This hotel has many nice things, including friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, free parking, and clean rooms. The room just feel a little old-fashioned. Also there are missing things that I expect in a 4-star hotel like kleenex and drinking cups. As well, the shower water wasn't very hot, and the bedside lights weren't good for reading in bed.

Beautiful hotel in fabulous town. Cefalu is spectacular,and this hotel is in a great location for a visit. Staff were also very helpful and professional. Breakfast was excellent although the scrambled eggs and bacon were not hot.

Hotel Riva del Sol is right across the street from the beach, and very easy to walk to the old town are for shopping and dining, although there are also many choices just down the street from the hotel. The staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful. ( we had a problem with the drain in our shower and they fixed it right away.) There were many choices for breakfast and there is a restaurant on site for dinner also. Parking is included in a small lot right next to the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is a charming hotel and wanted to love it, great location to the beach and the staff is very attentive. Breakfast was decent, dinner at the restaurant was fantastic. The one downside was the air conditioning, or lack there of. Never could get it below 25.5C which for me was not good as I need a cool room to sleep. If you can't sleep sweating look elsewhare

The property is a little bit dated but kept very clean. All the staff is amazing! Since our arrival they were so kind to walk to the parking lot to show us exactly where to park. So helpful and gladly to help to resolve with any issues you might have. Also the location is absolutely the best!! And best breakfast I had in Sicily!

Charming old school euro hotel. Service was outstanding. Staff courteous and friendly. We loved the location and hotel that we booked in an extra night. Cefalu is a great place to visit in Sicily. We stayed 6 days. Never got tired of walking to every meal and just enjoying the atmosphere. Hike to the Castle and Greek temple by just walking from the hotel. A truly great experience. Hotel location is across the street from the beach with its Poseidon Bar. Even in November sunny and warm. Just relax on the perfect sand.

The hotel is close to the beaches, restaurants and shopping areas so it's very convenient. Nice view of the ocean for our hotel room.

The wall of the hotel room is quite thin so you can hear your neighbor if they talk or laugh loudly. There is no USB port in the room to charge your phone so it's a bit of a nuisance.

Parking at the hotel is small and limted. Otherwise, you have to park in the public parking spot.

Excellent resort across from the beach. We had an ocean front room which made for excellent nightcaps on the balcony. Staff is amazing. The place could use some renos as it is a little outdated. Well kept and clean. If you are looking for a quiet place this place is not for you as you hear people talking till late. We were very happy with this resort as location was the best. We would definitely recommend and we hope to come back. Thank you Hotel Riva Del Sol for an amazing few days.

This hotel is advertised as being a 4 star hotel. However, I would barely give it a 1 star. The hotel is very dated and looks old and tired. It’s clean and conveniently located on the beach but that’s all it has going for it. I stayed here due to a last
Minute Chang rob our palms for one night. I was in a single room and was given one key. I noticed the room was humid and stuffy and very hot. When I asked the front desk for an extra key to leave in the key holder to keep electricity on while I went for dinner and have the room cool down I was given a hard no by the front desk staff. YOU GET ONE KEY! He shouted. I additionally asked to borrow an electrical adapter and again I was told no not sure what you are talking about! Keep in mind this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. I went to my room to check the AC one more time before I went for dinner and ran into a young man working at the hotel. I voiced my concern about the AC and charger and he told me the AC in this room is known to have problems and should
Have never been rented out in the heat of the summer. Hotel was fully booked so they couldn’t move … He did bring me a very noisy fan to place in the room. At night when I tried to sleep on the bed I felt every metal spring in my back and body. Needless to say this was one of the most miserable stays in my travel history as I did not sleep a wink all night. The heat. The nosy fan and the rude front desk staff. Never stay here if you have other options!

This property may have been a four star in the 80s and early 90s however, it definitely does not deserve a four-star. It’s at best of three star. But it has going for it as it’s location on the beach and it’s proximity to the old town which is walkable within five minutes however, the rooms are small and tired and old. The air conditioning barely worked so we could not sleep all night. The lobby area again has not been updated since the 80s nor the rooms. The breakfast buffet had very few items, the rest being wrapped goods.

The people at the front desk were nice and service was OK. However, the property needs some love.

The hotel is in a great location. The biggest problem is NO air conditioning.Speak to front desk and they advised not working, or it’s not on because late in the season. This wouldn’t have been a problem if we were able to open the windows and doors. Our unit was on the waterfront with lots of street lighting. Noise until 3-4am. So, opening door and windows wasn’t a choice unless you can sleep though all the light and noise.

My family and I stayed at this property for what was supposed to be 4 nights. We booked this property based on its excellent location and it checked all our boxes. After checking in and getting into our room, we soon noticed that there was no air conditioning in our rooms (something EXPEDIA validated that this hotel had). We asked the front desk and they said it was in the process of being fixed. Night time came, and still no AC. We travelled with our infant (5 months) who slept in a diaper and still screamed all night long because of how uncomfortable he was for 2 nights. We felt terrible for our neighbours who I’m sure did not get much sleep either. We once again asked the hotel what the deal was, this time extremely upset, and it was then that they had told us that the AC runs during the day and turns off at night - and there was nothing they could do about it. At this point, after being lied to, we ended up checking out a night early. The staff, minus a select few, are extremely rude and do not hesitate to lie to their guests. This hotel is very cute and authentic but other than the location, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Great location, decent breakfast, but other than that it’s not worth staying here. There is no air conditioning, but they tell you they will “fix it in 10 minutes”. It wasn’t until our last day they finally stopped lying and told us they turn it off at a certain point in the day. We had a baby with us, and I found this to be extremely disrespectful. The lack of air in the room makes for an extremely smelly room as well. It smelt of mould and was impossible to get rid of the smell. The rooms are quite old so I’m sure it was mould. Also - shame on Expedia for advertising the hotel as having air conditioning.

The staff is ATROCIOUS - extremely rude and unaccommodating. I organized an airport transfer well in advance bc we needed a baby seat. We confirmed again the day before checkout that the driver would be there. The morning of our flight we were told we did not confirm (even though it’s in writing) and they had to call an emergency taxi that ended up costing us 60 euros more. They sit there and act dumb when they reaLize they are wrong. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!

There are other hotels along this strip which might be worth checking out, otherwise stay off the beach and take the walk daily.

This hotel is a 2 star at MAX.

Extremely disappointing stay!

This was a very disappointing stay. My husband and I have travelled from Australia for our honeymoon and were very excited to stay in Cefalù. However, as soon as we arrived, we were questioned about our vaccination status (which we know that hotel check ins have nothing to do with this). We were pressured to take a covid test to prove a negative result which we did not do as we felt we did not need to prove that due to our consistent testing while traveling. We were also told that one lunch and/or dinner was included in the stay. We had lunch and double checked with the restaurant that it was included, to which they replied that it was inclusive but not including drinks which we were fine to pay for. At check out, we were forced to pay €58 for lunch which was an extremely underwhelming meal and if we had known, we would have gone to another restaurant and had a nicer meal. Once we questioned this at checkout, the staff spoke down at me and were extremely rude and dismissive of me. My husband (who doesn’t speak much Italian) tried to defend me, to which he was also belittled.
We are so disappointed in the service and treatment at this hotel and will never recommend it. We have never made a complaint at any hotel but this has left us feeling very uncomfortable and we did not enjoy our stay in Cefalù due to this.

My wife and I felt very comfortable at the hotel with its amazing location along the lungomare. The style was very classic Sicilian with little unique design styles that made us feel at home. The rooms are large, with plenty of space for luggage and a balcony overlooking the ocean. The hotel was kept very clean our entire trip by their team, especially Giuseppe who was always noticeably around the hotel working and ready to greet you. The breakfast was one of our best during our 12 day stay over Sicily. Very tasty options to get you fueled up for the day! We didn’t get to go to the restaurant in the hotel however but it did look good and was busy a few nights during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel for its overall value and comfort!

The hotel is in a great location, right on the beach and only a few minutes walk from the old town. We had a room with a sea view and balcony which was nice. The room was a large family room, so plenty of space for a couple. The breakfast in the morning was good and served outside in the back courtyard. Also, there is gated private parking which is a bonus given the location. However, the hotel interior is rather dated and could do with modernising.

The hotel was beautiful, very clean, located right on the beach. We stayed in ocean view room #58. Room was clean and spacious with the small balcony, but there was a problem with AC. When we complain they said it's working in the full speed but it was hot in the room with outside temperature of 97. I'm not a big fan of AC and try to use it as rearly as possible, but it was even hot for me.

The location is great opposite a good beach and just a few minutes walk into the old town. Also arriving by train the hotel is only 300 mtrs from the station so an easy walk. Staff were always polite and helpful. We chose a sea view room and it was on the top floor on the front of the hotel and was perfect.

Across the street from wonderful beach and a short walk to historic old town of Cefalu. Staff was excellent. A little noisy out front by beach boardwalk on Saturday night, but quiet after midnight. I believe their a/c is only on during hot season. Room was fine with cool ocean breeze, but a little noisy til midnight since window and door were open. Definitely would stay here again, we felt very welcome. Enjoyed short stay immensely! Don’t miss Cefalu, amazing old town many wonderful restaurants/cafes and sights.

Sad customer service experience

Horrible experience. Room #20 had an oversized shower with a slippery floor and no handgrips. My wife slipped and fell and I had to bring her to the hospital for X-rays ( with no assistance from the hotel) with substantial injuries forcing us to cancel our 10 day trip to Sicily. We had to stay two more days waiting for a flight out. The owners sat in the Lobby all day long every day and showed no concern and took no responsibility for the accident that could have been avoided if the shower was properly designed. In fact they charged us for the two days we were stuck there waiting for a plane out even though it was their error. We noticed the two owners spent all of their time checking on their staff but never greeting the customers at any time. Sad when money is more important than customer service and compassion.

It is a nice hotel situated at the sea front. Our room was spacious, clean and had a balcony facing the sea.The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely book it again if we're lucky enough to spend another holidays in Cefalu. The only thing they could improve on is WiFi - internet was very slow.

Italian hotels are never great but this is a great little hotel in a great location right opposite the beach. Super option here in Cefalu

Good but pricey

Generally satisfied. Friendly, helpful staff (bar one). Excellent location. The only issue re the room was the fact the shower ran cold at popular times.
