It’s a nice hotel located very close to the central station, which makes it easy to get to. There are plenty of touristy restaurants nearby as well. The room was clean and modern, with a fantastic shower that sprays water from the top, middle, and below – a real highlight.

Breakfast was fine, though the selection wasn’t huge, the service was quick and efficient. One thing to note is that just a few streets behind the hotel, near the station, there’s a rather dodgy area that doesn’t feel very pleasant, so tourists should avoid going there.

Overall, though, it’s a nice hotel and I really enjoyed my stay.

It was conveniently located for the station, metro, central Naples and local restaurants. It had a basic Italian restaurant with a discount for residents, but there are plenty of alternatives nearby. The street outside was a bit run down, and there was a lot of litter, uneven pavements, etc. This is central Naples! Personally I didn't feel threatened, but I can see others might do.
The bed was comfortable and the room large, clean and quiet, overlooking a courtyard. The air-conditioning was effective but seemed to be stuck on a cold even when set to 24C! The fittings were a strange mix of new and old, some were stained or corroded. I didn't find any English channels on the TV, but this was the first hotel I have stayed in with a Bible for about 20 years!

It was OK for one person for one night, although I'm a little above average height and weight, so the bed was a little too small.
Also, there was no complimentary water and the wending machine takes only coins. If you only use credit card you're out of luck (an drink).
Very convenient garage, very good restaurant (Davide), good breakfast, although steak could be better (I'm from Texas, so spoiled).

Disappointing stay

Our trip to Italy was amazing except for our stay at this hotel. The people at the front desk were unfriendly, the people who worked the breakfast buffet were unfriendly as well.
Our room was unwelcoming and sterile looking. No one would guess it is a hotel in Italy by looking at it. The safe in the room didn’t work. The shower and the sink had a slow drain. We couldn’t even brush our teeth without the sink filling up. The phone in the room didn’t work. There were no bed side lamps or lighting.
We picked this hotel because of its proximity to the train station , but that was a mistake. It is a VERY SKETCHY area. We don’t feel safe walking in the area. It was very noisy even late at night.
I should have read all the reviews before booking because clearly this is a pattern with this hotel. And they don’t care to fix any of the issues.
I would not stay here again.

Def far from a 4star hotel. The room really basic and unfortunately it stinked very badly of drainage so much so it was impossibile to sleep well and be comfortable. Room extremely noisy with lot of people shouting until 1am in their room corridor and staff didn't do anything. Chaos at breakfast with long queue. Staff friendly but def not a pleasant experience (also they charge for luggage storage but it was not communicated upfront, only upon arrival)

The hotel is easy to find and conveniently close to the central train and bus stations. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the ensuite bathroom very good. The room was clean. Breakfast was a buffet - there was a good selection.
The hotel is a little dated, not really a problem though. Our room overlooked a central courtyard that was quite scruffy. The streets around Naples are typically littered and smelly - clearly street cleaning is not the Councils priority.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Naples. The staff was excellent in helping me to locate my room and the adjacent restaurant provided wonderful food and service. The property is located on a street that is not ideal but convenient to the train station and buses. The room was clean but not modern. It was perfectly adequate for my needs.

The good:
Central location close to main train and metro station, shops, and many restaurants. Staff was excellent, friendly, and had great suggestions for what to do in the area. Breakfast that was included in my reservation was good.

The bad:
Maybe my standards are too high, but although “recently renovated” the hotel still looked overall outdated. Bathroom smelled really bad (like a very old hotel bathroom) despite the many times I sprayed it. Couldn’t figure out how to turn on the heater (although I should have called for assistance on this, clearly I was too tired for that hehe). Finally the key to the room is huge and heavy, wishing they had key cards to enter the room esp when you are touristing around with a small purse that is already jammed pack.

Overall:
For a night maybe 2, it does the job if you don’t really care about the fancy luxury life. Staff makes up for the shortcomings of the facility

Me and my partner had a great stay at this hotel! All the staff we met were really helpful and friendly, our room was very clean, plenty of choice at the bar/breakfast in the morning! I can’t fault the hotel at all really, it’s a little outdated but was still a nice hotel.

The hotel is situated next to the train and metro stations which is really convenient for travelling around the city and getting to Pompeii etc. the metro is very handy as it’s a big city and you need it to get around.

One thing we will mention is that it’s quite noisy in the area but I think anywhere you stay in the city will be the same. Also the streets are quite dirty. We also thought that there wasn’t too many decent restaurants or bars close to the hotel so you will need to catch the metro. It can feel a bit sketchy walking around at night in some not so well lit areas, but we encountered no problems. As long as you have some common sense, don’t walk around alone at night down dark streets and be aware of people around you you’ll be fine.

Other than that I would recommend this hotel, we had a great time Naples has a lot of charm!

Nice hotel with perfect service and lovely staff. I must mention something really special. About these lovely human beings on the reception. I think their names are Lisa and Mostafa. We have arrived with my daughter to the hotel one night after the day trip in Pompeii. We were thirsty and tha bar was closed. We have asked these lovely people about the drink possibilities. As the bar was closed they shared their personal drink with us without any hesitation and with smile. Very nice gesture of humanity that you do not see everywhere these days. Wholehearted gratitude.

However, the only issue we observed was the surrounding area near the railway station felt a bit unsafe.

Definitely not a 4 star - more like 2 at best. Would not recommend staying here. Location is handy for the station but surrounding area is vile and dangerous. Requested a twin room 6 weeks before stay and this was not honoured - staff did not apologise and made out it was my error. Issue was corrected after some time by a different member of staff. The room looked nothing like the photos. It felt cold and dark and creepy. The hallways were loud and heard easily from the room. You also had to use the key to lock the door, so you were literally locked in. Seems like a fire hazard. I would not stay here again.

I have no idea how this hotel has 4 stars. The street it’s on is really close to the train station which is very convenient however it’s really rough, trash everywhere and it feels like an unsafe area. When we got into the hotel we were very disappointed, the photos of the nice clean modern rooms must be airbrushed, because they do not look like the pictures at all. The walls were dirty and scuffed, all the laminate was peeling off the furniture and it was also scuffed and scratched, the grout was falling out of parts of the shower and was covered in mould/mildew, the shower head looked like it’s never been cleaned before, the lamps beside the bed weren’t even screwed in all the way and looked like they would fall off any second, the fridge didn’t work and there wasn’t even a kettle or anything, there were a load of ants crawling around on the floor and the towels smelt weird. We did get breakfast included which was nice and the main lobby looked nice but overall the only way this is a 4 star hotel is if it’s out of 10. Very disappointed, wouldn’t stay here again.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! We booked a remodeled Superior Room 3 months in advance and they sent us -without telling us up front - to a standard room that was in a pretty bad condition. We didn’t even had space to open our luggage. I went to the front desk and told them that was Not the room we reserved and they said they made a mistake and they oversold it. No solution was given to us. Next day we went to breakfast at 10am, and they refused to serve us (which was included with our room)- a rude lady told us at the restaurant that they were already closed as breakfast was until 10am. As per the front desk guy from the night before, breakfast was until 11am. We were scammed and treated very bad. Stay away!

I'll start by saying, I will not stay at this hotel again.

I travel on a city break weekend every month. For Easter I chose Naples and stayed at the Hotel Vergilius Billia for 3 nights. (Note, the check out is 10am!)

This hotel gets a 5 / 10.

My room was 'heartless'. Dim wore paint. Depressing.

The hotel needs a MAJOR re-fit.

The window view was to a grim inner courtyard. I kept the curtains shut as a result.

There is no plastic key card but a heavy key from 1970s. Really?

The receptionists weren't responsive to my few questions / requests.

The wifi was on and then off and then on.

There was a plastic covered notice on the bathroom wall about the shower basin filling up with instructions how to turn down the water pressure or remove the filthy cover over the drain. Really? Yes, my feet were swimming in a pool of water.

The main hall floors had ceramic tiles and and every un-aware / ignorant guest would chat and discuss the day plans and the sound would carry down the hall into the room.

A nap was impossible. If you want to sleep, don't stay here.

And there was a fridge in the room. BUT, the fridge difused lots of heat adding to the carbon footprint, but was essentially useless. Nothing in the fridge was cold. They should just remove the fridge from the room.

Guest services didn't care about my opinion about this.

In summary, I would not stay at this hotel again.

The neighborhood felt unsafe. We decided not to walk around in the night for fear of being mugged. The surrounding area reminds one of a 3rd world city/country. The view from our room was terrible and overlooked the inside of the building which was run down and there was a clothes line outside our window. Breakfast options were very limited. When asked for a room change , I was told that they were fully booked. Never again.

They were slamming doors, screaming, and talking loudly in the halls and in the lobby. The night attendant didn’t seem to care until we came down to complain. NEVER should have happened.

4 night stay to explore Napoli

Stayed here as a base to explore Naples and visit Pompei/Vesuvius.
Firstly - beware taxis from the airport. Should cost Eur20 to this hotel...but some will overcharge by a lot!
Hotel is functional but in need of updating (paintwork, decoration, etc). Shower tray would flood unless you stopped the shower half way through to let the drains catch up.
Location (right next to Naples train station) is very handy with a decent sized supermarket and plenty of shops nearby. We walked all over Naples directly from here.
Breakfast selection was basic but workable. Good tea/coffee is served with breakfast...but unfortunately each guest is only allowed 2 each.

The hotel room itself was pretty nice, and breakfast was delicious, but thats about where the good ended.

The area was close to the train but very dangerous. The staff were rude and made us sit alone in the lobby awaiting our room to be ready, knowing exactly why we were waiting there, and didn’t give us our key until we went up to the desk 45 mins later and directly asked for it. The shower floods. The “double” beds are just twin beds literally strapped together. And the hotel has a “you can’t bring food in from the outside and eat it in our rooms” policy. They claim its due to hygiene and “safety” reasons. But you're allowed to buy food from their restaurant and bring it to your room! Bought pastries from down the street and wasn’t “allowed” to eat them. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.

I complained about this policy to the receptionist who dismissed me with a knowing and pompous grin, as if they get complaints from guests often and have a culture of taking pleasure in mistreating guests. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they weren't there, as an obviously-superior woman sat at a desk 15 feet behind the receptionist. I asked for a contact number, and was told flat-out “Nope.” Horrific experience and an awful hotel. I’d rather sleep on the street than stay here again.

This is a great hotel in a very convenient location. It was easy to get to from the airport and a convenient place to travel around town. My room was cozy, if a little dated, and the bathroom was modern with a fantastic shower. The breakfast selection was fantastic, and I highly recommend having dinner, which was scrumptious.

Had a terrible experience. I have stayed here a number of times and this is the second time where I have suffered from insect bites . I’ve complained before and on my last night I had to sleep fully clothed with a jacket on to save myself getting bitten again . There was no fridge or safe in the room .
I will stay elsewhere in future as I can’t carry on getting bitten by bugs and insects .

Location is excellent. Walking distance from Napolis Centrale station; easy walk to restaurants and shops; easy transport access to airport.

Elevator was too slow. Aircondition didn't work. For the price we paid, room was just blah.

Staff was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Forgot the girl's name who was serving us, but she was excellent and went beyond her call of duty to make sure that we were happy.

Came to the hotel just before midnight and they couldnt find my booking but found me a room and said we can sort it out in the morning .The next day göt in touch with hotel.com and they contacted the hotel and the problem was solved quickly so hats off for the staff of hotel.com and people at the hotel for letting me stay even if they couldnt find the booking .The hotel itself is very close to the metro and central station so easy to get around .i had a very nice room with a very comfortable bed and spacious room the shower was great and hot water day and night .breakfast was ok always enough plenty of sweet things good coffee, was ham cheese fried and scrambled egg ,cherry tomatoes, would of liked a little more variety

Good for everything except sleeping

I had a one bed room which was clean, comfortable and had a modern toilet/shower. The breakfast is large and location is very convenient.

However the bedroom walls are paper thin and I was woken twice - first at late night when neighbouring guests came in late, and then again in early hours when a generator (or some form of turbine machine) started at 530am.

For that reason I probably won't visit the place again.

No place for second suitcase, bathroom not cleaned well, mold/dirt here and there. Safe never worked, asked to fix, never came. No laundry service, but there is a self serve right around the corner. Bathroom amenities minimal. Can’t bill bar to room. Good location to train station. 3 blocks. No counter space in bathroom. Hairdryer fixed to bathroom wall. No Kleenex.

Although the staff was very helpful and tried their best to be accommodating, the advertisement for this hotel are inaccurate. This is not a 4 star hotel by any means. Maybe 2 star at best. This place is not worth the money. Will never stay there again and would not recommend this place to anyone.

We were moved twice smell in room .Then the next room was a dump . In the morning the shower was cold then it stopped working all together we had no water. My husband had a small cold shower i myself was moved to a single room to have a shower this was our third move .Never again

Hotel itself is excellent. Staff are nice and very accommodating. Breakfast is superb. Centrally located and very close to the central station, but the streets to and from the hotel are a little scary and dangerous especially at night, lots of migrants arguing and following me around. other than that, it's a great hotel and I don't mind coming back here...

Truly good welcome. Hotel was well situated for the port (10mins in taxi). Had the hotel food as arrived late. Recommend the seafood, mmmmm!

Wonderful location breakfast and staff... and the shower AMAZING !
If you look at the TV remote ..always a giveaway as to whether the place is truly CLEAN. Disgusting ...please clean the TV remotes...covered in other 1000 peoples germs... then you are 5 stars

Had to pay for sitting on the chair in there restaurant plus service charge

We were happy with the location of this hotel. Close to the train station and metro, plenty of restaurants to choose from & a do your own laundry around the corner. Staff was friendly, room was a bit small but clean.

Horrible hotel

The hotel was filthy and rundown. The receptionists were very rude. We stayed there because the room said it had satellite TV since we wanted to watch the final for the eurocup and it was a lie the rooms did not have satellite tv. When we complained the girl at the front desk was very sassy and said well there’s nothing i can do. The rooms were filthy the ac wasn’t working it had to be fixed. Overall unpleasant experience.

So old and dodgy, should be a 3-star

This is a really run down hotel. Breakfast was very mediocre, low variety and low effort. The cooked food was pretty bad and mostly served pastries. Staff were very nice and very willing to help. The room was old but big and bathroom was very nice. The drain smelled bad but excusable. This is a dodgy area behind the Girabaldi station. Truly truly dodgy, dark, poorly paved and lots of broken glass on the floor. I didn't feel safe and street parking was nerve racking. The roads were narrow and many of them are one-ways. Lots of scratched cars. You have to wake up in the morning at 8am to pay for parking.

Worst hotel we have stayed in, we were greeted with rude attitude by the lady at reception. The lifts were tiny, the room had no minibar the details on there review said they had a minibar. The safe did not work, breakfast was awful all the food was served cold, the towels in our room were old and smelled, think again before you book.

Quality in the city centre

Genuine 4star quality in the middle of the city, with easy access to the main station, local railway and metro. Excellent room with quality bathroom and wet room type shower. Great professionial staff and everything you would expect and more. Fantastic breakfast - plenty of savouries and the best choice of cakes I have seen.
