When we first got there, after a long day of flying and very tired, we paid for our deluxe double room which we booked with expedia. Only to be told after paying that they only had a 2 single bed room with no windows. Very poor. It seemed they might have overbooked. We were told that we could have the room we actually booked on our second night. I asked forva refund as the deluxe was $20 american extra per night. They could not give me a answer that night. We eventually received the money after lots of going back and forward on our second day. The female manager was helpful and very appologetic. Breakfast is not good. They cook it for you and the only edible things were the bread and egg.
Dont get them to do your washing. It came back damp and not clean. The dirt on our socks My white pants and a couple of my husbands shirts .while wsiting for our pick up upon checking out. We watched 3 people checking in asked by their managment that they did not have rooms for them and that they could send them to their sister hotel. Once again negligence on their booking system.
We would never recommend this hotel. Not worth the money.

The hotel was hard to find and located in a very sketchy location. When I finally found the hotel, there was a sign saying the hotel was located on the next floor. We walked to the floor that it’s located on and there’s a sign saying that they were closed for renovations. The person who worked there barely acknowledged me and continued smoking his cigarette as I explained that I had a reservation. He then gets on the phone and doesn’t tell me what’s going on. Once he hung up, he told me he was sending us to another hotel. He had a teenager walk us to another hotel which was down the street in an equally sketchy location. We ended up checking out in the middle of the night. Very horrible experience.

On arriving at the hotel it was immediately obvious that I wouldn’t be staying there
The whole hotel is being refurbished,it’s closed,it’s having a complete refurbishment

Workers in the hotel tried to scam me for simple water bottles. They were so persistent that I book tours with them only and it was not pleasant to be asked that as many times as I got asked. The room was super tiny and not the room I asked for at all. Next time I will not be coming to this hotel.

The staff were super friendly and approachable! We had problems with one of our private tours they we pre-booked online and the staff here were super helpful in contacting them and getting it sorted! They also had a great list of tours- we actually joined one of them and loved it! The room are pretty standard but highly recommend due to the location and the staff!

Day before i got bumped again in another of their property in a smaller room amd much smaller bathroom, can hardly move without any compensationas i booked in better room.

The room was really small for 4 people. The bathroom shower was leaking everywhere. The beds were really uncomfortable and the Internet terrible. The noise from the street it’s crazy until 3-4am, impossible to rest. Breakfast was good and personnel very kind.

this was a great option for our family of four. location really central, with easy metro, walking and driving options to everywhere. the room was spacious with good beds. only downside was the fact the shower leaked a bit (but that’s a minor thing). we liked the breakfasts - different each day, and no shortage of food. and the staff were incredibly friendly…no hesitation to help when asked. highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable, quality downtown cairo hotel.

Even though we had booked our stay at the Cairo Capital Hotel, we didn't actually end up staying there. We had arrived early morning to the hotel, where they helped us hold our luggage, since checkin wasn't until 2:00pm. We left to go explore town, when we came back at nighttime after a long day of travel to check-in, they told us that they didn't have a room for us. There was a mistake in the system and our room was occupied. They said they found us another hotel that was brand new just a couple mins away and sent someone to bring us there. We got in the car, and were driving around in circles for a while. It appeared that they were lost and didn't know where this new hotel was. After a while they found the place, there was no sign and the entrance didn't really look like an entrance to a hotel. It was also in a neighborhood a bit more sketch than we were accustomed to. We followed the employee, unfortunately the elevator was broken and it was on the third floor. By this point we were getting a bit annoyed. They carried our luggage up for us, and got us a room. The whole room smelled strongly of paint and was barely furnished. It was a giant room with a bed and two bedside tables, and a tv. There was still wires in the ceiling where it looked like a light fixture was going to be added. There were no towels or hangers, it was definitely a rushed job. We had an early flight and this was the last thing we wanted to deal with. For this reason I'm giving Capital Hotel 3 stars.

Cairo capital Hotel is excellent as long as you know what you are paying for.
If you want luxury hotel suites, balcony views, room service, swimming pool… this is probably not the place for you.
If you want to explore Cairo on an agreeable budget then definitely consider this hotel.
Solo traveler, the room is spacious, cold air conditioner, television, fridge, coffee, hanging space for clothes with shelving, bathroom is clean, water is insanely hot, I have stayed in many cheaper hotels where they scrimp not providing hot water.
This is the opposite The water is very very hot so be careful.
More importantly it is clean, no bugs, clean modern furniture, clean bedding & and safe environment.
There's a mix of tourists, solo travelers both male and female, Egyptian business people.

Reception staff are kind and helpful, they do sell trips but I didn't find a hard sell I got some excellent advice about local restaurants & cafés, off the tourist track.
Got some great advice about navigating the pyramids.
Excellent location central downtown Cairo if you enjoy the hustle bustle it's a perfect location.
Cairo is super safe very little crime which is refreshing, you can go take your photographs take videos in safety also the evenings are very busy with the Egyptians walking and shopping and totally safe.
Yes there are a few panhandlers (nothing compared to down by the pyramids though) just be polite and firm.
You can walk to the Egyptian museum, you can walk to the Nile, Giza 25 minutes

I stayed fewer nights than booked. Had to pay upfront and was told I would be credited any money back if I checked out early. I verbally communicated with the hotel staff multiple times I would be checking out early. I sent the hotel four emails requesting a refund. No response from the hotel. Had to dispute the cost with the credit card company. Pain in the butt.

We (family of 3) stayed for 7 days over one month, and the staff were excellent in providing advice on what to do. They also were very generous in keeping our extra luggage for the one month period, as we came and went as we travelled around Egypt. Wonderful place to stay in the center of Cairo. The hotel was on an alley that was closed to traffic, between two major busy streets. So there were plenty of shops and restaurants within a short walking distance on the two busy streets, but unexpectedly quiet at night (at least compared to other places in center Cairo). The room was very clean. People at the reception were very friendly, useful and never pushy. They helped us arrange cruises on river Nile and transportation around town for much lower prices than elsewhere. Overall an awesome experience for a much lower cost than I was used to.

The hotel needs a serious upgrade. The stairwell is dark and dirty. The lobby furniture is worn and stained. The room is scuffed and the bathroom leaks from every location. Rooms are noisy from the street. The breakfast is prepared by one overwhelmed lady. But everyone was cheerful. Location was great.

The staff were helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked. There was no hot water for shower. There was one hot water switch and tank in one room only which supplied hot water to all the rooms on the floor. We suffered taking cold showers for 3 days. Complaining made no difference and we could not leave the hotel and go to another hotel because payment was required at the check in.
Expedia needs to look into this and rectify this issue for other guests.

First of all I got to start with the country itself. Egypt is one of kind. I’m Jordaninan American who travel a lot but Egypt as country and the Egyptian amazed me. So don’t think twice and go for it. The hotel is 3 stars hotel I got the double room which’s the best they got. It has two windows, AC, bathroom clean and nice water pressure, it just you may need earpiece for the street, cars noise. Overall the hotel is perfect for the money but I which if they spend some money on the front door to look better with some lighting signs. Thanks a lot for Khalid Samah and Ahmed who works on the front desk.

We booked this hotel because it was at the center of Cairo and close to restaurants, sites, etc. And it was. However, this didn't have the level of items more common to American style hotels. No real lounge space, no hand towels, no iron or you pay 10egp to get and iron, no hair dryer, and no conditioner. They do serve breakfast but it is the same everyday. The water in the shower kept spilling outside into the bathroom floor. The shower was tiny. There was no sink counter space for your toothbrush and the sheets are old and torn and little bit dirty. The rooms were airconditioned well but the hallway and lobby weren't so there were some mosqitoes in the hallway and sometimes in the room. Overall the staff was very nice and friendly, especially Samah and breakfast lady. It was a good value and the location was great, if you are sensitive for the sleeps it has a lot of horning at night.

We booked this hotel because it was at the center of Cairo and close to restaurants, sites, etc. And it was.

Lovely little hotel in the middle of Cairo, very welcoming reception as i arrived in the middle of the night and the staff did their best to make me feel welcome. I was offered another room as i had to book late and on the same day. The next day my room was available. Very happy with the hospitality.
Khaled and Samah were always there to help with information how to get around and help with all requests.
Seham and Nonra are doing a very good job on keeping the hotel tidy and clean and offering their hospitality during breakfast.
I recommend this hotel as it is in the middle of the city, with fairly reasonable prices for its location, service provided and level of cleanliness.

Clean, great location, and staff speak English

Cairo Capital staff were friendly and accommodating, even letting me stay an hour past my check out time when I needed to finish something for work. They also speak great English, which is helpful as I am an American.

The rooms are clean, simple, and affordable. The location is very central and the perfect base for all classic sightseeing.

Overall, I will always be staying here every time I come to Cairo.

The location was pretty good, lots of shops around the hotel, about 10 min walk to a metro station and about 13-15 min to the Egyptian Museum.

We had a problem finding the hotel as there was no sign outside and it was in a closed off alley. I had to call the their phone, they answered right away and picked us up from the street.

The room is decent-sized. And has everything that was advertised. Bathroom was not the cleanest.

The staff were helpful. The manager (Gaber) gave his whatsapp number so we can ask him anything whilst we were in Cairo. They also offer tours from the hotel. Probably not the cheapest in the market but we had to book last minute (9pm the night before the tour) and they were able to provide.

Breakfast was okay but it starts a bit late (8:30am) so if you are going out for a tour you will miss it.

After checking out, we had to leave our bags in the reception as our bus didn’t leave til late. They did not have a storage room for luggages and bags were just in the lobby but there’s always someone there and it seemed safe.

Overall, we are pretty happy with our hotel. It was pretty decent for the price.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and made our stay comfortable even after check out. The area of the hotel is central but very busy and loud.
