The service was simply excellent. We got a nice welcome drink and snack while waiting for our room to be ready (before check-in time), as well as some good tips for places to see and eat in. The stuff was very friendly and even discouraging you from tipping, which felt like a breath of fresh air and made the hospitability feel genuine. The room was.spottless-clean as was the whole place. We only had 1 night here, but we would definitely stay here again next time in Cairo.

Overall a decent hotel in the heartbeat of the old city and shows character.
The television did not work and the internet was hit and miss but we managed. They also provide a simple breakfast in the morning

If you are looking for a budget accomodation, than this hostel is great( not sure why it is advertised on Expedia as luxury guesthouse, when sign in the property saying Hostgram Hostel). Overall it's a nice accomodation. We liked our big room with balcony overlooking Talaat Harb Street( it might be too noisy for some people, bear in mind that this street is very busy with cars all the time, but we didn't mind that).
Breakfast is basic. Well when we asked about breakfast, we were told by the girl in reception that it's Egyptian beans, falafel, cheese etc, but then she brought us only boiled eggs, triangle cheese, jam, bread and tomatoes with cucumber. When asked where are beans and falafel, she said it's not allowed in the hostel....yet 20 minutes later, when we left our room, she was sitting in the reception with other guests offering them beans and falafel? Do they give different breakfast to different guests depending who they like? Never mind, we wouldnt eat it anyway, but no need to be so obvious.
I think the best of all is the location of this place, opposite is a famous bakery so you can get your baked goods and cakes there and round the corner is great coffee shop called SIP. Also this hostel is based on first floor, so not really suitable for those with mobility problems as I am not sure if the lift works.

I didn’t receive the room I paid for, they basically held me hostage and said I can cancel or change my room after one night. Mind you the room was like a closet and the shower was basically a hose sticking out of the wall next to the toilet. I had paid for a queen and twin room. I had no choice but to stay. The next day I tried canceling through Expedia. The manage pretended not to know English or just didn’t answer their phone while looking me in the eye. Do not go here, I felt unsafe and Expedia was not able to issue me a refund. Expedia has no control of their partners.

\"Deluxe\" room stank of smoke, had an ensuite with a partial wall and a toilet over the shower, the sink was leaky and the room was right next to reception. I checked out in the middle of the night because I didn't feel that I was safe from the taxi driver who dropped me off - he had written down my name and hotel and told me he wanted to sleep with me. I checked out within an hour of checking in and the hotel are refusing to refund my stay when I didn't use their facilities. Stay away!

quite good bed-and-breakfast hotel

The hotel has good location - easy to reach from Go bus station and to the Museum, has good cafes nearby. We had a room for 3 persons. It was large and had a balcony with nice view to the street. The room was not very clean - the floor was dusty, spots on the blankets. There was meal and drinks left by the previous visitors in the fridge. Still the host Marco and managers on the reception were very hospitable and helpful. There were no problem with the water or the light. Wi fi connection was good. There’s very noisy street under the balcony, but after a tour to Pyramids we have no problem with sleep. Breakfast was simple but quite all right for us - yogurt, bread, cheese, eggs, tomatoes and cucumbers. There’s a kitchen in the hotel, if you want to make tea or warm some meal. To sum it up the hotel is quite all right to stay for a day or two.

Rooms of different quality

On the whole positive with a caveat.
I had booked what was billed as a \"deluxe\" single room - in part based on some of the photos. When I got there, the concept of deluxe was somewhat missing .... the room was small, its window opened to a rubbish filled inner courtyard and the shower was integrated into the bathroom/toilet.... that's the negative.
But considering the price, the location and the fact that these sorts of things don't bother me all that much, it was actually good.
On one of the days I was there, I was asked to pack my bags because they needed to do some work on my room and I was promised a nicer room - but because I was out all day, I got put back in the old room and I wasn't impressed. And I mentioned it - so for the last night I got put into a huge, lovely room with way more room and a separate sitting/lounge room.
And then for the last night in Cairo (after going around Egypt for a bit) I came back and, having written to Marco, the owner/manager, I ended up in yet another lovely room with a view over the main street and plenty of room.
Breakfast could be booked in addition and turned up punctually except for one day - but that was once only.
I'm left with the sense that the owner really does care about the satisfaction of the guests, that where possible you get nicer rooms but that things are a little ad hoc. If you are coming here, think about spending the extra money for a \"double\" room simply for the additional space. Overall I would recommend staying

The property is well located with plenty of shops around and only a short walk to the Egyptian museum. However the area is extremely chaotic and loud so it may not be the best pick if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing spot. Staff is friendly but not all speak English which can be impractical. The tours organised were pricey and didn't meet the expectations. I'd definitely encourage travellers to look elsewhere for those.

The hotel was good. Not a luxury hotel, but you get what you pay for. Also the staff was accommodating when I had problems.

But never take their tours! My guide insisted on giving her tips and kept asking me if I needed to withdraw money from an ATM for her tips. When I was at the ATM, I felt so insecure because she was standing behind me and clearly looking at my credit card numbers - she even jokingly said \"I can see your numbers\" and \"can I have your card, please\". Her English was mediocre and she barely answered my questions. The souvenir shops they took me to were sketchy. My complaints about the tour go on, but overall the tour was so unpleasant that I doubt I'll ever visit Cairo again.

So this hotel is only great if you just need a place to sleep in downtown Cairo for some reason. But if you need a guide, take it elsewhere!

The hotel is very old, a little decrepit. First night the room was not clean. Bathroom very old but clean. kitchen very small. Paiement with bank machine was not possible.

This hotel is very centrally located a short walk from Tahrir square and the Egyptian museum. It's in a funky little neighborhood with a shopping distruct on one side and very local area on the other side with little restaurants and businesses on the side streets. It's 1 floor up in an old building with a fantastically antique elevator that is worth staying here just to see.. The rooms are clean and comfortable.. showers are clean and there's lots of water pressure and hot water. Most importantly the Manager Marco is fantastic and can do anything for you. He'll arrange airport shuttle's and day trips if you want them... and he's very hospitable. For the money, it's one of the best places I've stayed at in Egypt and I would highly recommend it. Don't expect the Hilton but for this price category it is great. Make sure you sit out on the patio with all the parakeets and listen to them chirp and sing and have a cup of coffee. Be advised that, like all older central Cairo hotels, the rooms on the street side (with balconies you can go out on) can be noisy with street activity. Ask for an interior room if you want a quiet room.

An Englishmans dream.

This hostel (it is basically a hotel) is ideally located just a three minute walk from Tahir Square (Central Cairo). The manager did not try to sell me or my wife a single thing during our entire stay (unusual for Egypt). In fact he just kept offering us free things (food tea etc). I would highly recommend this hostel for anyone from the UK or Europe. I have been to Egypt many times and I must say I never felt so relaxed anywhere here before including 5 star hotels. The rooms are spacious and clean, the showers have nice hot water, the WiFi is easily fast enough to stream a movie on my iPad (again I have not found this to be the case even in five star hotels). The rooms have a fridge and satellite tv (Mainly Arab TV but fine for sports or music). I would reccomend the triple room with balcony view. The price is great and you will have plenty of space plus a seating area. When you first enter the front of the main building you may be unsure as it is not decorated or cleaned to the same standard as the Hostel (which is located on the first floor). However once you enter the hostel you will be treated to shining white marble floors and freshly painted and decorated walls with trendy art ETC. To summarise If you are looking for a safe place to stay, that is clean and has respectful staff this is the place for you. I cannot reccomend it enough. This hostel is family run so all the staff are very decent and you will know where you stand with them.

The staffs there are very nice and helpful. The location is also center of the city, which might give you a problem if you are light sleeper. Hotel can arrange a tour for you, too, but be aware that it's not really a tour but just a chartered car. So if you need a proper guide of the places, you need to sign up for a guided tour. I can still recommend to book through them. Their driver was polite and professional, and the price is reasonable.
Overall, it was a nice stay thanks to friendly staffs, with good cost performance.

Scamming their own guests!

Super dishonest business practice makes this hotel one to avoid. But first, let’s start with the pros: I t’s located close to the museum and downtown, room and bathroom are quite clean, staffs _appears_ friendly. Now for the cons. The shady business practice cheating on guests is not like anything we’ve seen in Egypt. If you’re familiar with the constant hustlers, scammers, and people taking advantage of you in Egypt, this hotel takes it to a whole another level. Hotels are meant to be a place for where we can trust while we explore the city, but Hostagram cheated us on selling us a super expensive tour, only to not have lived up to the expectations. Things promised to us were “extra”, and the transportation was throwing us on the local bus and having to figure out where and how to go to the destination ourselves. We were promised someone would pick us up at the destination but that didn’t happen, and on our way back, the “bus” that was suppose to drive us back never came and we had to find our own way back. The worst part is, when we found out how much Hostgram paid the “tour guide” that provided us the tour, it was less than 1/3rd of what we paid! And all the promised included Itinerary were “extra” defeating the purpose of the whole idea of “tour”. Charging us 3x the price of what was a self directed trip, is unfounded. I would strongly suggest staying at other options because these people are only there to scam you, not to help you. Avoid at all costs!

Decent but only if you get a deal when booking

Pros:
Location is great, and hostel is easy to find
Rooms are spacious as is bathroom
Water is hot and shower pressure is good
Included breakfast was nice

Cons:
It’s a walk up building, which was fine for us, but should be noted for travelers who are unable to go up two flights of stairs to get to the lobby.
Cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. Dingy rug, random hairs in the beds, dirty floors...

Overall an okay stay, but they should either drop their price point a bit or clean more thoroughly.

Great stay at the Hostgram

Perfect location downtown shopping area. Very nice room with good WiFi and air conditioner and comfortable bed. Breakfast each morning was good. Ahmed was great getting us set up with a driver and guide. Don’t let the entrance deceive you. Once you get up the stairs and into the Hostel you will be pleasantly surprised. If we find ourselves in Cairo again we will definitely stay at the Hostgram.

Ich kann dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen, wenn ihr zentral wohnen möchtet, ohne ein Vermögen auszugeben.
Marco und sein Team sind mega nett und sehr unkompliziert. Man findet immer eine gute Lösung! Ob Frühstück im Schwesterhotel, Kofferaufbewahrung oder Tipps für das Abendessen. Alles ist ein wenig entspannter! Nichts für Reisehyperhektiker 😉.

Hotel tres bien placé dans le centre du Caire.
Mais je reste sceptique sur le fonctionnement de cet hotel...nous arrivons et l'hôte marco nous propose de nous.metre dans 1 aitre hotel...nous avions vue 1 precedent commentaire ou la.personne netait pas contente de l'autre hotel..alors nous refusons..nous comprenons pas l'offre car lhotel a lair vide...bref au final il nous montre une chambre plutot grande et jolie et nous acceptons..
Confort du lit affreux,matelas completement mort...salle de bain tres simple mais suffisant pour se laver etc...
Petit dej,plateau avec crudités pain et yaourt..pas top mais pour le.prix on chipote pas.
Fenetre simple vitrage,cirxulation intense sous les fenetres...quand on dort on a limpression que les voitures passent par la chambre,Horrible!!!
Hotel bien placé pour visité cest tout.
Si vous avez les moyens Prenez de tres bons hôtels au Caire.

Attention à l’hôtel où on vous transfère…

Horrible le mot est faible ! Arrivés à l’hôtel Hostgram, on nous dit d’attendre pour enfin comprendre qu’on va être transférés dans un autre hôtel, Cairo Heart Hostel
Et là… une chambre dans un état déplorable, à se demander si le ménage avait été fait,
Salle de bain horrible, shampooing, gel douche déjà entamés… et le pire a été le thé moisi dans la bouilloire ! On s’attend et on comprend la vétusté des logements au Caire, mais on avait payé pour un minimum de confort à l’hôtel Hostgram que nous sommes loin d’avoir de eu.

TERRIBLE hotel

このホテルのいいところは立地だけです。

デラックスシングルルーム(クイーンベッド)を2泊予約しました。
部屋に入ってみるとシングルベッドが2つ、またsilver会員へのドリンクサービスはありませんでした。
ベッドについて聞いてみると、ベッド1つを予約して2つあるのだからNo problemと言われました。
それが問題かどうかを決めるのは彼らではなく私です。
わざわざ高い金額を出して広いベッドを予約したのに…1人で2つのベッドに寝れますか？

またWi-Fiはほとんどつながりません。
これについて改めて聞くと、明日には直ると。
Wi-Fiの有無は海外旅行者にとって死活問題です。
ぜひこのホステルのページにはWi-Fi無しと書いてほしい。

さらにシャワーを浴びようとすると水が出ない。
さすがに呆れてクレジットカードの支払いをキャンセルしろと言いに行きました。
しかし何度言っても支払いのキャンセルはできないと。
Wi-Fiがよく繋がる広い部屋にするからとのことでやむを得ず了承しました。
しかしシャワーは相変わらず浴びれません。
付近で水道工事をしてるとかとのことでしたが、事前にそのことをアナウンスしておいてくれればその時間以前にシャワーを浴びることができたのに、もしくは他のエリアでホテルをとったのに…。

翌日にはシャワーは浴びれましたが、よく繋がると言われたWi-Fiもまた繋がらなくなり、もはや文句を言うのも面倒になりチェックアウトの日を迎え、ホテルを出ました。

このエリアには¥600程度からの安いホステルがたくさんあります。
このような酷いホテルに¥3,000も払うよりホステルに泊まればよかったと後悔しました。

立地は考古学博物館が徒歩圏内で、良い場所の割に値段が安いと思います。
ただし、シャワーは付いているものの、トイレスペースしかないため、実際には使えなかったり、2泊したが特に部屋の清掃などはなかったりしたので、それらを踏まえたら値段相応なのかもしれません。

배낭여행객에게 괜찮은 호스텔입니다.
1st 플로어까지는 엘베가 안가서 가방을 들고올라가야 합니다. 어리둥절하지마세요! 4층은 다른 호스텔입니다.
시내는 엄청 시끄러운데 12시 넘으면 차가 많이 안다녀서 조용합니다. 노이즈캔슬링 이어폰 끼고 자니까 괜찮았습니다.
매연 엄청 심해서 발코니 나가보지도 않고 문 닫았습니다. 사장님 및 직원들은 모두 친절합니다. 출발하는날 가방 킵해주고 밥사왔는데 먹을 수 있게 도와주기까지 합니다.
어차피 여기저기 돌아다니다 잠만 잘거면 가성비 최고방 아닐까 합니다. 단 시내라서 숙소 앞 트래픽 심합니다. 주변에 샤와르마 맛집
