-Helpful staff. We also spoke to the owner several times during our stay, he was always very welcoming.
-Clean premises.
-Beautiful internal architecture with stone and wood carvings & paintings and furnishings in covered courtyard and adjacent decorated ground floor rooms.
-Check-in: cup of refreshing mint tea on arrival. The courtyard is quiet compared with the hustle & bustle of the medina.
-Free WiFi throughout hotel. Log on details provided on check-in.
-One small lift to all floors. We tended to use the stairs. Our cases were delivered to the room.
-Room Jawhara (Suite, Floor 2) - key entry. Hanging space and shelves. Duvets. Free safe (ask Reception desk for key). Suitcase stand. Small wall-mounted Goldvision TV (HDMI port accessible). 2 small wooden chairs & small wooden table. 1 wooden upright chair. Wooden dresser with mirror. Fridge. Wall-integrated cooler/heater. Two single beds (firm mattresses) with bedside tables & lamps. 2 small rugs. Window with twin wooden shutters - views of a street below. Opposite side of room has 3 windows (each with twin wooden shutters) with view of riad’s internal courtyard. En-suite bathroom with walk-in shower & washbasin (water can run very hot), toilet, hairdryer. Tiled floor.

So plz pick another Riad or hotel as not to our standard & we paid a lot to stay as wasn’t cheap . Have owners stay in room Wilili (something like that name) room & see how it is instead of blaming us . The worst Riad we stayed at ….

Riad Mazar Fes is an oasis of calm and incredible beauty. The owner Hamid and staff were so kind and welcoming, giving us a tour of the exquisite palace (that’s honestly what it feels like) upon arrival, serving us delicious mint tea and breakfasts, and making helpful recommendations. We also dined in the Riad our first night and it was the best meal we’d had in Morocco. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet and every bit as beautifully, intricately decorated as the courtyards. We loved waking up in the mornings to the gentle sounds of water in the fountain in the courtyard below. I don’t know if the photos of this place could ever do justice to how beautiful it is. Thank you to everyone at Riad Mazar for your genuine kindness and hospitality. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We are reasonably well travelled people and we can say that we are officially in love with Morocco and with Fez. We have never been so impressed by a place to stay as we were with Riad Mazar Fez. The location is ideal as it is close to the Blue Gate and Medina, the building is stunningly beautiful and the tastefully decorated rooms have all the conveniences that one needs. But most of all, it’s the people running this place who make it so special. A big Thankyou to Mr Khalid, Ms Weeham, Mr Yasin, and all the staff for making our stay here truly memorable. The breakfast was so delicious and we felt right at home. We can’t wait to be back!!!

I had the most amazing time! The Riad was lovingly restored with great attention to every detail from the cedar and plaster to the zelige and artwork. The staff is warm and inviting and helpful. The common areas and rooms are meticulously clean. The breakfast was delicious and made fresh in the Riad kitchen. The tour guides they recommended were top notch. Such a beautiful place. Conveniently located at the edge of the Medina so you can arrive by car. The staff is very courteous and helpful, they arranged a guide for us on the first day, made last minute restaurant reservations and recomended a cooking class at a nearby Riad. We had excursions and flights that left before the breakfast and they went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated. The two gentlemen on the night shift were amazing. They offered us a plate and knife for oranges from the common area. Older gentleman (possibly owner), said “Please, this is your home,” and younger one served us Moroccan tea with a smile, free of charge. They truly reflected Moroccan warmth and kindness.
What surprised me was being charged 25 dirhams for tea the next day. I didn’t mind paying, but consistency in policies would be appreciated. There was also no iron available. Since Morocco is a Muslim country with many Muslim visitors, I was also surprised they only had one prayer mat when we requested two. Prayer mats should be readily available, as it’s a simple way to make Muslim guests feel at home.
Overall, the Riad is stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff are kind. Just a few small improvements would make the experience perfect.

This riad was the highlight of our trip across Spain and Morocco. The wonderful management checked in with us ahead of our stay, arranged a local tour of the Medina (with Amine, who was terrific) and came out to meet us when we arrived and got a little lost. This was by far the best Riad we stayed in our entire 2 week trip. Siham went above and beyond helping us sort out our tours and change bookings. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. My uncle has mobility issues so it was nice that the taxi could drop us off right at the door. Once you enter it is a stunning work of art for decor. Don’t forget to check out the new part with the pool! It is a short walk to the blue gate and once you sort one the Medina it’s even shorter coming in the back way.

We have stayed in multiple riads throughout Morocco and this is far and above the best one. Not only is the physical space magnificent but the staff literally treat guests like royalty. My partner and I have traveled all over the world and neither of us has ever been treated so well. Furthermore, the dinner was phenomenal and is probably the best food we've had in Morocco w/ absolutely massive portions that look like something from Man vs. Food. If you travel to the amazing city of Fes, you'd be making a mistake not to lodge here. I promise you will love it!

The place is super pretty. So beautiful! The two gentleman and the lady from the staff were all super helpful and nice. They called a cab for me, game me suggestions for food and hammam, and held my luggage before my flight time. Breakfast is so nice too; makes you feel like royalty 😊. Make sure you look around the ground floor… I almost missed half!

In a lifetime of traveling, this was a truly standout experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and makes you feel transported to a magical time. The service is next level. Siham and the rest of the staff care deeply about their city and your experience and will connect you with the absolute best guides (with a discount). Hussaini knows the city better than anyone and will show you the religious sites and you will feel like old friends with the local craftsman that you meet like him. There are many amazing options outside the city, but if you want to see the beauty of the Middle Atlas Mountains, Hassan is your man. Yacine is another amazing staff member who procured me a large bag to bring back everything that I had bought, including a gorgeous traditional Berber carpet and Tagine made in front of my eyes. I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. Stay here for the experience of a lifetime through customer service that you won’t find anywhere else.

This is the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in in all my years of traveling. (I don’t stay at 5 star Four Seasons type places fyi) It is absolutely beautiful (please see pictures) Service, especially SIham, was exceptional. The breakfasts served in the gorgeous courtyard were great. It is easily located to the medina and walking distance to the main tourist sites in old Fez. The beds we’re comfortable, and the rooms gorgeous. Daily housekeeping. Highly highly recommend staying here.

We are decently well travelled and know that we prefer forgoing tours and figuring out how to navigate cities on our own, and were very disappointed when Siham did not give us a choice to do this. When we asked for recommendations the only thing she advised us to do was to pay for tour guides to bring us to specific locations and show us around. This would work for many travelers but it did not appeal to us and Siham's repeated pressure made us feel like we were just fighting her for most of our visit.
If she had seen that we preferred to go at things alone and advised us on the best way to do that, we would have had a significantly better stay and probably enjoyed the city a lot more.
