iyi bir şekilde ayrıldım..özellikle aile odası önüne konulan şark köşesi ve teras daki şark köşesini çok beğendim..uğur bey e ve çalışanlara teşekkür ederim..yine gidersem kalacağım bir mekan...

気取らない家族経営のホテルです。一見愛想ないように思いましたが、尋ねたことはきちんと答えてくれて信頼できる人達でした。比較的便利な場所にあります。当然でしょうがケープホテルは少し暗くて古い感じでした。細かいことは気にしないで緑の豊かな広い庭テラスでローカルな雰囲気をのんびり楽しみたい方に良いと思います。

Karşılayan kişi “neden geldiniz” diye kavga çıkarmak için orada galiba. Çalışanların hepsi amatör, hatta bu işi yapmak istemedikleri çok belli. Şahsıma “kimliklerinizde sorun olmasa fotoğrafını çekmeme izin verirsiniz” diye dünyanın en saçma ve kaba cümlesi söylendi. Çünkü çalışanın şahsi telefonu ile kimliklerin resmini çekmesine karşı çıktım. Evet; şahsi cep telefonu ile kimliklerin resmini çekiyor orada bulunan yabancı uyruklu arkadaş. “Neden?” diye sorunca da “Daha sonra emniyete göstereceğim” diyor. Buna karşı çıkınca da “Parayı ödeyin, nereye giderseniz gidin” gibi müthiş bir tavsiyede bulunuyor. Eşimle bana, kalmak istemediğimizi söyleyince “Parayı ödeyin yoksa çıkamazsınız” dedi. Polis çağırmak üzereydim ki otelin sahibi aradı; kimlik resimleri silindi ve kaldık. Odada havalandırmanın kapağı yok. Yani oradan her şey odaya gelebilir. Oturmamız için pencerenin önüne konulmuş masada boş bira kutuları vardı. Odada içecek su yoktu. Otelin yeri ise çok güzel ve kahvaltısı da güzel. Park sorunu yok.
